Abstract

This study aimed to know the effectiveness of active learning in Civic Education course at UMSIDA. This study used Classroom Action Research design with 2 cycles and 4 main activities in each cycle, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The researcher took 36 (3 male and 33 female) second semester students of Primary School Education Department, particularly A2 class, academic year 2015/2016 as the subjects of the study. The results showed that the students’ score got improved 72% in cycle I (26 students) and 86% in cycle 2 (31 students). In short, the implementation of active learning was able to increase the students’ learning outcome in Civic Education course.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) produce a SETS kit that is feasible to the understanding of concept and caring environmental of Elementary School (2) find out the effectiveness of the SETS kit to the understanding of concept and caring environmental. This study is a research and development refering to the opinion of Borg & Gall. The design of learning kits consists of ten steps, including (1) research and information collection; (2) planning; (3) developing preliminary form of draft product; (4) preliminary field testing; (5) main product revision; (6) main field testing; (7) operational product testing; (8) operational field testing; and (9) final product revision; (10) dissemination. Subjects were students of Elementary School 3 Kota Fajar. The results show that the learning kit is effective to understanding of concept and caring environmental of students according to the material expert and learning expert with excellent ratings category. Based on the result show that there are significant differences in understanding of concept and caring environmental of students who take the study with SETS kits with those who do not use learning kits.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know whether applying quantum learning through Bamboomedia BMGames Apps or direct instruction using the book as a media which able to increase early reading skill. This study is under quasi experimental design that involves the first grade students of sixteen Madrasah Ibtidaiah in Kedungadem Residence. In deciding the sample the researcher used simple random sampling technique. The sample of the schools in this study were the first grade student of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah 1 Kedungadem as experimental class and the first grade of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah 27 Geger as control class. Data collection technique used were documentation and test. The result reveals that both of the group have a homogeneity variance (Fhitung = 0,0556 < 2,0879 = Ftabel) than using t test with significant level 0,05 reveals 7,0573 with t0,05;40 = 1,6838. From the t table DK = . tobs DK. Based on the data above, H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that the students taught using quantum learning collaborated with bamboomedia application have skill to read verb, and simple sentence better than the students taught using direct instruction using the book as media.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the effect of parental background education on student learning outcomes, (2) the influence of the level of parental education background with student learning activities. Data collection and documents using 120 questionnaires from students and with descriptive analysis and quantitative techniques. The result of this study also is (1) there is showed significant influence between positive and high parent education background of student learning result with r value 75,5%; (2) there is influence between parent attention with educational background to student learning activity with value r 78.0%.

Abstract

Each process must always include the three main activities of planning, implementation and evaluation. Similarly, what happens with teaching and learning in schools. A teacher is required to do the planning, implementation and evaluation of learning. The process of learning planning that must be done by a teacher includes the following main activities: 1) Making an annual program, 2) Making syllabus, 3) Making semester program 4) Making learning implementation plan 5) And making program of re-evaluation / evaluation. Of the five elements mentioned above, syllabus and RPP is the minimum preparation of a teacher when they want to teach. Based on the results of the analysis in the 2009/2010 academic year in SD Negeri 4 Sumberrejo, the problem of low teachers is making the planning of learning, especially the preparation of syllabus and RPP. To examine the weakness of teacher's performance in that case, research is conducted to see how far the principal supervisor's supervision step can improve teacher competence in syllabus preparation and Learning Implementation Plan.

