Abstract

This study aims to determine the citation analysis of scientific papers of undergraduate theses of students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, University of Padjadjaran during the Even Semester of the Academic Year 2011. This study aims to determine the characteristics (shape, author / sources, language) which are frequently cited in scientific papers, publications of source of information, the frequency of citations of scientific papers and the development of Communication Information Science and Library Studies based on distribution subject of the cited references. The population studied is 227 titles of undergraduate theses from 4 departments (Journalism, Public Relations, Management Communication Library and Information Science). The population consists of 7089 citations. The results showed that the students appear to scientific papers from the Faculty of Communication’s lecturers. Especially those published in book form. The scientific papers of the Faculty of Communication’s lecturers are not yet cited in proper proportion. Besides that, there are students who still cite from private blogs. In general, student’s skill to cite is still below standard. The study recommended the socialization of scientific products of Faculty of Communication’s lecturers. A guide to standardization of bibliography writing is highly recommended.

Abstract

Abstract.This research was conducted to address the diverse array of types of services provided byPadjadjaran University Library for its users. The main problem of this research is users'satisfaction on reference services of Centre of Information Scientific Resources and Library(CISRAL) of Unpad. The study focused on one of the factors that connect users' satisfaction onCISRAL reference services in reference services department. Therefore, this research aimed to findout the relationship between library users' perception on reference services and library users'satisfaction on Reference Services of CISRAL Unpad. This research consisted of two variables:users' perception towards reference services (X variable) and users' satisfaction on referenceservices department (Y variable). Both users' perception and satisfaction were measured using fourindicators: collection availability, the competencies of service librarians, the facilities of referenceservice, and the room layout of the reference service room. The population was visitors of referenceservice of CISRAL Unpad and the sample as 135 respondents which was taken as total sampling.This research used descriptive correlational method. The data was collected using closedquestionnaire that used five point Likert Scale with correlation analysis. The data analysis showedthat there was a moderate correlation between users' perception towards reference services and users' satisfaction with reference service of CISRAL Unpad. The results of hypothesis testing suggested that there was a strong relationship between users' perception towards collection availability and the competencies of service librarians and users' satisfaction with reference service of CISRAl Unpad. Also, there was a very strong relationship between users' perception towards the facilities and room layout of the reference service and users' satisfaction with the reference service department of CISRAL Unpad.Keywords: library users' perception, library users' satisfaction, library services. Abstrak. Hubungan antara Persepsi Pemustaka tentang Layanan Sirkulasi Mandiri dan Tingkat Penelitian ini dilatarbelkangi oleh beraneka ragamnya jenis pelayanan yang diberikan oleh perpustakaan untuk para pemustaka di Perpustakaan Universitas Padjadjaran. Pokok permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah kepuasan pemustaka pada bagian layanan referensi Centre Of Information Scientific Resources And Library (CISRAL) Unpad. Inti kajiannya difokuskan pada salah satu faktor yang menghubungkan kepuasan pemustaka layanan referensi CISRAL Unpadpada bagian layanan referensi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pokok masalah yang  diungkapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah Bagaimana Hubungan Persepsi Pemustaka Tentang Layanan Referensi dengan Kepuasan Pemustaka pada bagian Layanan Referensi di CISRAL Unpad. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua variabel yaitu: variabel (X) persepsi pemustaka tentang layanan referensi dan variabel (Y) kepuasan pemustaka pada bagian layanan referensi. Persepsi pemustaka dan kepuasanpemustaka diukur melalui empat indikator, yaitu: ketersediaan koleksi, kompetensi pustakawan layanan, fasilitas layanan referensi, dan tata ruang layanan referensi perpustakaan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pengunjung layanan referensi CISRAL Unpad dengan sampel 135 responden yang dihitung berdasarkan total sampling. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskripitif korelasional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket tertutup dengan skala lima kategorilikert dengan analisis korelasi. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat diketahui persepsi  pemustaka tentang layanan referensi berhubungan sedang dengan kepuasan pemustaka pada bagian layanan referensi di CISRAL Unpad. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan persepsi pemustaka tentang ketersediaan koleksi dan kompetensi pustakawan layanan dengan kepuasan pemustaka pada bagian layanan referensi di CISRAL Unpad berhubungan kuat, sementara persepsi pemustakatentang fasilitas dan tata ruang layanan referensi dengan kepuasan pemustaka pada bagian layanan referensi di CISRAL Unpad berhubungan sangat kuat.Kata Kunci: persepsi pemustaka, kepuasan pemustaka, layanan perpustakaan.

