Abstract

Abstract

This research will seek to compare bamboo reinforced concrete beams and steel reinforced concrete beams experimentally. Special emphasis will be laid on how both sets of beams respond to nominal moments. The main aim is to find out the applicability of bamboo reinforced concrete beams against steel reinforced concrete beams in developing countries wherein bamboo is easily available as compared to steel reinforcement bars. The behaviors in terms of crack patterns will be also discussed including their stress and strain behaviors as well under the same kind of loading and with the same loads applied. Two (2) sets of beams were designed to investigate three (3) parameters namely; compressive strength on concrete, longitudinal reinforcement and transverse reinforcement. All beam cross-sections were maintained throughout the experiment as well as cross-section areas of rebars in each case. The shapes of the rebars were different; round in the case of steel and rectangular in bamboo. All bamboo rebars were treated with Sikadur to improve their bond strengths. The steel reinforced beams were reinforced with 2f10mm for compression bar and 3f10mm and 6f10mmfor tension bars, which correspond to longitudinal reinforcement ratio of 0.42%, 0.63% and 1.26% respectively. Whereas, the bamboo reinforced bars(rebars) used 2 bars 8x8 mm (for compression bar) and two cases of 3 bars and 6 bars of 8×8 mm (for tension bars) corresponding to longitudinal reinforcement ratio of 0.34%, 0.51% and 1.02% respectively. The spacing of the stirrups (6mm steel bars) were 150mm and 300mm for each case. The beams were also investigated for the effect of strengths of concrete of 20MPa and 30MPa.

Abstract

One of solutions to reduce traffic problems on Jl.AP.Pettarani is the separation of paths based on their functions (fast and slow lanes) or called separators. The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of traffic at the separator openings, the effect of the length of the separator openings on the degree of saturation and braid velocity at the separator openings. The performance of the separator openings based on IHCM 1997 on Jl. AP.Pettarani (direction of Sultan Alauddin - Tol Reformasi) during the morning and evening peak hours are seen in the Bina Marga segment separator openings with each degree of saturation values of 2,054 and 2,113, the opposite direction, Mitsubishi segment separator has the greatest degree of saturation at morning peak hour and in the afternoon, 1,893 and 1,980 respectively. The addition of the length of the separator opening results in better weaving performance and the weaving speed will increase.

Abstract

Floods are always a problem, especially in residential areas. This is in line with the development of people's lives. The Way Kuripan River is a river that passes through several villages in the city of Bandar Lampung, which often overflows into community settlements if the rainy season arrives, especially in the Pesawahan, Kuripan and Karang Cities which are downstream from the river. Therefore, it is necessary to have an analysis to find out the river water level that passes through an area if the rainy season arrives whether or not it can be accommodated by the river body or not. Based on the survey in the field, it is known that the width of the Way Kuripan River is found in the Betung Hills, West Tanjung Karang District, which is 20 m and the depth of the river is 4.51 m. if the rainy season arrives, the upper reaches of the Way Kuripan River have a water level that is 0.5 m - 3.0793 m so that the depth of the river is still able to be accommodated by different river bodies with downstream rivers in Pesawahan and Karang Cities where due to sedimentation the depth of the river is only 2.78 m and the width of the river is 10 m, while during the rainy season the river water level reaches 0.5 - 5,216 m. so that the water that passes through is unable to be accommodated in the river body and overflows in the area.

Abstract

The development of infrastructure under public-private partnerships (PPP) schemes is perceived having a relatively high level of risk. Its referring to the scale of investment which requires generated income to be spread over a long time of concession period. Hence, the success of PPP in infrastructure development can not be separated from the appropriate risks allocation to the involved parties that best able to bear the risks. As one of the key steps in risk management process, risk assessment will provides the profile of the risks identified more depth and specific, then allocated to the parties as the mechanism of risks response. This study develops a model based on fuzzy-delphi approach to facilitate a structured subjective judgement of risks in a PPP infrastructure project. The model was tested by taking the case study of 15 identified major risks in water supply project under PPP concession scheme in Indonesia. The testing and evaluation of the proposed model involves a number of officials and staff from related central government agencies as respondents. By applying Fuzzy-Delphi technique, the probability and impact value of 15 major risks were assessed and quantified. Criteria used for model evaluation are comprehensiveness, clarity, ability to apply in real projects, contribution to the better decision, and overall satisfaction. Evaluation result indicated that the developed model is acceptable according to appreciation and approvals from the respondents representing the parties that are most interested with the model implementation in the future.

Abstract

Abstract

In 2015, the government, through the Regional Office V Sumatra River, building groynes and jetties to maintain of the Salido coastline. But development is limited to the Salido coastline, while Salido position is the one with the coastline of Sago which is located in the northwest. So, the author is interested to research whether the construction of groynes have an impact on areas that are not built and whether the groynes effective to deal with the instability of the coastline, by simulating changes in the coastline in the next 10 years. The study results also show that the groynes is effective in maintaining the stability of the Salido coastline. While the impact of groynes in areas not built is abrasion on the downstream side of the last groyne bordering the Sago coastline ± 78 meters, and the deterioration of the coastline ± 18 meters by simulating 10 years into the future. After the construction of groynes, Sago beach will no longer accreting or abrasion (accretion occurs earlier). Abrasion on the downstream side of last groins are likely to increase so that development needs to be done along the Sago shoreline.
