Abstract

The purpose of this study is to disscussed about how students in Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran (FIKOM UNPAD) doing the process of deepening on information in academic and non academic fields based on the first information source, which is LINE@ BEM Fikom Unpad. This research used a qualitative method with phenomenological tradition. The data accumulation was done by in-depth interview, observation, and by literature study. The informants are nine students from various departments in FIKOM UNPAD, who have been accessing LINE@ BEM Fikom Unpad for obtained infor information. The results of this study indicate that all informants doing deepening on the information that received from LINE@ BEM Fikom Unpad to various sources of information, whether it is using technology based communication and information media or discussion with their colleagues.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran (FIKOM UNPAD) dalam melakukan proses pendalaman terhadap informasi yang telah mereka peroleh dari sumber informasi awal, yaitu LINE@ BEM Fikom Unpad. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan tradisi fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Informan merupakan sembilan orang mahasiswa dari berbagai jurusan yang ada di Fikom Unpad, yang aktif dalam mengakses LINE@ BEM Fikom Unpad untuk mendapatkan informasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semua informan melakukan pendalaman atas informasi yang mereka peroleh dari LINE@ BEM Fikom Unpad kepada berbagai sumber informasi lainnya, baik itu dengan menggunakan media berbasis teknologi komunikasi dan informasi maupun dengan melakukan forum diskusi bersama rekan sejawat dikampusnya.

Abstract

Information needs are necessary for humans to answer questions that are in the mind, in order to enhance their professions or main activities. The needs of each person are influenced by different situations, cognitions and physiological backgrounds. All aspects of human life require information which is expected to continuously support the improvement of life patterns toward increasing complexities. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the relationship of information seeking behavior by military instructors with the learning outcomes of transportation briefing of the Indonesian Army in Cimahi. This study used the correlational research method with the Spearman rank statistical test; study results showed: 1) a positive relationship between the information seeking behavior of the initiation phase and learning outcomes of transportation briefing; 2) a positive relationship between the information seeking behavior of the selection phase and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing; 3) a positive relationship between the information retrieval behavior of the exploration stage and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing; 4) a positive relationship between the information seeking behavior of the formulation stage and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing; 5) a positive relationship between the information collection stage collection behavior and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing; and 6) a positive relationship between the information seeking behavior of the presentation stage and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing. In conclusion, there is a positive relationship between information seeking behavior by military instructors and the learning outcomes of transportation briefing.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to disscussed about how the information behavior of the machetes craftsmen in the village Galonggong Tasikmalaya to search information to meet the needs of the information. The research methodology used in this study is a qualitative method with case study approach. The data collection was done by in-depth interviews, observation, and literature. The informant are four craftsmen who life and work in kampong Galonggong Tasikmalaya, selected through a purposive sampling of which is taking a data source with a certain considerations. The data collection was done by in-depth interviews, observation, and literature. The informant are four craftsmen who life and work in kampong Galongong Tasikmalaya. consideration this particular is a craftsman who has more than 10 years, and has been active in the search for information using many sources, both by using media-based communications and information technology as well as using conventional media such as books or small notes or also conduct discussion with colleagues to meet their information needs. The result showed that all the informants go through several stages of information search, there are five major stages that artisans do, namely the prefix stage, the stage of selection of topics, focusing the selection stage, the information gathering stage and the last stage is the presentation of information.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas tentang bagaimana perilaku para pengrajin golok di kampung Galonggong Tasikmalaya dalam melakukan pencarian informasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Informan merupakan 4 orang pengrajin yang berada dikampung Galonggong Tasikmalaya, yang dipilih melalui cara purposive sampling yaitu pengambilan sumber data dengan pertimbangan tertentu. Pertimbangan tertentu ini adalah pengrajin yang memiliki pengalaman lebih dari 10 tahun, serta aktif dalam mencari informasi menggunakan berbagai sumber baik itu dengan menggunakan media berbasis teknologi komunikasi dan informasi maupun menggunakan media konvensional seperti buku atau catatan kecil atau juga melakukan forum diskusi bersama rekan seprofesi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa semua informan menempuh beberapa tahapan pencarian informasi, ada 5 tahapan besar yang pengrajin lakukan, yakni tahap awalan, tahap pemilihan topik, tahap pemilihan fokus, tahap pengumpulan informasi dan yang terakhir tahap penyajian informasi.

