Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kualitas layanan terhadap kepuasan pengguna di Perpustakaan Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran. Kualitas layanan ditinjau dari tiga dimensi kualitas layanan menurut Model LibQual+TM yakni Information Control, Affect of Services dan Library as Place. Kepuasan pengguna ditentukan berdasarkan analisa gap antara persepsi dan harapan pengguna. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah pengguna perpustakaan Fikom Unpad. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas layanan perpustakaan secara umum belum dapat memberikan kepuasan bagi penggunanya. Nilai Adequacy Gap secara umum yakni masih dibawah nilai rata-rata harapan minimum yakni -0,19. Dimensi yang paling berkontribusi mempengaruhi ketidakpuasan pengguna yakni dimensi Library as Place dengan nilai Adequacy Gap -0,40, dimensi Information Control dengan nilai Adequacy Gap -0,14, kemudian dimensi Affect of Service yang nilai Adequacy Gap negative-nya paling kecil yakni -0,02. Pernyataan yang dinilai memberikan kepuasan bagi pengguna yakni pernyataan tentang aspek pencahayaan didalam ruangan perpustakaan dengan nilai Adequacy Gap positif sebesar 1,69. Sedangkan pernyataan yang paling tidak memuaskan bagi pengguna yakni pada aspek ruangan yang dinilai terlalu sempit bagi ruang gerak pengguna selama didalam perpustakaan dengan nilai Adequacy Gap-nya yakni sebesar -3,29. Perpustakaan Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi diharapkan berupaya lebih baik untuk dapat meraih kepuasan pengguna dengan cara meningkatkan kualitas layanannya. Kata Kunci :  Kualitas Layanan Perpustakaan, Kepuasan Pengguna, Model LibQual+TM, Affect of Services, Information Control, Library as Place. Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of service quality on user satisfaction in the Library Faculty of Communication Padjadjaran University. The quality of service in terms of service quality according to the three-dimensional model of the LibQual+ TM that is Information Control, Affect of Services and Library as Place. User satisfaction is determined by analysis of the gap between perception and expectations of users. The approach used in this research is quantitative descriptive with survey method. Population and sample in this research is the library user of Faculty Communication. The results showed that the quality of library services in general have not been able to give satisfaction to the users. Value Adequacy Gap in general that is still below the average value of the minimum expectations is  -0,19. Dimensions that contribute most affect the user dissatisfaction that is dimension of the Library as Place with a value Adequacy Gap is -0,40, dimensions Information Control with a value of Adequacy Gap is  -0,14, then the dimensions Affect of Service with a value of Adequacy Gap negative is  -0,02. The statement is considered to provide satisfaction for users thai is about aspects of lighting in the room with a value of Adequacy Gap positive is 1,69. While the statement is most unsatisfactory for the user that is the aspect of the room which was considered too small for the space for the user during in the library with its value of Adequacy Gap is equal to -3.29. Library of the Faculty of Communication is expected to do a better programme in order to achieve user satisfaction by improving the quality of its services. Keywords: Quality of Service Libraries, User Experience,  LibQual + TM Model, Affect of Services,  Information Control, Library as Place.

