Abstract

The transition to induction stoves is a strategic effort to support decarbonization and electrification goals. The success of this transition depends not only on policy and infrastructure, but also on technical, social, informational, and institutional readiness. This study aims to develop and validate a readiness assessment instrument based on the Technoware, Humanware, Infoware, and Orgaware (THIO) framework to evaluate the readiness of stakeholders — including household users and institutional actors — in the transition process. A sequential qualitative–quantitative approach was applied, involving a systematic literature review and expert validation to ensure content validity, followed by empirical testing through a survey of 260 respondents. Data were analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The results show that all indicators across the four THIO dimensions are valid and reliable, with factor loadings, composite reliability, and average variance extracted all exceeding the recommended thresholds. The measurement model also achieved a good overall fit. The validated instrument provides a robust and multidimensional tool for assessing readiness for the transition to induction stoves. Practically, it can be immediately utilized by government agencies, energy institutions, and related stakeholders as a diagnostic tool to systematically identify readiness gaps across technical, human, informational, and organizational dimensions, thereby supporting evidence-based prioritization and phased planning of energy transition programs. Overall, this study contributes to strengthening readiness measurement approaches for clean and sustainable energy transitions.

Abstract

Many MSMEs struggle with process variations and inconsistent quality in the highly competitive tofu manufacturing industry. Problems such as unpleasant odors, inconsistent cut sizes, and irregular textures damage customer satisfaction and affect market competitiveness. In light of this, the aim of this study is to provide a systematic framework for identifying and prioritizing high-risk quality attributes in tofu products, using the case study in an MSME. Hence, this research develops a holistic approach that integrates the Kano model and Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to translate customer requirements into measurable technical actions. A survey of 73 respondents to the study identified 12 product attributes, classified into must-be, one-dimensional, and attractive attributes. So, these attributes were inserted in the HoQ-related matrix from which eight technical responses were ranked as mentioned before: high-quality soybean selection, elimination of chemical preservatives, boiling temperature control, and use of food-grade packaging materials. This integration provides a quantitative and systemic basis for process standardization in artisanal food production. It helps MSMEs establish an overarching strategic direction towards product consistency and, subsequently, competitiveness through data-driven quality improvement strategies.

Abstract

Wind tower manufacturing demands exceptionally high-quality standards due to its critical role in renewable energy infrastructure. However, defect occurrences during the production process remain a persistent challenge that can compromise structural integrity, increase rework costs, and delay project delivery. This study aims to identify, analyse, and evaluate the risk of defects in the wind tower production process by using an integrated approach of 5 Whys and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The 5 Whys methodology was employed to trace the root causes of recurring defects, while FMEA was utilized to assess failure modes based on severity, occurrence, and detectability values, resulting in a Risk Priority Number (RPN) for each identified failure. The 5 Whys analysis revealed that the root of the problem lies in the absence of a procedure for verifying work positions before welding. The improvements focused on the design the standard operating procedure, increasing operator competency, controlling process parameters, and validation through trials and inspections to support a decrease in the level of defects and improve product quality.

Abstract

Vocational high school graduates consistently record the highest open unemployment rate among all education levels, indicating a persistent gap between vocational education outcomes and labor market demands. This study examines the contribution of student motivation and stakeholder support from family, school, and industry to work readiness and entrepreneurial readiness, with internship programs as the mediating variable. A quantitative causal-associative design was employed with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 190 respondents were selected from a population of 307 using proportionate stratified random sampling, representing students, supervising teachers, parents, and industry supervisors. Data were collected via validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0. Results confirmed all eight hypothesized mediation paths. Internship programs strongly and significantly predicted both work readiness and entrepreneurial readiness, functioning as the primary mediator that transforms motivation and stakeholder support into concrete career readiness outcomes. School support emerged as the dominant contributor to internship program quality, followed by parental support, industry support, and student motivation. The model explained more than eighty percent of the variance in internship program implementation. These findings provide empirical evidence that improving vocational graduate career readiness requires coordinated investment in internship program quality, teacher capacity building, and entrepreneurship integration, particularly in the agribusiness sector.
