Abstract

In order for warehousing performance to remain at the standard, it is necessary to monitor the performance in the warehousing area, such as utilization and quality of goods in the warehouse, to increase the value of a company. Several drug retailers in Indonesia, especially in the Yogyakarta area, have not yet measured the performance of their warehousing activities, so it is not clear what improvements need to be made. With a comprehensive monitoring activity of warehousing activities, it can support the company to obtain helpful information that can help improve the performance of ongoing operations. This study was conducted to determine the performance position using the Frazelle model during the covid 19 pandemic in a drug retail business or pharmacy so that researchers can provide recommendations for improvements that can improve warehouse performance. The performance for the warehouse has a warehouse performance value of 55.60 and is included in the Average category. This recommendation can also be used as a benchmarking reference for other industries.

Abstract

The Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) is one of the factors that must be always monitored during the implementation of construction in achieving the success of project objectives. The implementation of SMK3 and decision-making still comes from project actors with different levels of experience gaps, causing the decisions taken to be less systematic and affecting the productivity of project performance. The purpose of the research is to conduct risk management simulations to increase insight into risk management and mitigation as a support for appropriate decision making in supporting project productivity, quality, and cost.Risk identification process through brainstorming, interviews, and observations with competent resource persons and project actors who have more than 5 years of experience in railway projects. Risk identification generates parameters and measures project risk by processing data using SPSS V23 software and dynamic simulation using Vensim PLE software. Simulation shows that there is a decrease in risk parameters in design and technology by -6.29%, construction management -5,12%, work safety and environment -5,90%, materials and equipment 3,37% and logistics -6,23%. Management of SMK3 by combining methods can increase accuracy in making risk mitigation decisions and can improve and understand the complexity of overall risk management performance from time to time.

Abstract

Assembly is a common activity in manufacturing companies. The use of handtools during assembly creates pressure on the palms surface which can lead to injury. To reduce the risk of injury, operators need to use gloves as personal protective equipment. Regardless of the general function of the glove, the type of glove tends to be chosen specifically for each task. But there is no specific method to determine the right gloves for certain activities. It is important to know the effect of using gloves on the palms surface during work activities. So this study aims to design a measuring instrument that can determine the pressure on the palm surface during activities by wearing gloves. This is done in order to be able to choose the right gloves for assembly. The result shown that during assembly the areas on the palms receive different pressure. Areas of the palms that receive the greatest pressure are the distal phalanx, and proximal phalanx on the index, middle, ring and little fingers. Pressure on the palms surface differs depending on the type of glove used. This may be due to the thickness of the glove, the thinner the glove, the greater the pressure on the palms surface. Assembling the chair using leather gloves has the lowest pressure value compared to other gloves. The pressure value on the palms surface when wearing leather gloves during the assembly of the chair is 262.15 N, 40% lower than the assembly without using gloves.

Abstract

PT SUP is one of the companies engaged in trading broiler chicken products. Supplying broiler chickens to PT SUP sometimes results in product instability, and some conditions are inadequate; the financing process is not by income or obstacles that occur when serving customers. So this can disappoint the customers of PT SUP. This study aims to select suppliers for 4 out of 6 breeders chosen as the best suppliers and will get a reward from PT SUP to improve the performance and product results of the suppliers. The selection of the best supplier is based on the criteria that have been owned, namely Based on Curriculum Vitae (CV), location of the cage, capital, and service. The six suppliers come from 3 (each city has two suppliers), namely Lumajang, Lamongan, and Kediri. In this study, the author uses the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method to produce a consistent value of comparison results. It can be continued with the WP (Weighted Product) approach to get the value of the V vector for ranking alternatives. PT SUP will beard the results of the selection of the best four suppliers. The best supplier of PT SUP are Y1, Y4, Y2 dan Y3. Combining these two methods is a form of contribution to the MCDM enrichment.

Abstract

Abstract.  Honey is a natural food product from a sweet viscous substance formed from flower nectar by honey bees. Honey processing using the pasteurization method has limitations, one of which is temperature. As a result, fungi and spores present in honey have not been eliminated. Non-thermal technology (NTT) is a solution to this limitation, because NTT is a process that applies little or no heat, with the aim of food receiving microbial inactivation, and can extend life, maintain physical quality, nutrition, and sensory freshness. NTT is commonly used in industry, namely in High-Pressure Processing (HPP), Pulsed Electric Field (PEF), Pulsed Light, Cold Plasma (CL), and Ultra Sound (US). Adjustment to the characteristics of honey is the reason for choosing non-thermal technology. The selection was carried out using the MCDM method, which integrates AHP-TOPSIS. The result is PEF being the selected NTT with a relative closeness of 0.773.

Abstract

Eliminating non-value-added (NVA) activities is a comprehensive solution to achieve efficiency in manufacturing industry production processes. Inefficiency arises whether the production facility and equipment are recent or timeworn. Division. Soybean Production PT. YZ seeks to evaluate the inefficiencies in the relatively new soybean production and packaging plan. The incompatibility of the layout of the production floor facilities was identified as the leading cause of the inability of the Soybean Production Division to meet consumer demands. This study aims to make the production floor layout based on material handling costs, provide good layout alternatives, minimize lead times, and increase cycle efficiency in production processes. The research method integrates Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) and the Lean Manufacturing approach. Value Stream Map (VSM) as a study result distinguishing waste, namely motion and waiting for the material transfer process, which leads to non-value added activity. The best alternative layout proposal was obtained, namely the second Alternative, with the results of minimizing material handling costs by 26% and time-wasting by 19%. VSM and Relayout design provide significant improvement in eliminating losses as well as efficiency improvement.

Abstract

CV. Okabawes Karya Logam is a metal foundry company in Ceper, Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia that uses automatic moulding machines. This company has implemented Total Productive Maintenance which is useful for increasing the overall effectiveness of the company. The use of Flask Less Horizontal Moulding Machine in production to make product moulds is one of the breakthroughs to achieve this effectiveness. However, the usage of the Flask Less Horizontal Moulding Machine cannot be maximized due to several problems. This research was conducted on the Flask Less Horizontal Molding Machine due to the large number of defects and downtime that often occur on machines which aim to measure the value of effectiveness by collecting some supporting data. This research begins by measuring the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value, then identifies the root of the problem with the Fishbone Diagram which has 5 main factors that influence it and continues to provide solutions to the five root causes of the problem. The results showed that the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value on the Flask Less Horizontal Moulding Machine was 58,53%, this value is below the standard because the Japan Institute of Plan Maintenance (JIPM) set a standard of 85%. There are also 5 main root causes of the Fishbone Diagram identification that have been given solutions.

Abstract

This study was carried out at SME for the purpose of making leather shoes in the manufacturing process. Pattern, upper printing, finishing, and 16 other workstations are among the three workstations. Production operations are performed manually in a seated position that includes squatting, bending, or standing position that is repeated, and workers operate at average to rapid speeds for 7 hours each day. This signifies that the action is hazardous and may result in Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). The Job Strain Index (JSI) and Muscle Fatigue Assessment (MFA) methodologies will be used in this study to identify working posture conditions. The MFA method is used to analyze the level of effort, duration of labor, and frequency of work motions in order to determine muscle tiredness in each section of the worker's body. The 14 activities were subjected to the JSI method investigation, and the high risk was achieved by printing the top right hand SI 20.25 and installing the right-hand sole 13.5. The MFA approach was used to accept high to extremely high-risk body parts, such as the back, neck, and right hand, and make recommendations for how to reduce muscle fatigue in each body part. The findings of this study can be used to improve the upper printing station's design, as well as the table design for designing and drawing patterns and the chair design for sewing activities.
