Learning a foreign language, the learners need to comprehend the language well. It is needed to undestand and apply in daily life. It also expresses a concept or an idea to communicate with other learners. Besides, the learners still find difficulty in expressing the concept or an idea while learning English as a foriegn language. Otherwise, the learners also still find difficulty in responding and applying the language well. It is meant that they lack to recognized what the studentsâ learning. Overcoming this problem is very important. Furthermore, the paper aims to explain the use of contextual teaching in EFL classroom. It is used in the English skills especially used in speaking. Speaking skill is important skill used in English daily life. Moreover, contextual teaching is appropriate strategy in teaching speaking skill. The strategies are used by the teacher to solve the students problem. The learners will be able to understand and apply the skill in daily life. The paper presents the contextual teaching used in the speaking skill. It can help the learners in applying the foreign language. Keywords: speaking, contextual teaching

One out of the most critical educational issues in Indonesia is the questionable quality of education at every level and unit. Managerial problems of education have already been existing since Orde Baru, when Integrated Development School (IDS) was firstly inacted being followed by Schoool-Based Management (SBM). Both are the same except the operating system; IDS tends to be centralized while SBM tends to be decentralized. Both work for the development of educational quality, but IDS, is regarded less accomodative with its old-fashioned paradigm, in line with inaction of Regulation No 22, year 1999. The regulation brings about conse-quences of regional authorities to manage regional development, including educational sector. SBM has been proposed to offer school autonomy in establishing school policies in accomodating the development in quality, effeciency and distribution by the optimal colaboration of schools, society and goverment. This reserach is served to identify the significance of SBM against the quality improvement of education at SMK PGRI Wonoasri.The research is conducted at SMK PGRI Wonoasri, under the total sampling technique, coping with all of 63 teachers. The data for analysis are promary data which are taken by direct observation with questionaires, and interviewing techniques. The analysis is carried out by simple linear regression technique and product moment correlation technique of Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) for windows, version 17.0.The results of computation shows that product t is 8.249, which is significant in comparison with the table t of 2.000 under the significance level pf 5%. The regression computation result in score of 0.726 at the significance of 0.000. based on the computations, the implementation of SBM influence significantly on the educational quality development at SMK PGRI Wonoasri.Key words: Educational quality, School-Based Management (SBM).

The objectives of this research is to identify the significance game and motivation on the mastery of mathematical concepts. The monopoly and snake-ladder games are chosen for the game variable, while motivation variable proposes high and low motivational strenghts. The method of this research is experiment, and the research design is treatment by level 2x2. The hypotheses of the research are tested by two-way variant analysis (ANAVA). The results of the research show that: (1) the mastery on mathematical concepts of students with monopoly game is higher than those with snake-ladder game, (2) there is significant influence of game and motivation towards the mastery of mathematical concepts, (3) in the group of students who belong to the high motivational strength, monopoly game helps them perceive the higher mastery of matematical concepts than snake-ladder game,   (4) in the group of students who belong to the low motivational strength, snake-ladder game helps them perceive the higher mastery of matemayical concepts than monopoly game.Keywords: games, motivation, mastery on mathematical concepts

The objective of this paper is to describe the teacher as prefession and development of teacher profession as honourable and respectable profession. Teacher profession is considered as profession if it fulfills some criteria: providing self-working based service, having strong comitment, qualification which based on knowledge and specific skill ownership got from long and tight training, providing service which is given seriously, getting payment from client, and being controlled by peer when acquiring the profession. Teacher profession development is done by increasing the teacherâs quality, improving the teacher training system, recruiting, certitificating, and improving teacher management system.Keywords: development, teacher profession, profession, teacher, honourable, respectable

This research is served to develop teaching instruments which refer to 4-D Model, including: interactive multimedia, Lesson Plan, Syllabus, Student Worksheet and Evaluation, for the subject of Genetics through two-cycle action research. This research aso attempts to develop the effectiveness of teaching by the application of teaching media which visualize the abstract concepts of the Genetics class consisting of 42 students of semester IV class D of Biology Study Program, the Faculty of Natural Science and Mathematics, IKIP PGRI MADIUN. Teaching process is implemented by One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, and the data are analyzed descriptively. The analysis results in conclusions that: the teaching-learning scenario is carried out well, learning acitivities are well-developed by the use of multimedia instruments. The observation finds that one student has higher level of learning activities than the average of others by using multimedia instruments by 34.57% at the Lesson Plan 1, 28.14% at the Lesson Plan 2, and 45.57% at the Lesson Plan 3. Interactive multimedia model of teaching is able to put students above the classical threshold level by 97.2% leaving one student under the treshold level. Good response against the ineractive multimedia model of teaching is given by 43 students or 81.02%, good response against the teaching materials is 100%. Some aspects which have to be considered are: lecturer has to be well-prepared; students have to be well-assisted in using interactive multimedia apparatus; assurance that students with their own computer apparatus have the required programs and applications; strict coordination among lecturers in utilizing the infrastructures.Keywords: Flash Pro-based Interactive Media, Genetics, 4-D

Ecosystem has been one target of the UNOs millenium development goals. The decision is sited because the safety of the ecosystem is regarded to be critical around the development of science and technology of 20th century which result in not only well-being but also disaster for human mankind, pertaining to complicated problems. The role of technology has shifted along the way with the development of human history, from the support system to power which determines the cosietal behaviour and interaction.Technology is always coined with science, since technlogy is the embodiment of the science. Hence, technology will only develop in the assistance of the cultural behaviour which contributes strategic advantage for human being. The development of technology inavitably requires the deep structure of ethics, moral and commitment to establish the basis of a nations culture. The most responsible institution to nurture such values is educational institution.One of the objectives of teaching historical geography is to nurture students awareness against the significance of ecosystem, thorugh the historical cultural and geographical approaches, around and within human life and living.Key words: Ecosystem, Historical Geography