Abstract

Sistem informasi akademik merupakan suatu sistem yang dirancang khusus untuk dapat mengelola berbagai data akademik dengan banyak entitas, kepuasan mahasiswa sebagai stakeholder merupakan bagian yang penting bagi Universitas, tata kelola Portal Akademik yang baik perlu dilakukan. Berdasarkan dokumen Laporan Helpdesk Universitas XYZ  terdapat 522 keluhan pada Website Portal Akademik. Website terkadang  mengalami gangguan misalnya sistem yang down, erorr saat melakukan registrasi, dan kehilangan data. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui harapan dan penilaian pengguna terhadap kualitas Website Portal Akademik, serta idikator yang harus ditingkatkan untuk mendukung peningkatan kualitas Website Portal Akademik. Penelitian ini  menggunakan Metode Kuantitatif dengan Teknik Analisa Deskriptif (Analisis Jenjang) dan Metode Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) berdasarkan indikator WebQual 4.0. Kuesioner disebarkan kepada 439  responden mahasiswa pada tujuh fakultas di Universitas XYZ, serta melakukan wawancara kepada manajer operasional dan pengelola data centre Direktorat Sistem Informasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa secara keseluruhan penilaian kinerja Website Portal Akademik memiliki skor rata-rata sebesar 1499.30 atau 68.31%  masuk dalam kategori baik, namun terdapat satu sub variabel dimana kinerjanya berada pada kategori sedang yaitu sub variabel Service interaction. Pengguna memiliki tingkat harapan yang tinggi terhadap seluruh sub variabel dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 1787.23 atau 81%. Hasil dari pemetaan diagram IPA, kuadran I diisi oleh indikator website menyampaikan rasa kompetensi (dapat diakses setiap saat), website  menyediakan informasi dengan detail, dan pengguna merasa aman terhadap informasi pribadinya (informasi tidak pernah hilang atau berubah), tiga indikator tersebut harus menjadi konsentrasi Bagian Direktorat Sistem Informasi untuk melakukan perbaikan pada Website Portal Akademik. Kata Kunci: Sistem Informasi, WebQual 4.0, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA)

Abstract

This research aims to discuss how the behavior of journalists, especially in daily news paper Pikiran Rakyat Bandung Raya rubric’s to search information as an idea in making news. The research methodology was qualitative method with case research approach. The data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observation, and literature. Informants in this research were the twelve journalists in Pikiran Rakyat Bandung Raya Rubric’s is selected by snowball sampling techniques with the help of key informants. through key informants, research’s get the next informant to be interviewed. The results of this research shows that all informants do several stages of information seeking, there are six greats stages journalist do is stage activities prefix information retrieval, stage activities of election/ selection information topics, the processing step search/ browsing information, the processing step collecting the information, the processing step presentation and a processing step which is flexible journalist that the determination of viewpoint/ news Angle. The results of this research shows that all informants through several stages information seeking. There are six stages journalist do, prefix step of information seeking, the stage of election/ selection information topics, the stage of search/browsing information, the stage of  collecting the information, the stage of presentation and there is a flexible stage of journalist to determine Angle news. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas tentang bagaimana perilaku para wartawan khususnya di rubrik Bandung Raya koran harian Pikiran Rakyat dalam melakukan pencarian informasi sebagai gagasan dalam pembuatan berita. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Informan dalam penelitian ini merupakan dua belas wartawan yang ada di Rubrik Bandung Raya Pikiran Rakyat yang dipilih melalui teknik Snowball sampling dengan bantuan key informan. Melalui key informan maka peneliti mendapatkan informan selanjutnya untuk di wawancarai. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semua informan melakukan beberapa tahapan pencarian informasi, terdapat enam tahapan besar yang wartawan lakukan, yaitu tahap kegiatan awal pencarian informasi, tahap kegiatan pemilihan/ seleksi topik informasi, tahap kegiatan penelusuran/penjelajahan informasi, tahap kegiatan pengkoleksian informasi, tahap kegiatan penyajian dan satu tahap kegiatan wartawan yang bersifat fleksibel yaitu penentuan sudut pandang berita.