Abstract

Abstract. Records the history and culture of a region in the past stored in various forms of printed and recorded, partly managed by the library; some are still stored in various places, including West Java in the form of historical sites and culture. Form of work in question can bebooks, magazines, newspapers, maps, brochures, and the like, both in print and digital format. These works contain a benefit for knowledge and education. Meanwhile, the library as an institution in charge of managing printed and recorded works, including ancient works, continues to contribute in this work with storage for wider dissemination. This study examines the existence of public libraries and village libraries in West Java related to its role as referred to above. The method used is direct observation to the field. The result illustrates that public libraries and village libraries already participate to provide this type of collection for the benefit of the public on the current generation and the future.Keywords: Printed Materials, Paper records, Ancient manuscripts,Cultural Values, Public Library.

Abstract

Abstract. Activities cite literature is an integral part of the activities of writing scientific papers. In the writing of a work in scientific journals either in the form of research results or other study results quoting the opinions of other authors contained in the same journal or different journals but still in a clump of the same science often coloring a writing. In citation analysis activities a scientific journal is known to exist several terms such as a speed index that is a measure to find out how quickly a group of documents or articles from a journal is cited in the same year and an impact factor that is a measure for the influence of an article in a journal in a given period. This study aims to examine the index of velocity and impact factors of articles published in the electronic journals (OJS) socio-humanities of Padjadjaran University. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method with research type of citation analysis. The period of the journal published human socio-humanities are jurnal period published 2012-2015 with the number of articles published 128 as many scientific articles. Based on the results of this study note that the index of the density and impact factors of the human socio journal of Universitas Padjadjaran is still low. This is apparent with the lack of articles published in the humanitarian socio journal of Padjadjaran University cited or dikutif by other authors in other imitation journals as well as scientific journals of the socio-humanities of UNPAD itself.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memaparkan hubungan antara pemanfaatan bahan pustaka perpustakaan sekolah dengan minat belajar siswa SMAN 1 Bandung yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasional. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa angket. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling dengan sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 92 orang. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan langkah : 1) mendeskripsikan hasil temuan, 2) uji validitas dan reliabilitas, 3) pengujian normalitas data, 4) pengujian hipotesis, 5) penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di lapangan diperoleh bahwa pemanfaatan bahan pustaka perpustakaan SMAN 1 Bandung secara umum berada pada kategori cukup baik dan minat belajar siswa SMAN 1 Bandung berada pada kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara pemanfaatan bahan pustaka perpustakaan sekolah dengan minat belajar siswa di SMAN 1 Bandung. Rekomendasi pada penelitian ini adalah untuk memberi keberagaman mengenai variabel terikat karena pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah tidak hanya memiliki dampak bagi aspek minat belajarnya saja tetapi juga memiliki dampak pada aspek lainnya.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan pemustaka akan informasi. Permasalahan umum yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana implementasi program edu-tourism di perpustakaan Museum konperensi Asia Afrika. Edu-tourism merupakan program yang di terapkan di perpustakaan Museum Konperensi Asia Afrika (MKAA) sebagai salah satu upaya perpustakaan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi pemustaka. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pemustaka yang berkunjung di perpustakaan Museum Konferensi Asia Afrika yang berjumlah 815 orang pada tahun 2015 dengan jumlah sampel 73 pemustaka yang mengunjungi Perpustakaan Museum Konperensi Asia Afrika. Hasil penelitian menunjukan program edu-tourism mampu memberikan kontribusi yang positif dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi pemustaka.Kata Kunci : Edu-tourism, Kebutuhan informasi, implementasi Abstract. This research was based on the information needs of the library users. Issues being the topic of discussion is how implementation of edu-tourism programs in museum of the Asian African Conference library. Edu-tourism is a program implemented in museum library Asia African Conference as part of efforts to meet te information needs of the users library. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach. The results of the study show that edu-tourism program is able to provide a positive contribution in meeting the information needs users. Abstract

