Abstract

Critical thinking skills in students XI Grade Science of Senior High School 7 Bandar Lampung not developed. This is because learning process dominated by teacher. One alternative that can be used to make students active in critical thinking is PBL models. The purpose of this study were to determine the effect of PBL models to the students' critical thinking skills. The design was a pretest-posttest non-equivalent. The samples in this study was students of XI Grade Science 2 and 3 where selected with clusster random sampling technique. The data of this study is in quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data obtained from the average value of the pretest, posttest, and N-gain statistically analyzed using t-test. Qualitative data taken from student learning activities observation sheet, and then analyzed descriptively.The results showed that the use of PBL models improve students' critical thinking skills with the average pretest score (24.11), posttest (68.95), and N-gain (59.86).Student learning activities that use the models PBL also increased from meeting I with an average of 55.09 to meeting II increased with an average of 69.91, and rise again on third meeting with the average of 80.32. Thus, application of the model PBL influential in improving critical thinking skills by students.Keywords: PBL Models, critical thinking skills, learning activities, and circulatory system.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the influence of using animation media in improving students learning activity and material mastery. The research design was pretest-posttest equivalent group. The research samples were VII and VI chosen by purposive sampling. The qualitative data were gotten by student learning activity observation sheet and student responses questionnaire, that were analyzed descriptively. The quantitative data was the test value average, that was analyzed by t-test. The result showed that the learning activity average improved by well criteria (85.49) with each percentage were collaboration in groups (92.59), exchanging information (77.78), and answer questions (86.11). The material mastery improve with N-gain average score (74.81). The most of students also responded positively to the animation media application. Therefore, the using of animation media was influenced to improve the student learning activity and material mastery of immune system significantly. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media animasi dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan materi oleh siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pretes-postes kelompok ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII dan VI yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif berupa rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata aktivitas belajar meningkat dengan kriteria baik (85,49), dengan persentase masing-masing yaitu bekerjasama dalam kelompok (92,59), bertukar informasi (77,78), dan menjawab pertanyaan (86,11). Penguasaan materi meningkat dengan rata-rata N-gain (74,81). Sebagian besar siswa juga memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan media animasi. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media animasi berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan materi organ pernapasan manusia secara signifikan.  Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, media animasi, penguasaan materi, organ pernapasan manusia.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of audio-visual media TPS model in improving student’s learning activities and concept mastery . The study design was a pretest-posttest equivalent group. Samples were XI IPA 3 and XI IPA 4 grades selected by purposive sampling. The quantitative data obtained from the average of pretest, posttest and N-gain that it were statistical analyzed using U test. The qualitative data were description of learning activities and students' questionnaire responses. The results showed that the activity of teamwork, persentation, and express of ideas were increase. The students’ concept mastery also increase with the average value of N-gain was (61.68). So, it can be concluded that the using of audio visual media with TPS model was effective to increase students’ learning activity and concept mastery.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas media audio-visual dengan model TPS dalam meningkatkan aktivitas dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretes postes kelompok ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 3 dan XI IPA 4 yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes, postes dan N-gain yang dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji U. Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas bekerja sama, presentasi, dan mengemukakan ide/pendapat mengalami peningkatan. Penguasaan konsep siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-gain (61,68). Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan media audio-visual  dengan model TPS efektif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas dan penguasaan konsep siswa.Kata kunci : aktivitas, media audio-visual, penguasaan konsep, TPS

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determine question quality of boy and girl students, and the differences of the question quantity and quality between boy and girl students base on Bloom taxonomy. The design of the research was simple descriptive. The samples were students of class XI IPA1, XI IPA2, XI IPA3, and XI IPA4 that selected by purposive sampling. The qualitative data was descriptive of students question quality. Data were analysed descriptively and t-test. The results showed that question quantity between boy and girl students were not significant. The question quality of boy and girl students were not different significant with dominant question of cognitive dimension of understanding (C2).Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas pertanyaan siswa laki-laki dan perempuan, serta perbedaan jumlah dan kualitas pertanyaan antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berdasarkan taksonomi Bloom. Desain penelitian adalah desain deskriptif sederhana. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA1, XI IPA2, XI IPA3, dan XI IPA4 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi kualitas pertanyaan siswa. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data deskriptif dan uji beda (uji t). Hasil menunjukan bahwa jumlah pertanyaan siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan tidak berbeda signifikan. Kualitas pertanyaan yang dimunculkan siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan juga tidak berbeda signifikan dengan dominansi pertanyaan yaitu dimensi kognitif pemahaman (C2).Kata kunci: gender , pertanyaan siswa, taksonomi Bloom

