Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the knowledge level of the society around Bosscha Observatory in Lembang about light pollution. The research was conducted using a survey method to  98 respondents in Lembang Village, Lembang District, West Bandung District. Based on the results of the research, it is revealed that the knowledge level  of the Society  around  Bosscha Observatory Lembang about light pollution is categorized as high. It is based on the research on four dimensions of knowledge with high results for factual, conceptual, and procedural knowledge, thus  indicating that the public knows well the term, indicators, causes, disorder, harmful nature, the countermeasure solution , the countermeasure techniques, and the criteria of when to apply the  procedure of light pollution countermeasure. Then, the next is medium results for metacognition knowledge indicating that the public knows enough information resources, the importance of countermeasures, and the awareness of the knowledge about light pollution. Therefore  the society is expected to be wiser in using artificial light and contribute to reducing light pollution. Keywords: Knowledge, Light Pollution, Bosscha Observatory

Abstract

This research is about how the utilization of “twitter TMCPoldaMetro” in satisfy information need of the users of the higway.The purpose of this research is to know the extent of utilization of “twitter TMC Polda Metro” in meet information need of the new approach, the approach needs regular information, in-depth information needs approach, and the approach to information needs at a glance the user of the highway. This reaserach method used is descriptive method intended to describe or expose variables that become the object of his research. Technic to collect data done with question form, interviews, and study literature. Population in this research are the follower “twitter TMCPoldaMetro” and technic to take sampel used accidental sampling to anyone around Polda Metro. Based on the reaserach results that using “twitter TMCPoldaMetro” enough to satisfy new information needs, daily information needs approach, to deep information needs approach, and information needs approach of the users of the higway approach.Penelitian ini adalah mengenai bagaimana pemanfaatan “twitter TMCPolda Metro” dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi para pengguna jalan raya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pemanfaatan “twitter TMCPoldaMetro” dalam memenuhi pendekatan kebutuhan informasi mutkahir, pendekatan kebutuhan informasi rutin, pendekatan kebutuhan informasi mendalam, dan pendekatan kebutuhan informasi sekilas para pengguna jalan raya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif yang dimaksudkan untuk menggambarkan atau memaparkan variabel–variabel yang menjadi objek penelitiannya. Teknik pengambilan datanya dilakukan melalui angket, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Adapun yang menjadi populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah follower “twitter TMCPoldaMetro” dan teknik pengambilan sampelnya menggunakan teknik accidental sampling yaitu mengambil sampel siapa saja yang ada atau yang kebetulan ditemui. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa dengan memanfaatkan “twitter TMCPoldaMetro” cukup memenuhi pendekatan kebutuhan informasi mutakhir, pendekatan kebutuhan informasi rutin, pendekatan kebutuhan informasi mendalam, dan pendekatan kebutuhan informasi sekilas para pengguna jalan raya.

Abstract

Facebook is the largest networking site in the world with a growing number of users. Currently, Facebook has evolved into a site that can be used for information sharing by individuals through their personal accounts in the group called ‘Backpacker Dunia’, totaling 104,130 members whose hobby is traveling all over the world. This study aimed to identify (1) the relationship between commitment, excitement of helping others, reputation, and the groups appreciation of attitudes towards knowledge sharing, (2) the relationship between attitudes toward knowledge sharing and purpose of knowledge sharing, (3) the appropriate model for knowledge sharing in this study. This knowledge sharing model was adapted from the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). The method used in this study was quantitative with an online questionnaire instrument to facilitate the collection of data because the respondents were in cyberspace. SEM-PLS and Smart-PLS 3.0 were used as methods and tools for data analysis and constructing a knowledge sharing model in this study. The number of respondents in the study was 54 people. In the model proposed in the study were 4 hypotheses in the tested coefficient path and one of them was not significant. The study reveals that the relationship between commitment and attitude toward knowledge sharing is not significant, while the relationship between excitement of helping others and attitude towards knowledge sharing; reputation and attitude towards knowledge sharing; attitude toward knowledge sharing and purpose of knowledge sharing are significant.