Abstract

Libraries have never escaped from the service provider or business that is often called a librarian or library administrator. For schools, the librarian must be skilled and dedicated in searching, organizing and interpreting information needed by teachers and students. Without a competent librarian, the library can not be operated properly and effectively.Development of information and communication technologies are also pushing the world into a library for technological literacy activities. One school librarian competency standard is competence in using ICT in the library and information science.Competence is defined as a measure to determine the level of librarians in using the knowledge and skills. Competency requirements are constantly changing, so librarians should keep them updated.This study is a preliminary study conducted to determine the training needs of librarians in secondary education. In general, the problems posed in this study is how the competence of the teacher librarian or school library staff? The research question is described as follows: whether the competence of the librarians have been in accordance with government regulations No. 25 of 2008? Furthermore, this study also identify particular type of training that can enhance information literacy competency?The method in this study is survey research methods. A survey research is an approach that is generally used for extensive data collection and more. Through this method are expected to answer the problem by describing the actual number of teachers and librarians that describes the instrumentation to analyze the information literacy competencies already held by the teacher librarians in managing the school library.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a descriptive study that aims to describe the relationship promotion of library services in improving student visits. Promotion of library services is one of the programs of work done by librarians in attracting the visitors to come to the library. This research was conducted at the National High School Library 6 Bandung, which is located at Pasirkaliki Street No. 51 Bandung. This study used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Sample study amounted to 87 people who were determined by the formula Yamane and sampling technique used is simple random sampling. In general, the results showed that the relationship promotion of services in a very significant increase student visits. Meanwhile, in particular, the results showed that (1) Performance in promoting library librarians are very influential in improving student visits to the library. (2) Means promotion effect in improving students' visits to the library. It can be concluded that the promotion of library services can increase student visits to the library. Key word : Promotion of Library Services, School Library, Student Visits. Abstrak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan hubungan promosi layanan perpustakaan dalam meningkatkan kunjungan siswa. Promosi layanan perpustakaan merupakan salah satu program kerja yang dilakukan oleh pustakawan dalam memikat pemustaka untuk datang ke perpustakaan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Perpustakaan Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 6 Bandung, yang berlokasi di Jalan Pasirkaliki No. 51 Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sample penelitian berjumlah 87 orang yang ditentukan dengan rumus yamane dan teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Secara umum, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan promosi layanan dalam meningkatkan kunjungan siswa sangat signifikan. Sedangkan secara khusus, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Kinerja pustakawan dalam mempromosikan perpustakaan meningkatkan kunjungan siswa ke perpustakaan. (2) Sarana promosi meningkatkan kunjungan siswa ke perpustakaan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa promosi layanan perpustakaan dapat meningkatkan kunjungan siswa ke perpustakaan. Kata Kunci:  Promosi Layanan Perpustakaan, Perpustakaan Sekolah, Kunjungan Siswa.

Abstract

This research was based on the fact that the frequency of library visitation was still qualified as low due to the weary feeling of the staff to come to library during the break time. The general issue being examined in this study was whether or not the special library has fulfilled the recreationalfunction according to the user's need of information, along with the specific issues which covered the followings: 1) has the library of PT. Trisula Textile Industries implemented the recreationa function of the library?; 2) has the library of PT. Trisula Textile Industries fulfilled the information need of the PT Trisula Textile Industries' staff?. This research describes whether the library of PT. Trisula Textile Industries can be considered as fulfilling the recreational function of the library according to the user's need of information The population of this research was the staff of PT. Trisula Textile Industries, with the total of samples were 88 people which counted based on the Slovin formula. The sampling technique used was random sampling. The data collection was carried out by using the questionnaire which was based on Likert scale to gain certain answers. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The result of this study indicates that the library of PT Trisula Textile Industries has implemented the recreation function of the library in fulfilling the user's need of information.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemajuan teknologi internet yang telah merambah ke segala segi kehidupan dari bidang ekonomi, bisnis, hiburan, budaya dan pendidikan, sampai dengan layanan perpustakaan. Khusus pemanfaatan internet di Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Karawang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pemustaka yang menggunakan media internet pada Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Karawang yang berjumlah 40 orang. Teknik sampling digunakan untuk menjaring data dari responden. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara langsung dimana peneliti melakukan pengamatan secara langsung ke lokasi yang menjadi situs penelitian. Teknik langsung ini didukung oleh penyebaran angket kepada sejumlah responden penelitian yang juga menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Dalam menganalisis data digunakan tabel untuk mencari nilai rerata dari mean untuk setiap jenis data tersebut untuk memperoleh simpulan. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa: pertama, pemustaka yang memanfaatkan internet pada Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Karawang sering menggunakan cara searching dalam mencari informasi yang dibutuhkan. kedua, pemustaka yang memanfaatkan internet pada Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Karawang dominan memanfaatkan fasilitas web. ketiga, pemustaka yang memanfaatkan internet jarang melakukan download informasi yang berada di internet pada Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Karawang. Hasil penelitian menujukkan perlunya upaya berkelanjutan dari Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Karawang untuk memperbaiki tingkat kekerapan kunjungan dan pemanfaatan internet secara maksimal.

