Jurnal Riset Industri Hasil Hutan (JRIHH) adalah jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Balai Riset dan Standardisasi Industri Banjarbaru. Abstract

Sejak lima tahun terakhir Indonesia mengalami penurunan produksi minyak nasional akibat menurunnya secara alamiah cadangan minyak pada sumur-sumur produksi. Untuk mengantisipasi hal tersebut salah satunya dengan cara memanfaatkan biomassa kayu sebagai sumber energi terbarukan. Sumber energi biomassa mempunyai beberapa kelebihan antara lain merupakan sumber energi yang dapat diperbaharui (renewable) sehingga dapat menyediakan sumber energi secara berkesinambungan (suistainable). Sebagai bahan bakar, biomassa perlu dilakukan pengolahan terlebih dahulu agar dapat lebih mudah dipergunakan yang dikenal sebagai konversi biomassa. Teknologi konversi biomassa tentu saja membutuhkan perbedaan pada alat yang digunakan untuk mengkonversi biomassa dan menghasilkan perbedaan bahan bakar. Beberapa teknologi  konversi biomassa yang bisa diterapkan antara lain :biobriket, gasifikasi, pirolisa, liquifikation, biokimia dan karbonisasi. Metode yang paling baik untuk menghasilkan biomassa kayu adalah teknologi konversi gasifikasi.

Abstract

Timber Acacia mangium (Acacia mangium, Willd) for Furniture. The study aims to determine the mechanical and physical properties and the decorative value (color and fiber) wood of acacia mangium with using finishing materials. This type of finishing material used is ultran lasur natural dof ,ultran lasur classic teak, aqua politur clear dof, aqua politur akasia dan aqua politur cherry. After finishing the wood is stored for 3 months. Test parameters were observed, namely, physical and mechanical properties of wood, adhesion of finishing materials, color and appearance of the fiber, and timber dimensions expansion. The results showed that the mechanical physical properties of acacia wood qualified SNI. 01-0608-89 about the physical and mechanical properties of wood for furniture, air dry the moisture content from 13.78 to 14.89%, flexural strength from 509.25 to 680.50 kg/cm2, and compressive strength parallel to fiber 342.1 - 412.9 kg/cm2. Finishing the treatment process using five types of finishing materials can increase the decorative value (color and fiber) wood. Before finishing the process of acacia mangium wood has the appearance of colors and fibers and less attractive (scale scores 2-3), after finishing acacia wood fibers have the appearance of colors and interesting and very interesting (scale 4-5).Keywords: mangium wood, mechanical properties, decorative value, finishing, furniture.

Abstract

Pencegahan serangan jamur biru pada kayu karet gelondongan di lokasi penebangan, dengan cara pelaburan pada bagian ujung dan pangkal permukaan kayu, menggunakan farmay plus dan koppers formula 7. Kemudian kayu dibiarkan di lokasi penebangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaburan menggunakan farmay plus dalam konsentrasi 0,5 sampai 2% secara teknis cukup efektif untuk mencegah serangan blue stain selama 15 sampai 40 hari.

Abstract

Charcoal was the residue of the decomposition of wood from heating process whereas the chemical component was carbon. One of the charcoal production methods used was a kiln drum with carbonisation mixed system. This research aimed to identify and analyse the quality of teak wood charcoal made by carbonisation mixed system with the addition of sawdust teak using kiln drum method. Teak wood pieced in 5-10 cm diameter were charred by the addition of sawdust (70:30) to maintain the temperature process ranged between 4000C and 4500C. The parameters that were observed were yield, water content, volatile substance content, ash content, bonded carbon content, the percentage of charcoal that retained at 6.35 cm sieve and that passed the 3.18 cm sieve, calorific value, density and color. The results were then analyzed descriptively and been compared to the SNI 01-1683-1989. The yield of teak charcoal in this experiment was 21.3%, while water, volatile substance and ash content were 3.93%, 16.57%, and 3.25%, respectively. The percentage of charcoal retained at 6.35 cm sieve was 88,68%, and the ones passed 3.18 cm sieve was 1, 96%. The charcoal’s bonded carbon content was 80.18%, it’s calorific value was 7141 cal / g; and the color was black.Keywords: carbon, sawdust, carbonization temperatures

