Abstract

This research aims to analyze the agricultural and agricultural industrial processing sectors which contribute highest role based on input and output market transaction mechanism. The finding showed that the degree of sensitivity index was less than one (0.7678). Similarly, the index of backward linkages for agricultural sector on industries and services was also less than one (0.9199). This finding indicates that the agricultural sector has not yet either used output from other sectors or push investment decisions to use its output. The same finding has also been occured for its supply for input.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to identify scion length and time for a successful graft union of mango plant. The experiment used a Randomized Block Design with factorial pattern replicated three times.  The factors consisted of grafting time (morning, noon, and afternoon), and scion lengths (7.5, 10 and 12.5 cm). The research results showed that grafting in the afternoon produces better graft union seedling.  However, grafting conducted at noon could also generate good graft union seedling as long as the length of the scion was 12.5 cm. The results from the research was still far from perfect. Therefore, it is recommended that the research should be continued in order to identify the treatment consistency.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of various insecticides against beet armyworm pest (S.exigua) and onion yield. The experiment were conducted in Poso district and arranged using arandomized block design (RBD) with two-factor treatment and tree replicates each. The first factorwas the type of Insecticides (I) consists of three treatments and one control, namely: (1) Noinsecticides (I0), (2) botanical insecticides (neem leaf extract) 50 g/l of water (I1). (3) Biologicalinsecticides, the fungus Beauveria bassiana 10 g/l of water (I2) and (4) chemical insecticides,Klensect 200 EC 1 ml/l of water (I3). The second factor was onion varieties composed of: (1) Bima(V1) and (2) Tinombo (V2) vartieties. Variabel measured included: S.exigua population density, percentage of attacks of S.exigua, and dry weight of tuber. The results showed that insecticidestreatment significantly affected the population density and S.exigua attacks on onion crops in thedistrict of Poso. The effectiveness of chemical and botanical insecticides on suppressing thepopulation density and the attack of S. exigua were nearly similar and significantly higher than thatof biological insecticide. The population density and percentage of S. exigua attacks did not differsignificantly in both varieties but dry weight of tuber was higher in Bima variety. There was nointeraction effect between insecticides and onion variety on population density and attackpercentage of S. exigua as well as on tuber weight.Key words: Insecticides, onion, S. exigua variety, and yield.

Abstract

Laying hens farming system of CV. Taufik Nur is the largest of the nine laying    hen farm businesses residing in Sigi Regency.  These laying hen farmings have not yet been able to meet the quota of market demand outside the regency such asPalu city due to their incapability to optimally achieve their production target.  Their production actually can be raisedby means of enlarging their chicken coops as well as increasing the chicken populationsuited to local climatic and management condition.  The purpose of this  research was to analyze the financial feasibility of the laying hen farming system of   Taufik Nur CV.and to analyze the impact of decreasing egg production levels caused by   the chicken death and feed price rises. This research was carried out in October                  to December 2016.  Respondents were purposively determined from the CV. internal parties such as operational workers, manager and an administrative worker.  The NPV of the Taufik Nur CV. was larger than 0 (IDR 2,367,567,450);the IRR was 37.12%  greater than the discount rate of 16%; the net B/C value was 7.64 greater than one; and the PBP was 2.61 less than the age of the business i.e. 2 years 8 months. Based on the results of a sensitivity analysis, this business is still feasible to operatealthough the egg production decrease by 15%and the price of feed concentratesin crease by 37%. Keywords :  Financial analysis, Lying hens, and Sensitivity.
