Abstract

This research is served to develop teaching instruments which refer to 4-D Model, including: interactive multimedia, Lesson Plan, Syllabus, Student Worksheet and Evaluation, for the subject of Genetics through two-cycle action research. This research aso attempts to develop the effectiveness of teaching by the application of teaching media which visualize the abstract concepts of the Genetics class consisting of 42 students of semester IV class D of Biology Study Program, the Faculty of Natural Science and Mathematics, IKIP PGRI MADIUN. Teaching process is implemented by One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, and the data are analyzed descriptively. The analysis results in conclusions that: the teaching-learning  scenario is carried out well, learning acitivities are well-developed by the use of multimedia instruments. The observation finds that one student has higher level of learning activities than the average of others by using multimedia instruments by 34.57% at the Lesson Plan 1, 28.14% at the Lesson Plan 2, and 45.57% at the Lesson Plan 3. Interactive multimedia model of teaching is able to put students above the classical threshold level by 97.2% leaving one student under the treshold level. Good response against the ineractive multimedia model of teaching is given by 43 students or 81.02%, good response against the teaching materials is 100%. Some aspects which have to be considered are: lecturer has to be well-prepared; students have to be well-assisted in using interactive multimedia apparatus; assurance that students with their own computer apparatus have the required programs and applications; strict coordination among lecturers in utilizing the infrastructures.Keywords: Flash Pro-based Interactive Media, Genetics, 4-D

Abstract

Persediaan energi yang berasal dari fosil dunia termasuk Indonesia semakin berkurang, maka perlu dikembangkan produk kreatif energi baru dan terbarukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kreatifitas dalam pengembangan produk kreatif energi baru dan terbarukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metoda deskriptif tanpa perlakuan terhadap responden. Total responden yang terlibat sebayak 30 peserta didik program studi pendidikan fisika pada salah satu LPTK di Madiun, Indonesia. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas kuesioner, wawancara, dan desain produk kreatif. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan analisis regresi dan korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara produk kreatif yang dihasilkan dengan dimensi person, process, dan press, dengan nilai korelasi dari urutan tertinggi person (r = 0.787), press (r = 0.613), dan process (r = 0.543). Indikator dari dimensi person yang mempunyai pengaruh paling besar adalah rasa ingin tahu, keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman, dan rasa percaya diri yang tinggi. Indikator dari dimesi process yang perlu ditingkatkan adalah originalitas dan elaborasi. Kata Kunci: Kreativitas, Person, Press, Process, Product

Abstract

Kabupaten pacitan memiliki komoditas flora laut yang potensial. Salah satunya adalah E. acoroides. Pemanfaatan E. acoroides sebagai sumber bahan kimia dan obat-obatan membutuhkan pengolahan yang tepat sehingga mampu tahan dalam waktu yang lama. Salah satu proses yang biasa diberikan adalah proses pemanasan untuk memperlambat proses kimia dan biologi pada bahan, sehingga bahan menjadi tahan lama. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen.Tahapan penelitian meliputi pengambilan dan preparasi E. acoroides, pembuatan serbuk seresah E. acoroides, analisa kualitas serbuk seresah E. acoroides yang meliputi analisa kadar air, kadar abu, kadar lemak, dan kadar pati.  Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah proses pengeringan dilakukan dengan 2 cara yaitu menggunakan oven dan sinar matahari. Proses pengeringan menggunakan oven yang berlangsung pada suhu yang tinggi menyebabkan terjadinya case hardening, yaitu bagian permukaan bahan pangan sudah kering sekali bahkan mengeras sedangkan bagian dalamnya masih basah. Kualitas kelayakan hasil produksi serbuk seresah lamun dengan metode pengeringan sinar matahari kadar air 14,76%, kadar abu 18,83%, kadar pati 9,88% dan kadar lemak 0,54%.  Pengeringan menggunakan oven kadar airnya 23,66%, kadar abu 19,39%, kadar pati 8,73% dan kadar lemak 0,74%.

Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan jaman yang semakin pesat, peran pendidikan menjadi sangat penting dalam mempersiapkan peserta didik agar memiliki keterampilan abad 21. Salah satu upaya untuk menjawab tantangan ini dengan merubah peran guru dari dari penyedia dan peyampai informasi menjadi fasilitator untuk berbagi informasi dan pengetahuan serta melatihkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah kepada peserta didik. Pembelajaran konstruktivisme menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam melatihkan keterampilan abad 21. Model pembelajaran project based learning dan problem based learning menjadi model yang paling poluler pada pendekatan konstruktivisme. Namun, masih banyak para pendidik yang mengalami kebingungan dalam membedakan dan mengoperasikan  kedua model pembelajaran ini. Oleh karena itu, artikel ini mengulas persamaan dan perbedaan antara project based learning dan problem based learning, serta menjawab apakah kedua model pembelajaran tersebut mampu melatihkan keterampilan abad 21.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve students? physics creative thinking skills and conceptual understanding of grade 7 of Islamic Junior High School (MTs) Sunan Ampel Nganjuk. This research implemented Classroom Action Research (CAR) with one cycle of two meetings. Each cycle included the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 17 students of grade 7 of MTs Sunan Ampel Nganjuk First Semester Academic Year 2016/2017. The instruments of data collection in this study were in the form of essay tests (pre-test and post-test) to measure students' creative thinking skills. The results showed the average value of the creative thinking skills of the first cycle and the second cycle which were expressed by the average of N-Gain experienced an increase with the acquisition in the first cycle of 0.6 which was categorized as moderate and increased in the second cycle of 0.7 which was categorized as moderate. In cycle I the highest indicator of creative thinking was fluency, which is equal to 0.76 and the lowest indicator of creative thinking was originality with an N-gain value of 0.34, as well as in the cycle II The highest indicator of creative thinking was the fluency thinking skills which is equal to 0.81 and the lowest creative thinking indicator was the originality with an N-gain value of 0.48. The average value of physics conceptual understanding in the first and second cycles expressed by the average of N-Gain has increased with the acquisition in the first cycle of 0.47 which is categorized as moderate and increased in the second cycle of 0.60 which is categorized as medium. The results showed that the application of STEM-based inquiry can improve the grade 7 students? creative thinking skills and conceptual understanding of MTs Sunan Ampel Nganjuk.Keywords: guided inquiry, STEM, creative thinking skills, conceptual understanding

Abstract

Student Worksheet (LKS) is a learning media for experimental activities which as a source of student learning which can provide experiences for students, develop skills, and influence their attitudes. The purpose of this study is to produce a Worksheet Discovery-Character Experiment to hone the scientific attitudes and character of students that are suitable to be used in learning. This research is a 4D development study but only reached the development stage. Data collected in the form of LKS feasibility data from experts (lecturers and teachers). Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that the Discovery-Character Experiment worksheet (discovery learning integrated character education) is very feasible to use with an average percentage of 93%. This worksheet is equipped with 3 Temperature and Heat experiment worksheets, concept maps, discussion material, practice questions, and self-evaluation related to students' scientific attitudes and characters. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the worksheet was arranged using discovery learning that is integrated in character education at the temperature and heat material of class X vocational high school. Each learning activity which integrated discovery learning can build students’ character and scientific attitude.

ABSTRACTFossil energy availability in the world, including Indonesia, is increasingly declining; hence, a creative product of new and renewable energy needs to be developed. The research aimed to explore creativity in developing a creative product of new and renewable energy using descriptive method without any treatment to respondents. There were a total of 30 students of Physics Education Program in one of Teachers Training Institutions in Madiun, Indonesia, as the respondents. The instruments used in this research consisted of questionnaires, interviews, and creative product designs. The obtained data were analysed using regression and correlation. Results showed that there was a correlation between the creative products and the dimensions of person, process, and press, with the value of correlation from the highest to the lowest: person (r = 0.787), press (r = 0.613), and process (r = 0.543), respectively. The indicators for creative person that were observed to have greater influence were curiosity, openness to experiences, and high confidence. The indicators for creative process that needed to be improved were originality and elaboration.

Abstract

The Habits of Mind of SMK students must be classified as high, therefore researchers conducted research on investigating the thinking habits of SMK students by using the help of learning models based on problem solving in their own way (Discovery Learning). The method used is descriptive qualitative with a sample size of 33 students of class X in SMK Madiun. Data collection uses initial and final tests. The results of the study said that students' thinking habits improved after being given questions in the form of test training, and assisted with discovery learning models. Judging from the average number of pretest and posttest worth 80.8 and 115 the n-gain value is 0.6 with the medium category, the value is obtained from each indicator of habits of mind thinking about thinking 1 with high category, thinking flexibly 0.9 with high category, applying past knowledge to new situation 0.7 with high category, questioning and posing problem 0.6 with medium category, creating, imagining, innovating 0.2. Based on the N-gain value of each indicator, it can be concluded that the discovery learning model can improve students' habits of mind.

Abstract

Student worksheets (LKPD) is the most significant aspect on the learning activities because it consists of the student’s learning process of gaining  knowledge, primarily growing the critical thinking ability. The aim of the study is giving information about the development of critical thinking with LKPD process in physics subject. The method is Research and Development (RnD)-ADDIE which is limited on the development stage. Based on the evaluation result through validity which involve expert validity from the lecturer and the teacher, Content Validity Index (CVI) is 0,95 that means very suitable. The CVI result indicates that the LKPD process could be used to grow the physics critical thinking. The LKPD process has not arrived at implementation yet, hopefully the reseacher on the same field could apply till the implementation stage so that we could say LKPD process could grow the physics critical thinking.
