Abstract

Abstract The research aimed to describe the psychological aspects of the character in the novel Pada Sebuah Kapal (PSK) and their implications of literature teaching in junior high students. This research was a descriptive research using character psychoanalysis and psychology approach with descriptive methods and strategies of content analysis. The research procedure conducted by step of procurement of data through the determination of the unit of analysis, then the data recording process of inference and analysis. Data analysis was carried out through the following activities: (1) reducing the data, (2) study the data, (3) verification of the data, (4) checks the validity of the data through researchers perseverance technique. The results of research showed the evidence that: (1) there were two character figures depicted in PSK novel such as flat dispositive (Flat character) and round dispositive (round character), (2) the psychological aspects were revealed in  PSK novel that character figures was influenced by childhood and firmly held view of life, selfish and rude character affects the pair life, (3) the behavior of children who were too spoiled would have a negative impact, causing the attitude and behavior of the selfish and rude. The bad temper carried the psychological burden, and (4) the content of PSK novel charge was mostly a reflection of the author's life experience, Nh. Dini. The results of the research have implications for literature teaching in junior high school. Proved that the PSK novel contained the elements of beauty (dulce) and useful (utile) therefore PSK novel deserved to be one choice for junior high school students in studying literature. Through knowledge of the nature of the character in PSK novel, the students could learn a person's personality as one of the competencies that were able to develop a personality and add insight into humanity involving a core element of literary appreciation namely cognitive, emotive and evaluative. Abstract

The problem of this reseach are: 10 how is the existence of oral literaly ecolagy in Dondo Sub-district Tolitoli regency? 2) How is the form of oral literature (its relation to the environment) ekolagy in Dondo Sub-district Tolitoliregency? This reseach intenst to discribe the existence of oral literature ecology and form of oral literature. The reseach result of the existece of oral literaly in ethnic Dondo relate to the environment reveals that there are several literaly-styl stories in the form of legens: legend of Toga lake, legen of tando Tugan, legen of Sanjangan lake, epik of lanoni. Myth: Nunue (Bayan Tree), Antulan and Karampua, prohibition in trowing oil to the soil or hot water to the ground, cooking vegetables that have segmens, and wash laundry of menstruation to the rive. Literature that is not a story sad funeral song, chid cradle singing, customary rule of Ogo Menambu (draw water), and Mesusian (Petition), legesan (poem), and tatangki (Puzzel).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk membuktikan bahwa pengunaan tehnik Buzz Group Diskusi dapat mempengaruhi keterampilan berargumentasi siswa SMA Negeri 3 Palu. Penelitian ini menggunakan tru eksperimental berdasarkan tujuan untuk menentukan sampel kelompok ekperimental . Instrument pengumpulan data mengunakan test untuk mengukur keterampilan siswa dalam memberikan argument. Pengumpulan data mengunakan statistik deskriftif dan statistik uji t. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa dan diuji melalui SPSS. Ditemukan nilai rata rata dari keterampilan berbicara kelompok experimen adalah 72.64 lebih besar dari kelompok pre test 56.6 . Hasil perbandingan melalui uji t menggambarkan nilai thitung = 2.850  nilai ttable = 2.048 sehinga Ha diterima dan Ho di tolak dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengunaan tehnik Buzz Group Dsikusi dapat meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam memberikan argumentasi di SMA Negeri 3 Palu.

Abstract

Abstract This classroom action research was conducted to improve listening comprehension of grade X students of SMAK GPID Sumbersari through short stories. The subjects of action were 17 students of class X IPA of SMAK GPID Sumbersari. This research had two cycles. There were four meetings in cycle 1 and two meetings in cycle 2. The material was narrative text. The qualitative data were taken from the observation sheets, field notes, and questionnaire and the quantitative data were taken from test 1 and test 2. The researcher found that most of the students were still confused when they listened to the short stories from the recorder since they were accustomed to listening to short stories dictation by their own teacher not listening directly from the recorder, but then they more concerned and looked more enthusiastic so they could understand the short stories that they heard from the recorder. Observation sheet and questionnaire results indicate that they were happy to interact with their friends in group. The researcher found that in cycle 1, there were 11 or 64.71 percent students who were successful with the test and 6 students or 35.29 percent students who were not successful yet. After reflecting the researcher revised the plan based on three aspects: preparation, time management, and action. In cycle 2, there were 15 or 88.24 percent students who were successful and 2 students or 11.76 percent were not successful. Both the percentages indicate that there were enhancements of the students who succeed in cycle 1 of reaching KKM (70) eventually increased in cycle 2. Thus, it is concluded that this technique is effective to be applied to students’ listening comprehension. Keywords: Improving, Listening Comprehension and Short Stories

Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to describe the application of SQ3R method to improve reading comprehension of class XII TKJ 1 SMKN 1 Poso, (2) to describe the result of SQ3R method to improve reading comprehension of SMKN 1 Poso student's article. The type of this research is classroom action research following Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart, which is carried out cyclically through 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Location of research in class XII TKJ 1 SMKN 1 Poso, research subjects are researchers themselves and students of class XII TKJ 1, amounting to 26 people. The study was conducted in academic year 2017/2018, ie during the month of June to August 2017. Technique of collecting data using test and non test. The reading comprehension test has been adapted to the stages of the SQ3R method, whereas the non-test technique uses an observation sheet and documentation. Data analysis techniques using quantitative and qualitative techniques. To test the validity of the test the researchers used expert judgment and grid reading comprehension tests. As for the validation test sheet validity with member check technique and the grating of the observation sheet. To reveal the results of research the researchers used 3 steps data analysis according to Milles and Hubberman namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions and verification data. The result of the research shows that the application of SQ3R method can improve the reading comprehension of the students of class XII TKJ 1 SMKN 1 Poso, this is shown by the students, (1) in the survey stage the students are able to find the outline of the text content and determine the main idea of the paragraph. ) at the question stage the student is able to make a question using the 5W + 1H, (3) principle, at the read stage the student is able to answer the previous question, (4) at the recite stage the student is able to find the important points in the reading and summarize the contents of the article with using their own language, (5), students are able to review the contents of the article by recalling the questions and answers that have been compiled. Stages in the SQ3R method are related to each other. The result of the SQ3R method can improve the learning achievement of students' understanding comprehension, with the following indicators: (1) the reading comprehension value of the students rises from pre-action, cycle I, and Cycle II, (2), the total number of completed students also rises by pre-action, cycle I, and cycle II. The average increase in test results on pre-action 60, 76%, increased by 30.77 in the first cycle to 76.15%, and increased by 46.15% in the second cycle average to 82, 57%, up by 6, 24%.

Abstract

Berasarkan latar belakang penelitian, rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah langkah-langkah penerapan media gambar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas XB SMAN 2 Dampelas? Dan  apakah dengan menggunakan media gambar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas XB SMAN 2 Dampelas? Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah penerapan media gambar dalam menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas XB SMAN 2 Dampelas dan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas XB SMAN 2 dampelas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah  penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) dengan menggunakan media gambar  dengan menggunakan prosedur penelitian tindakan kelas pada penelitian ini terdiri atas empat tahap, yaitu: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pada siklus I masih terdapat lima siswa yang belum mencapai nilai ketuntasan minimal sebesar 67, untuk itu dilakukan tindakan siklus II. Pada siklus II materi yang diberikan sama dengan siklus I, namun pada siklus II guru lebih memfokuskan pembelajaran pada kesulitan atau kekurangan yang dialami siswa pada siklus I. Pembelajaran kembali menggunakan media gambar, namun gambar yang diberikan berbeda dengan siklus I. Pada siklus II ini guru dapat mengoptimalkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi. Dari 35 siswa yang hadir mengikuti pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi pada siklus II sudah mencapai batas tuntas minimal 67, ditunjukkan dengan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 79,5 yang naik dari data awal dan siklus I. Dari data awal yang telah diperoleh, siklus II meningkat sebanyak 22,3% dan dari siklus I meningkat sebanyak 12,4%.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to describe the mechanisms of self-defense and conflict in novel with the title of “Lentera Mustika” wrote by Nisah Haron. In this novel the theory were used humanistic personality theory by Abraham Maslow and personality theory of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud. This research conducted through qualitative or descriptif research by using textual approach, and literature technical. The interactive model of data analysis has done by Miles and Huberman. They were marking, classifying and summarizing all of it and the results of the analysis that is consistent with the theory of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud’s personality and humanistic personality theory of Abraham Maslow. The results showed that, first the inner conflict of Ainur Mustika as a character in this novel through her status as unmarried woman and proposed marriage by two mans Rozario and Zul Farhan. Second, the inner conflict sublimation attitude was reflected when Ainur Mustika begun her relationship with God. Third, the inner conflict rationalization attitude occured when Ainur mustika called by Syed A.H and her relationship with this man. Fourth, inner conflict aggression attitude envisaged  when Ainur Mustika ridiculed to Syed Amirul Hakim and the phone called from Syed Amirul Hakim. Fifth, inner conflict projection attitude was reflected when Syed A.H came in her life and she would like to forget about all of the memories with Syed Amirul Hakim. Sixth the inner conflict about diversion attitude occured when Ainur Mustika has pressured by three mans they are Rozario, Zul Farhan, and Syed A.H and thought about her departure to Shanghai and seventh the inner conflict apathy was reflected when Ainur Mustika  has a relathionship status with Syed A.H. Abstract

