Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to analyze the impact of the revitalization of Simpang Limun Market on traders' income from an Islamic economic perspective. Market revitalization is an effort to improve the quality of infrastructure and governance of traditional markets to make them more competitive and efficient. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where data is obtained through interviews with traders and analysis of related documents. The research results show that market revitalization has had various impacts on traders. Some merchants experienced an increase in income, especially those who were able to utilize digital technology in marketing, while others experienced a decrease in income due to changes in location and increased competition, both in the market and with online merchants. From an Islamic economic perspective, market revitalization should fulfill the principles of justice (Al-'Adl), desire (Al-Mashlahah), honesty and transparency (Ash-Shidq Al-Amanah), as well as striving for freedom (Hurriyyah Tijariyyah). However, in practice, the distribution of revitalization benefits has not been evenly distributed, so some traders have difficulty adapting to the new system. Keywords: Market Revitalization, Income, Local Economic Growth

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of consumptive behavior and Islamic financial literacy on the interest in using fintech P2P lending among students of the Faculty of Islamic  Economics and Business (FEBI) at UINSU. This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative method. The population consists of active FEBI UINSU students from the 2021 cohort, with a sample of 100 respondents selected using puprosive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with partial (t) tests and simultaneous (F) tests. The results indicate hat consumptive behavior has a positive and significant effect on the interest in using fintech P2P lending. Islamic financial literacy also has a positive and significant effect on this interest. Simultaneously, both independet variables significantly influence students interest in using conventional fintech. This phenomenon shows that although students have a good understanding of Islamic financial principles, factors such as accessibility, service speed, limited availability of Islamic fintech, and consumptive behavior still lead them to use conventional fintch. Keywords: Consumptive Behavior, Islamic Financial Literacy, Interest, Fintech P2P Lending

Abstract

The sharp decline in the volume and value of marine fisheries production at the Belawan Ocean Fishing Port (PPS) over the past three years indicates a structural crisis that requires values-based solutions. This study aims to formulate a strategy for developing the marine fisheries industry through a maqasid al-syariah approach as the foundation for equitable and sustainable economic development. The method used is a qualitative descriptive technique with semi-structured interviews with fisheries business actors, followed by a SWOT analysis to identify internal and external factors in the industry. The results indicate weak business capacity due to limited fishing gear, access to capital, and digital literacy, despite the potential for significant resources and government support. The development strategy formulated includes strengthening sharia institutions, technological modernization, Islamic value-based training, and marine environmental preservation, which are aligned with the six dimensions of maqasid al-syariah: protection of religion, life, mind, descendants, property, and the environment. This approach is considered capable of providing a strategy that is not only economically viable, but also ethical, inclusive, and sustainable..Keywords: Belawan Islamic Economym, Fishing Industry, Maqasid al-Shariah

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a development plan for sharia-based MSMEs in Tebing Tinggi City to encourage more equitable and inclusive regional economic development. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Five MSMEs that have implemented sharia principles in their operations were observed and interviewed to collect data. The collected data were then analyzed thematically to identify trends, obstacles, and development tactics. The study findings demonstrate that sharia-based MSMEs in Tebing Tinggi City have adopted Islamic values such as being free from usury, using halal materials, and contributing to social welfare. However, they still face significant challenges such as limited access to sharia financing, a lack of Islamic economic literacy, and suboptimal utilization of digitalization. Recommended development strategies include improving sharia literacy, partnerships with Islamic financial institutions, training in digitalization and halal marketing, and facilitating halal certification. An integrative approach based on spiritual values, technology, and institutionalization is needed to strengthen the competitiveness of sharia-based MSMEs sustainably. This study contributes to the strategic framework for sharia-based MSME development at the regional level, integrated with Islamic economic principles and local challenges. The uniqueness of this study lies in the focus on the local context of Tebing Tinggi City and the direct interview approach to formulate sustainable strategies. Keywords: Sharia-compliant MSMEs, development strategy, finance, local economy, Tebing Tinggi City

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a development strategy for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on the Pentahelix approach to reduce unemployment in Tebing Tinggi City. The Pentahelix approach involves five main elements: academics, businesses, communities, government, and mentors, who collaborate in the local economic development process. The methodology is a qualitative one, including statistical data, questionnaires, in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observation as data collecting methods. The strategy is analyzed using the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) framework and the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) principle, which includes social (people), environmental (planet), and economic (profit) aspects. The analysis results show that the combination strategy of Opportunities + Aspirations (OA) is the most optimal approach, with the highest score in the IFAS and EFAS analyses. The OA strategy is considered capable of utilizing external opportunities such as technological innovation, strategic partnerships, community collaboration, and policy support, to realize the aspirations of sustainable community economic empowerment. These findings demonstrate the importance of cross-sector collaboration in encouraging MSME growth as a strategic solution to reduce unemployment in the region. Keywords: MSMEs, Pentahelix, Unemployment, SOAR

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, lifestyle, price, and fashion trends on Muslim fashion purchasing decisions by Generation Z in Medan City. The method used is a quantitative approach with SEM-PLS analysis techniques through SmartPLS 4 software and involving 100 respondents. The results show that religiosity, lifestyle, and fashion trends have a significant influence on purchasing decisions, while price does not show a significant influence. The R² value of 57.3% indicates that the model can explain more than half of the variation in purchasing decisions. This finding reflects that Gen Z prioritizes religious aspects and lifestyle over price considerations, which is in line with the principles of consumption in Islamic economics namely, orientation towards needs, ethical values, and compliance with sharia. Keywords: Muslim fashion, religiosity, lifestyle, price, fashion trends, purchasing decisions

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of organizational justice and organizational culture on the psychological contract, with work-life balance as a mediating variable among employees of CV Media Gravika Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative method with a survey approach, the research involved 45 permanent employees selected through a census technique. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results show that organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on the psychological contract, indicating that a supportive and value-driven work environment strengthens employees' perceptions of mutual obligations with the organization. Organizational justice is also found to significantly influence work-life balance, suggesting that fair treatment and transparent policies contribute to employees' ability to manage work and personal life demands. However, work-life balance does not mediate the relationship between either organizational justice or organizational culture and the psychological contract, indicating that the psychological contract is shaped more strongly by direct organizational practices than by employees' perceptions of work-life harmony. These findings highlight the importance of fostering fairness and cultivating a constructive organizational culture to enhance employee commitment, trust, and psychological attachment, ultimately supporting a more harmonious, motivated, and productive organizational climate.
