Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of buffer solution student worksheets based on dicovery learning to impove the SPS related to gender. The method of the research was quasi experimental with 2x2 factorial design. The population was students of grade XI IPA SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung on academic year 2016-2017 with the 11th of science 2 and 11th of science 4 as sample that which was obtained by using purposive sampling technique. Instruments used were students worksheets based discovery learning and conventional, pretest and postest question. The statistical analysis used two ways ANOVA, t test and t test. The research result showed that there was no relation between learn using student worksheets and gender to SPS, student worksheets on learning using was effective to improve the SPS, male student SPSs was lower than female student SPSs that used student worksheets based on discovery learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas LKS larutan penyangga berbasis discovery learning untuk meningkatkan KPS ditinjau dari gender. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Populasi penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung T.P 2016-2017 dengan kelas XI IPA 2 dan XI IPA 4 sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah LKS berbasis discovery learning dan konvensional, soal pretes dan postes. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji ANOVA two ways, uji t dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran menggunakan LKS dan gender terhadap KPS, pembelajaran menggunakan LKS efektif untuk meningkatkan KPS, dan KPS siswa laki-laki yang menggunakan LKS berbasis discovery learning lebih rendah daripada siswa perempuan yang menggunakan LKS berbasis discovery learning.Kata kunci: gender, KPS, larutan penyangga, LKS

Abstract

This research was aimed to develop a student worksheets based on visual literacy on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions topic, to describe the characteristics and the validity teacher and student's response, and obstacles in the development of student worksheets. This research used Borg and Gall design of research and development with only focused on the first five stage. The expert validation showed that the average percentage on content suitability aspect was 80,00% with very high criteria, while construction, and readability aspects were 85,36%, and 90,00% respectively with high criteria.The teachers’ responses on suitability, construction, and readability aspects were 98,00%, 98,60%, and 88,80%, respectively with very high criteria. The students’ responses on readability and attractiveness were 94,67% and 94,40%, respectively with very high criteria. Based on these results, the student worksheet generated by this research is valid and suitable as sources of learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) berbasis literasi visual pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit, mendeskripsikan karakteristik, validitas, tanggapan guru, tanggapan siswa, serta kendala-kendala dalam pengembangan LKS. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan menurut Borg dan Gall dengan hanya berfokus pada lima tahap pertama. Validasi ahli menunjukan bahwa rata-rata persentase aspek kesesuaian isi sebesar 80,00% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi, sedangkan aspek konstruksi, dan keterbacaan berturut-turut sebesar 85,36%, dan 90,00% dengan kriteria tinggi. Tanggapan guru pada aspek kesesuaian isi,konstruksi, dan keterbacaan berturut-turut sebesar 98,00%, 98,60%, dan 88.80% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Tanggapan siswa pada aspek keterbacaan dan kemenarikan berturut-turut sebesar 94,67% dan 94,40% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, LKS yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini valid dan layak digunakan sebagai media belajar.Kata kunci:  Lembar Kerja Siswa, literasi visual, larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to increase student’s flexibility thinking skills on chemical equilibrium subject matter. The population of this research was students in grade XI science class of MAN 1 Metro whose sit in odd semester of academic year 2013-2014. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique and these were XI2 and XI3 of science class. The method of the research was quasi experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-gain between control and experiment class.  The result showed that the average n-gain of student’s flexibility thinking skills of control class was 0,21 and 0,33 for experiment class. Proving the hypothesis showed that discovery learning model was effective to increase student’s flexibility thinking skills on chemical equilibrium subject matter.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir luwes siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA MA Negeri 1 Metro semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014.  Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas XI IPA2 dan XI IPA3.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Efektivitas model discovery learningditunjukkan berdasarkan perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain keterampilan berpikir luwes pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,21 dan 0,33.  Pengujian hipotesis, diketahui bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir luwes pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.Kata kunci: kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan berpikir luwes, model discovery learning

