Abstract

Representation is a sign or form of meaning contained in a message. Music is a medium that can be used to give messages to many people. Through music, a wide audience or the general public can be influenced by the messages the music creator wants to convey. Like the message about the image of a mother contained in the song Linked by Nadin Amizah, the song describes the image of a mother. The purpose of this study was to determine the representation of the image of a mother listed in the song Bertaut. This study uses a qualitative approach and uses the theory of Ferdinand De Saussure. The results obtained after doing this research are Bertaut by Nadin Amizah describes various forms of images of a mother such as the love of a mother given to her child. Abstract

Emojis are picture or digital icon size small used for express ideas, emotions, and feeling in communication electronics. Whatsapp as wrong one platform communication electronics, of course no miss from use emojis. Use of emojis on application whatsapp is wrong one part from use a medium. According to Palmgreen (Kriyantono,2010: 211), satisfaction use or gratification obtained (GO) is real satisfaction obtained audience after consuming a certain medium . Destination from study this is for to find out how the influence of the use of WhatsApp emoji on the satisfaction of Denpasar City teenagers in conveying messages Study this use method study quantitative with type research associative and use theory uses and gratifications . Study this also involving 140 teenagers from Denpasar City aged 18-25 years. Results study this show usage emoticon on application whatsapp have influence positive and significant to satisfaction Denpasar City youth in convey message. When use whatsapp emojis increase so satisfaction Denpasar City youth in convey message also will the more increase.

Abstract

Film is part of mass communication media which is often used as a medium that describes social life in society. Film as a medium, can describe and reflect situations or realities that occur in real life, or other terms are representations, namely the act of presenting or describing something, both events, people, or objects through something other than itself, usually in the form of signs or symbols. One of the films in Indonesia that raises the issue of social conflict such as juvenile promiscuity is Little Mom, the film is in the form of a film series. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory to see how promiscuity is described in this series. The results of this study indicate that this series has the ability to construct reality and describe the reality that occurs in society, in this case, promiscuity in adolescents.

Abstract

This study explains how the relationship between the level of public trust in citizen journalism and the level of news consumption in mainstream media where journalists in mainstream media have professional ethics, namely the journalistic code of ethics. This study uses an explanative quantitative method.The number of samples in this study were 70 respondents. The respondents in this study were the people of Denpasar city with an age range of 18 to 25 years. In proving and analyzing the data, the researcher used a simple linear regression statistical test. The results showed that there was a relationship between the level of trust and the level of news consumption. These results indicate that the relationship between the level of public trust in citizen journalism and the level of news consumption in mainstream media is 34.2%. Abstract

The culture and characteristics of a region or country are forgotten due to the influence of globalization, one of which is in Indonesia. The popularity of a culture is very dependent on how the mass media expose the cultures that are popular in a country. One of the media that is often used to campaign for its culture is through music videos on the YouTube social media platform. Wonderland Indonesia's music video has cultural elements that are components of research and are examined through the signs in the music video which includes audio and visual elements. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using the semiotic theory of Charles Sander Pierce to analyze and interpret the data in the form of signs in the music video. In the research phase, the authors classify and identify each scene in the music video, then interpret it using Charles Sander Pierce's Triangle of Meaning Theory, namely Sign, Object, Interpretant (interpretation) with a focus on icons, indexes, symbols. From the results of this study, it was concluded that Wonderland Indonesia's music video represents the culture of the provinces of Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, Bali, West Java, Central Java, Sumatra, Riau. Wonderland Indonesia's music video tries to invite the audience and the Indonesian people to get to know and appreciate the culture of each region. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of public relations information for film censorship institutions in dealing with conflicts on Instagram against Mortal Kombat films. The Film Censorship Institute is a government agency that has the main task of screening or selecting shows that will be shown on television or on the big screen. The screening is carried out to limit the content contained in the film and classify the film into predetermined criteria. This research uses descriptive qualitative method to analyze the existing problems. Informants in this study were parties from the film censorship agency and also some people who gave negative comments to this institution. The findings show that the handling strategy carried out by LSF goes through four steps starting with understanding the problem that is used as the basis for the actions taken, taking action and communication as a strategy for managing information in dealing with conflict in the Mortal Kombat film on Instagram, and the final step is evaluation. from the previous step and the strategy taken is correct. Meanwhile, regarding the success of this strategy through organizational image management theory, LSF has succeeded in restoring the image of the institution through three stages, namely image formation, image restoration, and image maintenance.Keywords: PR, strategy, conflict

Abstract

The background of the research stems from the widespread use of Apple products, especially by teenagers and the assumption that the quality of Apple products is better than Android, especially for accessing Instagram, so it is believed to increase the personal branding of its users. The theory used in analyzing this research is personal branding theory related to Littlejohn's impression management theory, as well as Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) theory by Tomic, et al. This research uses a qualitative research model by interviewing the tenenagers with an apple addict and observe their Instagram account. The results showed that by using apple product, their personal branding will be upgrade in their relationship, friendship, existence, study and career, entertainment and utility factors. In the process of building personal branding, users showing their Apple products directly and do mirror selfie in order to be recognized by others.

Abstract

The Youtube Narasi Newsroom show entitled ‘Menguak Sisi Lain Mentoring Poligami Berbayar’ had become trending 4 in the trending column of Youtube Indonesia in November 2021. The show is an in-depth coverage of a mentoring practice that is closely related to Polygamy in Indonesia. Narasi as a mass media plays an important role in describing a problem as is done in this show. But the mass media also do framing. Framing is something the mass media do to see content into an impression. This study will see how the framing is carried out by Narasi Newsroom on the show ‘Menguak Sisi Lain Mentoring Poligami Berbayar' on the issue of polygamy. In this analysis, the framing model of Robert N. Entman will be used. The results of this study indicate that the Newsroom Narrative raises a number of facts that tend to be negative from polygamy and the polygamy campaign.

Abstract

Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus pandemic, PR have promoted intensive socialization to provide information between organizations and their communities. The purpose of this study was to determine the PR communication strategy of PT Angkasa Pura I Gusti Ngurah Rai in providing information dissemination to the public about the COVID-19 virus. This study uses an analysis of communication strategies through socialization based on planning, namely socialization carried out on the basis of a sustainable and systematic plan. The results of the study indicate that PR of PT. Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport using various social media platforms to inform, increase knowledge and community activity regarding the prevention of the COVID-19 virus at airports, socialization 'Fly Again', followed the policies issued by the government and evaluations with companies.

Abstract

The use of hashtags on social media was initially used to classify content or conversation topics to make them easier to find. But now, hashtags functioned as a sign-system to respond to a phenomenon or social issue that is currently happening. Tiktok is exploring its popularity as the most popular social media platform for generation Y and Z today. Hashtags on TikTok can be used to voice the latest hot issues and trends. One of them is #welcometoindonesia, which experienced a trend from late June to early July 2021. This study uses the new media theory of Pierre Levy and the critical discourse analysis method of Teun A. Van Dijk. Through the #welcometoindonesia trend, generations Y and Z try to criticize the attitudes and habits of the majority people who dominate in social life. The dynamic conditions of social, cultural and political life can be displayed through a simple lyrics and content packaging.