The research issue was how the value type, value contents, and the function of islamic ethic value on the story of Moslem Child on Kidh Hidayat Work. This was a qualitative research with descriptive approach. The research data were 38 subtitles in fable called Moslem Child on Kidh Hidayat Work Meanwhile, the data sources were Old Malay prose literature work about the story and supporting theory as the analysis instruments to figure out the research objective. The data collections were done by reviewing documents through the recording and text analysis technique that producing finding. The whole data collected were reviewed by employing qualitative descriptive analysis technique. The analysis results showed that value type, value contents, and the function of ethic value accounted for 303 of ethic values roled by the story actor in the story. Whereas the post analysis results revealed that islamic ethic value type, islamic ethic value contents, and the function of islamic ethic value described that islamic ethic value concerning Almighty God (particularly of Allah SWT; obedience ethic value to Allah SWT, steadyness of faith and faith perfecteness accounted for 175 of islamic ethic value roled by the stroy actor in the story of Moslem Child on Kidh Hidayat Work. The philosophy of islamic ethic value contained in Moslem Child on Kidh Hidayat Work naturally describing Islami way. Therefore, this story can be stated as one of literature learning media on Old Malay prose to guide the characters of the learners on Pancasila characters.

Abstract

The problem of this research consist of two sub-problems. Those are, (1) What is the symbols which found at the Sambulu Gana in wedding ceremony of kailinese ethnic, (2) what are the meanings at the symbols Sambulu gana in wedding ceremony of kailinese ethnic. Design and kind of this research can be categorized as a qualitative research with descriptive approach method. There is the data of this research consist of two categorize, those are (1) symbols which found at the sambulu gana in the wedding ceremony of kailinese ethnic. The technique of data accumulation had done through three steps, they are : (1) direct observation, (2) interview, (3), documentation. therefore, all of the data which found explained and investigated with conclude qualitative descriptive  analisys technique.

Abstract

The Problem of the research 1) How was the application of training methods to improve the ability of reading aloud of the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue, Te researh aimed to describe the reading aloud ability through training methods of the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue North Palu Subdistrict. This research was a classroom action research and the subjects of the research was the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue North Palu Subdistrict. The research was conducted in two cycles, the research results showed that 1) the application of the training method in reading aloud learning the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue North Palu based on the results of observation of student activity cycle I found unsatisfactory percentage (70%) and observation of the teacher activity (71.06%). In the second cycle, it has increased, the observation of the students have a satisfactory percentage (91.67%), while the results of the teachers activity observation were very satisfying (93.4%). 2) The result of applying the training method in reading aloud learning of the third grade students of SDN 5 Kayumalue, it could be seen from the results of the readong aloud test of the training methods in the first cycle was 72.60%. Based on students' acquisition value after the application of the training method in the first cycle was 16 students, there were 8 students who have achieved the criteria of succes (75) and 8 students who have not reached the Criteria of Succes. The factors causing cycle I, the students still found difficulty in reading aloud in aspects of pronunciation, intonation and pause.  in the second cycle, there was a change in learning outcomes, the students who got score above the criteria of succes were  16 students with a success percentage of 91.15%. Therefore, this classroom action research showed that the application of the training method could improve the ability of reading aloud of the students. It was proved by more than 75% of the students could read aloud and achieved the criteria of succes (75). Keywords: Reading Aloud Ability, Motivation, Training Method.
