Abstract

This research was conducted to study the relationships between academic performance, learning motivation, institutionalised environments and guardian involvement of children reared in a Malaysian orphanage. This study involves 50 students consisting of 21 female and 29 male students. These students are in secondary school with ages ranging from 13-17 years old. This study was conducted in a home for orphans and under-privileged children and all the participants of this study are from this home. The findings of this study show that there is a significant relationship between academic performance, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation and therefore learning motivation as a whole (P<0.05). Findings also show that there is strong correlation between guardian involvement and academic performance (P<0.05). However for relationships between guardian involvement and learning motivation, institutionalised environment and academic performance and institutionalised environment and guardian involvement, correlations fail to exist (P>0.05).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan (1) ciri-ciri perencanaan pembelajaran matematika; (2) ciri-ciri pelaksanaan matematika; dan (3) ciri-ciri evaluasi kurikulum matematika. Jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan desain etnografi. Lokasi di SD Negeri Mangkubumen 83 Surakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Analisis data dengan tiga tahapan yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan simpulan dengan verifikasinya. Hasil penelitian (1) perencanaan pembelajaran matematika disusun oleh guru secara berkelompok dengan berpedoman pada kurikulum tingkat satuan pendidikan (KTSP), dikembangkan sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan sekolah masing-masing. (2) Tujuan pembelajaran matematika berpedoman pada kurikulum tingkat satuan pendidikan. Materi pembelajaran matematika terdiri dari 6 (enam) standar kompetensi yang terbagi untuk semester I sebanyak 4 (empat) standar kompetensi, dan 2 (dua) standar kompetensi untuk semester II. Metode pembelajaran matematika yang digunakan oleh guru adalah metode deduktif, demonstrasi, diskusi, ekspositori,latihan, dan tanya jawab. Jenis media pembelajaran matematika bermacam-macam,dengan tujuan untuk menjelaskan konsep matematika. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu tahap awal, tahap inti pembelajaran, dan tahap akhir. (3) Evaluasi kurikulum mata pelajaran Matematika, dilakukan oleh kepalasekolah selama proses pembelajaran dan akhir semester dengan cara observasi, dan pengamatan dokumentasi. Komponen evaluasi kurikulum terdiri dari: penilaian standar isi, penilaian perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, standar penilaian, dan standar kelulusan

Abstract

This classroom action research is aimed at improving activities and students understanding of biological concepts by applying the strategies SQ3R. SQ3R strategies make it possible for students to learn systematically, effectively and efficiently in the face of various teaching materials. The research was done at SMA Negeri 5 Kendari, in academic year 2013/2014. The subject of the research were 42 student that registered in the second semester of the school year 2013/2014. The data collecting method were done by using interview and observation. Source data from this study was the measurement of student learning activities using observation sheet comprehension test and measurement concept that refers to indicators of understanding of the concept according to Anderson and Krathwoll in the first cycle, second cycle and third cycle. The data analysis was done by descriptive statistics. The research concludes that: 1) The percentage score  activitiies students in first cycle is 77,08, second cycle is 82,14%, and the three cycle is 86,31%. 2) ) The percentage score understanding of the concept in first cycle is 72,62%, second cycle is 90,18%, and the three cycle is 92,62%.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to obtain 1) description of the use of learning media as teaching resource on biology learning process that has been happening in the field 2) the views and constraints faced by teachers in the field for delivering protein synthesis subject. 3) formulation of learning media that needs to be developed on biology learning of protein synthesis subject. The observation result was in the form of teacher’s needs assessment instrument that analyzed using descriptive qualitative obtained that the use of learning media as teaching resource on biology learning process that has been happening in the field has not done optimally. There are constraints in delivery of material, especially material that cannot be observed directly or abstract. 2) The protein synthesis subject is a difficult subject, in its delivery, teachers need media that can visualize the process of protein synthesis for twelfth grade and explain it in detail and correctly so there is no misconception of students towards protein synthesis subject. 3) The learning media that needs to be developed in biology learning of protein synthesis subject is in the form of audio-visual media.