Abstract

Radio RASI FM is a community radio that organizes and broadcasts the tradition of ‘ngaruat lembur’, the tradition of expressing gratitude to God, and to ward off disasters as well. This radio performs documentation starting from data searching to creating a form of cultural documentation. The study purpose was to see the documentation process of the traditional culture of ‘ngaruat lembu’ at RASI FM radio. The research used the case study method through qualitative method approach to the owner, broadcaster of radio and community of Cisewu Village. The study results indicated that RASI FM radio documented the ‘ngaruat lembur’ tradition through the recording and management process. Recording activities started from the collection of information and records in the form of pouring data. Management activities consisted of the distribution of duties as an on-air announcer, off-air broadcaster, and audio-visual documentation. Then, the storage of written broadcast results on radio and data into audio-visual media was performed and preservation of documents through the separation and maintenance of audio-visual media. Based on that, we constructed a model of the cultural documentation process of ‘ngaruat lembur’ on RASI FM radio. The radio serves as a preserver of rural community traditions through the ‘ngaruat lembur’ program, which is followed by all circles of society. However, the radio team did not yet have a digital-based form of audio-visual documentation maintenance. Nevertheless, RASI FM radio has become a forum for transferring traditional information of Cisewu Village community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out visual literacy pattern of infographic designers in order to create infographics in House of Infographics (HOI). The scope of this study is the ability of infographic designers in interpreting the visual object and creating infographics. This study is using qualitative case study method. Observation, interview and literature study, with the purposive sampling technique are chosen as the method of data collection. The informants of the research was the designer of infographics in House of Infographics (HOI). The results of the study showed that visual literacy patterns formed in interpreting visual objects in HOI, by reading and understanding the basic concepts of design. In creating infographics,infographic designer has workflows, which are brainstorming activities, information and data collection, content determination, narrative preparation, information visualization design, and infographics publication.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan pola literasi visual infografer dalam pembuatan informasi grafis di House of Infographics (HOI). Ruang lingkup penelitian ini ialah kemampuan desainer infografer dalam menafsirkan objek visual dan menciptakan infografis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka, dengan teknik purposive sampling dipilih sebagai metode pengumpulan data. Informan penelitian adalah perancang infografis di House of Infografis (HOI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola literasi visual yang terbentuk dalam menafsirkan objek visual di HOI melalui membaca dan memahami konsep dasar desain. Dalam menciptakan infografis, desainer infographic memiliki alur kerja, yang brainstorming kegiatan, informasi dan pengumpulan data, penentuan konten, persiapan narasi, desain informasi visualisasi, dan publikasi infografis.

