Abstract

Increased population growth implies the intensive management of agricultural land for food fulfillment. As a result, the use of chemical fertilizers among farmers continues to increase to support this intensive agriculture. UREA, NPK and Super Phosphate Fertilizers are chemical fertilizers that are used by farmers to meet the macro nutrients of plants, especially N, P and K. The problem is that excessive and intensive use of chemical fertilizers turns out to have a negative impact on both agricultural land and accumulated residues in plants which are then consumed by humans. One of the efforts to substitute chemical fertilizers in agricultural land by applying biofertilzer or biofertilzer. Biofertilizers are fertilizers that use the services of microorganisms (bacteria) to meet plant nutrient needs.

Abstract

Animal Erysipelas dan Human Erysipeloid ( a Zoonosis). Erysipelas is a type of zoonosis that may be infects on all continent among many species of domestid and wild mammal and birds. The etiologic agent is E. rhusiopathiae. These agent can multiply in an apparently healthy carrier under stress, and can cause disease and contaminate environment. Abstract

Pemanfaatan nira pohon palem sebagai minuman tradisional beralkohol (palm wine) sudah sangat umum. Palm wine atau minuman beralkohol dari nira palem banyak dikonsumsi di daerah tropik dan di produksi dengan cara fermentasi alami dari hasil penyadapan pohon palem. Di Kabupaten Alor (Nusa Tenggara Timur), pemanfaatan nira sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan minuman tradisional beralkohol (palm wine) menggunakan penambahan bahan tambahan seperti akar Ceguk (Quisqualis indica), Cabai Jawa (Piper retrofractum)¸ dan kulit pohon Menting (Muntingia calabura). Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui sifat sensoris palm wine yang difermentasikan oleh isolat Saccharomyces sp dengan variasi penambahan bahan-bahan tambahan tersebut diatas. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Fermentasi berlangsung selama empat hari dengan sistem batch culture menggunakan tambahan akar cabai jawa (A), ceguk (B) dan kulit pohon menting (C). Penelitian berlangsung dengan menggunakan enam perlakuan penambahan bahan tambahan dengan perbandingan 1:1 yaitu 5%AB, 7,5%AB, 5%AC, 7,5%AC, 5%BC, 7,5%BC. Pengamatan sifat sensoris palm wine dilakukan pada hari ke empat setelah fermentasi. Pengujian sifat sensoris meliputi rasa, aroma, warna dan kesukaan dengan menggunakan uji kesukaan (hedonik) menggunakan sebanyak 25 orang panelis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa minuman fermentasi nira aren yang dihasilkan dengan pemberian akar Ceguk (Quisqualis indica) dan kulit pohon Menting (Muntingia calabura) sebanyak 7,5% dan 5% memiliki aroma yang lebih baik dan paling disukai.Keyword : sifat sensoris, palm wine, cabai jawa, ceguk, menting

Abstract

Effect of Benzoic Acid Supplement to Storage and Quality of Syrup of Jambu Mete. The research was executed at laboratory of THP Politani Negeri Kupang, from August to November 2006. This research aimed to carry out influence of benzoic acid supplement to quality of syrup jambu tee during storage. This research used completely randomized design (RAL). The treatments studied were concentration of benzoic acid by 5 levels, that is 0 mg/liter syrup (control), 200 magnesium /liter syrup, 400 mg/liter syrup, 600 mg/liter syrup and 800 mg/liter syrup. Variables observed covered number of microbe colonies, sour total and test hedonic, what observed from 0 month of until 2 month of storage. Statistical analysis showed that concentration of benzoic acid significantly affected to quality of syrup jambu mete during storage. benzoic acid concentration of 600 mg/liter syrup performed best quality of syrup (safe to be consumed) compared to other treatments.Key word: Natrium benzoate, storage, quality syrup, jambu mete.