Abstract

This classroom action research is aimed to improve student learning outcomes using a scientific approach with the blackberry messergers  and the jigsaw method.  The application of scientific approaches, media BBM and methods Jigsaw is one of the innovative learning implementation is expected to improve student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the first cycle of the classroom action research showed that: the average attitude score assesment is 76.9, the percentage of mastery of learning outcomes is 61 %.   The average score assessment skills (psychomotor) , project, and portfolio is  77.9, and the percentage of mastery of learning outcomes is 69%. The average of cognitive score (cognitive) on the written test or assignment is 78.0, and the percentage of mastery of learning outcomes is 69%.In the second cycle showed an increase, the average attitude score assesment (attitude) of   XI TIPTL 2 is 81.4, the percentage of mastery of learning outcomes is 89%. The average score assessment skills (psychomotor), project, and portfolio is 82, and the percentage of mastery of learning outcomes is 97%. The average of cognitive score (cognitive) on the written test or assignment is 84.2, and the percentage of mastery of learning outcomes is 97%.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membacaRecount text dan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris melaluipenggunaan model pembelajaran Group Investigation bagi siswa kelas VIIIESMP Negeri 1 Boyolali pada semester 2 tahun 2016/2017.Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada siswa kelas VIIIE SMP Negeri 1 Boyolali pada semester 2 tahun 2016/2017. Jumlah siswa dalam kelas ini adalah 26 siswa yang terdiri dari 11 siswa laki-laki dan 15 siswa perempuan. Siswa diberikan perlakuan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Group Investigation dalam 2 siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Siklus I pembelajaran secara kelompok besar yang terdiri atas 8 siswa, sedangkan siklus II pembelajaran secara kelompok kecil terdiri atas 4 siswa.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Untuk validasi data, observasi tidak dilakukan sendiri oleh peneliti, tetapi berkolaborasi dengan siswa dan teman sejawat, serta dengan teknik tes. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif komparatif yang dilanjutkan dengan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran Group Investigation dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Recount text dan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris bagi siswa kelas VIIIE SMP Negeri 1 Boyolali pada semester 2 tahun 2016/2017. Dari kondisi awal kemampuan membaca Recount text rendah ke kondisi akhir menjadi tinggi dan hasil belajar dari kondisi awal dari rata-rata nilai 77 ke kondisi akhir rata-rata menjadi 87 naik 10 poin atau 12.99%.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa melalui model pembelajaran Learning cycle 7E dalam materi komponen ekosistem. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Bringin dengan menggunakan siswa kelas X IPA 4sebagai subyek. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dengan instrumen pengumpulan datanya berupa angket, lembar observasi, wawancara dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pada siklus I siswa yang memiliki aktivitas belajar kategori baik sebesar 62,5%. Pada siklus II aktivitas belajar kategori baik meningkat menjadi 93,75% dan aktivtias belajar kategori sangat baik sebesar 6,25%. Berdasarkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa, persentase siswa yang memenuhi KKM 70 pada siklus I sebesar 43,75% meningkat menjadi 100%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis gain score, pada siklus I siswa yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi sebesar 43,75%, kategori sedang sebesar 21,88% dan kategori rendah sebesar 34,38%. Pada siklus II siswa yang termasuk kategori tinggi sebesar 81,25%, kategori sedang sebesar 12,50% dan kategori rendah sebesar 6,25%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model LC 7E mampu membuat siswa lebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Melalui aktivitas belajar yang dilakukan siswa lebih mudah untuk memahami dan mengingat konsep materi sehingga hasil belajar kognitif siswa meningkat.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are (1) to test the effect difference of problem based learning strategies guided inquiry and modified free inquiry on student learning outcomes, to (2) test the effect difference early ability categories of high, medium and low student to student learning outcomes, and (3)  to test the interaction between early ability category strategy with high, medium and low student to student learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative with quasi experiment Desain. The population are all students of class VII MTs Tamirul Islam Surakarta. The research sample two classes. The sampling technique is cluster random sampling by lottery. Data collection techniques used cognitive testing and documentation. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance of two different cell. The results of the study with α = 5%. The results are (1) there are differences in the effect of problem-based learning strategies guided inquiry and modified free inquiry on student learning outcomes, (2) there are differences in the effect of the initial capabilities categories of high, medium and low student to student learning outcomes, and (3) there is no interaction between early ability category strategy with high, medium and low student to student learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aimed to describe and analyze the implementation of the artistic supervision of Selojari 1 elementary school and to describe and analyze any obstacles faced in learning supervision artistict. Type of this research research is called qualitative research. The collection of data carried out by means of in depth interviews, observations, and use of documents. Data were analyzed with data reduction, data presentation, and draw conclusions. The result of this research showed that artistic supervision planning in Selojari 1 elementary school is to make an systematic artistic supervision format. Implementation of artistic supervision through classroom visits, observe teaching learning activities and also classroom administration aspec. Supervision carried out periodically. Implementation feedback artistic supervision carried out by the headmaster as supervisor by making a connection humanist, harmonious and appreciate the personal character and talents of teachers.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendiskripsikan perangkat pembelajaran RPP Matematika (2) Mendiskripsikan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran RPP Matematika berbasis Konstruktivisme, dan (3) Menguji efektivitas pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran RPP Matematika berbasis Konstruktivisme. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development). Teknik triangulasi digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dengan metode observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari dua komponen yaitu reduksi data dan penyajian data. Hasil dan pembahasan dari penelitan adalah (1) perangkat pembelajaran RPP Matematika yang telah diterapkan masih menggunakan RPP Matematika sekolah pada umumnya, pada kegiatan inti siswa belum maksimal membangun sendiri pengetahuannya untuk penemuan konsep baru, (2) pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran RPP Matematika berbasis konstruktivisme dengan desain pembelajaran meliputi 5 tahap yaitu: Orientasi, Eliciasi, Restrukturisasi Ide, Penggunaan Ide, dan Review yang diimplementasikan pada kegiatan inti, dan (3) nilai tes pemahaman konsep menggunakan RPP berbasis Konstruktivisme, nilai rata-rata kelasnya adalah 79,02 dari 70,00. Siswa yang mendapat nilai ≥ 75 ada 18 siswa atau 78,26 %. (KKM Matematika = 75).
