Abstract

This research aims to develop the student activity sheet material broad flat wake discovery based learning methods for secondary school students are valid and practical and how the potential effect of the use of student activity sheet based discovery learning method for junior high school students. The method used is a method of research and development (development research). Stages of development research done of the preliminary phase which includes the analysis and prototyping stage (designing) and evalution formative stages which include self evalution, expert reviews, one to one, small group, and a field test. Based on the results of the analysis of the product, obtained LKS discovery based learning methods are valid and praktis.Valid seen from the results of expert assessment is based on content, construct, and languages. Practical seen from the observations of the trial small group where students can complete a given student activity sheet. Based on the results and final grades on students' ability test VII.1 SMP Negeri 3 Palembang done individually than 35 students that there were 15 (42.85%) of students categorized as very good and 20 (57.14%) students including both categories. Overall average grade student ability VII.1 is 78.85 which means that the learning outcomes of students belonging to either category. Based on the analysis of student learning outcomes, it can be concluded that student activity sheets that have been developed have potent

Abstract

This research is motivated by the ability of Habits of mind that is very supportive of the learner's appearance in everyday life. Habits of mind is the root of the students' strength in exercising their ability to determine solutions in a problems. Classroom is a condition or environment they occupy as they study. Therefore, teachers really should be able to see the habits of the student's mind when the learning process occurs and teachers have a minimal important role to remind students of the importance of the habits of mind, so they are helped in completing various tasks, especially in mathematics. Habits of mind (HOM) is a tendency to behave intellectually or intelligently when faced with problems, especially problems that are not immediately known to the solution. HOM there are 16 indicators and in this study the researchers gave a HOM questionnaire to 78 students with the results of research that there are 13 students included in the high category, 56 students who are in the medium category and 9 students in the low category.

Abstract

Teaching materials is one important component in learning because teaching materials can be used for independent study. On the other hand, the lack of teaching materials are on open-ended problems leads to an underdevelopment of creativity in learning. With the open-ended problems, students are expected to have more than one solution to solve problems in everyday life, especially in mathematical problem solving. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials based on open-ended valildly, practically and effectively in the subject of linear algebra. This research is the development by using Plomp models which consists of three stages: preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment. Data collection technique through observation, questionnaires and tests. The instruments used were observation sheet, questionnaire sheet and a test sheet. Based on result of the research that has been done shows that the teaching materials is based on open-ended in the subject linear algebra that have been developed otherwise valid with a value of 3.43, practice with a value 3,11 or in the percentage reached 77,75%, and effective with value of learning outcomes experiment class (use teaching materials developed) higher than control class.

Abstract

Each teacher is required to have pedagogic, personality, professional, and social competence. Professional competence refers to the ability of mastery of learning materials widely and deeply that enables to guide learners meet the established competency standards. Based on this, every mathematics teacher candidate must have good mastery of school mathematic materials. This study aims to determine the profile of mastery of school mathematics materials students of mathematics education program semester VI. It is important to know the readiness of students to become professional math teachers. This research is a descriptive research. The study sample consisted of 2 classes with 48 students. Data collected through the test. The test results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the mastery of mathematics materials of students school semester VI is very low at 22.5%. This indicates that students as math teacher candidates do not have professional competence. The results of this study is expected to be a source of information for stakeholders to develop learning and curriculum that are able to prepare students who are competent in mastery of school mathematics materials

Abstract

In higher education need to apply the process of teaching, coaching, and training both to students. Implementation of teaching, coaching, and training should be conducted in a professional manner because students are required ready to plunge into human society as an adult, responsible and forward-minded. Three aspects should be offset by improved performance in designing devices lecturer and the learning process. One effective way to improve the quality of learning undertaken by lecturers is to implement Lesson Study is designed so well that it will make a professional and innovative faculty. Lesson study is a vehicle for the development of the faculty, where the target is learning to the learning process. The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of teaching faculty of mathematics education through lesson study that starts from perancanaan, implementation and evaluation of learning. As well as provide learning among fellow faculty of mathematics education, especially the development of new lecturer to senior lecturer to student learning. Subjects in this study 4 dilakanakan professor of mathematics education in four subjects. The conclusion from this study is the implementation of lesson study activities can increase the performance of the education faculty of mathematics at the lecture. This is shown by research that showed an increase from cycle I to cycle II. Although there are some indicators that are not increasing but still in good category