Abstract

This research and development study based the need of assessment to evaluate the teaching in the schools in order to measure the science process skills. This research aimed to develop assessment instrument based on science process skills on the basic laws of chemistry topic and to describe responses teachers and characteristics of the developed assessment instrument. This Research and Development (RD) method by Borg and Gall was used in this research. Characteristics of developed assessment instrument was type of written test consists of 10 multiple choice questions and 10 descriptive questions that measure cognitive description of KPS. This research results based on the responses of teacher, assessment instrument developed have the legibility level at 80,08%, construction level at 88,67% and suitability of topic content level at 87,08%.Penelitian dan pengembangan ini didasarkan pada kebutuhan asesmen dalam melakukan evaluasi pembelajaran di sekolah, agar dapat mengukur keterampilan proses sains. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen asesmen berbasis keterampilan proses sains pada materi hukum-hukum dasar kimia dan mendeskripsikan hasil tanggapan guru serta karakteristik terhadap instrumen asesmen yang dikembangkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (RD) menurut Borg dan Gall. Instrumen asesmen yang dikembangkan memiliki karakteristik jenis tes tertulis yang terdiri dari 10 soal pilihan jamak dan 10 soal uraian yang mengukur ranah kognitif KPS. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan tanggapan dari guru, instrumen asesmen yang dikembangkan memiliki kriteria sangat tinggi dengan tingkat keterbacaan 80,08%, tingkat konstruksi 88,67% dan tingkat kesesuain isi materi 87,08%.Kata kunci: asesmen, hukum-hukum dasar kimia, keterampilan proses sains

Abstract

This research is using for describing classification and inference skills of acid-base material through problem solving model application for student cognitive group in high, medium, and low categories .The subject is 49 students of XI science 4 at 2012/2013 school years in MAN 1 Bandar Lampung. The method for this research is pre-experiment with one shot case study design and descriptive analysis for data analysis. This research will show: (1) classification skill. All student in high category have excellent skill, almost all student have excellent skill and few of them have good skill in medium and low category. (2) inference skill. For high category, almost all of student have excellent skill and few of them have good skill. for medium category, few student have intermediate skill and for low category few student have excellent skill, a half more have good and intermediate skill and for other few student have poor skill. Abstract

This research aimed to describe the skillsofcommunicate and draw conclusions on the colloid matery by using guided inquiry models learning for high, intermediate and low groups of student.  The subjects were students of class XI IPA5  SMA Perintis 1 Bandar Lampung. This research used the pre-experimental method, a one-shot case study design, and descriptive research. The results showed that the skill ofcommunicate in high level group70% were excellent, and 30% were good; in the intermediate level group,45%were excellent, 41,67% were good, and 12,50%were enough; in the low level group, 16,67% were excellent, 33,33% were good and 50% were enough.  The skill of draw conclusions in high level group 80% were excellent, and 20% were good; in the intermediate level group 66,67% were excellent, and33,33% were good; in the low level group 33,33% were excellent, and 66,67% were good. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan mengkomunikasikan dan menyimpulkan pada materi koloid menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing untuk siswa kelompok tinggi, sedang dan rendah.  Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA5  SMA Perintis 1 Bandar Lampung.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen, desain one shot case study, dan analisis deskriptif.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan mengkomunikasikan pada kelompok tinggi 70% sangat baik, dan 30% baik; kelompok sedang, 45% sangat baik, 41,67% baik, dan 12,50% cukup; kelompok rendah, 16,67% sangat baik, 33,33% baik, dan 50% cukup. Keterampilan menyimpulkan pada kelompok tinggi 80% sangat baik, dan 20% baik; kelompok sedang 66,67% sangat baik, dan 33,33% baik; kelompok rendah 33,33% sangat baik, dan 66,67% baik.Kata kunci : inkuiri terbimbing, mengkomunikasikan, menyimpulkan.

