Abstract

The fundamental accomplishment of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) concept is to replace unnecessary plastics used in the packaging and towards a green packaged product concept that is sustainable and environmentally friendly. Aqua Life's innovative bottled water contributes to achieving sustainability with packaging made from recycled and recyclable materials. Consequently, this study extended the Value Attitude Behavior (VAB) model by using the following construct: environmental consciousness, attitudes toward environmental issues, attitudes toward eco-social benefits, green product information, green product quality, availability of desired green packaged products, and green product attributes; to explain consumers’ green purchase behavior. This study was to survey 251 college students in Surakarta city. The data were analyzed using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) method. The results show that environmental consciousness, attitudes toward environmental issues, green product information, availability of desired green packaged products, and green product attribute as a significant predictor

Abstract

Rubber is one of the non oil-gas product from South Sumatera. However, several companies in this sector are not yet concerned with environmental aspects. Most companies have a profit-oriented goal regardless of environmental aspects especially waste management. The environmental aspect has not been integrated into the supply chain in practice so that its implementation has not been effective. Green supply chain management is a way to integrate it. Applications of green supply chain management in companies could help to minimize the impact of environmental pollution. However GSCM performance measurement has not been widely carried out in the rubber processing industry, especially those located in South Sumatra. So the aim of this research is to analyze the performance of GSCM using the green SCOR model. The results showed that the value of GSCM performance in PT. Sunan Rubber Palembang is categorized as average with a value of 64.03.

Abstract

Efficiency in the supply chain can be established by integrating the supplier-retailer inventory policy. This article proposes the integrated inventory model between supplier-retailer under stochastic demand. This model aims to determine the optimal review period and calculate the total inventory cost, including some defective items, backorder price discounts, and losing flexibility costs. We assume that the retailer can order  'n' times for every 'm' shipment from supplier to retailer in each production cycle under a periodic review. Stochastic conditions can cause sudden changes in orders by the retailer in large quantities, eventually forcing the supplier to reduce their setup policies. This condition makes the retailer be charged a losing flexibility cost as compensation for the reduction setup pushed by the supplier in a long-term partnership contract. Based on numerical examples and sensitivity analysis, the percentage of defective items in each shipment from supplier to retailer significantly affects integrated total inventory cost.

Abstract

Abstract.   Tempe Murni small unit is a tempeh processing business located in Ngoto, Bangunharjo, Sewon, Bantul, Yogyakarta. There was a work process which caused muscle fatigue on the process of making holes on the tempeh wraps using manual tool because it had not met the ergonomic standard. The work posture of the workers in doing the work was sitting on the floor, the left leg was folded inward and the right leg was stretched forward a little bit, thus, it might cause musculoskeletal complaints. Therefore, it required an ergonomic tempeh plastic wrap punching tool which could reduce the musculoskeletal complaints and the working time of the workers.The research object was the workers in the process of making holes on the tempeh plastic wraps. This research used ergonomic and anthropometric approaches to determine the dimensions of the workers’ bodies. The Nordic Body Map (NBM) and the Visual Analogue Scale were used to determine the musculoskeletal complaints of workers.The results showed that the ergonomic design of the punching tool could reduce musculoskeletal complaints of pain sensation on the upper neck from the initial Visual Analog Scala (VAS) score of 65 into mild pain category with the scale score of 25. The initial back pain complaint with a moderate category with the scale score of 70 was reduced into mild pain category with the scale score of 16. The initial moderate pain on waist with the scale score of 70 was reduced into mild pain with the scale score of 18. The initial moderate pain on buttocks with the scale score of 70 was reduced into mild pain with the scale score of 26. The initial moderate pain on the lower part of the buttocks with a scale score of 69 was reduced into mild pain with a scale score of 29. The working time was reduced from 1.03 hours/unit into 0.52 hour/unit.

Abstract

Based on Law No. 1 of 1970 every company must prevent accidents (including traffic accidents on the way to and from work), fires occupational diseases. The problem in this study is the number of traffic accidents by employees of the Plumbing Fitting Company in Tangerang. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that cause traffic accidents and provide solutions for preventing traffic accidents for company employees. Analysis of the factors causing traffic accidents uses the PDCA concept, where this concept has several stages, namely Plan, Do, Check, and Action. The result of this research is employee traffic accidents decreased from 16 accident cases to 3 accident cases or if calculated on average before repair 1.34 accident cases per month and after repair 0.3 accident cases per month decreased by 77.6%.

