The word is strung into the verses of the Koran is a divine sentence a similar level of fluency and beauty of literature between one verse with other verses. Although the Koran uses mutashâbih al-lafz and tikrâr, the choice of words is representative of the context is going on. This means that the choice of words shows the detail of information that occurred and the repetition of words not followed essentially the repetition of meaning, but brings new meaning different from the first words that are complementary and not interchangeable. This rule is brought to Ibn al-Zubayr al-Gharnâtî trough his creation, Milâk al-Taâwîl al-Qâtiâ bi Dhawi al-Ilhâd wa al-Taât}îl fî Tawjîh al-Mutashâbih al-Lafz min Ãy al-Tanzîl. This creation became a real reflection of insight cleric Granada, which uses the method applied research (al-manhâj al-tatbîqî al-tahlîlî) in every discussion. This article will explain the interpretation of Ibn Zubayr on the causes of differences in editorial verses of the Koran, known as al-lafz mutashâbih.

Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. It is of course also has a significant correlation with the need for a true understanding of the Koran as the main guideline in the life of a Muslim. This paper attempts to discuss the development of interpretation studies in Indonesia. However, because of the many works of commentary that exist in Indonesia, then this paper will explain in more detail in the full interpretation 30 chapters, while the commentaries that are thematic, and which only focus on certain papers will cover more briefly author so hopefully this study will cover the whole work of interpretation that exist in Indonesia comprehensively but solid content. The development of the interpretation of the Koran in Indonesia is somewhat different. Study commentary in the Arab world develop quickly and rapidly, because Arabic is the language, so they do not experience significant difficulties to understand the Koran. This is different to the Indonesian people whose native language is not Arabic.

This article discusses two seemingly contradictory hadith, is t tradition of male genitalia. There is a hadith which states that the thigh is including for male genitalia, so that should be covered, and there is another tradition that informs that the Prophet ever -in some circumstances-lifting clothes so it looks his thigh. This seems contradictory hadith then tried to reconcile with utilizing the science of hadith traditions that are concerned in this matter, namely mukhtalif al-hadîth. By the several methods of settlement, the authors take the methods of al-jamâ. Under this settlement, it can be seen that the two traditions is basically not contradictory, both are maqbûl and maâmul bih, prohibition to open thighs is makrûh tanzîh arbitrate and be open is allowed if there is an intent.

Prophet Muh}ammad recommends to us, the Muslims to always keep and save his Sunnah of alteration and forgery. In addition, the Prophet Muh}ammad also invited and called for his Sunnah preserved and passed on to others. Instead, the Prophet threatens those who lie on his behalf, also those who add and subtract, especially falsifying his hadith, criticism of honor becomes a necessity in the narration hadith. If at the present time, the researchersâ hadith criticism has been presented with the concept of honor that has been established, it is different from previous periods. Criticism of honor has a history that may not be forgotten and will always experience growth. Discussion on the issue will be reviewed in this article. The article also stated that the seriousness of the researchersâ tradition from generation to generation has never diminished, despite the criticism of the method used matn not exactly the same as before.

As a religious book, the Koran has long interacted with his people, even since he was there. The forms of interaction are seen in the tradition of making the Koran as an object of memorization (tahfîdh), writing (kitâbah), and interpretation studies (tafsîr). For the case in Indonesia, there Haflah Tilâwat al-Qurâân in the tradition of people in Bima. A Haflah Tilâwat al-Qurâân is an event in which the reciters gather to recite verses of the Koran by using the art of reading al-Qurâan. Implementation is left to the community which is then coupled with the traditions of the people who will be in the title, especially in the tradition of weddings and circumcisions. The interesting phenomenon is that after a reciter finished reciting verses of the Koran are the meaning and explanation of the content of the verse being read by a cleric. This article will explore the phenomenon of living Koran in the tradition of the Bima, how Haflah Tilâwat al-Qurâân is held in the tradition of Bimaâs community and society, and how Haflah Tilâwat al-Qurâân is purported?