Planning of Teaching Library (TLib.) as an entity involves steps of examining environments, conducting needs assessments, and evaluating available resources. In its implementation, TLib. affirms librarian to holds a position as more than just a supporting element for academic programs and research. The role librarian plays as a major organizer of intellectual asset brings with it some responsibility of teaching users to get well informed and benefit sources of information available and at the same time encouraging the opportunity of lifelong learning through continuous teaching-learning process. To librarian, teaching proves to be a supporting activity towards credits to enhance his career as professional. In regards with the concept of TLib. teaching is geared towards illuminating efficient techniques to evaluate and provide information for various kinds of users in the society. Giving new students especially, bibliographic instructions of how to benefit from the collections the best way through User Education effectively. Delivering materials of librarianship to information communities from both outside and inside the campus: in-house training, practices for vocational school students majoring in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), comparative study, and benchmarking. As information specialist and subject librarian as well, this professional guides a new paradigm with vision and mission basically doing some strengthening on the motto the university has, namely “A leading and outstanding university”. Standards serving as an objective tool are applied based on performance measurements and referred to the correlation between information resources served and the achievement of the Civitas Academica (CA) of the university in a more intense way. The TLib.’s goals as the implementation of standards are focused on users as stakeholders and range from the empowerment to the preservation of knowledge and culture.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is motivated by the emergence of the information technology era in which library turns as the place for acquiring information, notably in school. Based on that background, this research is focused on the student's attitude and behavior, and student's learning interest towards school library utilization as a learning resource. The student's behavior was observed across the x-axis and the utilization of library as a learning resource in y-axis. Student's attitude was measured by means of attitude sub-variable which consists of three indicators: cognitive, affective, and conative. Student's behavior was measured by two indicators, namely learning behavior and reading behavior. Furthermore, student's learning interest consists of behave, attention and feeling. This research employs a descriptive design with some quantification to enhance the analysis. Furthermore, the data are collected by using closed questionnaire and Likert Scale. Then the data are analyzed by using correlation analysis and simple linear regression. The results revealed that student's learning behavior has a significant connection and influence (0.841) towards the utilization of school library as a learning resource. Based on this result, it can be recommended that school libraries are expected to develop its materials to increase the level of student's attitude, behavior and interest regarding to utilize library as a learning resource.Keywords: learning attitude, library materials utilization, learning resources, students.Abstrak. Masalah yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini difokuskan pada sikap, kebiasaan, dan minat belajar peserta didik terhadap pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar. Penelitian ini terdiri dari perilaku belajar peserta didik (X) dan pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar (Y). Perilaku belajar peserta didik diukur melalui sub variabel sikap yang terdiri dari tiga indikator yaitu kognitif, afektif, dan konatif, dan kebiasaan terdiri dari dua indikator yaitu kebiasaan belajar dan kebiasaan membaca, sedangkan minat belajar terdiri dari perbuatan, perhatian, dan perasaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data  menggunakan kuesioner tertutup dengan menggunakan Skala Likert dan menggunakan analisis data korelasi, serta untuk melihat besar pengaruhnya menggunakan koefisien determinasi dan regresi linier sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diketahui bahwa perilaku belajar peserta didik mempunyai tingkat hubungan dan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemanfaatan perpustakaansekolah sebagai sumber belajar, dengan signifikansi pengaruh sebesar 0,841. Rekomendasi pada penelitian ini perpustakaan sekolah diharapkan dapat mengembangkan bahan perpustakaan sehingga meningkatkan keberagaman sikap, kebiasaan, dan minat belajar peserta didik untuk memanfaatkan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar.Kata kunci : Perilaku belajar, Pemanfatan bahan perpustakaan, Sumber belajardan Peserta didik

Abstract

Electronic journals have easy advantages in terms of access, compared withprinted journals and other electronic books. An electronic journal appears first compared to a printed journal. Based on data in 2015 access to electronic journals is higher compared to printed journals and access to electronic books has increased from before. The purpose of this study to determine the paradigm, functionality and reasons students use electronic journalsand electronic books. The approach used is qualitative with case study method expalanatoris. The findings obtained that there is a paradigm shift from manual to electronic. Students are more comfortable using electronic journals and electronic books. This implies the condition of UPT Unpad library that experienced a decrease in student visits.

Abstract

Abstrak. Masalah yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah brand judgement pemustaka di Bapusipda Provinsi Jawa Barat. Inti kajiannya difokuskan pada salah satu faktor yang memiliki hubungan dengan brand judgement pemustaka yaitu kepemimpinan Kepala Bapusipda. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pokok masalah diungkap dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana hubungan kepemimpinan Kepala Bapusipda dengan brand judgement pemustaka. Teknik sampling pada penelitian ini menggunakan disproportionate stratified random sampling. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif korelational dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui kepemimpinan Kepala Bapusipda memiliki hubungan kuat dengan brand judgement pemustaka dengan korelasi. Hasil pengujian hubungan kepemimpinan Kepala Bapusipda dengan brand judgement pemustaka menunjukkan indikator kebijakan/keputusan memiliki korelasi dengan derajat hubungan pada kategori sedang, indikator komunikasi memiliki korelasi dengan derajat hubungan pada kategori sedang, indikator motivasi memiliki korelasi dengan derajat hubungan pada kategori kuat, dan penyeleksian sumber daya manusia oleh Kepala Bapusipda memiliki korelasi dengan derajat hubungan pada kategori kuat.
