Abstract

Learning a foreign language, the learners  need  to comprehend the language well. It is needed to undestand and apply in daily life. It also expresses a concept or an idea to communicate with other learners. Besides, the learners still find difficulty in expressing the concept or an idea while learning English as a foriegn language. Otherwise, the learners also still find difficulty in responding and applying the language well. It is meant that they lack to recognized what the students’ learning. Overcoming this problem is very important. Furthermore, the paper aims to explain the use of contextual teaching in EFL classroom. It is used in the English skills especially used in speaking. Speaking skill is important skill used in English daily life. Moreover, contextual teaching is appropriate strategy in teaching speaking skill. The strategies are used by the teacher to solve the students problem. The learners will be able to understand and apply the skill in daily life. The paper presents the contextual teaching used in the speaking skill. It can help the learners in applying the foreign language. Keywords: speaking, contextual teaching

Abstract

This research serves a thorough outlook on the effectiveness of models of learning morality in Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan subject by constructivist approach for the students of SMP-s around Madiun Municipality. The research makes use of quasi experiment approach by factorial design 2 x 2. The effectiveness of teaching-learning process is evaluated under qualitative method. The subjects of the research include 625 students which belong to grade 1 and 2 of SMP in Madiun Municipality. The analysis results in conclusion that constructivist approach raise the grade 1 students’ achievement by F(1.318)=4.463, p = 0.035. the consistent result is also achieved by the grade 2 students’ achievement by F(1.298) = 118.309, p = 0.000. The qualitatative evaluation on the model also shows significance. Keywords  :  constructivist approach, moral education

Abstract

The aims of this research are: 1) to identity the significance of PowerPoint presentation utilization on the mathematics achievement of the students of elementary school, 2) to depict the significance of the students’ learning styles on mathematics achievement of the students of elementary school, and 3) to identity the presence of interaction between the students’ learning styles and the utilization of PowerPoint presentation on the mathematics achievement of the students of elementary school. Pilot instructional design is the PowerPoint – utilizing one, while the control design is the conventional one. Learning styles includes: visual, auditorial and kinesthetic learning styles. The population of this research is students of elementary schools in Madiun Municipality. The results of the research are: 1) the PowerPoint utilization in math class can significantly increase the students’ achievement, 2) the students’ learning styles significantly influence the students’ achievement.            The visual learning styles are stronger than auditorial and kinesthetic which similar, and 3) there is interaction between conventional and attested students’ learning styles. Under conventional learning strategy, students’ learning styles do not influence the student achievement. Under the pilot learning strategy by utilizing PowerPoint presentation, the students’ learning styles influence the students’ achievement. Kinesthetic and auidtorial learning styles similarly influence the students’ achievement, but visual learning style results in a better students’ achievement. The utilization of the PowerPoint presentation program does not significantly influence the achievement of the students with visual and kinesthetic learning styles, but it significantly influences the achievement of the students with auditorial learning style.Key words       :   The Mathematics Achievement of The Students of Elementary School, Powerpoint Class Presentation, and The Basis of The Students’ Learning Styles

Abstract

The grand  mision  of vocational  school  policy  is to produce graduates  who have national, regional  and international  competitive advantage.  To guarantee  the students of vocational  school sufficient learning  process,  the vocational  school  teacher  traning  institution  is obliged   to   provide   the   qualified    lecturers,    infrastrustures    and teaching  aids and materials.  Among  those requirements,   students  of vocational  school teacher  training  institution  should also be trained in such a way that they  are skillful  in handling  students  to face the working   environment.   This  research   is  attempted   to  meet  such demand   by  developing   teaching   process   under  Somatic  Auditiry Visual  and  Intelectual   Approach    (SAVI)   to  train   the   students sensitive against the environment.Key words: Somatic Auditiry Visual and lntelectual Approach (SAVI), Competence,  Achievement

Abstract

One out of some objectives  of carrying  out the scholarship  of the History Study  Program  of IKIP   PGRI Madiun  is to enhance:  (1) teachers  who have sufficient  competence   in their teaching  skill, (2) teachers  who are sensitive  towards  the progress  of the history and all social process within the society, 3) teachers  who are flexible  against the development   of history  of Indonesia    by  having  the historical awareness  as front-liners  of educational   conducts.  The competence copes  with competence   and qualification   at the cognitive,  affective and psychomotor  domains.  Such a competence   leads the learners  to life-skill    that   students  should   cope   with.  Among   some   ways developing  the lecturers competence  at the three domains  mentioned above  in generating   the, students   life-skill,   it  is  suggestible   that lecturers develop  teaching  method. Three-dimension   teaching  media is one  method  that  is presumptively   able  to develop  the lecturers competence  in generating  the students  life-skill. This research serves an analysis on the significance  of the use of three-dimension  teaching media  on  the  students’ life skill.  This  research,   then,  proposes objectives  as to identify the significance  of three-dimension   teaching media towards  the students  life-skill.The research  method  applied  in this research  is Research  and Development  coping with three stages, i.e.: (1) exploration  under qualitative  descriptive  method, (2) development  under single one shot case study, (3) experimentation   method. The subjects of the study are all of the students of the History Study Program of IKIP PGRI Madiun.The research lasts in drawing conclusion  that the development of three-dimension   teaching  media can analytically  improve life skill of the students of History Study Program of IKIP PGRI Madiun. Then the hypothetic model as shown in figure 1 is attested already as it is shown in figure 2 and 3 under attested consistence and validity in generating the life-skill of the students of History Program of IKIP PGRI Madiun.Key terms: three-dimension teaching media, life-skill