Abstract

The purpose of this study is find math learning scenarios format with active student learning method of learning mathematics by using multimedia power point to determine how much influence can enhance the activity, discuss the skills and student learning outcomes. Subjects examined or samples studied were students who study at grade students geometry IX.2 SMP Negeri 3 Batanghari, East Lampung. This study occurred during the three months using three cycles. The variables measured in the study include the involvement of the student in the learning process, skills in using media power point and student learning outcomes. Conclusions of this research is that it can increase the creativity of teachers using a variety of learning resources and selection methods that can encourage the creation of a learning process student active learning with contextual approach through multimedia. Can enhance the activity, and fun atusiasme students during the learning process, improve students' skills in solving problems and improve learning outcomes, especially the material geometry.

Abstract

English Mathematics course mostly deals with comprehension questions, grammar and vocabulary related to the field of Mathematics. The goal is that students have the confidence in communicating using English as well as utilize various sources of English teaching materials. But in reality, they usually experience several problems as the medium of instruction changes from their mother tongue to another language. This phenomenon in the case of Mathematics education brings the consequences faced by Mathematics educators. This paper describes the understanding of Mathematical concepts in English textbooks (Fraction) on the students of English Mathematics Study Course of Mathematics Education of Madura University. The data that used in this research is the result of the translation scripts of students at the Mathematics education department on the fractional concepts in English textbooks, observations on the student presentation and interviews. The result of this research are, Subjects still have not been able to understand the meaning of fractions that are linked in real objects and clear Mathematical models, subjects still used word-for-word translation, translating without providing meaningful information and also lack of vocabulary.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to increase the student learning outcomes by implementation of cooperative learning model of Make A Match. The method of the research was Classroom Action Reserach. The data collected by the observation sheet, formatif test sheet (test student learning outcomes). The results of the study implementation of cooperative learning model of Make A Match proven to improve learning performance followed by increased the student learning outcomes, enthusiastic students to participate in learning. The result showed that  Percentage student learning outcomes 41.6 % in the first cycle to 93.3 % in the second cycle .

Abstract

This research aims to develop an open ended domica-based cards in improving creative thinking ability of elementary school students on the material fractions and find out the results of its development. The development was done by using Plomp model which consists of: (1) the initial Investigation, (2) design, (3) the realization/construction, (4) the testing, evaluation, and revision, (5) implementation. The research subjects at the the testing, evaluation, and revision phase is 38 6th grade students of SDN Kenongo 1 Tulangan Sidoarjo. While in the implementation phase, the ubject is 40 6th grade students SDN Kalitengah 1 Tanggulangin Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques use creative thinking tests, observation of students' creative thinking activities, questionnaires, and documentations. The results concluded that the open ended domica-based card to enhance the creativity of elementary school students produced two sets of cards in the material of common fraction and mixed fractions, as well as a set of cards consisting of whole fractions sub material (regular, percent, and decimal fractions), each of which contains 66 cards. Domica-based card open ended trial results good quality because it has met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness to train the creativity of students in the aspect of flexibility, elaboration, and novelty.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to know: (1) Which one more effective, learning using discussion with realistic mathematics  approach or a conventional learning. (2) Which one gives better mathematics learning achievement, student with personality types Sanguine or Phlegmatis. (3) Which one more effective for each personality typeof students, learning using discussion withPMR or a conventional learning.This research used quasi experimental method with its population included all of students of state junior high school in East Lampung Regency. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random sampling. The size of the samples was 202 students. The data collection technique were the document that was the last of examination theseven grade for initial capability data before the experiment, achievement tests for mathematics student achievement data, and questioner of personality types. The data was analyzed using analysis of variance. The conclusions of the research were as follows: (1) learning mathematics using discussion with PMR is more effective than learning mathematics usingdiscussion with conventional approach. (2) Students with personalitytypesof Sanguinenor Phlegmatis have the same mathematics achievement. (3) For each personality type of students, learning using discussion with PMR approach is more effective than learning mathematics the method of discussion withconventional approach.