Abstract

The current phenomenon is that many areas have the potential as tourist destinations but are not managed and equipped with proper facilities as tourist areas. Teluk Penyu is one of the tourism destinations that have the potential to develop. Therefore, improvements to the management of the Teluk Penyu need to be made to increase the interest of visiting tourists. This study uses the Kano Model, which focuses on the facilities and presents the Tourist Attraction Variable (A4), including accessibility, amenities, attractions, and ancillary. The results of this study indicate that the satisfaction attributes of A4 can be grouped into Kano's satisfaction category, namely one attribute in the must-be category, eight in one-dimensional, seven in attractive, and four in indifferent. Therefore, the priority for improvement starts from the must-be, one-dimensional, and attractive categories.

Abstract

The increase in transactions through e-commerce due to changes in consumer buying behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic affected the demand for logistics services for the delivery of goods. The quality of logistics services can affect customer satisfaction and loyalty, and logistics service companies must provide added value to the services provided. This is what underlies the making of this research to be able to provide innovation proposals and improve service quality to courier service providers to support government programs to improve the quality of national logistics services. The method used in this research is Logistic Service Quality (LSQ), which analyzes problems in courier services. Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) is used to solve problems in the object of research and provide suggestions for improvement.

Abstract

Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Yogyakarta City always tries to monitor, control, and control activities regarding all aspects of the environment, one of which is watering plants. The right path must be selected so as not to exceed the time limit set. This study aims to determine the direction of watering plants in Sector 3 for Vehicle Route Problem (VRP) using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and compare the performance results of the PSO method with the Genetic Algorithm (GA) in previous studies. The VRP criteria are heterogeneous fleet, intermediated facility, multi-trip, split delivery, and times window   (VRPHFIFMTSDTW). The results of the comparison between the two methods, namely, the GA method, are better than the PSO method in terms of computational time efficiency and fitness value. The total travel time for the GA method is 22 minutes, or 2.1% faster than the PSO method. In contrast, the total distance traveled by the PSO method is 345 meters shorter than the GA method. These two methods' results are also excellent compared to the current watering route. The difference in total mileage is about 20.4%, and total travel time is about 11.7% between the two methods.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the performance of the batik ironing machine (calendering) towards ensuring optimal finishing due to the problems associated with the inability to measure the mechanical system of its roll which normally leads to the unevenness of the products. Finishing is an important process in batik production and this is commonly achieved through the calendering machine which is known as one of the mechanical refinements involving a rolling process conducted using high temperatures and pressures to produce fabric products with a flat, smooth, and shiny surface and also create a smooth, moire, and an embossed effect. It is, however, important to note that operators in the batik industry are currently being faced with the problems of finishing and this means there is a need for the appropriate tool for refinement of the fabric. Therefore, this observational study was conducted with the focus on identifying the main components and calculating the mechanical strength of the calendering machine in the batik industry. This involved using the solid work software and the results showed that the calendering machine generally consists of five rolls divided into three metal and two soft rolls. The metal roll has a smooth surface with a hole in the middle for heating which implies it functions as the ironing tool while the soft roll serves as a pressure booster during the ironing process. Moreover, the analysis of structural mechanics showed that the machine has the ability to iron 3.53 meters of fabric in 1 minute. It was also observed that it has six main parts which are the preparation, roller calendar, engine frame, transmission system, boiler engine, and special cooling. The machine was able to produce a batik fabric with a flat, smooth, and shiny surface, thereby, increasing its quality

Abstract

In three-dimensional concurrent engineering context, product, process, and supply chain designs are approached by the imperative of concurrency principle. The imperative of concurrency proposes product architecture and supply chain architecture conducted simultaneously. The detailed product design and production process design are conducted simultaneously. While manufacturing system design is conducted simultaneously with logistic system design. This study concerns on integrating production planning with distribution planning in a new plastic bags plant. Since the plant is relatively new, the number of orders is still scarce. Therefore, production planning becomes critical. Producing more products than required creates inventories while producing as many as the order required creates an intermittent production schedule. A mathematical is developed to simultaneously schedule production and distribution to maximize profit. The model provides solutions on the number of materials to be delivered, the number of products produced and delivered within its period for the planning horizon.
