Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan isu perundungan dalam karya KKPK (Kecil-Kecil Punya Karya) berjudul ?Let?s Sing With Me? (2013). Perundungan dilakukan oleh tokoh perempuan terhadap teman sebayanya yang juga perempuan.  Perundungan disebabkan rasa iri antar tokoh, berupa celaan, penghinaan, dan julukan negatif. Teori strategi naratif yang dikemukakan oleh Mieke Bal (1997), Fludernik (1997), dan Priyatna (2010) digunakan untuk membahas isu perundungan. Analisis fokalisator menunjukkan adanya isu perundungan yang digambarkan melalui sikap yang ditampilkan tokoh perempuan sebagai pelaku dan korban perundungan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perundungan yang ditampilkan secara spesifik melalui tokoh perempuan. Kenikmatan sadistik yang dialami pelaku terhadap korban menjadi hal yang biasa. Perundungan yang digambarkan merupakan bagian dari kategori perundungan secara verbal, fisik, dan sosial. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa narator tidak berpihak kepada pelaku maupun korban perundungan sehingga dapat diargumentasikan kedua novel bersikap pasif terhadap isu perundungan dan bahkan membiarkan perundungan terjadi.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to find the elements of history  from the kings of Malay in Riau, time of the power, and historic event in Hikayat Negeri Johor. The qualitative method was used with descriptive analysis and comparation study. Results of the study proved that Hikayat Negeri Johor contains many historical elements consisting of figure of the Malay kings, background place and time, and historical events related to their politics and their power. The politics pertain to the dominion of the kings related to some periods, from Sultan Abdul Jalil Syah until Sultan Mahmud. The historical elements can proved from comparation of many sources. The conclusion is that this work has highly historical value. This work can be considered to be used in compiling a local history. The content of the historical elements in this work includes six characters of Malay Kings in Riau, places and times of event, and historical events. Based on the comparation study, it was found that many historical events in Hikayat Negeri Johor are proven facts in history.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis researchgoals to describe the text structure of Qash?dah Huwa an-N?r based on Badr's structural theory and explain the form of the word and type of q?fiyah used. The method used is qualitative descriptive with technique of analysis in the form of library technique. The results of this research include text structure as Jawwun-Nash, Al-?Ardhu Al-??m Li an-Nashshi, al-Fikrah, ?Awatif, and language styles. The feature of using figure of speech metaphor and hyperbola is expressed in simple words. Based on the research of the form of words and types of q?fiyah, Qash?dah Huwa an-N?r has two types of words, that is some words and one word.While the type q?fiyah include; The variety of q?fiyah is muthlaqah. The alphabetsof q?fiyah are rawiyy muthlaq washl, khur?j, ta's?s, and dakh?l. The Vowels of  q?fiyah are rass, majr?, isyb?' and Naf?dz. The name of q?fiyah is a mutad?rik and disablement of q?fiyah is not found in this qash?dah.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kana Inai Abang Nguak merupakan salah satu folk lyric masyarakat Dayak Desa yang dituturkan dalam bahasa ritual formal dengan cara dilagukan. Tokoh kana biasanya berkaitan dengan kehidupan khayangan dan merepresentasi alam pemikiran dan pandangan dunia masyarakat Dayak. Makalah ini bermaksud membahas salah satu cerita kana yaitu Inai Abang Nguak dengan menggunakan perspektif naratologi A. J. Greimas. Teks Inai Abang Nguak terdiri dari tujuh sekuen (adegan) cerita skema aktansial yang berpusat pada Inai Abang sebagai subjek cerita. Keberhasilan bumi mengalahkan langit (khayangan) disebabkan oleh tiga faktor: 1) sekalipun langit dikaruniai hidup kekal, mereka sesungguhnya bersaudara dengan bumi ini; 2) tindakan langit menangkap para pemangku adat bumi adalah pelanggaran berat yang perlu mendapat perlawanan keras dari bumi; 3) kekuatan bumi bersatu padu (manusia, hewan, roh, dan kesaktian) menyerang langit dan mengembalikan harmoni bumi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa naratologi Greimas dapat digunakan untuk memahami struktur fisik, struktur batin, hingga struktur diskursif sebuah cerita rakyat.   Abstract: Kana Inai Abang Nguakis one of lyrical folkloreof Dayak Desa community, recited in a specific kind of song with ritual formal language.  Characters in kana ussualy related with heavenly life. The story, however, representing philosophy and world view of Dayak Desa society. This paper aims at discussing one of kana stories, which is Kana Inai Abang Nguak using narratology theory of A. J. Inai Abang Nguak nattarive consist of seven scenes stories centered at Inai Abang as the subject of the story.  Succesful of earth in defeating heaven was based on three main reason. 1) Although heaven has some superior characteristics such as eternal life, earth and heaven have a closed relationship as one family. 2) The act of heaven in arresting adat eldery of earth is considered as a violence of earth common life and the people of earth should fight back. 3) The strength of man power of the earth supported by spitirual being is a leathal weapon in destroying heaven. Finnaly earth defeating heaven and the hamony of the world is back. I can conclude convincingly that Greimas narratology could be used to understand deeply about surface structure, deep structure, and discursive structure of a folkstory.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada kajian dekonstruksi terhadap konsep eksistensialisme tokoh dalam novel Divergent karya Veronica Roth yang berawal dari pengajuan eksistensialisme sebagai nilai arus utama di dalam novel namun masih menimbulkan permasalahan dan isu-isu terkait kebebasan. Secara garis besar, penelitian ini memiliki dua permasalahan utama yaitu (1) bagaimana dekonstruksi bekerja pada eksistensialisme tokoh di dalam novel Divergent, (2) apa nilai-nilai inheren yang termuat di dalam novel sebagai hasil dari kajian dekonstruksi terhadap konsep eksistensialisme tokoh. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori dan metode dekonstruksi sebagai kerangka analisa dan eksistensialisme sebagai konsep. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa eksistensialisme yang digaungkan pengarang sebagai nilai utama justru terdekonstruksi menjadi dehumanisasi tokoh yang masih terjerat ketidakbebasan atas pilihan hidup.

