Abstract

The research aims to determine improvement of student achievement through the application of active learning model type Card Match at SMPN 1 Indrapuri Aceh Besar. The method used is quasi experiment with experimental design used is One Group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were students of class VII4 which amounted to 24 students, sample determination was done by random sampling. Data collection was done by written test in the form of multiple choice questions which amounted to 25 questions. Data analysis using t test formula at significant level 0,05. The results showed that the average pretest value is 39.03 while the average posttest value is 77.11 with the N-gain value of 38.07. Analysis of t test at significant level α = 0.05 with degrees of freedom 23 of the distribution table obtained tcount value higher than the ttable value of 23.64> 1.71. The conclusion of this research is the application of active learning model of Index Card Match type can improve student achievement of SMPN 1 Indrapuri Aceh Besar on the concept of motion system.

Abstract

Amylose and Amylopectin is the material on starch which is the raw material of making Biodegradable plastic, but easy to tear (brittle), so need addition of plasticizer. In this study using Glycerol as plasticizer. This research was conducted at Polymer Chemical Laboratory of University of Sumatera Utara and Physics Laboratory of FMIPA and Universitas Syahkuala with the aim to make Biodegradable plastic and know physical characteristics of three types of tuber starch with addition of glycerol plasticizer. The experiment was compiled using a complete randomized factorial design with three replications. Factors are the types of starch (sago starch, arrowroot, and cassava). Observations include chemical and physical properties of starches and physical properties of biodegradable plastics. Data obtained for Amylose and Amylopectin content are the biggest Sagu starch (21.7% - 62.51%), starch (19.4% - 59.35%) and wood starch (18.0% 60,15%. The result showed that Amilosa and Amilopectin content highly influenced tensile strength and elongation of Biodegradable plastic. The higher the Amylose value, the value of tensile strength and elongation of Biodegradable plastic increasingly but for sago starch has elongation value and strength of tensile strength (97,83 kgf / mm2 - 4,83%) for starch (98,97 kgf / mm2 - 3,38%) and cassava starch (89.83 kgf / mm2 - 2.26%), this occurs because of the impurity and error factor in the thickness measurement of Biodegradable plastic.

Abstract

Oral and oral hygiene is a condition that is free of disorders that can affect the level of oral hygiene such as plaque and tartar. Brushing teeth can prevent the occurrence of food debris on the sidelines of teeth and tooth surfaces. Based on preliminary interviews on 10 children MIN 9 Banda Aceh, 7 of them frequency and time brushing teeth is not true, because they brush their teeth only in the morning when bathing in the morning only. From the preliminary examination conducted by the authors on 10 students, 6 of them had mean bad OHI-S (3.5), and 3 of them had average moderate OHI-S (1,3), and 1 of them had flat good OHI-S (0.8). This study aims to determine the description of toothbrushing to the level of oral hygiene in grade V students in MIN 9 Banda Aceh. This research is descriptive, conducted on 13 June to 14 June 2013. The population is 35 students MIN 9 Banda Aceh. The sample in this research is 35 students. The results showed that the dental and oral hygiene status in terms of tooth brushing frequency in the students of MIN 9 Banda Aceh City has OHI-S criteria being as many as 10 people (58.8%). While the status of dental and oral hygiene in terms of how to brush teeth on Elementary School students Lameu Sakti district Pidie has OHI-S criteria are as many as 9 people (56.3%). And dental and oral hygiene status in terms of brushing time on students MIN 9 Banda Aceh city has OHI-S criteria being as many as 10 people (58.8%). It can be concluded that students who brush once-daily teeth have moderate OHI-S criteria and students who brush their teeth in the morning bath also have moderate OHI-S criteria. It is suggested to students of MIN 9 Banda Aceh to pay more attention to oral hygiene.

Abstract

Ie Suum geothermal manifestation area is a hot sering resource in Ie Suum Village at Aceh Besar regency. Ie Suum hot spring is a stretch of Seulawah Agam mountain and is one of the most active volcanic mountains in Aceh. This area has higher temperature and soil pH compared to areas far from geothermal areas. Therefore, this study can be associated with the unique characteristics of vegetation of geothermal areas will be different from vegetation plants that exist in other vegetation types. This research was conducted by quadrat transect method by determining the location of the research by purposive sampling divided into four point (station) with size determined based on plant habitus that is: herb (1x1 m2), bush / shrub (2x2 m2), pole ( 5x5 m2), and trees (10x10 m2). Data analysis is done qualitatively and quantitatively. Quantitative analysis of data by using vegetation analysis are: density (Kr), Frequency (Fr), Dominance (Dr), and Diversity Index (Ĥ). The results of the study found 23 families consisting of 34 species with a total number of individuals as many as 534 scattered in 4 observation stations divided into herbaceous plants, shrubs, poles and trees. Important Value Index (INP) vegetation in geothermal manifestation area of Ie Suum in all stations was obtained by INP 225,86%. This value belongs to the high category. The species species that have the highest index of other species Axonopus compressus is 17.02%, while the lowest Importance Value Index is Clidemia hirta with a value of 1.32%. The high value of INP Axonopus compressus is due to this species living on dry soil moisture and high acidity. The biodiversity index (Ĥ) of geothermal area of Ies Suum of Mesjid Raya District of Aceh Besar is Ĥ = 3,508. Vegetation of plants in the geothermal area ie suum belong to the high category due to plants that can adapt to high environmental physical-chemical conditions.