Abstract

Library of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) has a quality policy commitment to continuous improvement in every area and process. It can be achieved by continuously optimizing organizational learning. Web 2.0 is a media application that can help the organizational learning process because it has the characteristics of read and write, as well as having the flexibility of time use, but the application must be in accordance with the culture and character of the organization. Therefore, this study aimed to find out the Web 2.0 application that can be applied to the organizational learning in the Library of UPI. The method used is a mixed method qualitative and quantitative approach. Research stage refers to the stage of planning and support phases of Web 2.0 Tools Implementation Model. The results showed that the application of Web 2.0 can be applied to the organizational learning in the Library UPI. It refers to the tendency of organizational culture Library of UPI that is good and tendency of HR Library UPI attitude against the use of the Internet and computers are very good. Web 2.0 applications that can be used by UPI library are blogs, online forums, and wiki as a primary tools. Facebook, Youtube, chat application, twitter and Instagram as a supporting tools.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian berjudul Hubungan antara Informasi dalam Akun Instagram dengan Sikap Followers terhadap Mall FX Sudirman ini merupakan penelitian yang berawal dari aktivitas penyebaran informasi yang dilakukan oleh Mall FX Sudirman melalui media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji teori Integrasi Informasi dengan mencoba mengetahui sejauh mana hubungan antara valensi informasi dalam akun instagram @fxsudirman dengan sikap follower dan sejauhmana bobot informasi dalam akun instagram @fxsudirman dengan sikap follower. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode korelasional, melalui uji hipotesis Rank Spearman  dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Responden penelitian ini sebanyak 91 orang yang terpilih berdasarkan teknik sampling sistematik. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner, observasi,dan  wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa informasi dalam akun instagram @fxsudirman memiliki hubungan yang cukup berarti dengan sikap followers-nya. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh aspek valensi informasi yang positif dan bobot informasi yang tinggi berkorelasi positif terhadap sikap followers. Kesimpulan yang didapat bahwa informasi dalam @fxsudirman dapat membentuk sikap followers akun instagram mall FX Sudirman. Saran yang diberikan secara praktis agar @fxsudirman menambah jumlah posting-an gambar atau foto yang disertai caption dengan penjelasan yang detail juga membalas atau menjawab setiap pertanyaan atau komentar dari follower-nya untuk lebih membentuk sikap followers terhadap @fxsudirman.Kata Kunci : hubungan, Informasi, Sikap Abstract. The study entitled the relationship between information in Instagram account with Attitude Followers of the Mall FX Sudirman This is a research that started from the information activities undertaken by the Mall FX Sudirman through social media Instagram. This study was conducted to test the theory, Information Integration by trying to determine the extent of the relationship between the valence @fxsudirman instagram account information in the manner and extent of weight follower account information with an attitude @fxsudirman instagram followers. The method used in this study is correlational method, through hypothesis test Rank Spearman (rs) with descriptive and inferential analysis techniques. Respondents of this study as many as 91 people were selected by systematic sampling technique. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the information in @fxsudirman instagram account has a significant relationship with the attitude of his followers. This is due to the positive aspects of the information valence and high weights were positively correlated information on the attitudes of followers. It was concluded that the information in @fxsudirman can shape the attitudes followers instagram account Sudirman FX mall. The advice given is practical in order to increase the number of post-@fxsudirman an image or photo caption accompanied with detailed explanations also reply to or menjaawab any question or comments from his followers to further shape attitudes towards @ FX Sudirman followers.Keywords: Relations,  Information, Attitude

