Abstract

The aimed of the research was to analyze the effect the organic fertilizer to increase growth and production of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). The Research was conducted on April - July 2017 at Taburmas Garden, Mpu Tantular street, No. 10-12 Bandungan, Semarang. The research design was Completely Randomized Design with 7 treatmentsand 3 replications so that there were 21 units of experiment. The research used organic fertilizer 100 kg N/ha. The treatment were; T0: no organic fertilizer, T1: cow manure (1.15 kg/plot), T2: goat manure (1.16 kg/plot), T3: litter compost (1.5 kg/plot), T4: fertilizer guano (0.226 kg/plot), T5: chicken manure (1,176 kg/plot), T6: rabbit manure (0.763 kg/plot). Data were subjected to Analysis of variance(ANOVA) and continued byDuncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at α=5%. The results of this study showed that the use of organic fertilizer increased the growth and production of lettuce. Guano ferlitizer and chicken manure fertilizersresulted the highest growth and production in lettuce plants. Keywords : lettuce, organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Beauveria bassiana is one of the pathogens that can be used as an environmentally friendly bio pesticide, as it does not produce harmful residues and does not cause pest resistance. This research was conducted in the village of Campursari village, District of Bulu, Temanggung Regency. The purpose of this research was assess the effectiveness of Beauveria bassiana application in order to suppress the population of brown planthopper and adult rice bug in rice plants and to find out rice plants production. The research used factorial randomized design which consists of two treatments. The first treatment was the application of Beauveria bassiana with controlled doses by 0, 100, 150 and 200 g/14 l. The second treatment was the application interval between 7, 10, and 14 days. The parameters observed were brown planthopper populations, adult rice bug population, plant height, number of tillers and grain production. The results showed that application with doses of 200 g/14 l and 7 day interval application was effective to suppress population of brown planthopper and adult rice bug and also saved grain production by 1,20 kg to 7,02 kg/m2 depending on application dosage. Keywords : planthopper, adult rice bug, Beauveria, doses, application interval

Abstract

  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji respon pertumbuhan tanaman kedelai, produksi dan kualitas kedelai pada tanah yang tercemar logam nikel yang diberi biokompos.Penelitian dilakukan di Rumah Kasa dan Laboratorium Terpadu BALINGTAN (Balai Penelitian Lingkungan Pertanian) Pati, Jawa Tengah dari bulan November 2018 – Februari 2019. Rancangan dasar yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 5 x 3 dengan 3 ulangan.Faktor pertama yaitu perlakuan konsentrasi cemarannikel (Ni) 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 ppm dan faktor kedua yaitu perlakuan dosis biokompos 0 ton/ha, 3,5 ton/ha dan 7ton/ha. Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji berganda Duncan (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa pada tanah yang diberi biokompos kurang dari 7 ton/ha dan semua tingkat cemaran menunjukkan penurunan pertumbuhandan produksi kedelai. Tanah yang diberi biokompos 7 ton/ha pada perlakuan konsentrasi cemaran nikel 25 ppm menghasilkan produksi kedelai (jumlah polong isi) setara atau sama dengan tanah tanpa cemaran nikel. Konsentrasi nikel dalam biji kedelai pada tanah yang tercemar nikel 25 ppm dengan diberi biokompos 7 ton/ha masih berada diatas ambang batas yang diijinkan. Abstract

Problems in the cultivation of plants pakchoy caused by the influence of the physical environment such as climate, wind, temperature, the intensity of solar radiation, humidity, and soil. The research aims to know types of mulch and patterns of the plant spacing for optimizing on growth and yield of pakchoy. This experiment had been conducted in the experimental field Margahayu, Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran, Lembang on September-November 2016. The design of the research which used was randomized block design factorial with 9 treatment combinations and 3 replications. The first factor is “Types of Mulch”, the use of M0 (no mulch), M1 (black silver plastic mulch), and M2 (rice straw mulch). The second factor is “The Plant Spacing Patterns”, which are J0 (10x10 cm_triangle), J1 (20x20 cm_square), and J2 (30x30 cm_hexagonal). Data was analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan Multiple’s Range Test (DMRT) at α=5%. The result showed that the use of black silver plastic mulch and spacing pattern of 20x20 cm (square) is a combination of the best treatment because it has the fresh weight of the canopy and the fresh weight of the roots of the most highest when compared to treatment with a combination of other, namely fresh weight of canopy 5,02 kg and weight of fresh roots 253,6 g.

