Abstract

This research aimed to study the growth and yield of Okra at different nitrogen fertilizer levels and plant spacing. The experiment was assigned in a completely randomized factorial design with plant spacing (50x50 and 50x75 cm) as the first factor and nitrogen fertilizer level (0, 50, 100, 150 kg N/ha) as the second factor. Each treatments was repeated three times. Parameters measured were stem diameter, number of leaves, number of fruits per plot, and weight of fruits per plot. Data were subjected to ANOVA and followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that adding 50 kg N/ha increased stem diameter and number of leaves. The treatment of 50x50 cm spacing and 150 kg N/ha dose had the highest number of fruits per plot and weight of fruits per plot, and significantly different with 0 kg N/ha dose treatment in all parameters.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study dialel crossing of 4 soybean varieties in order to get drought resistant varieties. The research used Completely Randomized Design with six crossing combination : Dering x Grobogan, Grobogan x Dering, Dering x Detam, Detam x Dering, Dering x Devon, and Devon x Dering. Each combination was repeated five times. Parameters observed were percentage of fertilization, number of seeds in pods, long of pods, weight of 10 seeds. Parameters were analyzed descriptively and heterosis was calculated. The research results showed that crossing between dering and devon had the highest percentage of fertilization. Crossing between dering and grobogan improved number of seed in pod, long of pods and weight of 10 seeds. The highest heterosis of seed number in pod, long of pods and weight of 10 seeds were resulted from crossing dering x devon, Dering x Grobogan, Grobogan x Dering, respectively. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the research was to determine the physiological characters, heritability estimation, and information of lethal doses (LD50) of M1 onion plant induced by gamma ray irradiation. The research was arranged in monofactor experimental with Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 5 replication, each replication consisted of 5 onion bulbs was irradiated by gamma ray of 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 Gy. Parameters observed: the percentage of germination, chlorophyl content, nitrate reductase activity, heritability estimation and LD50. The data were analyzed by anova and followed by BNT 5% level. The result showed that irradiation significant affected to chlorophyl content and nitrate reductase activity. LD50 of onion is 7,64 Gy. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempertahankan kualitas viabilitas benih kelengkeng selama 30 hari penyimpanan dengan kombinasi jenis bahan pelapis yang ditambahkan ekstrak biji selasih dengan wadah simpan yang berbeda. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 4x3 dengan 4 kali ulangan, faktor pertama yaitu pengaruh pelapisan (T) dengan perlakuan T1 (kontrol), T2 (Arabic gum + ekstrak biji selasih), T3 (Alginat + ekstrak biji selasih), T4 (Carboxyl Methyl cellulose + ekstrak biji selasih). Faktor kedua wadah simpan (P) yaitu kertas buram coklat (P1), plastik poripropilen (P2), dan aluminium foil (P3). Parameter pengamatan berupa kadar air benih, daya kecambah, indeks vigor, dan potensi tumbuh maksimum. Data dianalisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut Duncan Multiple Range Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan formulasi pelapisan CMC dengan ekstrak biji selasih pada wadah simpan alumunium foil dapat mempertahankan viabilitas benih kelengkeng selama penyimpanan yang paling baik dengan hasil kadar air benih kelengkeng pada perlakuan tersebut yaitu sebesar 47,68 %, daya berkecambah 83,75 %, indeks vigor benih 53,75 % dan potensi tumbuh maksimum yaitu sebesar 90 %.