Sahâbah are narrators who occupy a prime position among other narrators of hadith chain network. In the absence of a companion is not possible news about the directions of the Prophet can come up to the next generation of Muslims. Fair (It is of râwî) nature narrator of hadith is a necessary condition that must be owned by a person who wants to tell you all about the prophet Muhammad and convey what he said. Conditions to be met, such as the hadith placed as a second source of Islam after the Koran. Unlike the case with the general history of transmitters qualifying was not so contentious. This is because the presentations of the history of society tend to be aimed at mere knowledge, is the news of the prophet in connection with religion. The emergence of groups often caused by differing views. No exception to the emergence of the Sunnî and Shîâah, who to this day are still debating the truth claims. Then this article will discuss the background of the emergence of a group, it will provide clarity about what the objective to be achieved

In the Abbasid period, the understanding of the Koran is still fairly freely, each reader has its own way to understand it. Freedom in understanding the Koran is ultimately impressed the wild, especially for those who do not master language of Koran. Therefore, at that time the scholars took the initiative to make the rules in the understanding of the Koran. Al-Shâfiâî began drafting rules neatly in the form of scientific discourse that ultimately became a reference for commentators to understand the Koran. With his expertise, al-Shâfiâî interprets the verses of the Koran by some combination of the two methods of flow on the body of Muslims at that time. The second stream is the hadîth experts and the rational. Seeing the importance of the interpretation of al-Shâfiâî, Islamic scholars vying to compile the results of the interpretation of al-Shâfiâî spread sporadically in his works, so comes the book Ahkâm al-Qurâân li al-Imâm al-Shâfiâî created by Bayhaqî, Tafsîr al-Imâm al-Shâfiâî created by al-Shaurî, and the Tafsîr al-Imâm al-Shâfiâî created by al-Farran. This paper will explore the history of the Tafsîr al-Shâfiâî, al-Shâfiâîâs method of interpreting the Koran, and the characteristic that distinguishes it from the others commentators.

This article will examine the meaning of the word in the Koran jâhilîyah mentioned as many as 24 verses in 17 letters with various forms of the semantic approach. This approach is an option given the existence of this word has been around since pre-islamic Arab past, as evidenced by the presence of all jâhilîyah lyric. In addition, the commentators also provide a diverse meaning to the word. Ibn Jarîr al-T{abarî that in fact as a classical commentators, stating that the meaning of the word refers jâhilîyah person who has committed a disgraceful act or any person who commits sin intentionally. While Sayyid Qutb see it as the opposite of âilm and maârifah. In view of Quraish Shihab is jâhilîyah is not only opposed to the word âilm but also in the sense of losing control of himself, so that actors do things that are not fair, either at the instigation of appetite, temporary interests, or parochialism. Many differences of opinion about the meaning of the word jâhilîyah, interesting to study further with semantics as analysis approach

The study of the Koran is always evolving since it revealed. The emergence of the various books of commentary which is loaded with various methods and approaches, is clear evidence that efforts to interpret the Koran was never stopped, and that the Muslims intend to make it as a dialogue partner in life and to develop a civilization. In each period, interpretation has its own peculiarities and characteristics. Between one period to another can not be forced together. Related to the issue, this paper presents the mapping of classical interpretation studies whose focuses on âthe characteristics and uniqueness of this interpretation.â The interpretation of the Koran in classical period has not revealed in a specific form, both al-maâthûr or al-raây. Historically, the study of hadith in Islam emerged as the study of sîrah. Both of these disciplines appear as awareness and concern of the classical Muslim scholars to the purity and preservation of the historical mission of the Prophet Muhammad. The contribution of hadith to the formation of Islamic historiography in general, is not only just limited to the provision of material which is enormous for writing sîrah, but also has implications for the formation of Islamic historiography writing methods, such as the method isnâd as a character of hadith expert, and the chronological method as the character of historians. Al-Tabaqât al-Kabîr by Ibn Saâd (w. 230 H.) is considered as a pioneering work that elaborates on two systems. Even when viewed as an integrative, the works of Ibn Saâd regarded as the only one pioneering work who elaborates three forms of historiography at once (sîrah, maghâzî, and asmââ al-rijâl). Collaborative forms of Islamic historiography in the works of Ibn Saâd is certainly a new breakthrough in the classical historiography art which is in previously only in fragmentary form.