Abstract

The rubber seeds (Hevea brasiliensis) can be used because rubber seed contains a high fat or oil contain so that it can be utilized as being edible oil. However, the problem is the presence of Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) toxic compound in the rubber seeds which is so dangerous. Cyanide acid it can be reduces with soaking and boiling process. The purpose of this research were to known quality of rubber seeds. Rubber seeds oil was produced after HCN content was reduced. Mean yield of rubber seeds was 20,13%. Quality testing is done with a few key parameters on which oil fatty acid composition, acid number, peroxide number and iodine number. Total saturated fatty acid content was 14.1% and an unsaturated fatty acid was 85.9%, the mean value of the acid number was 4.19 mgKOH / g, peroxide value MeqO 11.17 / kg and iodine number of 140 g iodine / 100 g. These results indicate that good quality oil for edible oils when compared with the standard.Keywords : rubber seeds, rubber seeds oil, edible oil

Abstract

Bambu  di Indonesia potensinya  sangat menjanjikan untuk dimanfaatkan dengan baik, bambu  merupakan tumbuhan mudah dikembangkan dan mempunyai daur hidup yang relatif cepat, dengan waktu panen hanya 3 – 4 tahun. Bambu merupakan tumbuhan yang  diharapkan dapat dijadikan sebagai  substitusi bahan baku  kayu  komersial,  karena   kayu  komersial semakin tahun  produksinya makin menurun dan harganya yang relatif mahal.  Sedangkan bambu memiliki keunggulan tersendiri dibanding kayu, karena bambu mudah dikembangkan dibanding kayu, ulet, elastisitas yang tinggi, mudah dibentuk dan harganya relatif murah dibanding kayu. Bambu dapat digunakan dengan teknologi sederhana hingga teknologi tinggi,  seperti di Eropah, Amerika dan banyak Negara lainnya. Maksud dan tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah  agar bambu di Indonesia dapat dikembangkan dalam bidang perkebunan, teknologi pengolahan, teknologi proses,  teknologi pengawetan dan lainnya, Secara maksimal dan berkualitas, guna meningkatkan nilai tambah  dan nilai ekonomis  bambu dengan baik.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of herbal raw materials and consumer acceptability to  the instan tea. Celery and  aloe vera leaf have an ability to lower blood pressure. The combination of these two herbs are expected to have a synergistic effect in  this instant tea. The formulation tea showed the appropriate with the  requirements and no difference in taste, color and odor in statistic of the three formulations.Keywords:  formulation, celery, aloe vera

Abstract

The problem faced by purun craftsmen is the reduced of purun raw material which commonly used such as purun danau and purun tikus. Hence it tends to utilized purun bajang which lesser known but potential used as a raw material purun craft. The research aims to obtain the information on the physical and mechanical properties of purun bajang compared with purun tikus and purun danau as substituted of purun tikus and purun danau.The research conclude that purun bajang’s performance is almost same as another commercial purun in terms colour and impression touch, but purun bajang relative slippery than purun tikus and purun danu. Purun bajang can be used as material substitution of commercialized purun tikus and purun danau, but it is noteworthy because of the tensile strength which it have very low tensile strength. Purun bajang can be used as woven material after drying process without any pulverization because it cause increasingly fragile tensile strength.Keywords:  purun, physical properties, mechanical properties

Abstract

The aim to of this research is to know characters physical and mechanical characteristics of coconut wood based on 3 growth places (highland, coast and swamps) and the position of the coconut wood (tip, middle, and base). Besides that, to support the growth and the spreading of wood processing industry in South Borneo. They are two treatment factors that are used, the variation of growth places (highland, coast and swamps) and the variation of wood position (tip, middle, and base). Every combination of the treatments are repeated three times. The best Physical and mechanical characteristics of coconut wood is from highland and in the base part of the wood.
