Abstract

Considering the low productivity of Indonesia’s ruminant management, the government proposed Artificial Insemination program as one solution to enhance ruminants productivity. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the economical aspect by using a profit analysis on artificial insemination program in District of Selebar, Bengkulu city. The research was conducted during June to August 2015. There were 4 villages (Pekan Sabtu, Betungan, Bumi Ayu and Sumur Dewa) with total of 70 interviewees. Primary and secondary data were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. The profit and total cost were calculated. The results showed that the profit was IDR 8,073,679 (gained fromcarcass sale), the average of revenue was IDR 10,671,429 and the average of cost was IDR 2,597,750.Keywords: Artificial Insemination  Program, District of Selebar, Profit,  Ruminant.

Abstract

Nata is a gel-like substances, insoluble in water and is formed on the surface of the fermentation medium coconut water or some sour juice. Making nata involving microorganisms (microbes) are known as Acetobacter xylinum. Nata is one type of food gel (agar-agar) with slightly chewy texture, dense, white and slightly transparent. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sucrose on the quality characteristics of the physical, chemical, and organoleptic nata cucumber and determining the most appropriate sucrose concentrations in processing cucumber nata. The experimental design used in this study is completely randomized design ( CRD ) with a single factor. Factors used as treatment is the addition of sucrose concentration are : 4% sucrose concentration = 40 g, 6% sucrose concentration = 60 g, 8% sucrose concentration = 80 g, 10% sucrose concentration = 100 g, and 12% sucrose concentration = 120 g. The research covers : analysis of thickness measurement, texture, fiber content, and organoleptic tests natacucumber . The best results were obtained in 10% sucrose with a thickness of 1,1 cm, 2,57 kgf/cm2 texture and fiber content 1,11%. The results of organoleptic acceptance rate panelist to panelist color parameters like sucrose over 12% with a value of 3,85, while the parameters of taste and texture panelists preferred the addition of 10% sucrose with a value of 4,1 and 3,95. The best sucrose concentration in the processing of nata cucumber is 10%.Keywords : Nata de Cucumber Suri, Suri Cucumber, Sucrose.

Abstract

Extension of plant pests and diseases and tackling has been done by the trainers during the many difficulties and obstacles because of the location and the diversity of the problems faced. The limitations of distance and knowledge of the extension in their duties greatly affect the productivity results. To assist the government in resolving the issue, the need for a computer program information system that can be accessed in the location extension. The program should be able to address various issues of plant pests and diseases as well as mitigation. Program in accordance with the specific needs of course to be built specifically Similarly, in this case the program is made by using the BASIC programming language that has a lot of ability in terms of process automation and published in several editions (versions) according to the development of information of pests and plant diseases as well as mitigation. Techniques used in the preparation of the information systems program using the concept of Waterfalls Sommerville (2001: 45). Methods of data collection related to plant pests and diseases and tackling done by search and literature. The research result obtained is an application program that is easy to administer instructor and has been tested in the presence of pests at random extension. The test results were obtained, that the program has been good and it can be applied but need continued improvement to the development of pest control and plant diseases.Keywords:  hama, penyakit, tanaman, sistem informasi

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the ability of merunggai seed powder extract with shelled and non-shelled as a natural coagulant to reducing reactive colours concentration in liquid waste model of industrial besurek. In this research, for the first time merunggai seed powder with shelled and non-shelled was extracted with powder percentage variation of 3%, 5% and 7%, while period process of extraction variation were 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 60 minutes at the temperature of extraction 60 oC. Then merunggai seed extract with shelled and non-shelled was used as coagulant to reducing  reactive  colours  concentration  in  model  liquid.  The  result  showed  that optimum  condition  for merunggai  seed  powder  extract  with  shelled  is 5% powder percentage with period process of extraction during 45 minutes for reactive colours blue, red and yellow. The decrease of reactive colour content were 491,63 mg/mL, 490,02 mg/mL and 466,60 mg/mL respectively.  Keywords: Moringa oleifera Lamk, coagulation, extraction, reactive colours

Abstract

The increasing rate of population growth and economic development occurring in the Curup Tengah District, Kab. Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu has led to the increasing waste generated. This can lead to declining environmental quality in the region, especially the situation is aggravated by inadequate handling and waste management systems are implemented by the Regional Government. Therefore, the required real effort in resolving the existing problems of waste such as by increasing community participation in waste management.  This study aims to determine how community participation in waste management in the Curup Tengah District. This participation may take the form pasrtisipasi community in local government policy decisions about waste management. Pasrtisipasi other forms of society can be seen by taking out the trash in the space provided, do not throw garbage in open dumps, as well as by not burning waste not in accordance with the technical requirements for waste management.  Results of analysis showed that public participation in policy-local government on waste management in the Curup Tengah District, Kab. Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu was well with the average value of respondents' answers to the questionnaire was 3.83, Participation of the community by removing trash in places that have been prescribed or provided in the Curup Tengah District, Kab. Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu was well with the average value of respondents' answers to the questionnaire was 3.91, with community participation does not throw garbage in the open field in the Curup Tengah District, Kab. Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu was well with the average value of respondents' answers to the questionnaire is 3.77, and the participation of the community by not burning waste not in accordance with technical requirements for waste management in the Curup Tengah District, Kab. Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu was well with the average value of respondents' answers to the questionnaire was 3.69. This shows that the general public's Participation in the Waste Management at Curup Tengah District, Kab. Abstract

