Abstract

This study aims to determine the preservation of the rejung tradition as a local cultural heritage: a study of the role of customary stakeholders in Air Teras Village, Talo District, Seluma Regency. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used is symbolic interaction theory according to George Herbert Mead (mind, self, society). Mind in the research, traditional leaders conduct cultural socialization activities by using local language in explaining rejung as a symbol and language of local culture, connecting the meaning of rejung with social reality. Self (self), traditional leaders conduct direct social interactions in shaping the identity (sefl) of the younger generation by directly involving them in training activities and cultural activities. Society involves the younger generation in various cultural activities and cultural competitions that will strengthen the role of the younger generation as cultural preservationists.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the phenomenon of FOMO (fear of missing out) fashion trends as part of a lifestyle based on the perceptions of Communication Science students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. The FOMO phenomenon is triggered by the use of social media which encourages students to always keep up with fashion trends. This research uses qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. The theory used is the S-O-R theory (Stimulus-Organism-Response) by Hovland (1953), which explains that the stimulus or stimulus comes from the external in the form of fashion trends on social media, then processed internally in the form of attention, understanding, acceptance by students so as to produce a response in the form of behavior following the trend. The results showed that Communication Science students interpret fashion trends as a means to build self-image, increase self-confidence, self-comfort, and maintain existence on social media.

Abstract

Social media platforms such as TikTok have transformed digital marketing strategies, particularly in the beauty industry. Skintific, a growing skincare brand, leverages creative content on TikTok to build its brand image and attract consumer interest. This study analyzes the influence of product quality and content marketing on consumer purchasing decisions. Using a quantitative approach, questionnaires were distributed to 100 TikTok users who were familiar with and had purchased Skintific products. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that both variables had a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions. Content marketing proved to be more dominant in creating initial attraction and building consumer trust. These findings suggest that the combination of superior product quality and creative content marketing can enhance the effectiveness of digital marketing strategies and drive purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji motivasi orang tua, perubahan perilaku anak, serta strategi komunikasi orang tua dalam mengawasi penggunaan smartphone pada anak usia dini melalui perspektif teori Parental Mediation. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi Edmund Husserl dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap lima orang tua yang dipilih secara purposif dan didukung oleh studi literatur. Validitas data dilakukan melalui triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dua motivasi utama penggunaan smartphone dari orang tua untuk anak yaitu untuk menenangkan anak dan sebagai media edukasi. Sementara pada perubahan perilaku ditemukan bahwa penggunaan smartphone secara berlebihan berdampak pada ketidakstabilan emosi, penurunan interaksi sosial, dan gangguan kesehatan fisik pada anak. Untuk strategi komunikasi yang diterapkan para orang tua adalah co-use, supervision, active mediation, restrictive mediation, dan technical mediation, di mana mereka menyesuaikan dengan kondisi anak masing-masing.

Abstract

Majalah Tempo Edisi Khusus 10 Tahun Jokowi berjudul Nawadosa Jokowi merupakan majalah yang mengangkat isu kinerja Jokowi selama sepuluh tahun yang tertulis dalam delapan belas berita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat framing berita yang dilakukan oleh Majalah Tempo terkait kinerja kepemimpinan Joko Widodo selama sepuluh tahun. Jenis penelitian menggunakan deksriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis framing Robert M. Entman yang bertujuan untuk melihat pembingkaian berita yang dilakukan oleh Majalah Tempo dalam mengkonstruksi suatu realitas. Peneliti memilih korpus dua belas berita sebagai representasi dari pemberitaan Majalah Tempo Edisi Khusus 10 Tahun Jokowi.  Hasil analisis ini menemukan  bahwa penyajian data pada berita yang dituliskan oleh Majalah Tempo menjadi kunci keberaniannya dalam menuliskan analisis yang kritis terhadap kinerja Jokowi. Kedua, peneliti melihat bahwa Majalah Tempo dalam penulisan berita kepemimpinan Jokowi cenderung mengambil sikap keberpihakan kepada nilai-nilai demokrasi sehingga menimbulkan persepsi negatif.
