Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect LKS of PBL based to the student critical thinking skills. The study design was a pretest-posttest non-equivalent. The samples in this study were students of class VIID and VIIE randomly selected by random sampling technique clusster. Data of the research were qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data was gotten by students learning activity, the quantitative data were the average score of test, that was analyzed by t-test and U-test. The result showed that the students learning activity improve with an average of  71,79 which is in good criteria. The students learning outcomes also develop, with N-gain average score was 62,55. Thus, the application of the model PBL influential in improving critical thinking skills by students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas LKS Berbasis PBL terhadap keterampilan berfikir kritis siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pretes-postes tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIID dan VIIE yang dipilih secara teknik clusster random sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa aktivitas belajar siswa, data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t atau uji U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata berkriteria baik 71,79. Hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain 62,55. Dengan demikian, aplikasi LKS Berbasis Problem Based Learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis oleh siswa. Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, ciri-ciri makhluk hidup, keterampilan berikir kritis,  LKS berbasis problem based learning

Abstract

This research has goal to know effectiveness of the guided inquiry model to improve activity and mastery of the material. The design of this research is pretest-posttest non equivalent. The sample was of class VIIIB and VIIIC are selected by clusters random sampling. The data of research quantitative and qualitative data. Qualitative data taken by average value pretest, posttest, and N-gain that analyzed statistically using uji t. Qualitative data is learning activity, student response that analyzed in descriptive. The result of study showed that the student activity has already increased, that is giving opinion aspect, work in teams, present the results of the discussion, and ask a question. Mastering material also get increasing with average N-gain (0,44). In addition most of students gave positive response toward the use of guided inquiry model. So, guided inquiry model can improve mastery of material and the activity of studying of the student. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan materi. Desain penelitian ini pretes postes non-equivalen. Sampel adalah kelas VIIIB dan VIIIC  dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian  berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes, postes dan N-gain yang dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji-t. Data kualitatif berupa aktivitas belajar dan tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas mengalami peningkatan yaitu pada aspek mengemukakan gagasan, bertukar informasi, mempresntasikan hasil diskusi kelompok, dan mengajukan pertanyaan. Penguasaan materi juga mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-gain (0,44). Selain itu, sebagian besar siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan model inkuiri terbimbing. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan materi siswa. Kata kunci :  aktivitas belajar, inkuiri terbimbing, penguasaan materi, pertumbuhan dan perkembangan pada makhluk hidup.

Abstract

This study is aimed to determine the effect of science process skills approach to rational thinking ability of students. The study design was a pretest-posttest design non-equivalent groups. The samples in this study were class X1 and X2 that selected by purposive sampling technique. The quantitative data obtained from pretest and posttest values were analyzed by comparison of N-gain using a Hake formula, while the qualitative data in the form of student learning activity data were analyzed descriptively. The results of study indicated that the application of science process skills approach can improve students' ability to think rationally (N-gain 63,53). The ability of students from each observed indicators of rational thinking has increased. The highest enhancement was an indicator of the ability to gather information and the lowest is the ability to solve problems rationally. Thus the application of science process skills approach gave significant effect in improving rational thinking ability and student learning activities. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan keterampilan proses sains terhadap kemampuan berpikir rasional siswa. Desain penelitian adalah desain pretes-postes kelompok non equivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X1 dan X2 yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari nilai pretes dan postes yang dianalisis dengan perbandingan N-gain menggunakan formula Hake, sedangkan data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses sains dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir rasional siswa (N-gain 63,53). Kemampuan siswa dari tiap indikator berpikir rasional yang diamati mengalami peningkatan. Peningkatan tertinggi adalah indikator kemampuan menggali informasi dan terendah adalah kemampuan memecahkan masalah secara rasional. Dengan demikian penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses sains berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir rasional dan aktivitas belajar siswa.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar siswa, keterampilan berpikir rasional, keterampilan proses sains

Abstract

Mastery of concepts that are not quite optimal by high school science students of class IX N 2 Metro affected by the lack of proper strategies in the learning process. Strategies that can facilitate student achievement and skill one is mind mapping. Using mind mapping aims to determine students' critical thinking skills. Experimental research design was pretest-posttest form is not equivalent to involve XI IPA1 as the experimental class and control class XI IPA2 as selected by purposive sampling technique. The research data in the form of qualitative data obtained from students 'learning activities are analyzed using an index of students' critical thinking skills and mind mapping products derived from each group discussions and quantitative data obtained from a pretest-posttest were analyzed using t-test. The results showed improvement in the experimental class students' mastery of concepts with an average gain of 64.73 N-higher than the average N-gain the control class is 47.52. The average increase in each indicator of cognitive mastery of concepts by students in the experimental class also higher at 41.27 while the control class is 31.55. Similarly, student learning activities, that the experimental class achieving increased higher activity than the control class. Aspects express opinions / ideas and discuss work on LKS is the highest activity obtained by the students. Based on the achievements that have been disclosed, it can be concluded that the mind mapping is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. Abstract

