Abstract

The existence of MSMEs plays a crucial role as the core of the economic growth in developing countries like Indonesia. They require ease of access to additional capital to expand their businesses. BMT Al-Hikmah Semesta Jawa Timur is one of the Islamic microfinance institutions (LKMS) that provides access to capital for micro-business operators through the flexibility of collateral in their financing products. That case is an intriguing phenomenon worth studying. The research includes examination of the forms of collateral flexibility, the risks associated with implementing this flexibility, and the goals behind its application. This study employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research findings, there are various forms of collateral flexibility, including unsecured financing, the use of non-personal collateral, flexible collateral constraints, and a quick collateral release period. However, these flexible collateral arrangements carry the risk of financing repayment failure or default. Service excellence is the ultimate objective of implementing collateral flexibility for members. This research is valuable for those who wish to delve into collateral flexibility in financing.

Abstract

In Islamic banks, one of the indicators commonly used to assess the bank's health is its own financial report. Information obtained from financial reports can be used to calculate various financial ratios, often serving as the basis for evaluating a bank's health. Several factors affect profitability in Islamic banks, sourced from the different profitability indicators generated by various performance metrics. This is because third-party funds (DPK) and Mudharabah financing, when increasing, contribute to the increase in the Return on Assets (ROA). This is due to the fact that an increase in customer deposits gathered by Islamic banks will enhance the efforts of the Islamic bank in generating profitability. On the other hand, if non-performing financing (NPF) increases, the ROA will decrease. This is because the non-acceptance of disbursed funds contributes to the decline in ROA. The research aims to investigate the partial and simultaneous effects of DPK, Mudharabah financing, and NPF on ROA. The research methodology employed is quantitative with a causal approach. Using purposive sampling technique, five Islamic commercial banks were selected as the research sample for the period 2017 to 2022. The analysis utilized panel data regression analysis through Eviews12. The results indicate that DPK and Mudharabah financing, individually, do not have a significant partial impact on the ROA of Islamic commercial banks. However, NPF has a significant partial effect on the ROA of Islamic commercial banks. Furthermore, when considered collectively, DPK, Mudharabah financing, and NPF have a significant simultaneous impact on the ROA of Islamic commercial banks.

Abstract

Professional management of Zakat funds can be one way to eradicate poverty in society. One of the efforts made by the National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS) of Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province in managing zakat funds is to distribute aid to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through a productive zakat program. MSMEs have an important role in supporting the economy in Indonesia. Apart from that, MSMEs are also considered as a people's economic activity that is in accordance with the values of Pancasila as the nation's ideology. The aim of this research is to analyze and identify the management of BAZNAS Bangka Regency in managing the people's zakat funds through MSME activities. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with primary data in the form of interviews and field observations and supported by secondary data in the form of literature relevant to the research topic. As a result, in carrying out the program BAZNAS Bangka Regency has three stages, namely open submission, field verification and evaluation monitoring. Recipients of MSME business funding assistance have the opportunity to receive it again the following year so that they can raise their social status from zakat recipients (Mustahik) to zakat payers (Muzakki). So the management of BAZNAS MSMEs is a form of mutual cooperation to realize community welfare as a reflection of the Pancasila economy

Management of regional budget and expenditure of Kulon Progo is the authority of regional governments and must be adapted to the conditions of regional communities. Financial management of a region has been taught in Islamic law since the time of the Prophet. The concept of regional financial management based on Islamic law must apply the principles of justice. The process of tax revenue and regional expenditure determination in Kulon Progo has implemented Islamic public finance principles presented by Umar Chapra.

Abstract

In the past half-decade, Indonesia encountered its highest budget deficit in 2022, amounting to IDR 464.3 trillion or 2.38% of the nation's GDP, as reported by the Ministry of Finance. To counteract this, the government formulates the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) annually, serving as a pivotal tool for national welfare and economic governance. Governed by fiscal policy, APBN orchestrates government revenue and spending to propel economic enhancement. This paper scrutinizes the efficacy of sukuk as a deficit financing alternative, considering policies, implementation strategies, targeting precision, and procedural efficiency. The study, covering the period from 2018 to 2023, accentuates sukuk's resilience amidst economic uncertainties. Key determinants of sukuk effectiveness include well-aligned policies with national objectives, collaborative execution involving diverse stakeholders, congruence with targeted goals, and streamlined processes adhering to legislative frameworks. The research further delves into the varied spectrum of sukuk instruments traded in the market, distinguishing between tradable and non-tradeable categories. Tradable sukuk exhibit liquidity advantages, while non-tradable sukuk offer price stability. Indonesia's substantial growth in sukuk from 2020 to January 2023 underscores its potential in a predominantly Muslim-populated country. This research method is qualitative with a literature study approach obtained from secondary data. The results of this research are that sukuk is very effective as an alternative financing method. This is proven by an increase in total assets in 2022 amounting to IDR 131.46 trillion from 68 issuers and there were 512 recorded emissions using a circulating nominal value of IDR 459.15 trillion and US$ 47.5 million
