Abstract

Despite the increasing number of technologies and levels of educational technology provided by teacher education programmes, valid and high-level integration of technology into learning and teaching processes is not still as expected, like the Google classroom for learning. The study purposively investigated the adequacy of the Google classroom application as a teaching tool in the training of pre-service teachers by their educators. Three specific purposes and questions were raised. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. Pre-service teacher educators of the Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, constituted the target population. A simple random sampling procedure was adopted in the selection of 107 out of 197 Pre-service educators. A -14 item five-point-Likert scale researchers designed a questionnaire with psychometric properties of content validity of 0.90, and a reliability index of 0.81 was used to elicit the needed data from the respondents. The statistics collected were analysed using percentage, mean ranking and standard deviation. Moreover, the findings, among others, revealed that the Google classroom application is not adequate for training pre-service teachers. Thus, it was recommended that the Google classroom application should not be adopted in the teaching of pre-service teachers education programmes since it was found not adequate

Abstract

Teaching materials are part of learning. The lack of variety of teaching materials used can make students less active and enthusiastic during the learning process. Several things can make students excited and active in learning, one of which is by using a QR Code-based pocketbook. This study aims to produce a QR Code-based pocketbook that is valid and practical in terms of validation of material experts, teaching materials experts, teachers, and student responses. The type of development research used is research and development (RnD). The research model used is the ADDIE development model. This research produces a pocketbook based on a QR Code on the material of plane figure of fourth-grade elementary school mathematics content. The QR Code-based pocketbook included in the Criteria is valid and feasible to use. These results are based on the average value of 2 material experts of 88%, the average value of 2 teaching materials experts of 97.75%, and the value of practitioners (teachers) of 100%, student responses 95.29%. Percentage based on these results, pocketbooks can be used in learning

Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulties of students in preparing and making written batik. So, the authors developed a complete module of written batik material for students, especially the PGSD department. This study aims to determine the steps for developing a written batik module for PGSD students and to determine the quality test by experts on the written batik module for PGSD students. The type of research that will be used is research development or Research and Development with the Borg and Gall model in Sugiyono. The types of data that will be used are quantitative data and qualitative data. The data collection technique will be carried out by the process of assessing product design by experts such as learning experts, material experts, linguists, and media experts. In addition, the authors will collect other data from the unstructured interview process as a needs analysis for UAD PGSD students, especially those who take similarity courses at UAD in the 2019/2020 academic year. The result of this research is that the development step is carried out in 5 stages according to Borh and Gall because of the limited time of the research by testing the quality of the experts' assessment of the written batik module for PGSD students, the total value of 275, 09 and the average number is 91.7. These results indicate that the written batik module for PGSD students that has been developed meets the "Very Appropriate" category.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce an Ultaco game media that is suitable for use in mathematics learning on the surface area of geometric shapes for fifth-grade elementary school students. The use of media is very necessary for learning mathematics because it helps students to understand the material well, does not saturate, can increase student activity and interest during learning. The product feasibility test is based on the results of the assessments of material experts, media experts, fifth-grade teachers and fifth-grade elementary school students as test subjects. The results of research and development of Ultaco game media can be concluded as follows: (1) The results of the assessment of material experts get a percentage of 79 .4% is included in the appropriate category, (2) the media expert's assessment gets a percentage of 95% including the very feasible category, (3) the assessment from the fifth-grade teacher gets a percentage of 85.3% including the very feasible category. Meanwhile, from users, Ultaco game media obtained a percentage of 79.4%, so that it can be categorized as feasible and interesting to use as learning media

Abstract

PISA results show that the mathematical literacy ability of Indonesian students is still quite low. The use of textbooks by teachers in learning is still found in the field. Mathematical literacy can be improved by maximizing the use of textbooks that match the literacy aspect. This study aims to analyze the problems in mathematics textbooks that are in accordance with the literacy aspect. Specifically, this study will describe the questions according to six levels of mathematical literacy. The research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The study describes such a situation using the method of content analysis. The sample used is an evaluation question at the end of each chapter. Data collection in this study was carried out by reviewing documents with the help of instruments that contained three components of mathematical literacy and six levels of questions according to aspects of the PISA assessment. Stages of analysis include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the mathematics textbook used as the subject of the study contained every level of mathematical literacy according to PISA. The development of questions at level 3 is mostly found with 44% or as Man as 34 questions from a total of 77 questions that contain aspects of mathematical literacy

Abstract

This study aims to create a product in Indonesian language teaching materials by containing crossword puzzles of Jembers local wisdom that are valid, interesting, and effective when used by students during the learning process. The stages of the product development process adopt the 6-stage Design-Based Research (DBR) approach by Peffer et al. in Gems et al. (2016). The results of product validation and testing obtained the following data (a) the results of validation by validators and educators reached a percentage value of 86.6 with very feasible criteria, (b) the results of large-scale trials on products, the value of completeness of student learning outcomes reached a percentage of 92% with 93% of the total respondents giving a positive response to the teaching materials, and (c) the teaching materials developed were very valid, effective and interesting to use in the learning process based on the results of validation, student learning outcomes, and student responses toward the teaching materials

Abstract

In elementary mathematics learning there is fractional number material. This material has a level of difficulty that is quite challenging in learning. The concept of fractions is taught as much as possible by using more realistic and contextual concepts and minimizing abstract teaching. In abstract mathematics learning, students need tools in the form of media and teaching materials that can clarify what will be conveyed by the teacher so that students understand and understand more quickly. This study aims to (1) develop a mathematics module on fractions for elementary school students; (2) determine the feasibility of the mathematics module on the developed fraction material. This study applies a design research type of development study. The stages carried out in the design research type of development study are: (1) Preliminary research, (2) Prototyping stage, (3) Summative evaluation, and (4) Systematic reflection and documentation. The instruments used in this study were a validation questionnaire by experts and a student response questionnaire. This research has resulted in a module developed in the form of a mathematics module on fractional number material for fifth grade elementary school students to improve students' mathematical literacy which refers to the 2013 revised 2018 curriculum. The feasibility of the developed module is very feasible with an average eligibility percentage of 93.6%. The practicality of the module used is very practical with an average practicality percentage of 94.34%.