Abstract

The Sundanese language becomes one of the regional languages in the Indonesian Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC)’s notation 499.2232. The knowledge of Sunda has become a representation of the language used by the Sunda ethnicity in ancient and present times, thus it is necessary to record the development of language science and Sundanese literature into the DDC system in the library. This study aimed to extend the Dewey’s Classification notation in the field of the Sundanese language and literature. The scope of this study was to review the Indonesian and Sundanese language and literature notations in the 23rd edition of DDC Classification System, the development of knowledge about the Sundanese language and Sundanese literature, as well as the extension of the notation on the subjects. The research used a qualitative method using a descriptive. The result of this study was the extension of the Sundanese language and literature subject notation to complete the DDC classification scheme, which then would be submitted to the Library Material Development and Information Services in the National Library of Indonesia. Furthermore, the development of knowledge of the Sundanese language and literature that have been published in various forms of publication, to date can be represented by some more specific classification notation under the notation 499.223 2 for the Sundanese language and under notation 899.223 2 for the Sundanese literature. The notation will also provide benefits in the management of library materials as a representation of information contained in various publications on the Sundanese language and literature.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the "role of teachers in the growing smart home smart home users reading Mekarsari Ciwidey village". The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. Techniques of data collection through observation, interviews, and questionnaires on children users Smart House, as well as library research. In this study, researchers analyzed that the characteristics of a good teacher is a smart home: to answer and give you the exact reason of the importance of reading books, being able to explain well about the book being discussed, can share experiences about the positive impact of diligent reading, always actively invited to do read books together, always be friendly, provide information about the importance of reading the book again and again, delivering an important message about reading clearly, using language that is easily understood in explaining the importance of reading books. Based on the research results, the researchers concluded that teachers or communicators in Smart House Program in Rural Mekarsari Ciwidey meets the characteristics of a good teacher smart homes. Teachers in the program the smart home has good credibility in delivering messages and infor- mation about the importance of reading to children. And content of the message conveyed by the communicator to get a good response from the res- pondent, as well as the interest in reading are owned by the Village Mekarsari Ciwidey fall into the category of high. Researchers hope that this study can serve as a model for other social foundation to develop childrens interest in reading villages in other areas.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan "Peranan Pengajar di Rumah Pintar Dalam Menumbuhkan Minat Baca Pengguna di Desa Mekarsari Ciwidey". Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner pada pengguna anak-anak Rumah Pintar, serta studi pustaka. Dalam studi ini, peneliti menganalisis bahwa karakteristik guru yang baik adalah rumah pintar: untuk menjawab dan memberikan alasan yang tepat tentang pentingnya membaca buku, mampu menjelaskan dengan baik tentang buku yang sedang dibahas, dapat berbagi pengalaman tentang positif dampak rajin membaca, selalu aktif diundang untuk melakukan buku membaca bersama-sama, selalu ramah, memberikan informasi tentang pentingnya membaca buku lagi dan lagi, memberikan pesan penting tentang membaca dengan jelas, menggunakan bahasa yang mudah dipahami dalam menjelaskan pentingnya membaca buku. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, para peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa guru atau komunikator di Rumah Pintar Program di Pedesaan Mekarsari Ciwidey memenuhi karakteristik guru yang baik rumah pintar. Guru di program rumah pintar memiliki kredibilitas yang baik dalam menyampaikan pesan dan informasi tentang pentingnya membaca untuk anak-anak. Dan isi dari pesan yang disampaikan oleh komunikator untuk mendapatkan respon yang baik dari responden, serta minat baca yang dimiliki oleh Desa Mekarsari Ciwidey jatuh ke dalam kategori tinggi. Para peneliti berharap bahwa penelitian ini dapat berfungsi sebagai model untuk yayasan sosial lainnya untuk mengembangkan minat anak-anak dalam membaca desa di daerah lain.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini mengkaji tentang  Peran  Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (Tbm) Bagi Anak-Anak Usia Dini  Di Desa Narawita Kecamatan Cicalengka Kabupaten Bandung. Dengan  Metode atau Teknik  Participatory Rural Appraisal  dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, Focus Group Discussion, dan  studi pustaka kegiatan  ini bertujuan   mengetahui peran taman bancaan masyarakat  teutama mengenai tugas dan fungsi taman bacaan masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan belajar pada anak usia dini. Hasil kajian  menunjukkan bahwa taman bacaan masyarakat yang ada di lingkungan desa Narawita   berperan sebagai sumber belajar anak-anak usia dini,  sumber informasi bagi para orang tua dalam membina anak usia dini, dan  sarana rekreasi-edukasi bagi masyrakat. Dengan demikian  taman bacaan masyarakat   dapat berperan  sebagai sarana belajar baik bagi anak-anak usia dini maupun para orang tua anak-anak- terutama ibu rumah tangga muda dalam memperluas pengetahuan merekaAbstractThis activity examines the role of the Community Library (TBM) For Early Childhood In the village NarawitaCicalengka District of Bandung regency. Method or Participatory Rural Appraisal Techniques and data collection through interviews, observation, focus group discussions, and literature study aims to determine the role of these activities bancaan community garden teutama on the tasks and functions of public reading in improving learning skills in early childhood. The results show that the public reading in a village environment Narawita serve as a source of learning early age children, resources for parents in fostering early childhood-education and recreational facilities for the community. Thus the public reading can serve as a learning tool for both kids an early age and the parents children-especially young housewife in expanding their knowledge.