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the influence of using practical method with Jigsaw learning model to the student’s science process skill. This study was a quasi-experimental using pretest-posttest equivalent group design. Samples were VIIA and VIIG that chosen by cluster random sampling. This research data consisted of quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data obtained from the average value of test were analyzed by using U-test. Qualitative data obtained from the observation sheet of learning activities and student feedback questionnaires were analyzed descriptively. The results showed the student’s science process skill was improve with average N-gain 63,05. The student’s learning activities was also improve with average 88.02. Thus, it could be concluded that using practical method with Jigsaw learning model was influenced significant to improve the student’s science process skills and the student’s learning activities in the characteristics of living creatures subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh metode praktikum dengan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental semu dengan desain pretes-postes kelompok ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIG yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian terdiri dari data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-U. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan proses sains siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-gain 63,05. Aktivitas belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata 88.02. Dengan demikian, penggunaan metode praktikum dengan model pembelajaran Jigsaw berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi pokok ciri-ciri makhluk hidup.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, keterampilan proses sains, metode praktikum, model pembelajaran jigsaw

Abstract

The purpose was to determine the quality of the collaboration and learning outcomes of students by using STAD in the Environmental Pollution matter. Research design was simple descriptive. Sample was VIIa students which selected with cluster random sampling. The data form in qualitative and quantitative data. Collaboration quality was analyzed with descriptive percentage. The results showed that student’s qualities is 50%  very good criteria, 35.95% good criteria, 14.06% less well criteria; student learning outcomes was increase, with a gain score 0.42 with the medium criteria individually, and 0.48 with medium criteria in the group by using STAD model. So, the quality of student is very good criteria and student learning outcomes are medium criteria by using STAD model. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kualitas kerjasama dan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model STAD pada materi Pencemaran Lingkungan. Desain penelitian adalah deskriptif sederhana. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA dipilih secara acak dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitas kerjasama dianalisis dengan deskriptif persentatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model STAD kualitas kerjasama siswa 50 % siswa berkriteria sangat baik,  35,95% berkriteria baik, 14,06% berkriteria kurang baik; hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan, dengan skor Gain sebesar 0,42 dengan kriteria sedang secara individu, dan 0,48 dengan kriteria sedang secara kelompok. Jadi, kualitas kerjasama siswa berkriteria sangat baik dan hasil belajar siswa berkriteria sedang menggunakan model STAD.Kata kunci  :  hasil belajar, kerjasama siswa, pembelajaran kooperatif,  pencemaran lingkungan, STAD.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of exposure duration of magnetic field 0.1 mT on the germination of green beans. Research compiled in a completely randomized design (CRD) with a single factor, namely the long exposure of 0.1 mT magnetic field comprising: control (A), 7 minutes and 48 seconds (B), 11 minutes 44 seconds (C), and 15 minutes 36 seconds (D). The parameter measured was the percentage of germination. The results of data analysis at the α = 5% indicates that all treatments of magnetic field affects the germination rate.  The optimal duration exposure of magnetic field 0,1 mT to increase germination rate is 15 minutes 36 seconds (D).  The average value of the test results for the eighth grade students for sub material of Plant Growth using the student worksheet (SW) which is based on the results of this study indicate that SW feasible to use as a learning resource.            Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama pemaparan kuat medan magnet 0,1 mT terhadap perkecambahan kacang hijau. Penelitian disusun dalam   Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor tunggal, yaitu lama pemaparan medan magnet 0,1 mT yang terdiri dari: Kontrol (A), 7 menit 48 detik (B), 11 menit 44 detik (C), dan 15 menit 36 detik (D). Parameter yang diukur adalah persentase perkecambahan. Hasil analisis data pada α = 5% menunjukkan bahwa semua perlakuan medan magnet mempengaruhi kecepatan perkecambahan.  Lama pemaparan yang optimal berpengaruh terhadap parameter adalah lama pemaparan 15 menit 36 detik (D). Nilai rata-rata hasil ujian Siswa SMP kelas VIII untuk sub materi Pertumbuhan Tumbuhan menggunakan lembar kerja siswa (LKS) yang disusun berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukan LKS tersebut layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar. Kata kunci: kacang hijau, medan magnet, persentase perkecambahan.