Abstract

Cherry tomato have various colour, shape and nutritious fruit. The aim of this research was to make population for genetic selection and to know about xenia and metaxenia effect on tomato crossing. The crossing was assigned in dialel crossing combination with Ranti tomato, Cherry tomato var. Grape, Red Pear and Indigo Rose as a crossing parents. The crossing combination was Ranti x Grape, Ranti x Red Pear, Ranti x Indigo Rose, Grape x Ranti, Grape x Red Pear, Grape x Indigo Rose, Indigo Rose x Grape, Indigo Rose x Ranti, Indigo Rose x Red Pear. Parameter measured were crossing ability, fruit set ability, fruit ripening age, seed number and fruit shape. The result showed that Grape x Red Pear crossing combination had the highest crossing ability and Indigo Rose x Red Pear had the highest fruit set ability. Xenia and metaxenia effects were showed in fruit ripening age, seed number and fruit shape. Genotype of Red Pear x Indigo Rose was found as superior genotype candidate for ripening age, seed number and had highest percentage of fruit shape alteration. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh level MOL bonggol pisang yang sesuai, pengaruh frekuensi serta mengetahui kombinasi level dan frekuensi terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi bawang merah. Penelitian berlangsung pada bulan Februari – April 2018. Penelitian dilakuan di rumah kaca Balai Perlindungan Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura (BPTPH), dilanjutkan dengan menimbang berat basah di Laboratorium Ekologi dan Produksi Tanaman, Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang.Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Percobaan Faktorial 5 x 3 Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan ulangan 3 kali. Faktor pertama adalah level mol (0, 10, 20, 30 dan 40 ml) Faktor kedua frekuensi penyiraman (1 minggu, 2 minggu, 3 minggu). Parameter penelitian yaitu Tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot segar vegetatif tanaman, jumlah umbi bawang merah. Pemberian level mol 40 ml menghasilkan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman,bobot segar vegetatif tanaman dan jumlah umbi bawang merah, Kata Kunci : Bawang Merah, Mol, Level dan frekuensi

Abstract

The aims of research was to determine the effect of gamma ray on the flower colour of Daisies. The research design was completely randomized design with five replicates. The irradiation treatment of gamma ray were 0 Gy, 5 Gy, 10 Gy, 15 Gy, 20 Gy. Parameters observed were stalk length, time of flowering, number of flowers, flower diameter, and flower colour. The collected data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued by Least Significance Different (LSD) of 5% level. The result showed that irradiation of gamma ray did not affected stalk length, number of flowers, and time of flowering. The gamma ray irradiation had a significant effect on flower diameter. Gamma ray irradiation significantly decreased the diameter of flower. The flower colour at doses 0 Gy (control) was purple. Colour flower was varied from dark purple to pink at irradiation 10 Gy and 15 Gy. Keywords: Callistephus chinensis, mutation, irradiation, colour of flower.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine growth and production responses of Spoon Mustard (Brassica chinensis L.) due to the treatment of various type of manure and to determine types of manure which effective for the growth and production of Spoon Mustard. This Research has been conducted at  Experimental field and Laboratory of Plants’s Ecology and Production, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Science, Diponegoro University from January to March 2017. This research used monofactorexperiment in Completely Randomized design arrangement. The treatment was variation of manure which were cow manure, goat manure, sheep manure, horse manure, and chicken manure, they would be compared with nontreatment (0 fertilizer) and  300 kg/ha urea in four times replication. The obtained data were processed statistically with analysis of variance (F test) and Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5% level. The result’s showed that manure treatment with different types gave effect to the plant heigh, number of leaves, leaf area, and plant production. The best treatment was chicken manure treatment which produced average of plant height as 26,33 cm, average of number of  leaves as 11sheet,  average of leaf area as 1033,30 cm, and Spoon Mustard production as 2319,90 g/m2.Keywords: Organic Fertilizer, Manure, Pakcoy.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the response of growth and production of red rice (Oryza nivara) under drought and nanosilica fertilization condition. This research was conducted in Greenhouse and Laboratory of and Plant Physiology and Breeding of at Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang from April to July 2017. The research was arranged using completely randomized factorial design. The first factor was drought stress (control, drought 20-35 DAP (Days After Planting), 40-55 DAP and 55-70 DAP). The second factor was the use of nanosilika fertilizers (without nanosilika, with nanosilica). The data were analyzed by anova and followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the drought stress during tiller production stage decreased the total number of tillers, productive tillers and grain weight per clump, but not in weight of one thousand seeds. Drought stress during flowering stage and seed filling only decreases the weight of one thousand seeds. Application of nanosilica increases the number of productive tillers and the weight of grain per hill. There was no interaction between drought stress treatment and nanosilika fertilization. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh jumlah ruas stek dan sumber pupuk nitrogen yang berbeda pada pertumbuhan dan produksi simplisia tanaman Kumis Kucing(Orthosiphon aristatus). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah jumlah ruas batang stek (3, 5, dan 7 ruas) dan faktor kedua adalah sumber pupuk nitrogen (urea, pupuk kandang ayam, pupuk kandang sapi, dan pupuk kandang kambing). Parameter pertumbuhan yang diamati meliputi panjang tunas total, jumlah daun, dan volume akar. Parameter produksi yang diamati yaitu berat daun (simplisia) segar dan kering. Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji berganda Duncan (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan jumlah ruas stek mampu meningkatkan panjang tunas total, jumlah daun, dan volume akar. Penggunaan sumber hara nitrogen yang berbeda hanya meningkatkan parameter volume akar. Kedua perlakuan belum mampu meningkatkan produksi simplisia tanaman kumis kucing, serta tidak menunjukkan adanya interaksi pada seluruh parameter penelitian. Kata kunci : Orthosiphon aristatus, Simplisia, Stek, Sumber Nitrogen.