Abstract

The Increasing of beef consumption in Kupang City, shows that there is an increase in people's need for animal protein. However, high meat consumption can also be a threat to health if contaminated by microorganisms.This study aims to calculate the amount of microbial contamination in beef samples taken from Kupang City Slaughterhouse. 30 longissimus dorsi muscle samples were taken from RPH and taken to the Kupang City Veterinary Engineering Unit to be examined using the Total PlateCaount Test (TPC), then the bacterial colonies were calculated using a colony counter.The results of the TPC analysis show that 63.33% of the samples have TPC values that are above the normal standard, while only 36.67% are at normal values.

Abstract

Overcoming food problems, it is necessary to have a break through to increase the productivity of rice plants by utilizing the available paddy fields through emphasizing the application of technological innovations in the Integrated Crop Management approach. In the application of technological innovation, the Integrated Crop Management approach is not only carried out using varieties but must be followed by correct cultivation techniques following the recommendations for the application of technology. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) method with the results of the age of 15 DAS had a very significant effect on the treatment of varieties, while the age of 35.45 DAS and the increase in tillers aged 25 DAS had an interaction. Thus, the number of perforated seeds did not have a significant effect on the growth and yield of rice plants. Keywords: Variety, Number of Seeds, Rice

Abstract

SoE Keprok Orange Farming Scale At District Mollo North Regency Timor Tengah Selatan. Elegibility aspect of farming according to scale ownership of till now has not got attention in research, though the aspect so important to be analysed, because through feasibility analysis farming according to knowable ownership scale of cleanness acceptance receiving, investment rate of return and ratio benefit-cost and level of elegibility of investment in each scale ownership of farmingPurpose of this research is description to image of investment, expense and acceptance receiving farming, according to scale ownership and analyse level of elegibility of farming according to ownership scale.Result of  research indicates that evaluated from criterion NPV and B/C Ratio, farming  Jeruk  Keprok  SoE,  good  of  small  scale,  competent  big  and  middle financially. Abstract

Land degradation in the western Amarasi causes direct and indirect losses to agricultural land and economic activities of the communities. This study objectivesof this study are to identify the causal factors associated with disaster-prone landslides and to map the vulnerability level of landslides inthe area. In doing so, we require rapid and accurate identification and mapping of the overall disaster location. The Arc View GIS (Geographic Information System) was used to identify the leading causes of landslides, vulnerable areas classification, map digitalization processes, and carry out overlay. The results show that the physical parameters of the causes of landslide-prone areas in the western Amarasi region are rainfall, soil type, slope, and land use. The level of a medium vulnerable landslide is around 9,095.99 ha (55.76%), and not prone around 7,216.94 ha (44.24%) of the total area in western Amarasi.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of different supporting ingredients on the creaming method in making cookies on the panelists sensory acceptance. The different variations of material, that P1 = all ingredients with VCO as a substitute for butter, and without egg; P2 = all ingredients with eggs and VCO ; P3 = all ingredients with butter and eggs; P4 = all ingredients with butter and without eggs. Parameters of sensory reception that the level of preference for color, texture, taste, smell. The results showed that the highest value was in P1 and P4 with a preference for color 4.00 and 3.59, texture 4.12 and 4.18, taste 4.47 and 3.59, smell 3.94 and 3.47. Treatment of P4 has fulfilled of the standard physical test criteria of cookies, that is specific smell of cookies, sweet taste, specific color based on the added coloring agent, crunchy texture and not easy to crumble.Key Words:  Acceptance, sensory, cookies, composit flour

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to determine the revenue, income and efficiency of rice farming using vegetable pesticides and synthetic pesticides of IPDMIP program in Sentebang Village, Jawai District, Sambas Regency. Determination of respondents is done by simple random sampling method. The analysis used in this study is acceptance, income and efficiency. There is a difference between the income of farming using vegetable pesticides and chemical pesticides. There is a cost efficiency in the use of botanical pesticides compared to chemical pesticides with an average difference of IDR 3,534,600,-/Ha, and an average difference of IDR 1,623,506,-/Ha. The RC data is 1,182 for vegetable pesticides and 1,340 for synthetic pesticides, so it can be interpreted that if the R/C is more than one (R/C > 1), then the farming is profitable and feasible to cultivate. Key word: Business analysis, revenue, income
