Abstract

Lithium ion batteries was currently used as an energy source for portable electronic devices and more promising than others. But the conventional LiFePO4 has low ionic diffusivity. Flame spray pyrolysis method was developed as a particle synthesis method. This research reports the effect of LiFePO4 particle size and composition in lithium batteryperformance. As free variables of this research are the carrier gas flow rate and concentration of glucose. From the results obtained, the higher the flow rate of carrier gas so that decrease diffusivity and the higher the glucose concentration so that increase diffusivity.Keywords: LiFePO4, flame spray pyrolysis, diffusivity, particle size, glucose concentration.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to explain the behavior patterns of consumers in traditional and modern markets. The sampling criteria were: women, minimum age 17 years, and had shopped at the Surabaya traditional market or modern market. The result show that factors influence consumer to purchase in the traditional market were low price and strategic location and  in the modern market were comfortable, good layout  and discounted price. The factors that affect consumers reluctant to shop in the traditional market were uncomfortable, unguaranty quality product, bad infrastructure and in the modern market were high price and no bargaining price. Keywords: modern market, traditional market, consumer behavior

Abstract

Minangkabau traditional houses in West Sumatra has a high historical value, but it has the serious damage caused by termite infestation. The purpose of this research  was to determine the types of termites that attack Minangkabau traditional houses in West Sumatra, Research the wood termites (Isoptera) in Minangkabau traditional houses in West Sumatra have been conducted in March and July 2013. Direct sampling methods used for collecting termites on mikrosite. Three species of termites were found  that belong to two subfamilies, those  are Macrotermes gilvus Hagen, Macrotermes sp. Abstract

Research on this activity test aiming to determine the bioactivity and toxicity properties of compounds derived terpenoids, steroids and phenolic heartwood of plant tissue extracts Ndokulo (Kleinhovia hospita L.) on the growth of cancer cells (leukemia P-388). The method used is, sampling plant stem of Ndokulo, preparation, maceration, evaporation, extraction, fractionation, and activity test against Artemia salina and cancer cell. The main Component from n-hexane extract of the heartwood of this plant is β-sitosterol compound. The test against A. salina has the same tendency as the test of murine leukemia cells P-388 so that the primary test to measure the toxicity of the sample A. salina is proportional to the secondary test by measuring sample cytotoxicity against murine leukemia cells P-388. The measurements showed that the extracts have bioactivity against Artemia salina and potentially inhibit cancer cells growth. Keywords : Terpenoids, steroids, phenolic,  artemia salina, leukemia P-388.

Abstract

This research presents an autonomous control system of multi-agent robot soccer. The control system is used to realize the holonomic movement of 2 agent robot to make their trajectory. A movement of multi-agent robot soccer is based on visualization by a camera which located above the robot field. A visualization involves process of color detection, such as marker detection and ball detection. The results will processed into coordinate data to make conversion become angle data, distance data and heading angle of agent robot. The generated data will broadcast serially and the agent robot will receive the appropriate data to make a movement. The movement data will processed by the Distribution of Vector Equation. The resulting motion are linear motion, angular motion, and mixed of linear and angular. The results of the system that have been made are work properly, which have a record of agent robot movement, the  error data  is 1,44%.  Keywords: Broadcast, Color Detection, Distribution of Vector, Holonomic, Multi-agent Robot Soccer,            Trajectory.

Abstract

Corncobs is agricultural waste that have ascent amounts every years. The purposes of this research were to obtain information cellulose alternative source from corncobs for material of CMC; get optimum condition of synthesis CMC with food grade of DS and the characteristic of pH, viscosity, purity CMC. Synthesis CMC through alkalization and carboxymethylation process. The variation of NaOH concentration are 7,93; 10,00; 15,00; 20,00; 22,07% in alkalization and variations amount of NaMCA are 4,5858; 5,0000; 6,0000; 7,0000; 7,4142  gram in carboxymethylation. The result was cellulose content in corncobs is 62,80 %. The optimum condition which obtained from 15% NaOH and 5,04 g NaMCA gave CMC with DS 0, 82 ; pH 7,64 ; purity 99,52 % ; and viscosity 25,40 cps.  Keywords: CMC, corncob, DS

