Abstract

This study to determine the success of transplantation techniques are directly applied to the area of rubble, the former fish bombing, to manipulate the substrate is unstable / shaky so it can be used as a medium for transplantation. Research is planned to last for 5 months. The research is based on completely randomized design with water depths as treatment. On nets placed at a depth of 3 meters in length t get the initial seed coral as follows: 73.2 mm, 54.6 mm, 103 mm, 74.5 mm, 83.7 mm, 110.4 mm, 51.2 mm, 67.8 mm 98.5 mm. t the beginning of this term would represent, a basic reference specimens to determine the growth rate of coral transplants. Keywords : Transplantation, Rubble, net scrap, Used Bombing

Abstract

Pembelajaran dibidang Kimia seringkali dianggap sulit bagi pelajar maupun mahasiswa terutama untuk bidang perhitungan kimia dan deskripsi objek yang dipelajari di kimia yang cenderung abstrak, kendala ini mesti dicari solusinya agar bidang kimia yang punya peranan penting di kehidupan dapat dipelajari dengan baik oleh pelajar ataupun mahasiswa, sehingga Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) yang memahami kimia akan dapat termanfaatkan dengan baik demi kemajuan bangsa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan efektivitas Chess of Chemistry (COC) sebagai Media Pembelajaran terhadap pembelajaran siswa pada pokok bahasan Stoikiometri khususnya dan perhitungan kimia pada umumnya, penelitian ini berjenis eksperimen (Experiment Research) yang melibatkan 2 kelas yang mengambil perwakilan dari kelas-kelas IPA yang dipilih berdasarkan homogenitas sebagai sampel. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah pelajar bidang IPA SMAN 8 Kota Bengkulu, pengujian efektivitas dari COC ini dilakukan dengan membandingkan rata-rata nilai dan kecepatan berpikir menggunakan tes yang singkat(dalam rentang waktu yang sempit), antara kelas yang menggunakan Chess of Chemistry (COC) dalam pembelajaran dan yang tidak, dengan membandingkan nilai rata-rata tes, waktu dan nilai rata-rata tes sebelumnya serta membandingkan nilai rata-rata kelas yang menggunakan COC dan kelas yang menggunakan metode konvensional, kesimpulan efektivitas positif diambil, jika nilai rata-rata kelas dengan metode menggunakan Chess of Chemistry (COC) > dari kelas yang menggunakan metode tanpa media Chess of Chemistry (COC). Kata kunci: Pembelajaran, Efektivitas, Media Pembelajaran, Stoikiometri, Perhitungan Kimia, Chess of Chemistry (COC) atau Catur Kimia.

Abstract

Nowadays, the antimalarial drug used showed resistances. Scientists look for new drugs by research especially using herbal plans. The mistletoe(Dendrophthoe pentandra) is previously known having antimalarial activity. This study was conducted to determine in vitro antiplasmodial activity, mechanism of heme polymerase inhibition, and cytotoxicity of water and ethanol extracts of Dendrophthoe pentandra against Vero cells.The results showed that water and ethanol extract of Dendrophthoe pentandra has in vitro antiplasmodial activity, inhibition of polymerase heme, and cytotoxic effect on Vero cells with IC50 values.It can be concluded that Dendrophthoe pentandra has potency as an antiplasmodial.Keywords          :Dendrophthoe pentandra, antiplasmodium, heme polymerase, cytotoxic, Vero cell

Abstract

Bacterial leaf blight disease is one of the important soybean disease caused by Pseudomonas syringae that causes about 20% of yield loss. Bacteriophages can be used for therapy to human, animal, and plant against some bacterial pathogens. Due to the specificity of the target bacteria, bacteriophages can be beneficial for detection of the target bacteria. This research was conducted to obtain the particles of bacteriophage, to study their hosts range against several bacterial strains and to formulate a detection kit of bacterial leaf blight. Isolation of bacteria and bacteriophage was obtained from the soybean field and formulation of bacteriophage for detection kit was done on Laboratory of Virology. The results showed that there were 11 isolates of Pseudomonas syringae, 3 particles of bacteriophage (φGH1, φGH2 and φGH3), and detector paper kit. The result also showed that the composition of the detector materials (Talk, CMC, pH indicators) affect the quality of the kit. Keywords: bacteriophages, bacterial leaf blight, Psedomonas syringae, Detector

Abstract

Analog of curcumin in forms of enone and dienone aromatic is known for their activity as an NF-κB inhibitor. In this study, will be synthesized 2-(4-N, N-dimethylamino benzilidine) cyclohexane-1,3-dione as an analog that predicted has an activity as an NF-κB inhibitor. It was a non-experimental descriptive non-analytical research ehich conducted based on the crossed aldol condensation reaction by reacting 3 mmole p-N,N-dimethylamino benzaldehide and 6 mmole cyclohexane-1,3-dione with hydrochloric acid as the catalyst using solid phase reaction method. This research applied qualitative and quantitative tests. The qualitative tests consisted of organoleptic, solubility, melting point, TLC (with silica gel F254 as stationary phase and ethyl acetate: chloroform (1:5) as mobile phase), and structure elucidation with infrared spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, and 1H-NMR. Quantitative test involved the calculation of the yield. Based on computational analysis, 2-(4-N,N-dimethylamino benzilidine) cyclohexane-1,3-dione showed a better interaction with NF-κB protein with PLANTSPLP score was -69,7895. The outcome of the reaction were yellow colored powder and no odor. The yield values were 80.933%; 78.326%; and 77.229%. Its soluble in ethyl acetate and chloroform. TLC test shown the existence of new chemical substance. Liquid chromatography showed 100% purity. The melting point range were 233,7-234,6oC. The results of structure elucidation by 1H-NMR, infrared and mass spectroscopy tests indicated the compound was 2-(4-(dimetilamino)benzilidena)-4-(3-oksosiklohex-1-enil) sikloheksana-1,3-dion. Keywords: 2-(4-N, N-dimethylamino benzilidine) cyclohexane-1,3-dione, crossed aldol condensation, solid phase reaction, green chemistry