Abstract

This study was designed to determine the effort of learning through constructivism-based module to overcome student’s misconceptions of Cell concept in SMAN 2 Sabang. The data collection was conducted in 2016, July to August. The method used in this research was quasi-experimental with one group pretest posttest design. The research was conducted in three classes, i.e. XI IA 1, 2 and 3 with 80 students in total. The instrument used was constructivism-based module and pretest-posttest diagnostic tests with CRI answer sheet to assess the comprehension levels of students. Data was analyzed using the percentage formula. Analysis for student’s comprehension showed 69.20% students understand the concept, 25.65% didn’t understand the concept and 5.15% of students experiencing misconceptions. It was concluded that learning through constructivism-based module was effective in order to overcome student’s misconceptions of cell concepts in SMAN 2 Sabang.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the type of Lichens in the Gugop Pulo Breuh area, Pulo Aceh District, Aceh Besar. The subjects of this study are all types of Lichens found in the Gugop Pulo Breuh area, Pulo Aceh District, Aceh Besar. This research uses Random sampling technique with combination of line transect and quadratic method. Line transect measuring 100 m x 20 m as many as 3 stations with details of length 100 m and width 20 m. Square plot is determined systematically on each station with a size of 10 m x 10 m, as much as 3 plots to obtain 9 plot of squares. The results of the study found 2300 individu lichens samples covering 10 family of 15 species. Lichens found in the study sites consisted of two types of morphology of the talus namely Crustose and Foliose.

Abstract

One type of algae that potentially reduces palm oil mill effluent is Spirogyra sp. Spirogyra sp. Has a wide distribution on the coast of Indonesia and is still underutilized by pond farmers. This study aims to test the efficiency of Spirogyra as a bioremediation agent of palm oil liquid waste and to examine the effect of palm oil liquid waste on the growth of Spirogyra. This research was conducted from March to July 2017. The research design consisted of five treatments, treatment A control (0 mL.L-1), B treatment (25 mL.L-1), C treatment (50 mL.L-1) ), Treatment D (75 mL.L-1) and E treatment (100 mL.L-1). Observation parameters include absolute growth, relative growth rate, doubling time and water quality parameters (pH, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen and COD). Abstract

The danger of formalin may cause respiratory tract irritation, vomiting, dizziness, burning in the throat, liver damage, heart, brain, kidney and central nervous system. However, salted fish marketed is still found to contain formalin. The research covers the field of food and beverage chemistry which aims to describe formalin in salted fish sold in the Traditional Market of Tunas Jaya Village Muaradua. Of all fish populations of spicy fish all were sampled using purposive sampling technique based on texture and color. While the method used is Color Test. From the research of qualitative formalin on the salted fish of Sepat fish, it is known that from 30 samples of salted fish which in the society is expected to be more careful in choosing the salted fish sepat to be consumed not only based on the color and texture, but it does not contain formalin. The conclusion of this research is Formalin on Salted Fish Sepat that sold in Traditional Market of Desa Tunas Jaya Muaradua Year 2012 positively containing formalin equal to 60% in society.

Abstract

The study titled is using human reproduction system E-learning module to improve student's interest in optimizing the potential of multiple intelligence to increasing student interest in optimizing the potential of multiple intelligences in studying human reproductive system concept by using E learning module. This research was conducted on March 10 until March 25, 2015. The method used is experimental and descriptive with a sample size of 60 students consisting of 30 students class XI-IPA 2 and 30 students class XI-IPA 3. Data analysis used to know the difference of improvement of cognitive learning result is t test at significant level 0,05. Result of t test of student interest increase obtained t scor 16,3 ≥ t table (1,98). The conclusion of this research is the use of human reproduction system module through e learning can increase student interest in maximizing the potential of multiple intelligences.

Abstract

The study was conducted in May 2016, the purpose of this research to determine the difference of Egretta garzetta’s daily frequency, male and female behavior in mangrove area Alue Naga, Banda Aceh city. The method used in this study is focal animal sampling method to recording the daily behavior. Data processed using the qualitative and quantitative analysis. Analysis of the frequency of daily activity, carried out with the daily percentage. The results showed that daily behavior of Egretta garzetta include: feeding activity, perching activity, voice activity, moving activity, grooming activity, resting activity and flying activity. The highest time activity is females, that is perching and resting activity with each averaging for 70 minutes / day (28%) and 80 min / day (32%), and the lowest time span males and females is voice activity in average 1 min / day (0.4%). The conclusions derived from this research are: (1) There are 7 daily activities of Egretta garzetta in study location, include: feeding activity, perching activity, voice activity, moving activity, grooming activity, resting activity and flying activity. (2) The highest time activity is females, that is perching and resting activity.
