Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test non-equivalent group design. The population in this research is all of the students on class X in SMA Negeri 1 Marga Tiga and the sampling technique is total sampling. Data are collected by documentation and test. Data are analyzed with descriptive statistics to compare the mean scores of N-Gain  obtained by each student.  The results of the analysis shows that (1) the student’s geometry problem solving ability with cooperative learning STAD is higher than the conventional learning, (2) the student’s geometry problem solving ability with wingeom software in cooperative learning STAD is higher than the conventional learning, (3) the student’s geometry problem solving ability with wingeom software in cooperative learning STAD is higher than without using wingeom software. This research shows that the cooperative learning STAD by using the wingeom software has a significant effect on the high school students’ geometry problem-solving ability. The finding of this research shows that the students are still having difficulties in solving the problems, especially when the students have to look back whether the finishing is right or not.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to increase the mathematics result of study by implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) learning  with picture media. The method of the research was Classroom Action Reserach. The instrument of data collection used test. Technique of data analysis used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research result showed mean the result of study in cycle I is 56,30 and cycle II is 76,10. Then Think Talk Write (TTW) learning with picture media can increase the mathematics result study.Keyword : mathematics result study, picture media, think talk write

Abstract

Education has a very important role in improving the quality of human resources. Therefore, education is expected to be one of the ways to prepare generations of qualified human resources and has the ability to deal with the progress of time and technology development . In order to enhance the quality of student mastery of competencies in the development of prospective teachers in this study will be applied to the activities in the process of lesson study in lecture . Lesson study is a model of coaching to people who work as both teacher educators and lecturers through collaborative learning and assessment in building sustainable learning communities. The purpose of this research is to improve the competence of prospective mathematics teachers through lesson study . More specifically , this study aims to describe the efforts made to improve the pedagogical, professional competence , social competence and personal competence prospective mathematics teachers through lesson study . Subjects in this study were students who took the micro teaching courses totaling 15 students , divided into 3 group . This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study is to develop the competence of prospective mathematics teachers through lesson study . Lesson study conducted collaborated with Action Research activities ( Action Reseach). The results of this research activity is the implementation of lesson study to greater competence to prospective teachers teaching mathematics through the micro subjects namely: pedagogical competence categories were 80 % and 20 % lower, professional competence categories were 46.7 % and 53.3 % lower, personal competence 100 % category being and social competence categories were 86.7 % and 13.3 % lower .

Abstract

The purpose of this research is developing the cooperative model by using the realistic approach in Mathematic Statistics I. As the form of development and research, collecting data done through  observation method, questionnaire, interviewing, and a test. The step of  this research are introduction study, plan, develop and evaluation. Based on the introduction study, was developed of cooperative instructional and realistic approach instructional. Syntax in cooperative instructional model done by realistic approach  is running well and  there are  increasing of activity, response and student’s learning achievement, and difference of  probability explanation using realistic approach. Syntax instructional of the model are 1) material explanation 2) group discussion by using context, model, alternative in problem-solving and finally concluding of all, 3) the group member is given the quiz individually, and 4) the score and reward are given to the group. Keywords: cooperative instructional model, mathematic statistics I, realistic approach

Abstract

The aims of the research is to describe the thinking process at senior high school students in solving the application problems of the derivative function viewedfrom personality type choleric. The research was a descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the research were students of class XII Senior High School 1 Surakarta, who has personality type choleric. The results of the research showed that thinking process students in solving the application problems of the derivative function for choleric student: (a) reading the problem and creating an image, understanding who is known to convert information into mathematical form, and looking the problem able to know the things in question, (b) devising the planning well, connecting the first equation with the planned solution, solving problem according to the planned solution but only using one way solution, (c) substituting the answers into the first equation and determining maximum value of the function

Abstract

Critical thinking skills of mathematics mastered by students is very important, especially in the competition of globalitation era. An approach that can improve both of them is contextual approach in learning. This research aims are to determine: The Improvement of students critical thinking skills between the class which used contextual approach in learning and the one which used conventional learning. Quasi-experiment methods was used in the research  and the design was "pretest-posttest non equivalent control group". Population of this research was the students of SMP Negeri 3 Menggala and class VIII C and VIII D as the research sample, technique of samples used purposive sampling. Data collected by the instrument test critical thinking of mathematics. The improvement of critical thinking skills data analysed by using the t- test. The findings of this study indicated:  The Improvement of students critical thinking skills between the class which used contextual approach in learning was better than which used conventional learning. In table t-test indicated sig < α is 0.001 < 0.05Keywords : contextual approach, critical thinking skills of mathematics

Abstract

The aims of this research was to know difference increasing especially  ability in Plan and Do between lesson study-based learning and not(conventional) learning. Furthermore, the second aim was to know the effect of lesson study toward increasing of pedagogy competency and impact of prospective teachers in teaching. The methodology of this research was using descriptive qualitative with amount of prospective teachers is 13, then the prospective teachers conducted Plan and Do respectively 3 times meeting using lesson study and conventional. The results showed that the effect was very positive where the learning process of Plan and Do using lesson study was better than conventional learning. Besides that, based on the observation and valuation showed that lesson study-based learning was better than conventional learning. The effect could also influence for students and prospective teacher positively

Abstract

The research was conducted to find out the influence of Group Investigation (GI) of Cooperative Learning methods toward the student’s ability of mathematical reasoning. The research design was quasi-experimental the nonequivalent posttest-only control group design consisting of one experimental class (Group Investigation of Cooperative Learning) and one control class. The research population was all the second-semester students of VIII grade of MTs Negeri 1 Lampung Timur in the academic year of 2015/2016. The research instruments used were mathematical reasoning ability test. Data Analyze mathematical reasoning ability was used independent sample t-test. The results showed that: (1) mathematical reasoning ability using Group Investigation of Cooperative Learning was higher than conventional learning.

Abstract

The aims of the research is to describe the thinking process at mild intellectual disability students to solve mathematics problem. The research was a descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the research was students of grade eight SMPN 5 Metro. Technique analyzing of the data were: (1) classifying the data, (2) presenting the data, and (3) concluding the data in each categories. The results of the research showed that thinking process for mild intellectual disability students : (1) mild intellectual disability students can establishnment understanding in thinking process; (2) mild intellectual disability students can’t establishnment opinion and students cant’t using the right strategy to solve mathematics problem; (3) mild intellectual disability can’t give conclusion.Keywords: mathematics problem, mild intellectual disability, thinking process

Abstract

The learning process is a process that contains reciprocal relationships between teachers and students, which takes place in an educational situation to achieve a particular goal. This interaction or mutual relationship between teachers and students is a key requirement for the process. What we are seeing in schools, teachers are too active in the learning process, while students are made passive, so the interaction between teachers and students in the learning process is not effective. To create effective mathematics learning requires appropriate learning models to solve and solve problems related to mathematics learning. Problem solving is one of the goals of learning mathematics. Learning math so that it can stimulate the development of ability. One strategy that can be used to create effective learning and. Problem posing decline on problem-making by students based on certain criteria, namely the solution of pre-suggestion (for question), in the solution pose (break the question), post a solution pose (similar problems)