Abstract

This paper aims at explaining the development of creative industry-based oral literature. Banyuwangi's oral literature has autonomously developed along with tradition and modern arts, such as janger, fashion, dance, and song. The use of ethnographic method began with an inventory of bibliographic data and was supplemented by field data through interviews, observations, and participation. The story of Sri Tanjung Sidopekso becomes the janger play and theme of Banyuwangi Ethno Carnival. The mantra of jaran goyang  is transformed into dance and song. Various creative industries have the potential as a source of reconstructing oral literature. In coastal societies there has developed oral literature related to maritime culture. In Muncar Banyuwangi, the rituals of petik laut  use spells and maritime cultural symbols, such as mantras, pilgrimages to the tombs of the founders of the Muncar fishing village. While in Payangan Jember, the story of the founders of the fishing village is respected by singing macapat babad Marsodo. All that has a meaning when it becomes action, knowledge, experience, and appreciation of the supporting community. The results show that oral literature has the potential to inspire the creative industries. Likewise reversely, creative industries have the potential as a source for reconstructing oral literature that enriches their forms and versions.

Abstract

This article strives to deconstruct the main characters? cultural identity in Rishi Reddi?s short stories collection, entitled Karma and Other Stories, as the characters deal with their lives as Indian diaspora in the United States. The applied method is the close-reading technique. This article employs Jacques Derrida?s deconstruction by tracing the binary opposition found within the seven short stories; later they are to be disseminated so that the true meanign can be revealed. The article finds that (1) the emerging conflicts in the stories are caused by the strong ties of the protagonists toward Hinduism and Indian family tradition, with (2) their cultural identity has managed to align with modernity in the US, but (3) their ties to the core Hinduism and Indian principles will remain strong.