The objective of the research was to know the relationship between class management and learning interest toward the students.  This study design was quantitative description with correlation approach. The samples were the students’ Biology learning result at all SMA at Gadingrejo subdistrict of grade X and XI, chosen by purposive sampling technique. The class management and learning interest data were taken from the questionnaire dan interview, while the learning product data was taken from the block test twice time. The data analysis used simple correlation (Bivariate Pearson) and double correlation. The research result showed that there was a correlation between class management with learning product with the correlation grade 0.639 that was categorized as strong, there was a correlation between learning interest with learning product with the correlation grade 0.724 that was categorized as strong, there was a correlation between class management and learning interest with the learning product with the correlation grade 0.78 that was categorized as strong.  Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara manajemen kelas dan minat belajar dengan hasil belajar biologi siswa. Desain penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Sampel penelitian siswa SMA se-Kecamatan Gadingrejo kelas X dan XI dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data manajemen kelas dan minat belajar diambil dari angket, dan wawancara, sedangkan data hasil belajar diambil dari tes yang diberikan selama dua kali uji blok. Data dianalisis menggunakan korelasi sederhana (bivariate pearson) dan korelasi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ada hubungan antara manajemen kelas dengan hasil belajar dengan angka korelasi 0.639 yang berkategori kuat, ada hubungan antara minat belajar dengan hasil belajar dengan angka korelasi 0.724 yang berkategori kuat, ada hubungan antara manajemen kelas dan minat belajar dengan hasil belajar dengan korelasi 0.78 yang berkategori kuat.Kata kunci :  hasil belajar, manajemen kelas, minat belajar

Abstract

This research aimed to produced Flash animation and interactive question based on Powerpoint. Design was research and development, as trial subject XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, SMA N 1 and SMA Teladan Way Jepara. This research were through by 3 step preface study, development and evaluation. Result of this research were Flash animation and interactive question based on Powerpoint that appropriated with requirement. Effectiveness test showed average of learning outcomes in experiment was higher than control (experiment 1 = 91,56; experiment 2 = 96,7; control 1 = 68,39; control 2 = 66,3). Test of attractive got feasibility scored 3,28 with values assessment so interesting. Test of material expert got percentage feassibility of 85%, test of design expert 90%, test of language expert 90%, test of practitioner expert 100. It can be concluded that Flash animation result of development product effective to improve students learning outcomes and can be variety of study resource.Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan animasi Flash dan soal interaktif berbasis Powerpoint. Desain yang digunakan adalah research and development, subjek uji coba kelas XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2 SMA N 1 dan SMA Teladan Way Jepara. Penelitian melalui tiga tahap yaitu studi pendahuluan, pengembangan dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian berupa animasi Flash dan soal interaktif berbasis Powerpoint yang sesuai karakteristik. Hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (eksperimen 1 = 91,56; eksperimen 2 = 96,7; kontrol 1 = 68,39; kontrol 2 = 66,3). Uji kemenarikan memperoleh nilai kelayakan 3,28 dengan penilaian sangat menarik. Uji ahli materi memperoleh persentase kelayakan 85%, uji ahli desain 80%, ahli bahasa 80%, praktisi 100%. Dapat disimpulkan animasi Flash hasil pengembangan teruji efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan dapat dijadikan sumber belajar alternatif yang variatif.Kata kunci : animasi flash, sistem pernapasan manusia, soal interaktif berbasis powerpoint