Abstract

The aims of this Research was to developing students worksheet. This research used Borg and Gall method of research and development with only focused on the first five stages. The data analysis used was descriptive statistics. The subjects in this research were teachers and students from SMA Muhammadiyah 1 and 2 Kota Metro. The students worksheet was developed based on discovery learning with expert validation result to aspects of content suitability, construction and readable, gained each percentage were 100%, 100%, and 91,67% which can be said valid. The percentage of teachers response to aspects of content suitability, construction and readable, gained each percentage were 100%, 100% and 97,92%, and percentage of studentss response to readable and interest aspect were 98,75% and 95% with high criteria. The obstacles in this research was time limiting given by school during first field research.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan Borg dan Gall yang hanya dilakukan sampai 5 tahap pertama. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa dari SMA Muhammadiyah 1 dan 2 Kota Metro. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif. LKS yang dikembangkan berbasis discovery learning dengan hasil validasi ahli pada aspek kesesuaian isi, konstruksi, dan keterbacaan diperoleh persentase masing-masing sebesar 100%, 100% dan 91,67% sehingga dinyatakan valid. Persentase tanggapan guru pada aspek kesesuaian isi, konstruksi dan keterbacaan masing-masing sebesar 100%, 100% dan 97,92% dan persentase tanggapan siswa pada aspek keterbacaan dan kemenarikan masing-masing sebesar 98,75% dan 95% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Kendala dalam penelitian ini adalah keterbatasan waktu yang diberikan sekolah saat melakukan uji coba lapangan awal.Kata kunci: discovery learning, koloid, LKS

Abstract

Chemistry is one of knowledges that learn abstract phenomena. Generally, chemical learning at this momen only in makroscopic and symbolic dimension, whereas submicroscopic often deserted. The research aim to develop module of multiple representation based on the chemical reaction rate material.Method used on this research is research and development (R D) according to Sugiyono (2008). But on this research, step only arrive to step of main product revision. Research and development on this research have three steps. There are step 1st) needs analysis that consist of literature study and field study, step 2nd ) planning and development that consist of planning preliminary product, develop preliminary product,validation, and preliminary product revision, step 3th) preliminary field test, and main product revision.            Results of this research is development module of reaction rate based on multiple representations  which have characteristic: 1) module refers to the SK and KD, 2) material packaged in units of learning activities, modules arranged in a systematic and attractive, giving rise to interest in reading to students, 3) the material presented in the modules developed chemical, described by multiple representations, 4) accompanied by examples and illustrations that support the material, 5) the language used is simple and communicative, 6) have level of contents suitability is very high that is 91,67 % and have level of aspects graph 94,00 % according to teacher, also have high level of legibilityt is very high that is 90,98% according students. Key words :  module, multiple representation, the chemical reaction rate material

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of the learning cycle model Predict-observe-explain (POE) on the thermochemical material in improving prediction skill and mastery of concepts. The study subjects were all students of class XI IPA 1 SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung   academic year 2012-1013. This study usesthe pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Effectiveness of the learning cycle modelis measured by the gain ternormalisasi. The results showed that the average value of predicted n-gain skills and mastery of conceptsby 0.6 by 0.7. It can be concluded that the POE learning thermochemical material effective in improving skills and mastery of the concept of predicting the criteria are.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model siklus belajar Predict-observe-explain (POE) pada materi termokimia dalam mening­katkan keterampilan prediksi dan penguasaan konsep.  Subyek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa-siswi kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre-experimental dengan one-grouppretest-posttest design.  Efektivitas model siklus belajar POEdiukur berdasarkan nilai gain ternormalisasinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai n-gain keterampilan memprediksi sebesar 0,6dan penguasaan konsep sebesar 0,7.Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran POE pada materi termokimia efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memprediksi dan penguasaan konsep dengan kriteria sedang. Kata kunci: keterampilan siswa dalam memprediksi, pembelajaran POE, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe scientific attitude and improvement of science process skills (SPS) on electrolyte and non electrolyte solution subject using discovery learning. The design of this research is matching only pretest-posttest control group design. Sample were taken by purposive sampling tehnique obtained by class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 3. The results showed that learning with discovery learning model is effective to improve science process skills on electrolyte and non electrolyte solution subjct, the percentage of students belonging to the high attitude category on the attitude of curiosity, conscientious, cooperation, and responsibility, has increased every meeting on electrolyte and non electrolyte solution subject using discovery learning model.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sikap ilmiah dan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit menggunakan model discovery learning. Desain penelitian ini adalah the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas X IPA 1 dan X IPA 3 yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit; serta persentase siswa yang termasuk ke dalam kategori sikap tinggi pada aspek sikap ingin tahu, teliti, kerja sama, dan tanggung jawab mengalami peningkatan di setiap pertemuannya pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit menggunakan model discovery learning.Kata Kunci: discovery learning, larutan elektolit dan non elektrolit, KPS, sikap ilmiah
