Abstract

From its beginning, this research is believed to offer contribution to local social and political development in form of a knowledge, as its result shows findings about a leadership shifts from kyai into umara’ in local political dynamics and democracy system. Secondly, these findings about leadership concepts are very valuable for kyai who held a structural position. Therefore, this research is conducted in a location where most of the regencies are led by kyai as in Sumenep and Pamekasan regency in Madura island. Madura island is known for its paternalistic character where religious leaders play influential position as a role model in society. The result of this research indicates that, first, there’s a leadership shift from traditional into rational leadership in bureaucratic environment, whereas the bureaucracy itself were also transformed into a more traditional one as they held the recitation of kitab kuning and istighosah in town hall funded by Regional Budgets. The leadership of kyai as regent is determined by three aspect: its cultural and structural strength and its adaptability into a rational bureaucratic environment. The confirmation to the concept of leadership. Max Weber uses three types of leadership paradigm that includes traditional leadership, charismatic and also rational leadership. So does this leadership shift of kyai into politics. Kyais enter the political structure, so kyais must abide by prevailing values in this type of rational political leadership such as democracy and political technical procedures. Democracy upholds the principle of transparency and direct participation of the community. Kyais are facing two choices: to follow the traditional religious values or the values of democracy. What will happen next is not the the kyai’s choice.   Key words: leadership,  regent,  kyai, policy, development.

Abstract

Indonesia is an incredibly diverse country in terms of religion, belief, ethnic, race, language, culture, custom and tradition. As far as the religious diversity is concerned, it is the most challenging one for all people, particularly relating to the question of how to build lasting harmony between religious communities in culturally and religiously plural countries. Due to this highest urgency, this paper tries to briefly investigate the inter-religious harmony in the historical perspective. It is based on historical facts that all religion, especially Islam teaches the followers to promote peace and tolerance and to develop to live in harmony with other religions. Islam in fact frees non-Muslims: Christian, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, and etc to practice their faith and belief. In addition, this paper also shortly outlines the MUI’s role in improving interfaith dialogue to create interreligious harmony in Indonesia today.   Keywords: peaceful, negotiations, dialogue, religion

Abstract

This study discusses the conversion of paddy fields in the village Sekarsuli Berbah District of Sleman which continued to increase from time to waktu. Kabupaten Sleman establish areas of productive agricultural centers to maintain the ability to produce food, especially rice. For research purposes; (1) identify the value of land and land development rights value fields and, (2) identify the response of farmers to estimate the value of land development rights if it is offered as a basis for determining the value of conservation programs. Subjects were farmers in the Sekarsuli as many as 35 people using primary sampling. Data snowball of observations using instruments terbuka. Data questionnaire secondary use of data from BPS. Paddy land conservation programs will be sustained when the value of the program is received and in accordance with the expectations of land owners. One model for determining the conservation program is the value of land development rights. The value of land development rights is the difference between the expected value of optimal land to the value of land. Estimated value of the subsequent land development rights offered to landowners if they agreed that if the value was used as the basis of determining the value of land conservation programs. Response data analysis techniques landowners using logit regression. The estimation results concluded (1) obtained an average value of land use by 55% of the estimated value of optimal land. The amount of excess is an average of 45%, referred to as the value of land development rights (Value Development Right). (2) Respondents agree with the conservation program as many as 24 respondents, disagree as much as 11 responden.Luas land and public facilities Distance lands to be an influential factor on the farmer's decision to accept or reject the offered programs. Abstract

This research is an analysis of human resources that aims to determine whether theory of human capital (education spending) affects career planning of labor in the mining sector. Using sample of workers in the mining sector was obtained from National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS), which had been collected by Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in 2010 in the province of East Kalimantan. The samples were 747 formal sector workers. Analysis tools used are Multinomial Logit. The results showed that vocational education and sex had positive significant impact on the workers who work in the mining sector, therefore career planning can be started early in the planning of education (human capital theory). This study is associated with the empirical study if it can be said that the social (education) affect the initial step in a career workforce. Higher education in this study received less opportunity, while vocational education is more likely able to work in the formal sector.   Keywords: Education, Gender, Formal Mining Sector

Abstract

Dawah as a religious practice is well known. However, how it can help organizations to relay differentiate on the basis of their workforce is unknown to business and management scholars. This concept paper aims to contribute to management knowledge by proposing a Dawah based perspective to brand the workforce for service organizations, operating particularly in Muslim countries such as Indonesia and Pakistan. The Quranic verses are interpreted (in a much more focused way) to extract a few key elements which can be used by organizations to train their workforce. The article also highlights how Muslim countries can collaborate with each other to practice Dawah at the workplace. Keywords: Dawah, ethics, Muslim, Islam

Abstract

Squeeze casting or often also called liquid metal forging is a process in which molten metal is inserted in the mold and pressed. This study aims to determine the alumina effect and the pressure effect of squeeze casting  against tensile strength and microstructure of AL-Al2O3 composite. In this study, used a variation of pressure of 100 MPa, 120 MPa, and 140 MPa and weight percent alumina of 5%wt, 10%wt, and 15%wt. The results of this study showed the highest tensile tests on specimens with a mixture of 10%wt alumina and 140 Mpa pressure with an average yield of 215 MPa, as for his dendrite spacing was 17.62 mm. It is revealed that the addition of an alumina to the Al-Al2O3 composite will raise the strength of 10% by weight of alumina. Keywords: squeeze casting, Aluminum, Alumina.

Abstract

M. Amin Abdullah was born in Pati, Central Java, on  July 28, 1953.  The Academic Anxiety  was experienced by Amin Abdullah is a dichotomy between religion and science education, human behavior is not as it should, and the global crisis that hit in the current era . He took the theory of Muhammad Abid al-Jabri as knives analysis to explain the Islamic epistemology  about Bayani’s, Burhani’s, and 'Irfani’s epistemology. And give attention to the philosophical approach wich it had been initiated by Fazlur Rahman  in order to try to integrate between kalam and philosophy. He divided the scientific form of Islam into 3 models: Single Entity, Isolated Entity, and interconected Entity. The Three-dimensional scientific development intend to bring back the modern sciences with  Islamic sciences  (integrated-interconned). The third form was being the cornerstone to develop an integrated-interconnected approach in relation to the scientific development of academic.  This wide approach is essentially just wanted to show that among the various fields of science actually interconnected, as targeted by the entire scientific disciplines is the reality of the universe which  is the same, only the dimensions and the focus of attention is seen by each scientific disciplines are different. Abstract

Islam has been existed in European countries since couple centuries ago through science-based approach.   The involvement of Moslem scientists, in the era of Islamic sciences transition and transformation process, were done in term of translating literature and education given to Europeans. The role of Islam towards development of European civilization since renaissance and aufklarung era until present days could not be neglected. Yet, the harmony between European and Islamic countries relationship was fluctuated; it because of various causes, both internal and external factors. The perspective of European communities towards Islam decreased until its lowest level; even Islamophobia perspective appeared massively in among non-Moslem European societies. The perspective caused Moslems, the minority in European societies, got injustice and it caused them irritated psychologically. Ideally, Islamophobia could be decreased or even omitted if European societies were willing to explore and understand the teachings of Islam which are full of compassion and peace. One of the teachings’ core was the tolerance, which was full of appreciation and respect toward human being. It was a symbol that Islam is a religion for the universe (rahmatan lil ‘alamin).