Abstract

This study discusses the users attitudes of the availability of services in Reading Lights. This study was conducted to determine how the visitor attitudes towards availability of services in Reading lights. The research method used is quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection methods used in this study are questionnaires, interviews, observation, and literature study. The population in this study are the visitors Reading Lights by taking a sample of 50 respondents. The results obtained show that the attitude of the visitors are comprised of aspects of knowledge (cognitive) visitors agreed to know the service availability in Reading Lights, Impression (affective) visitors agreed include aspects of respondents feelings agreed include aspects of respondents feelings about the provision of foreign language collection, behavior (conative) visitors tend to always want to come to Reading Lights. The conclusion of this study is Cognitive Aspects (Knowledge) visitors to the availability of services and Coffee Corner Reading Lights which includes knowledge about the services available in the Reading Lights, collections and facilities support(favorable), Aspects of Affective (feeling) of visitors to the availability of services Reading Light and Coffee Corner, which includes a sense of excitement/love to the services available in the Reading Lights, collections and facilities in general support (favorable), Aspect Conative (Behavior) of visitors to the availability of the service Light Reading and Coffee Corner, which includes the respondent wishes to come, read/buy a book, use the reading room, use the facilities and tell other people about Reading Lights that generally supports (favorable).This is evident from the questionnaire in the results research to be a reference to improve the Reading Lights service.Penelitian ini membahas sikap pengunjung terhadap ketersediaan layanan di Reading Lights. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana sikap pengunjung terhadap ketersediaan layanan di Reading Lights. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode kuantitatif melalui pendekatan deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan datan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner, wawancara, observasi dan studi literatur. Populasi dalam penelitian ini ialah pengunjung Reading Lights, yang diambil sampel 50 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap pengunjung terdiri dari aspek pengetahuan pengunjung (kognitif) setuju untuk mengetahui ketersediaan layanan di Reading Lights, perasaan pengunjung (afektif) meliputi aspek perasaan responden tentang ketersediaan layanan koleksi bahasa asing, prilaku pengunjung (konatif) cenderung selalu ingin datang ke Reading Lights. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ialah aspek pengetahuan pengunjung (kognitif) dalam sikap ketersediaan layanan dan Coffee Corner Reading Lights meliputi pengetahuan mengenai layanan yang tersedia di Reading Lights, koleksi dan fasilitas pendukung (favorable), aspek perasaan pengunjung (afektif) mengenai ketersediaan layanan Reading Lights dan Coffee Corner meliputi perasaan senang/cinta kepada layanan yang tersedia di Reading Lights, koleksi dan fasilitas pendukung (favorable). Aspek prilaku pengunjung (konatif) mengenai ketersediaan layanan Reading Lights dan Coffee Corner, mencakup responden ingin datang, membaca/membeli buku, menggunakan ruang baca, menggunakan fasilitas dan memberitahu orang lain tentang Reading Lights yang umumnya mendukung (favorabel). Hal ini terlihat dari hasil kuesioner penelitian yang diharapakan menjadi acuan untuk meningkatkan layanan di Reading Lights.