Abstract

Learning Bology is focussed on the students’ involvement and activeness to make them easier to understand the instructional materials on the concepts of biology. To develop the existing teaching methodology at SMP Negeri I Karanganyar, Recoprocal Teaching is implemented as one of cooperative teaching strategy which enables the mutual activities of teachers and students under four understanding strategy, i.e. summerizing, questioning, clarifying and predicting. This research is intended to to identify the strategic significance of Reciprocal Teaching on the biology achievement of the seven graders of SMP Negeri 1 Karanganyar. The sample of this reserach are students of class VIIA and VIIB who are determined by random sampling technique. The t-test analysis technique results in computation that working t is 1.902 and table t is 1.675 under the level of sihnificance of 5%. The result shows that reciprocal Teaching has a significant influence on the achievement in biology of the students of VII graders of SMP Negeri 1 Karanganyar. Abstract

The research aims to create a learning media Koteka Science ( Science Cartoons Comics Paste ) on the material terms of the ecosystem and the achievement of student learning MTs Al Mujaddadiyyah Madiun. The study was conducted in May-June 2013. Study uses quantitative data analysis techniques, namely the feasibility of data media Koteka Science from the validator, the data teacher activity , student activity data, the data student achievement data and teacher student questionnaire responses to the penis gourds. Science. Products validated by 3 validator and obtain tested 20 types of data, which is included in the criteria for 2 very worthy, worthy 6,7 pretty decent, 1 less feasible, and 4 are not feasible. The data indicate that overall for Science Koteka media worthy and well as learning media. Based on the pretest results of 22 students in the criteria either 10, 10 is good enough, and not good 2, whereas the posttest results of 22 students who fall into the criteria of an excellent 7, both 14, and a pretty good one. Data indicate that the Science koteka using instructional media can improve student achievement scores. Based on students responses to the questionnaire Science Koteka media of 22 students, who fall into the category of very good 7 students , both 9 students , and quite 6 students. It shows that students response to the media either Koteka Science. In response to the teacher questionnaire data showed that 80 % feasibility study. Student activities gained 67.9 % before treatment and after treatment gained 80 %. The observation of teacher activity obtained before treatment and after treatment 85.4 % 90.4 %. It shows that learning by using media Koteka Science and decent so as to improve the performance and activity of students learning.Keywords : Koteka Science, Ecosystems, Student Achievement and learning activeness.

Abstract

This research serves a thorough out-look on the effectiveness of teaching tools for Natural Science subject which are developed based on inquiry model to nurture process skill of Ekementary School students. The teaching tools developed through this research are lesson plan, BAS, students worksheet and achievement test. The research is carried out through two steps, i.e. the teaching tools development and the implementation. The research objacts are teaching tools and the subjects are the students of SDN Bareng Krajan 1 Krian. The developed teaching tools refer to Dick and Carey Model. The implementation makes use of one group pretest-posttest design. The results of analysis show that: all of the teaching tools are valid under validation test; the taching tools support learning effectiveness in nurturing process skill of Natural Science Class od Elementary School, inspite of difficulties in implementing them in research.Kata Kunci: Pengembangan Perangkat, Model Pembelajaran Inkuiri.

Abstract

This research is attempted to identify the types of pteri-dophyta in the ecosystem of tropical forest of Wana Grape, Wungu Subdistrict as one of Madiun’s tourism sites, so as to serve as the learning resources of biology subject. In this research, pteridophyta is classified base don its morphological structure – root, stem, leaves, branching system, fur, skin and ites reproduction                               system.The data are drawn from February 2004 up to July 2004 under observation and documentation methods. The data are taken from Wana Grape, Wungu Subdistrict, Madiun Regency by collecting pteridophyta at the observation area. The samplea are then classsified in form of matric or table. The analysis results in identification of pteridophyta which tetantively belongs to 26 types under 18 families, 6 ethnics, 2 classes and 1 division. Most of pteridophytas found belong to polypodiaceae, some belong to Selaginellaceae, Lycopodiaceae, Gleicheniaceae, Cytheaceae and Hymenophyleaceae is very rarely found. Cyclorsorus can be found in alost all of places in the forest with and without the exposure to the sun.The pteridophyta which belongs to Alsophyla glauca J. Sm and Gleichenia lenearis Clarke can only be found in the area which is difficult to reach, like canons and cliffs. These two types of pteridophyta are often used by the people to cook, so that they are risky to extinct. Keywords : wana wisata Grape forest, learning resource, pterido-phyta

Abstract

One out of the most critical educational issues in Indonesia is the questionable quality of education at every level and unit. Managerial problems of education have already been existing since Orde Baru, when Integrated Development School (IDS) was firstly inacted being followed by Schoool-Based Management (SBM). Both are the same except the operating system; IDS tends to be centralized while SBM tends to be  decentralized. Both work for the development of educational quality, but IDS, is regarded less accomodative with its old-fashioned paradigm, in line with inaction of Regulation No 22, year 1999. The regulation brings about conse-quences of regional authorities to manage regional development, including educational sector. SBM has been proposed to offer school autonomy in establishing school policies in accomodating the development in quality, effeciency and distribution by the optimal colaboration of schools, society and goverment. This reserach is served to identify the significance of SBM against the quality improvement of education at SMK PGRI Wonoasri.The research is conducted at SMK PGRI Wonoasri, under the total sampling technique, coping with all of 63 teachers. The data for analysis are promary data which are taken by direct observation with questionaires, and interviewing techniques. The analysis is carried out by simple linear regression technique and product moment correlation technique of Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) for windows, version 17.0.The results of computation shows that product t is 8.249, which is significant in comparison with the table t of 2.000 under the significance level pf 5%. The regression computation result in score of 0.726 at the significance of 0.000. based on the computations, the implementation of SBM influence significantly on the educational quality development at SMK PGRI Wonoasri.Key words: Educational quality, School-Based Management (SBM).