Abstract

One effort to improve the learning outcomes of natural science subjects, the researchers are interested in examining the effectiveness of cooperative learning. According to the theory of constructivism, learning is a construct knowledge based on prior knowledge. Thus, the ability to beginning students could be expected to affect the learning outcomes. Researchers applying two cooperative learning model type is the type Student Achievment Team Division (STAD) and Group Investigaton (GI) and the two classes. The technique used in this study is proces sampling techniques, and data collection and processing be conducted to obtain data on knowledge and attitudes. The instrument used was a test sheet and questionnaire. To analyze the data the normality test, homogeneity test, t test, and N-gain.Result of different of average from pretest and postest score get 60 percents for experiment class (STAD type) and 40 percents for control class (GI tipe). Result from average scores of questionnare get 70 percents for experiment class (STAD type) and 40 percent for control class (GI type). From the result of count above show that there is significant different and positive influence between knowledge result and student attitude which using coopertative learning model of STAD and cooperative learning model of GI.Keywords: Conservation, STAD learning model, GI, students' Knowledge, Attitudes of students, Mangrove Conservation

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of the matching strategy ndex cards on the activity and student learning outcomes at SD Negeri 2 Kampung Baru Bandar lampung.The design was a pretest-posttest non-equivalent groups. Claster random sampling was used choosing class IV? andIV? as subjects. The results of an index card matching strategy is effective in improving student learning activities, asking question proposing,fact, collecting data, collaboration, and making conclusions. Obtained an average students learning activities have moderate criterion (71.94). Improvement of students learning outcomes (N-gain 67.42), the ability of students from each indicator with average of N-gain C2(68.9), C3(64.9) and C4(64.0). Questionnaire data showed that all students (100%) was pleased to learn the material with matching strategy index cards. It can be concluded that theuse of an index card matching strategy can improved learning outcomes and students learning activities natural resources subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pencocokan kartu indeks terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada siswa SD Negeri 2 Kampung Baru Bandar lampung. Desain penelitian adalah desain pretes-postes kelompok non equivalen. Teknik yang digunakan yaitu teknik claster random sampling,kelas IV?dan IV?sebagai subjek. Hasil penelitian penggunaan strategi pencocokan kartu indeks efektif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa, yaituaspek mengajukan pertanyaan, mengemukakan fakta, mengumpulkan data, bekerjasama, dan membuat kesimpulan. Diperoleh rata-rata keseluruhan aktivitas belajar siswa memiliki kriteria sedang(71,94).Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa (N-gain 67,42), kemampuan siswa dari tiap indikator denganrata-rata peningkatan N-gain C2(68,9), C3(64,9) dan C4(64,0).Data angket menunjukkan bahwa semua (100%) merasa senang mempelajari materi dengan strategi pencocokan kartu indeks. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan strategi pencocokan kartu indeks dapatmeningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi sumber daya alam.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar, strategi pencocokan kartu indeks, sumber daya alam

Abstract

The purpose of this study was known influence of using picture card media toward critical thinking of students. This study design was pretest-postest non equivalent group. Samples were X4  and X5  that chosen by purposive sampling. The data of research qualitative and quantitative. The form of qualitative data was descriptions of learning activities and students questionnaire responses. Quantitative data taken of the average value of test were analyzed using t-test and U test. The results showed that activities students discipline and motivation (88.46), interaction with their partners (79.81) and communication skills of students (69.23) increased. Most of the studens gave a  positive response to the use of  picture card. Critical thinking of students was also improve with average N-gain 51.67. Thus, it can be concluded that learning use picture card media  was influenced to improve critical thinking of students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media kartu bergambar terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretes-postes kelompok tak ekuivalen.  Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X4dan X5 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling.  Data penelitian ini berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai N-gain yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas kedisiplinan dan motivasi siswa (88.46), interaksi siswa dengan pasangannya (79.81) dan kecakapan komunikasi siswa (69.23) mengalami peningkatan. Sebagian besar siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan media kartu bergambar. Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain sebesar 51.67. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan media kartu bergambar berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata kunci: aktivitas, kartu bergambar, keterampilan berpikir kritis