Abstract

The problem in this research is not all teachers make the development of silabus and plan of learning implementation independently. This study aims to improve the willingness and ability of teachers in making the development of silabus and learning implementation plan (RPP) so that the process of teaching and learning directed learning achievement increases. The data source comes from the instrument delivered to all class V teachers in the Gedangan District, especially in the developed areas II. Analisis data is done by using descriptive and qualitative analysis, then consulted with the success criteria to determine whether collaborative coaching can improve the ability and willingness of teachers in making silabus and RPP. Based on the result of observation of silabus in the first cycle in obtaining the data of the percentage increase of conformity that is on the component of the teaching material from 50% to 75%, the learning activity increased from 25% to 75%, the indicator from 25% to 75%, the assessment type from 50% to 75%. While in the second cycle of RPP preparation there is an increase in terms of determining the existing learning model has increased: from 25% to 75% increase and assessment aspect from 25% to 75% increase, Indicator increased from 25% to 75% learning increased from 50% to 75%, teaching materials from 25% to 75%. Based on the results of data analysis above drawn the conclusion that: Collaborative coaching can improve the ability of teachers in making the development of silabus and learning implementation plan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increased learning motivation of PGSD students of Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo after the implementation of the Quantum Teaching learning model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. Cycle (I) consists of the activities of Planning, Implementation, Observation, and Reflection conducted during two meetings. Likewise with cycle (II), which is done during two meetings. Data collection techniques that are applied are observation techniques, filling out motivation learning questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data processing used is descriptive percentage. The results showed that there was an increase in the average score of the learning motivation of PGSD students of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo University A1 Semester 1 class from a score of 67.9% (cycle I) to 80.1% (cycle II) through the application of the Quantum Teaching learning model. The conclusion of this study is that there is an increase in learning motivation of PGSD students at Muhamamdiyah Sidoarjo University after the implementation of the Quantum Teaching learning model.

Abstract

Previous studies more engaged to the level of technology leadership and the characteristics of technological leadership practiced by leaders in the school, while the factors of a more comprehensive which include facilities for ICT, competence, and commitment of teachers in the practices of applying ICT in the management which contributes a great impact on the management duties of teachers in schools has not been studied in Malaysia. The purpose of this study is to identify whether there is a positive relationship between technology leadership, ICT facilities, competence, commitment and practice of applying ICT teachers with effective management duties of teachers in schools using ICT. This quantitative study involves 370 teachers in secondary schools in the Kedah state which were selected randomly. The findings from the analysis of the study using the smartPLS show that there is a significant relationship between the leadership of technology by principals in school and the effectiveness of teacher-management tasks using computers in management tasks. Leadership that practices high technology leadership features will have a positive impact on the effectiveness of ICT integration within the organization. Further study can be conducted with integrating UTAUT model to identify critical factors that contributing technology leadership in schools.

Abstract

Inaccuracy in the use of the model will cause saturation for students and students to be passive in learning. For that need to design more innovative learning, one of the selected learning model is JOSUA learning model that can increase activity in student learning activities and student learning outcomes. This research uses 4-D development model (Four D) which develops a learning device using JOSUA model. Data analysis in this research is done by using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that, the activities of students during the learning activities show active. Student responses to the JOSUA model (network, observation, simulation, and final repetition) show a good response. And there is an increase in the ability to write and speak students during the implementation of learning learning JOSUA Indonesian language (network, observation, simulation, and final repetition) can be said to increase.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the appropriateness and effectiveness of instructional media I-SCEM (Indonesia Song Culture Education Mobile) as Indonesian local songs recognition media. The method used in this research is quasi experimental design with one group pre-test - post-test pattern. The population is the whole students of Sendangmulyo 04 Semarang Elementary School and the sample is 91 V grade students of Sendangmulyo 04 Semarang Elementary School. The data was collected using test, data analysis with descriptive statistics technique and the measuring analysis with score gain analysis test. The results of material appropriateness and I-SCEM media is categorized as very feasible to be used in instructional purposes. Students’ mean score before using instructional media I-SCEM is 68,7, while after using the media is 78. Score improvement is 9,3 with score gain test is 0.46, it is categorized as medium interpretation. Based on the results of students’ learning and gain test, it can be concluded that using I-SCEM instructional media can improve students’ understanding of Indonesian local songs. Students are expected to be able to learn by themselves using I-SCEM instructional media. This research still needs further development especially in other cultural materials such as local cloths andhouses.
