Abstract

Lesbians are one of the homosexual phenomena, lesbian are women who have an interest in other women. In Indonesia in 2021, there will be a series that focuses on lesbian cases, namely the cyanide series. This study aims to determine the meaning of teenagers in the lesbian scene contained in the cyanide series (episode 1), this study targets Denpasar teenagers with an age range 18 – 24 years and who have watched the cyanide series. This study uses the receprion theory decoding and encoding from Stuart Hall with the analysis of Stuart Hall’s Reception Analysis. The type of research used is descriptive – qualitative. This study involved six informants. The results of analysis in the study indicate that four people fall into the Dominan Position, and two people fall into the Oppositional Position. Abstract

Product placement is a way to increase promotion of a product by showing the product as if the appearance of that product is a part of story of a film or TV show. Super Cub is one of the anime which putting product placement in their show. The product that being promoted is Honda Super Cub. This research is purposing to know Super Cub audience’s perception of the Honda Super Cub product placement in the Super Cub anime by descriptive quantitative research. The result shows the audiences are getting good perception of the Honda Super Cub product placement. From all four indicators, attention and hope indicators are getting very good perception. Meanwhile interest indicator is getting medium score, and motivation indicator is getting low score.

Abstract

An understanding of gender often creates pros and cons in society, coupled with the existence of stereotypes attached to each gender, makes issues about gender are more interesting to discuss. One of them is a campaign ad released by the Heineken company entitled Cheers To All in 2020 on their YouTube page. The purpose of this research is to explain the Discourse of Countering Gender Stereotypes in Heineken-Cheers To All Advertisements. To achieve this goal, this research uses qualitative methods and constructivism paradigms with semiotic analysis proposed by Roland Barthes by looking at the value of denotation, connotation and myth. As a result of this study, Heineken tries to fight against gender stereotypes that have been attached to food and beverages, especially in beers and cocktails which are depicted through scenes that try to show that Heineken is openly against the existing stereotypes and has been stuck in society.

Abstract

“Adaptasi Kebiasaan Baru (AKB)” or new normal era is a preventive policy released by government in order to save the national economy which is getting weaker due to the pandemic and to save the increasing number of confirmed positive Covid-19 patients. Therefore the government become more vigorous in carrying out health protocols, one of it is through the “Ingat Pesan Ibu: 3M” campaign on television. Through this research, esearcher want to find out the impact of “Ingat Pesan Ibu: 3M” campaign on compliance with the Covid-19 health protocol. This research used a method named qualitative with case study approach. Unit of analysis focused on people. Non-probability sampling technique also used to determine the informants. The results showed the “Ingat Pesan Ibu: 3M” campaign on television had an impact in the form of community compliance in carrying out the 3M movements (wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance).

Abstract

This study discusses the Representation of Nationalism Video Clip "Wonderland Indonesia" by Alffy Rev. In criticizing the Representation of Nationalism in the Video Clip "Wonderland Indonesia". The researcher uses Roland Barthes' Semiotic Analysis method with a post-positivism paradigm approach within the framework of Stuart Hall's Representation theory. The results of this study indicate that in each Shot and the lyrics in the Video Clip, it shows that Nationalism is indicated by (1) Awareness of Cultural Diversity, (2) Commemorating the Service of the Nation's Heroes, and (3) Love for the Motherland. Abstract

Sinetron Ikatan Cinta merupakan salah satu sinetron yang menduduki rating paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan sinetron lainnya. Salah satu pemeran dalam sinetron Ikatan Cinta yang bernama Elsa berperan sebagai pemeran dengan karakter antagonis sehingga mengakibatkan khalayak khususnya penonton sinetron Ikatan Cinta memiliki sikap agresif setelah menonton dan melihat karakter Elsa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak dari terpaan karakter Elsa dalam Sinetron Ikatan Cinta terhadap penonton Perempuan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teori Stimulus Organism Respons Dennis Mcquail. Terpaan diukur melalui beberapa indikator, yaitu durasi, frekuensi dan atensi. Sikap agresivitas diukur melalui beberapa indikator, yaitu kognitif, afektif, behavioral, non verbal, verbal, internal, eksternal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dampak dari adanya terpaan karakter Elsa dalam Sinetron Ikatan Cinta pada sikap agresivitas penonton perempuan. Dengan Nilai R Square sebesar 0,469 menunjukkan bahwa sikap agresivitas penonton perempuan dipengaruhi sebesar 46,9% oleh karakter Elsa dalam Sinetron Ikatan Cinta. Penonton perempuan memiliki sifat agresif setelah melihat karakter Elsa dalam sinetron Ikatan Cinta. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai skor rata-rata tertinggi pada variabel sikap agresivitas. Hal ini cukup mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat sikap agresif pada penonton perempuan setelah melihat karakter Elsa dalam sinetron Ikatan Cinta.

Abstract

Personal branding is an image that is shown to the wider community, in other words, personal branding is a process of forming public perceptions of aspects that are owned by a person. Arief Muhammad as a content creator and entrepreneur uses social media Instagram as a forum to create a personal brand. This study uses 8 (eight) laws of personal branding according to Peter F. Montoya. Arief Muhammad’s personal branding shows him as a creative and dynamic figure, with his creativity Arief does not limit himself and continues to move to develop himself in various aspects. In order to create personal branding with the eight laws according to Peter F. Montoya, as content creator The Law of Specialization, The Law of Personality, The Law of Distinctiveness is the most highlighted concept. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to explain and find out the communication patterns carried out by the Reog Sardulo Mbalelo Bali community in increasing the solidarity of its members. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with purposive sampling informant determination technique. Data obtained from interviews, observations, documentation and literature study. The analytical technique used in this research is qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the Reog Sardulo Mbalelo Bali community used three communication patterns, namely the wheel communication pattern and the Y pattern in formal activities and the star communication pattern in informal activities. Abstract

Pikiran Rakyat Media Network (PRMN) is part of Pikiran-Rakyat.com which was created out of concern over the increasing number of unemployed in Indonesia. Pikiran Rakyat Media Network (PRMN) is here to make a real contribution. PRMN builds a digital media ecosystem that is dedicated to the independence of Indonesian youth, especially in the field of text and video-based content creators. PRMN prepares technology, infrastructure, training, mentoring, to a business plan, to give birth to new entrepreneurs in the field of digital media (Mediapreneur). On August 29, 2021, PRMN came up with the idea that it would start changing the word corrupt in its reporting to thieves, robbers, and looting people’s money. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method that aims to see the reader’s perception of the word corruption carried out by PRMN. The results of this study indicate that the reader’s perception of the word corruptor gets positive results. Abstract

Women in the mass media, basically talk about the women representation in the mass media, the media has always made women as an object. The depiction of women in the mass media is often stereotyped. One of the mass media that still stereotypes women is comics. Women are often portrayed as victims in the comics. There is a korean comics depicting a woman who is different from the general stereotype. In South Korea, comics published online and in print are called Manhwa. The Manhwa called Ebony, features a woman who has an ambitious, confident, courageous and feminist figure who breaks her country's patriarchal system for gender equality. This study aims to clarify how the representations of feminism on Ebony Manhwa in Kakaopage. This research used a descriptive qualitative research method using criticaI discourse anaIysis by Sara Mills. The resuIts of this study showed that there are two types of feminism represented in this Manhwa. There is Iiberal feminism, as shown by the resistance movement to achieve gender equality and women's rights, and post-modern feminism, as shown by women who are intellectual, strong, confident, brave and woman support woman.