Abstract

Dalam perkembangan sekarang, konsep literasi tidak lagi hanya dikaitkan dengan informasi dan media, namun sudah disentuhkan ke dalam aspek-aspek tertentu kehidupan manusia secara lebih spesifik. Dalam konteks penggunaan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, misalnya, literasi dilekatkan dengan kemampuan orang untuk menggunakan perangkat komputer baik dari sisi perangkat keras maupun perangkat lunaknya. Sekarang, literasi sudah menyentuh banyak sekali aspek kehidupan manusia. Penelitian ini mengkaji literasi yang dilekatkan pada proses pembelajaran sepanjang hayat. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif yang dilengkapi dengan observasi dan wawancara terhadap 15 orang informan dari kalangan pemuda pedesaan di Jawa Barat bagian Selatan, diperoleh gambaran bahwa, literasi bukan sebuah karakteristik manusia sejak lahir, namun lebih merupakan sebagai kemampuan yang bisa dipelajari, baik di lingkungan sekolah maupun di luar sekolah. Literasi bahkan dilekatkan sebagai kemampuan seseorang dalam berinteraksi dengan masyarakat dan lingkungannya, dengan budayanya, dengan bisnisnya, dengan politiknya, dengan kehidupannya, dengan penghidupannya.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the document management activities in section infor- mation at the Secretariat District of West Sumba. The purpose of this study to find out how the document management activities in sub-section data input, telematics sub-section, sub-section data services. The method used in this study is qualitative research methods. Type of research by the author is a descriptive study. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, library research, triangulation of data, and documentation. Subject in this study is the head of telematics, telematics data, input data, data services Kasubag, Academian of documentation, and archival Unpad. The informants were interviewed in person and via telephone. These result indicate that the document mana- gement activities in Section Information the secretariat of the West Sumba District already works quite well particularly confidential documents but in practice there are still many obstacles both in terms of collection of documents, turning up to meet documents are still not well due to lack of facilities and infrastructures are still processing the document.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Bagaimana Kegiatan Pengelolaan Dokumen di Bagian Informatika pada Sekretariat Daerah Kabupaten Sumba Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana kegiatan penge- lolaan dokumen pada sub bagian data masukan, sub bagian telematika, sub bagian layanan data. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Jenis pene- litian yang penulis lakukan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digu- nakan adalah wawancara, observasi, studi kepus- takaan, triangulasi data, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Kepala Bagian telematika, Kasubag data telematika, Kasubag data masukan, Kasubag layanan data, Akademisi dokumentasi, dan kearsipan Unpad. Para infor- man diwawancarai secara langsung dan melalui telepon. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengelolaan dokumen di Bagian Infor- matika pada Sekretariat Daerah Kabupaten Sum- ba Barat sudah berjalan dengan cukup baik teru- tama dokumen rahasia namun dalam pelaksana- annya masih banyak kendala baik dari segi peng- umpulan dokumen, sampai dengan temu balik dokumen masih belum baik dikarenakan masih kurangnya sarana dan prasarana pengolahan dokumen.

Abstract

The needs of library information need to be met to complete the information needs of the library users who generally have a variety of reasons to perform activities in accordance with their purpose. Information retrieval activity is one of the main activities of the library users at the library of the Research Institute for Spices and Medicinal Herbs (RISMH) to find the source of literature through the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) facility. The purpose of the research was to determine the decision of the user in searching for information. The study was conducted from November to December 2017, with materials obtained from the library literature search 2015 -2017 results form.  The study used the quantitative descriptive method, while the observed variables were: searching users; sources of the required information; subjects needed, and the relationship of the user with the library material searched. Data were analyzed descriptively. The result of the study showed the dominant user searching for information was the researcher; source of information required was documentation, and subject/commodity needed by the user which was medicinal plants. There is a correlation between the researcher’s decision and the searching of journal literature and documentation; student decisions by searching books, journals, and documentation; as well as the general/private user’s decisions with book search and documentation. The information retrieval service at the Balittro Library needs to be improved by linking the online search database with the Balittro website so it can increase the number of online collections.