Abstract

Malaria disease is still one public health problem in the world and affect the infant mortality rate, under five and pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to recognize in vivo antimalarial activity from hexane fraction, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts of mangosteen peel and the most active fraction as antimalarial. Laboratory experimental research with a post-test only with control group design and total random sampling design consists of 1 negative control group and 4 treatment groups. 75 Swiss strains which are male mice, healthy, 1.5-2.5 months of age and 20-30 gr body weight were selected randomly to exemine  3 fraction was prepared with levelized fractionated and macerated method. Each treatment group received 0.2 ml dose of drug test suspension 10; 30; 90 and 270 mg/kgBW/day orally, whereas the control group was given arabic gum suspension 0.1% on day 2 to day 4. The parameter was the percentage of parasitemia which was calculated on day 2 to 5. Statistical analysis used was one way Analysis of Variance with a 95% significance level. Parasite growth inhibition percentage data was used to determine the 50% effective dose (ED50) of each drug test dosage by probit regression analysis through SPSS for Windows version 17. The result proves that the fraction of hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of mangosteen peel has antimalarial activity. Ethyl acetate fraction have better antimalarial activity with the value of ED50 63, 272 mg/KgBW among hexane and methanol fraction (ED50 1930,021 mg/KgBW; 217.616 mg/KgBW). Keywords: Antimalarial, Garcinia mangostana, Plasmodium berghei, in vivo

Abstract

Drilling process is a cutting metal process with multiple point cutting are used to make cylindrical holes. The process parameters used in drilling process are cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut. Taguchi-GRA was used for optimizing process parameters. Process parameters and point angle set up exactly so they can reduce cutting force, moment and flank wear. Experiment have done on the drilling process using with S50C steel. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the weight fraction of coir fiber at 5 %, 15 %, 25 %, 35 % and 45 % of the strength of oil-polyester biocomposites shock. Examining cross-section of the test results in order to provide an analysis of the reasons for recommending the feasibility of coir fiber as a natural fiber composite materials that are environmentally friendly. The study was conducted with fiber coconut fiber, matrix type Unsaturated Polyester 157 BQTN, hardener metyl etyl ketone peroxide ( MEKPO ), alkali solution ( NaOH ), ethanol ( C2H5OH ) and H2O. The main equipment used in this study is a tool Charpy impact. From the test results showed that : Effect of treatment of coir fiber volume by immersion for 2 h at 35 % alkali solution is able to improve the strength of shock loads. The best specimens are those that contain fiber volume by 45 %, ie the shock force of 0.085 J/mm2. Based on the shock test the coir fiber is used as a viable alternative to composite reinforcing materials that are environmentally friendly. Keywords: Composites, coir fiber, Alkali

Abstract

The research aims to map hazard flash flood sand Inundation mapping the spatial distribution(affected by) flash floods and analyze the factors causing flash floods in Batang Kuranji Watershed Sub- District Kuranji Padang. The method used is a 3D analysis of data raster DEM, topographic slope, Slope, flood elevation data, and river network data, for mapping the spatial distribution affected by the flash floods using survey methods to map land units as mapping unit. GPS tracking is then performedin the field to produce spatial distribution maps Inundation (affected by) flash floods and flash floods causing factor data were analyzed using the scoring methodo fland characteristics as determinants offlash flood hazard. From this research, the proportion of flood hazard zones with high hazard category with abroad zone of 1320 ha, or 6,15% of the region Batang Kuranji. Medium hazard zones are an area of 1243 ha or 5,7% of the region Batang Kuranji, and low hazard zones in the study region has an area of 18 885ha with aproportion of 88,15% of the total land area ofresearch Batang Kuranji and spatial distribution of the inundations flash floods in the area along Kuranji watershed in Koto Tangah subdistrict, Kuranji subdistrict, Nanggalo subdistrict, North Padang subdistrict, and Pauh subdistrict. Causing factor flash flood in the research area are mass movement that of caused landform, slope, slopeform, long of slope, and geomorphology process. Keywords : flash floods, spatial distribution, inundation.

Abstract

Sintesis 2-feniletil oktanoat dari 2-fenil etanol dan asam oktanoat menggunakan metode refluks Dean Stark Trap dengan variasi perbandingan konsentrasi. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji aktivitas 2-feniletil-oktanoat terhadap peningkatan sensitivitas antibiotik Isoniazid, Streptomisin dan Etionamid pada M.tuberculosis strain H37Rv dengan metode Minimum Inhibitor Concentration (MIC) menggunakan medium MGIT. Key word: 2-feniletil-oktanoat, M. tuberculosis, antibiotik, MIC.
