Abstract

Entrepreneurship training that has been provided continues to cause problems in developing human resources for Indonesian migrant workers. The unique character of Indonesian migrant workers who were initially employees who turned into business owners is interesting to research in relation to human resource development. Thus, this study aims to analyze the linkage between human resource development through the variables entrepreneurship training, innovative work behavior, and learning goal orientation. This study used questionnaire-based surveys with certain criteria and involved structural equation modeling (SEM) methods based on partial least squares (PLS). The data were collected from 354 Indonesian migrant workers who were involved in small-medium enterprises. The findings indicate that there is a positive relationship between entrepreneurship training and innovative work behavior. This study also shows that learning goal orientation moderates the influence of entrepreneurship training on innovative work behavior. Keywords: Entrepreneurship training, Innovative work behavior, Learning goal orientation, Human resources development

Abstract

Microeconomics learning aims to help students understand how economic concepts and theories can be used to analyze and solve economic problems in everyday life. The study aims to develop Eco-mobile learning applications as learning media intended to improve critical thinking skills in terms of the cognitive style of economic education students. This research followed the Lee and Owen’s development model with the stages of need assessment and analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 105 economic education students taking microeconomics courses. The results of the media expert's assessment of the Eco-mobile learning application media as a whole were 94%, material experts gave an assessment of 97.3%, and student and lecturer responses to the practicality of the Eco-mobile learning application were 86.4% and 95.2%. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the media can be obtained from the results of the critical thinking post-test scores in the experimental and control classes. Based on the overall results, it can be concluded that the Eco-mobile learning application developed in this research is suitable for use and effective in improving critical thinking skills in terms of the cognitive style of economics education students. Keywords: Eco-mobile learning, Critical thinking skill, Cognitive style

Abstract

Teacher performance greatly determines school performance in providing educational services to stakeholders. Improving teacher performance must be seen as a shared interest between educational institutions and the government. This research examines the influence of family welfare on work motivation and its impact on teacher performance. The research was conducted using a survey method among teachers at private high schools in Jambi of Indonesia. Respondents were selected randomly after sampling the entire population using area sampling techniques, namely 120 out of 239 teachers. Data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM model. The results of the analysis show that the family welfare of private high school teachers in Jambi has an indirect influence through work motivation on teacher performance. Work motivation has a prominent role in improving teacher performance. The higher the level of family welfare, the greater the teacher's work motivation and the higher the teacher's work motivation, the greater the performance. The results of this research also provide practical implications for educational management institutions or foundations in improving teacher performance through increasing family welfare and work motivation. Keywords: Family welfare, Work motivation, Teacher performance

Abstract

Most university students, who are in the process of transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, face difficulties managing their finances independently. To overcome these obstacles, students must have a positive financial attitude. This research aims to investigate both the direct and indirect impacts of parental financial teaching on students’ financial attitudes. In particular, the study examines the mediating effect of self-control on the relationship between financial education by parents and financial behaviors among accounting students. A survey was employed online to 219 accounting students in four different universities in October – December 2023. The data was then analyzed by applying SMART-PLS 4. The results of the analysis indicate that parental financial education tends to improve students’ behaviors in managing their finances. Furthermore, students who receive parental financial teaching are more likely to have positive self-control, which then positively affects their financial behaviors. This study enhances the existing finance literature and practice by demonstrating that improved parent-child communication can lead to the development of strong self-control in students when it comes to managing their finances. Keywords: Parental financial teaching, Financial attitude, Self-control, University students