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the student’s mastery of concepts in learning through Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) model and Gallery Walk (GW) in the subject matter excretion system. The research design was pretest-posttest non-equivalent groups. Samples were students of class XI IPA1 and XI IPA2 randomly selected by cluster  random sampling technique. The quantitative data was N-gain obtained from the average value of pretest and posttest were statistically analyzed using t-test. The qualitative data was obtained from student learning activity. The result of this research proves the activities in express their argument, asking, team work, get improves by N-gain score in TSTS class at 44.51 where as in GW class 36.51. Because of that using a model TSTS gave significant influance in increasing mastery of concept and student learning activity. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penguasaan konsep dalam pembelajaran melalui model Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) dan Gallery Walk (GW) pada materi pokok sistem ekskresi. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretes-postes kelompok tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2 yang dipilih secara acak dengan tekhnik cluster random sampling. Data kuantitatif  berupa N-gain  diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes dan postes yang dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji-t. Data kualitatif  berupa data aktivitas belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa aktivitas mengemukakan pendapat, bertanya, bekerjasama, mengalami peningkatan dengan skor N-gain pada kelas TSTS 44,51 sedangkan  pada kelas GW  sebesar 36,51. Dengan demikian penggunaan model TSTS berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan aktivitas belajar siswa.Kata kunci : aktivitas siswa, gallery walk, penguasaan konsep, sistem eksresi, two stay two stray

Abstract

The purpose of research were to know the influence of picture media towards increase of student’s science process skill. The research was a quasi-experimental research by pretest posttest group equivalent design. The samples of research were students from VIIIA and VIII B  which chosen from population by purposive sampling method. Data of this research were quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data obtained from the average value of pretest, posttest and N-gain which statistically analyzed with t-test and U-test. The Result of research showed that the application of picture media affect student’s SPS significantly. The increase of student’s SPS is showed by average value of N-gain (68.00). All indicator of student’s SPS increased with average value of N-gain (67.35). The average percentage of student’s learning activities is in good criteria (80.20%) Besides, most of  students gave positive response in application of picture media. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media gambar terhadap peningkatan KPS oleh siswa.  Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimental dengan desain pretes-postes kelompok ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII2 dan VII3 yang dipilih dari populasi secara purposive sampling.  Data penelitian ini berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif.  Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretest, posttest dan N-gain pada materi Klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup yang dianalisis dengan uji t dan uji U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar berpengaruh sigifikan terhadap peningkatan KPS oleh siswa.  Peningkatan KPS siswa ditunjukkan dengan nilai rata-rata N-gain (68,00).  Semua indikator KPS siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata N-gain (67,35).  Rata-rata persentase aktivitas belajar siswa berkriteria baik yaitu 80,20% Selain itu, sebagian besar siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan media gambar. Kata kunci: KPS, Klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup, Media Gambar.

Abstract

Cooperation activity of students is required so that the students get more experience. This research aimed to know the effect from the use of the talking stick learning model to the cooperation activity of students in the subject matter of environmental pollution and waste. This research is an experimental study using One - Shot Case Study design. The research data was qualitative form that student cooperation activity data obtained by using the student rubric of cooperative activity and analyzed descriptively. Samples were students in the class X1 of 30 students. At the first meeting the average percentage of student cooperation activity is 52.71% and increased in the second meeting be 67.92%. Based on the results it can be concluded that use of the talking stick model of learning can enhance student cooperation activities.Aktivitas kerjasama siswa diperlukan agar siswa memperoleh pengalaman lebih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran talking stick terhadap aktivitas kerjasama siswa pada materi pokok pencemaran lingkungan dan limbah. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksperimen dengan desain One – Shot Case Study. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif yaitu data aktivitas kerjasama siswa yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan rubrik aktivitas kerjasama siswa dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 dengan jumlah 30 siswa. Pada pertemuan pertama rata-rata persentase aktivitas kerjasama siswa sebesar 52,71% dan meningkat pada pertemuan kedua menjadi 67,92%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran talking stick dapat meningkatkan aktivitas kerjasama siswa. Kata kunci : aktivitas kerjasama siswa, limbah,  pencemaran lingkungan, talking stick

Abstract

This study aims to find out  the improvement of students` problem solving skills on environmental pollution and conservation concepts of  X grade student of  SMA N 1 Talang Padang using Group Investigation learning model. The  study  used  pretest-posttest non equivalent design. Sample were X5 as experimental class and X3 as control  chosen from population using  randomized block  sampling technique. Data of students problem solving skill was obtained using  pretest and posttest, while data of  students` learning activities was observed and the data obtained was statistically analyzed using t-test with SPSS 17 program.The study  showed  that there was  improvement of students` problem solving skills  with  61.67 N-gain score. The GI learning model effected  students` problem solving significantly espescially on three aspects such as  identifying problem, formulating problem, and giving alternative solution.The GI learning model also  affected students` learning activities significantly on the students  expressing opinions / ideas  skill and discussions. The study concluded that the GI  learning models can improve students' problem solving skills and enhance student learning activities on environmental pollution and conservation concepts.Key words:     Group Investigation (GI) learning model, problem solving skills, learning activities, environmental pollution, environmental conservation.