Abstract

Telah berhasil dibuat prototype pelapis penyerap gelombang mikro berbasis Mhexaferit BaFe12-xZnxO19 dari pasir alam pada kabin pesawat. Barium M-Hexaferit (BaM) disintesis dengan metode kopresipitasi dan rekayasa kemagnetannya dengan mekanisme doping ion Zn2+. Karakterisasi sampel dilakukan dengan Difraksi Sinar-X (XRD) dan XRF, VSM, dan DSC/TGA. Pembentukan fase BaM dikonfirmasi melalui data XRD, dimana pembentukan fase BaM terbentuk pada temperatur kalsinasi 1000 0C, konsentrasi doping x=0.5 dengan medan koersivitasnya 0.29 T dan remanensi magnetiknya 33.82 emu/g. Pembuatan cat dilakukan dengan mencampurkan 40 ml cat mobil, 40 ml tinner dan 3 gram Barium M-Hexaferit (BaFe12-xZnxO19). Kemudian dilakukan pengecatan pada plat yang berbahan sama dengan bahan kabin pesawat dengan tebal 2 mm. Setelah itu dapat dilakukan uji VNA untuk mengetahui kadar penyerapan gelombang mikronya. Dari pengujian Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) didapatkan kemampuan absorbsi gelombang elektromagnetiknya dengan dilapisi BaM sebesar -16 dB, sedangkan ketika tidak dilapisi BaM sebesar -7dB. Keywords:   Barium M-Hexaferit, Absorbing, Gelombang mikro.

Abstract

A research concerning microencapsulation of cacao beans extract by spray drying method with maltodextrin and gum arabic as coating material had been done. The research was aimed to obtain microcapsule formula of cacao bean extract with the best physical characteristic as a natural antioxidant candidate. Microcapsules were prepared by the spray-drying method with a concentration ratio of coating (maltodextrin : gum arabic) and extract. The results showed that the morphology of the microcapsules are spherical concave shaped irregularly. Size distribution shows an average diameter of each of the four formula are the formula I (337 µm), II (356 µm), III (354 µm), IV (371 µm), V (383 µm) and the formula VI (356 µm). Results of quantitative analysis showed that the concentration of total polyphenols (equivalent gallat acid) that trapped in the microcapsules with entrapment efficiency of each are formula I (11.38%), II (11.39%), III (13.77%), IV (10.14%), V (9.59%) and VI (8.80%). The conclusion of this study is the preparation of microcapsules with cacao bean extract with spray-drying method of the sixth formula has good physical characteristics, with the highest entrapment efficiency in this study is the formula III as well as the highest percentage of dissolution in the 60th minutes.Keyword: Microencapsulation, Cacao Bean Extract, Spray-Drying Method

Abstract

This study aimed to isolate xylanase producing microbe from hot mud in Lapindo area disaster.  This microbes were supposed to be extremophillic bacterium because of extreme condition of hot mud.  This study comrised of sampling hot mud disaster, isolation and characterization of thermophillic isolates, and characterization of thermophillic xylanase.  The result showed that 14 xylanolitic isolates were obtained and one isolate (C211) had the best xylanase activity.  This enzyme had optimum activity at 50°C and pH 7.0, and showed the hydrolytic activity of 2.60 unit/mL/min. Keyword: xylanase, thermophillic microbe, hot mud disaster, Lapindo

Abstract

Tauge Extract Medium (TEM) and urea can be a good choice in developing the culture of Spirulina sp., because in addition to lower cost also has deposits of macronutrient and micronutrients that support the nutritional content of Spirulina sp. This research aims to know the right combination concentration of TEM  and urea that can produce the highest levels of a protein. Combination executed is as follows: P1 : 2% TEM 80 ppm urea, P2 : 2% TEM 100 ppm urea, P3 : 2% TEM 120 ppm urea, P4 : 4% TEM 80 ppm urea, P5 : 4% TEM 100 ppm urea, P6 : 4% TEM 120 ppm urea, P7: 6% TEM 80 ppm urea, P8: 6% TEM 100 ppm urea, P9: 6% TEM 120 ppm urea, and P10 : walne (control). ANOVA test results (P<0,05) indicates that there is influence of TEM and urea with the protein of Spirulina sp. then test results of Dunnet test showing that P5 have a real difference against control with levels of 20,557 % protein in phase stationary and 19,220 % in phase exponentially. This provides indication that combination of TEM and urea has the potential to become as alternatives  fertilizer in Spirulina sp. culture. To acquire levels of high protein and low cost of fertilizer.