Abstract

One of the literacy movements that is currently developing is the proliferation of various communities Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) which was established by the community to provide access to information to the public in order to realize lifelong learning. Sudut Baca Soreang (SBS) as a TBM by relying on a variety of community is very active in making various activities literacy movements. This study aims to create a model of literacy movement activities undertaken by SBS with the end result was the model of a community -based literacy movement activities so that it can be one model for other TBM in making various activities literacy movements. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research using case study approach. The results showed that the shape of the literacy movement activities SBS driven by volunteers as well as spearhead in carrying out various activities that have been prepared weekly/monthly/yearly with one of the volunteers as person in charge. All activities are always evaluated regularly. This model can move literacy activities, promotional activities and drives the field of literacy advocacy activities. The manager of SBS (founders, trustees and volunteers) to make a wide range of activities aimed at local communities, which involves internal SBS as well as external parties SBS from local communities, students and community leaders and other strategic partners as a driver of literacy programming that has been designed by the manager of SBS, All activities that have been implemented are supported by promotional efforts through social media such as facebook as a primary medium.Salah satu gerakan literasi yang saat ini berkembang adalah menjamurnya berbagai komunitas Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) yang didirikan oleh masyarakat untuk memberikan akses informasi kepada masyarakat guna mewujudkan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat. Sudut Baca Soreang (SBS) sebagai sebuah TBM dengan mengandalkan berbagai komunitas masyarakat sangat aktif dalam membuat berbagai kegiatan gerakan literasi. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membuat model aktivitas gerakan literasi yang dilakukan oleh SBS dengan hasil akhirnya adalah adanya model aktivitas gerakan literasi berbasis komunitas sehingga dapat menjadi salah satu percontohan bagi TBM lainnya dalam membuat berbagai kegiatan gerakan literasi. Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk aktivitas gerakan literasi SBS dimotori oleh relawan serta menjadi ujung tombak dalam melaksanakan berbagai kegiatan yang telah disusun setiap minggu/bulan/tahunan dengan salah seorang sukarelawan sebagai penanggungjawabnya. Seluruh aktivitas tersebut selalu dilakukan evaluasi secara rutin dan dilakukan evaluasi tahunan pula. Model ini dapat menggerakkan aktivitas literasi, promosi kegiatan dan menjadi penggerak kegiatan advokasi bidang literasi. Para pengelola SBS (pendiri, pengurus dan relawan) membuat berbagai aktivitas yang ditujukan untuk masyarakat sekitar yang melibatkan pihak internal SBS maupun pihak ekternal SBS mulai dari masyarakat sekitar, pelajar ataupun tokoh masyarakat dan mitra strategis lainnya sebagai penggerak kegiatan literasi yang telah dirancang oleh pengelola SBS. Seluruh aktivitas yang telah dilaksanakan didukung oleh upaya promosi melalui media sosial berupa facebook sebagai media utama.

Abstract

Infographics are visualizations of data, ideas, information or knowledge through charts, graphs, schedules, and others so that data, ideas, information or knowledge can be presented more than just text and have a visual impact that is quite strong and more interesting. The study was conducted at the Bandung Institute of Technology Library and was aimed to determine the role of infographic’s attractiveness, clarity, and ease of understanding in utilizing library services at the Bandung Institute of Technology Library. This study used a quantitative descriptive analysis method, and the population in this study was library visitors totaling 13,716 people. Samples were obtained using the random sampling technique with a total of 100 people. The results of this study indicated that infographics as a promotional medium played a role in library utilization with indicators namely infographic attractiveness, clarity, and ease of understanding. The conclusions are that infographics play a role as promotional media in library utilization: seen from the aspect of attraction, the presentation of content on infographics attract the attention of the reader with display of colors and images that attract the reader; from the aspect of clarity, the information presented is precisely the content on the infographics for readers with font and the suitability the image; from the aspect of ease of understanding, the reader easily understand the information contained in the infographics so the reader can interpret for the meaning the message in this infographics.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini mengkaji tentang  Peran  Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (Tbm) Bagi Anak-Anak Usia Dini  Di Desa Narawita Kecamatan Cicalengka Kabupaten Bandung. Dengan  Metode atau Teknik  Participatory Rural Appraisal  dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, Focus Group Discussion, dan  studi pustaka kegiatan  ini bertujuan   mengetahui peran taman bancaan masyarakat  teutama mengenai tugas dan fungsi taman bacaan masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan belajar pada anak usia dini. Hasil kajian  menunjukkan bahwa taman bacaan masyarakat yang ada di lingkungan desa Narawita   berperan sebagai sumber belajar anak-anak usia dini,  sumber informasi bagi para orang tua dalam membina anak usia dini, dan  sarana rekreasi-edukasi bagi masyrakat. Dengan demikian  taman bacaan masyarakat   dapat berperan  sebagai sarana belajar baik bagi anak-anak usia dini maupun para orang tua anak-anak- terutama ibu rumah tangga muda dalam memperluas pengetahuan merekaAbstractThis activity examines the role of the Community Library (TBM) For Early Childhood In the village NarawitaCicalengka District of Bandung regency. Method or Participatory Rural Appraisal Techniques and data collection through interviews, observation, focus group discussions, and literature study aims to determine the role of these activities bancaan community garden teutama on the tasks and functions of public reading in improving learning skills in early childhood. The results show that the public reading in a village environment Narawita serve as a source of learning early age children, resources for parents in fostering early childhood-education and recreational facilities for the community. Thus the public reading can serve as a learning tool for both kids an early age and the parents children-especially young housewife in expanding their knowledge.