Pineapple preferred mainly related to flavor, taste and very interesting appearance. Jelly drink is a drink with high viscosity,with the addition of sugars, acids and water. This study aimed to determine the effect of carrageenan concentration on physical, chemical and organoleptic pineapple jelly drinks (Ananas comosus L. Merr). The research methods include crushing, screening, mixing, heating, removaling, and packaging. Treatment of each sample are the addition of carrageenan concentration at 0.15 %, 0.25 %, 0.35 %, 0.45 %, 0.55 %. The analysis in this study include vitamin C, viscosity and organoleptic (taste, color, and texture). The result of analysis vitamin C pineapple jelly drinks ranged from 1.13 mg/ g to 1.92 mg/ g. Analysis on the viscosity of the pineapple jelly drinks ranged between15.30 x 10-3 to 18.05 x 10-3. The average value of the color range between 3.1 (a bit like) to 3.65 (a bit like),average of flavor ranges between 3.2 (a bit like) to 3.6 (a bit like), and the average of texture ranged between 3.25 (a bit like) to 3.85 (somewhat like). Abstract

Social community need to food in general and horticulture in particular from year to year continues to increase along with the growth of population too.  This will result an increased need for nutrition and consumption patterns including avocado fruit contains many nutrients needed by human. In this study, 36 ( Thirty six ) Pleces of avocado which each take the data GSp is left at room temperature and then contolled every day to find pleces that correspond to each code.  After a long day and that all avocado fruit over ripe the find corelation value ( r ) between GSP value ( Variable Xi ) with ripening time     ( Variable Yi ). From this study obtainable correlation value between GSp value avocado fruit    (Variable Xi) with ripening time ( Variable Yi ), r = 0,71.   From this value r get t aritmetic = 5,336. In the real level a = 0,05 and dk = 30-2 = 3428 get ttable = 2, 048 it turs out t aritmetic  > t table 5,336,1 > 2,048 so that Ha accepted and Ho benied or correlation between specific gravity value with increase avocado fruit maturity significant.  Key words : Avocado Fruit, Specific Gravity, correlation, Maturity Level.

Abstract

As a byproduct of the dragon fruit (Hylocereus undatus) consumption, dragon fruit peel still contains nutritional components that potential to be a material of food processing. In nata processing, sugar was used as a carbon source for Acetobacter xylinum bacterial growth. The purpose of this study was to characterize the physical, chemical and organoleptic nata of dragon fruit peel. The experiment was done with two steps : processing of nata of dragon fruit peel with sucrose treatment (2 %, 4 %, 6 %, 8 % and 10 %), then the physical analysis (thick pellicle, pellicle weight and texture), the analysis of chemical properties (fiber content) and analysis of organoleptic to determine the level of hedonic scale for appearance, taste and texture, using 20 trained panelists. The analysis showed that the pellicle weight ranges from 478 g -  752 g, thick pellicle ranges from 0.61 cm - 1.13 cm, the fiber content ranges from 3.63 % - 4.44 % and textures ranges from 3.62 mm/g.second - 3.93 mm/g.second with panelists preference level generally not significantly different for all parameters (except the 4 % sucrose treatment) with the grading scale rather like until like.  Keywords : Nata, sucrose, dragon fruit peel

Abstract

This research purpose to know number of labor demand in demand of labor derived outside of household in paddy farming and  find out the characteristics and factors which are influencing labour demand in paddy farming in Lebong District. The research was uses simple random sampling technique. The number of sampel are 30 farmer. The result of the research showed (1) that farmer 22,18 Day work Equvalent Mean/ farm for the labor of inside household, 1s 99,34 DWEM/farm for labor of outside household, and (2).The significant variabel in faktor of derived outside household that farm is field, wage, untilizing tractor in paddy farming.while price of fertilizer, price of pestised,price of product, is not significant to demand of labour derived in paddy farming.  Key word: demand of labour derived outside of household, paddy farming

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the system of processing, large production and productivity, substancial net income, and economic analysis review of satoimo taro farm commodities in Sukasari village Kabawetan subdistrict Kepahiang District Bengkulu Province. The research method involves taking sample by using census method, data collection taken from secondary and primary data, data analysis using the formula            π = TR-TC (net income), R / C Ratio to measure the feasibility of farming economically. The system of processing satoimo taro farming carried out in the area of research in the form of land preparation, planting, fertilizing, and landfill that still relatively modest yet as recommended by the literature (according to Hodijah, 2009). The average production sataimo taro farm amounted to 3,265 kg satoimo and productivity of 14.446 kg/ha is still low compared to the literature (SEAMEO BIOTROP Research Bogor West Java). Total net income satoimo taro farm during one growing season is Rp127.319.464, -. Analysis of R/C ratio is 2.07 satoimo taro farm therefore the farming is economically feasible to be developed (R / C ≥ 1).  Keywords: Satoimo Taro, Land management, Production and Productivity, Net Income, analysis of R / C ratio
