The standard of person's happiness is vary. The West considers material capacity is considered as a sign that someone is happy. But precisely, such a standard will be different if looked at from Islamic worldview. Happiness is not measured by materials by by its closeness to the Creator of happiness itself. This paper examines the strategy for gaining happiness and its model based on perspective of al-Ghazali. Through an analytical descriptive method, this study found important conclusions they are, first, there are groups of people commit immoral acts such as corruption, collusion and so on; believing in that their activities are able to lead to happiness. Whereas the true happiness according to al-Ghazali is not as such, but happiness is a condition when someone is adept to reach the level of Ma'rifatullah. Second, a method to achieve the ma'rifah al-nafs is one way. It is able to be be achieved by contemplating the goal of man’s creation altogether with their duties and obligations and other questions related to the nature of human existence.

This paper aims to determine polygamy in accordance with hadith (Prophetic Tradition) where it is the second source functions as an explanation of the al-Qur’an. In order to gain a more comprehensive argumentation of polygamy in hadith, researcher will come through two approaches, both are linguistic and historical approach. Based on those approaches, this paper conclude that, first, polygamy during the time of Prophet Muhammad was carried out solely to uphold Islam as a way of life and not in the case of indulgence. Secondly, polygamy is prohibited by religion if it harms more than benefits so that in order to maintain sadd al-Dzari>'ah, polygamy should not carried out. Third, polygamy in hadith is allowed with the condition of justice to the wives and children without any desire to seek additional income or done based on economic factors as happened in the time of Arab ignorance (Jahiliyya). Thus polygamy is mentioned in accordance with hadith gives a logical and systematic explanation for life and the survival of a happy and prosperous family here and hereafter.

This article intends to look at the latest issues of Philosophy of Science related to the issue of scientific integration, especially those that developes in Islamic State University (UIN) Malang and Yogyakarta. In some way, the scientific dynamics of UIN are interesting to study regarding UIN’s success that has been done in building a new scientific paradigm accompanying long-period process of institutional development from Institute to University as its most crucial issue. It is understandable that such a development is a very brilliant stage of scientific achievement recorded in history. The scientific dynamics of UIN also continues to be in a spotlight along with the great expectations -and even a concern- of the community. It is on account that in fact, the development of any scientific paradigm connect or impact broadly on religious understanding of general public. If religion (with all its teachings) is understood as being contrary to science all the time, accordingly, it is impossible for science (with all its characteristics and criteria) to meet with religion. Coming through an advanced scientific paradigm, UIN reconstructs both religious and scientific understanding so that they can meet and even negotiate. Moreover, the two Universities have developed new academic traditions as well, characterized by development patterns in the field of research and scientific works of their academic communities.

Charging an authenticity of al-Qur'an is not something new in the realm of Qur’anic studies. They who criticize al-Qur’an seemed to think that they were able to find out an error in al-Qur'an. In fact, there is no single accuse toward al-Qur'an lasts long nowadays. One who was known criticize al-Qur’an was ‘Abdullah ‘Abd al-Fadi, a Saudi Muslim wrote book ‘Is the Qur'an Infallible?’ Al-Fadi was very confident and defiance to say there were 243 errors in the Qur'an so that al-Qur’an is not as sacred as most Muslims believe in. In his book, al-Fadi mentions ten topics discussing errors he found in al-Qur'an, including grammatical errors in Qur’anic language. By reviewing al-Fadi's work, this paper presents several examples of errors stated by al-Fadi, coming with an attempt to counter them by referring to ideas of Muslim scholars, especially grammatical experts and interpreter (mufassir). This paper conclude that al-Fadi's charge is not true. All the grammatical errors of the language put forward by al-Fadi can be refuted through proper grammatical argumentation and it seems that al-Fadi did not understand the Arabic rules properly before indicating errors of Qur’anic grammar before accusing it.

In addition, Ibnu Khaldun’s thought has contributed further to an economic science until becoming a prominent theory in 18th and 19th century far before many experts such as Adam Smith, David Ricardo, Leon Walras, Karl Marx, and the others established their theories. Ibnu Khaldun’s thought is considered fundamental, not only due to the fact that he precedes any Western economists but he is also an expert of extensive sciences besides Economics so he possess an outstanding ability to to write his Economics in a complete perspective. Among his contributions to both macro and micro Economics, Ibnu Khaldun occassionally proposed his Economics in 14th century when Europe was still in pre-modern era. This article departs from an assumption regarding atheism is actually a part of belief rejects the existence of God. Question about God is always interesting to be discussed, in the case of some people believe in the existence of God and some others reject it. So it is not surprising to find terms of theism (believe in God) and atheism (not believing in God) altogether. This study initiated from Western and Eastern thought about divinity and how they prove God’s existence. Western perspective is affirmed to reject an existence of God. God is merely an abstract and has nothing to do with the creation of the universe. While according to Eastern perspective, they believe in the existence of God through a rational arguments that can be accepted by reason. Accordingly, there are argumentations for sciences, knowledge, and nature creation interrelated to an existence of Creator behind and that is “God". Based on this research, it is understood that Islam describes God’s existence by combining reason with faith under the guidance of al-Qur'an and al-Sunnah in order not to violate Shari'a.