Abstract

Setting the temperature of the storage space of seeds and storage containers will greatly affect the quality of the seed. The aim of this research was to study the effect of temperature treatment, storage container and their interaction on seed quality and seedling growth of chilli. The study was conducted in Jetis Village and Laboratory of Plant Physiology and Breeding, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University from January to June 2017. The study was conducted using nesting experiments on the basis of Completely Randomized Design (RAL). The first factor was Storage Temperature (R1 = Room Temperature 24-29 oC, R2 = Refrigerator Temperature 5oC) and second factor was storage container nested at storage temperature that was (P1 = Alumunium foil, P2 = Paper and P3 = Plastic). Each treatment had 5 replications and each replication consisted of 100 seeds, so there were 30 experimental units. The data were analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with test of HSD (Honesty Significant Difference) 5% significance level. The results showed that the storage temperature (5oC) temperature increased the temperature and the seed vigor index was larger than the room temperature (28oC), the aluminum foil packaging produced the maximum growth potential and germination rate was higher than the plastic and paper packaging but there was no different growth rate and index vigor. Low storage space temperatures (5oC) can not maintain maximum seed quality where the 4 parameters were still below the standard quality of the seed. Seeds stored in low temperature (5oC) rooms producedfresh weight and dry weight of seedlings larger than high temperature (28oC), but the number of leaves, seed height and hypothetical vigor index were not significantly different. The aluminum foil packaging producedfresh weight and dry weight of seeds higher than plastic and paper packaging. However, the number of leaves, the height of seed and the hypothetical vigor index were notsignificantly different. Keywords : Temperature, container store, seeds quality, seedling growth, chilli.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan beberapa varietas benih bawang merah terhadap beberapa dosis GA3 terhadap pertumbuhan bawang merah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 5 Maret – 6 Juli 2018 di Screen HouseAgroecotechnopark dan Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Pemuliaan Tanaman, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial 4x3 dengan 4 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis GA3 terhadap terdiri atas 4 taraf yaitu M0: 0 ppm, M1: 50 pm, M2:100 ppm dan M3: 200 ppm. Faktor kedua yaitubeberapa varietas benih bawang merah terdiri atas 3 taraf yaitu V1: Bima, V2: Tutuk dan V3: Lokananta. Parameter yang diamati yaitu Indek vigor, daya kecambah, potensi tumbuh maksimum, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan dan berat basah total tanaman. Data dianalisis ragam dan diuji lanjut dengan Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan dosis GA3 100 ppm dengan varietas Lokananta memberikan hasil nyata lebih tinggi dibanding perlakuan lainnya, pada parameter indeks vigor dan daya kecambah. Perlakuan dosis GA3 50 ppm dengan varietas tuktuk memberikan hasil nyata lebih tinggi dibanding perlakuan lainnya, pada jumlah daun dan anakan bawang merah. Kata Kunci : Allium cepa L.,true shallot seed, giberelin, pertumbuhan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fertilizer application types such as wasted tea fertilizer, leaf litter fertilizer, and market wasted fertilizer on growth and yield of pakchoy mustard. The experimental design was Mono factorial Complete Randomized Design with 8 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were without fretilization (A0), Tea Wasted fertilizer (A1), Leaf Litter fertilizer (A2), Market Wasted fertilizer (A3), Tea Wasted fertilizer + leaf litter fertilizer (A4), Tea Wasted fertilizer + Market Wasted fertilizer (A5), leaf litter fertilizer + Market Wasted fertilizer (A6), Urea fertilizer 300 kg/ha (A7). Each treatment was replicated in three times and produced 24 experimental units with experimental plots area of 1 m x 1.5 m. The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area index and fresh canopy production. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance and continuedby Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5%. The results showed that fertilizer treatment of various types of organic waste fertilizer Tea Wasted fertilizer, Leaf Litter fertilizer, Market Wasted fertilizer, Tea Wasted fertilizer + leaf litter fertilizer, Tea Wasted fertilizer + Market Wasted fertilizer, leaf litter fertilizer + Market Wasted fertilize resulted in plant height, number of leaves, fresh leaf canopy production significantly different from treatment without fertilization and urea fertilization. The best result of fresh canopy production was found in the treatment of market waste fertilizer weighing 2,778.47 g / m², the fertilizer application of market waste fertilizer and the combination treatment of tea and market waste fertilizer yielded the best plant height with 31.16 cm, the combination treatment of waste fertilizer Tea and market produces the best leaves as much as 12.44 leaflets, and fertilizer treatment of tea waste fertilizer, market waste fertilizer, tea waste fertilizer + market waste fertilizer, and leaf litter fertilizer + market waste fertilizer yield value index of leaf area 1.23. Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of KCl addition on the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) on various organic fertilizer bases. The research was conducted using a monofactor experiment with Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 8 treatments with four replications. The treatment is without fertilization (K0), chicken manure (K1), goat manure (K2), cattle manure (K3), chicken manure + KCl (K4), goat manure + KCl (K5), cattle manure + KCl (K6), Urea, SP-36, KCl (K7). The observed parameters are plant height, leaf number, bulb number, bulb diameter, wet weight of plant and the potassium (K) uptake of plant. Data were subjected to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results of the research showed organic fertilizer with or without KCl addition or NPK fertilizer gave higher plant height, leaf number, bulb diameter and wet weight of plant and potasium (K) uptake compared to without fertilization. The KCl addition on organic fertilizer did not increase wet weight of plant. The treatment chicken manure gave the higher indication on yield of plant compare to goat and cow manure.Keywords: shallot, organic fertilizer, KCl

Abstract

The research aims was to investigate the interaction between dose of leaf compost and pruning on the growth and production of red okra. The research was assigned in basic design of completely randomized 4x2 factorial with three replications. The first factor was doses of leaf K (0, 50, 100, 150 kg N / ha). The second factor was pruning P (unpruned and pruned), each treatment was repeated three times. The parameters measured were stem diameter, number of leaves, number of fruits per plant, number of fruit per plot, and fruit weight per plot,. The data were analyzed statistically by of variance followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that there was no interaction effect at treatment doses of compost litter and pruning. Dosage of compost litter of 50 kg N / ha can increase the growth of girth, number of leaves, and the number of fruit per plot. Litter compost fertilizer dose of 100 kg N / ha can promote the growth and production of red okra. Pruning treatment can increase the production of red okra. Abstract

Percobaan bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efek dari berbagai dosis nitrogen dan waktu penerapan pupuk organik cair (POC) dan interaksi dari dua perlakuan pada pertumbuhan dan produksi terong hijau. Desain acak lengkap disusun sebagai pola faktorial 4x3 digunakan di seluruh percobaan. Setiap unit percobaan diulang tiga kali. Faktor pertama terdiri dari berbagai dosis POC yaitu D0: tidak ada penambahan POC, D1: 25 kg N/ha, D2: 50 kg N/ha, D3: 75 kg N/ha, masing-masing setara dengan 800, 1600, 2400 ml POC/tanaman. Faktor kedua adalah waktu aplikasi POC terdiri dari M1, M2 dan M3 berturut-turut selama 7, 28 hari setelah tanam (HST) dan pada saat berbunga. Parameter yang diamati meliputi jumlah daun, klorofil daun tanaman, jumlah dan bobot buah segar. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan menggunakan ANOVA dan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) digunakan untuk analisis lebih lanjut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan dari tingkat perlakuan POC yang berbeda dan waktu aplikasi POC terutama pada bobot buah segar. Dosis POC 1600 ml/tanaman meningkatkan jumlah buah. Perlakuan kombinasi 2400 ml/tanaman dan 7 HST meningkatkan kualitas fisik tanaman terung hijau.