Abstract

Conducting library learning activities in the classroom is one of the tasks and receivables in the Field Experience Practice (PPL) activities for all students of the Library of Education and Information Sciences University of Indonesia. Good practice research methodology is one of the alternative choices in estimating the steps that can be taken in the Field Experience Practice (PPL) program of students of the Library of Education and Information Sciences University of Indonesia, which will later become a product of collaboration between the school librarians and teachers at school, and can also present a school product design school learning product. Collaborating in the School Literacy Movement (GLS) activities is one of the bills that must be present in the program, wherein every student of the Library and Information Sciences University of Education program students is required to: 1) Be able to prepare the classroom learning collaboration design with coaching teachers, 2) Able to implement library learning practices, and 3) Able to describe Practical Review Results. Through the field experience (PPL) practice, the students of the Library of Education and Information Sciences University of Indonesias Education program are able to obtain competencies relevant to their field in an optimal way to work in the workplace, especially in the field of school libraries.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh beragamnya pemanfaatan bahan pustaka oleh siswa di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung. Pokok masalah yang diungkap dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana hubungan persepsi siswa tentang perpustakaan dengan pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui (1) gambaran mengenai persepsi siswa tentang perpustakaan di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung; (2) gambaran pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung; dan (3) keterkaitan antara persepsi siswa tentang perpustakaan dengan pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah SMA Negeri 3 Bandung, dengan sampel sebesar 90 orang yang ditentukan rumus Yamane dan menggunakan metode stratified random. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket tertutup dengan skala Likert, pengolahan data menggunakan korelasi dari Pearson’s Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) persepsi siswa tentang perpustakaan di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung berada dalam kategori cukup baik, (2) pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung berada dalam kategori cukup baik, dan (3) persepsi siswa tentang perpustakaan memiliki keterkaitan yang signifikan dengan pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung, yang menghasilkan korelasi kuat. Rekomendasi pada penelitian ini adalah layanan perpustakaan dan pemanfaatan bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 3 Bandung sejauh ini sudah cukup baik dan harus dipertahankan, sehingga fungsi perpustakaan sebagai media informasi dapat memberikan kontribusi kepada sivitas akademika.

Abstract

Abstrak: Sulitnya mencari literatur bahasa asing di perpustakaan menjadi masalah bagi mahasiswa departemen bahasa asing dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi akademiknya. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini secara umum adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Asing Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui informasi apa yang diperlukan mahasiswa DPBA, (2) untuk mengetahui asal sumber informasi mahasiswa DPBA, (3) untuk mengetahui perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa DPBA, dan (4) untuk mengetahui hambatan yang timbul dalam melakukan pencarian informasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan model studi kasus. Penentuan subjek penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah 12 mahasiswa dari enam departemen bahasa asing yang berbeda yakni Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Arab, Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang, Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman, Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis, Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Korea, dan Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan analisis data yang telah dilakukan peneliti, maka hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa membutuhkan informasi berupa buku penunjang seperti buku teks, modul, video dan rekaman, literatur mengenai kebudayaan, kesusastraan, dan tata bahasa. Sumber informasi yang digunakan mahasiswa adalah ruang baca, buku, internet, dan sumber manusia. Kemudian, perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa adalah dengan starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, extracting, verifying, dan ending, serta hambatan internal dan eksternal yang dialami mahasiswa. Kata Kunci : Kebutuhan Informasi, Perilaku Pencarian Informasi, Sumber Informasi Abstract. Based on the result of observation, the students of foreign language departements find the dificulty for finding foreign languages literature. It becomes a main problem for them to fulfill their information needs, especially for supporting their academic needs. Generally, this research aims to determine the information seeking behavior of foreign language departement' students. Meanwhile, the specific purposes of this research are 1) determining types of information those are needed by the students of DFLE, 2) finding the sources of information those are needed by them, 3) knowing the information seeking behavior of DFLE students, and 4) determining the obstacles when seking information. This research is done by using descriptive qualitative and case sudy model.. Purposive sampling is used for selecting informants. There are twelve informants from six different foreign language departements, those are departement of arabic language education, departement of japanese language education, departemen of germanic language education, departement of french language education, departement of korean language education, and departement of english language education. Interview and document study are chosen as techniques of collecting data. The result shows that text books, module, video and record, literature about cultures and grammar are kind of library collection those are needed by them. Reading room, books, and internet, and human explanation are the sources they used to get information. The information seeking behavior of students are starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, extracting, verifying, and ending.
