Abstract

Application of LOFs with different fermentation duration determined the LOFs quality and expected to affect the growth and yield of plants.  This study aimed to determine the effect of LOF (tofu liquid waste and Gamal leaves) fermentation duration on the growth and yield of spinach. This research used a Randomized Block Design with 6 fermentation duration treatments (5; 10; 15; 20; 25; and 30 days) and 4 replications. The data were analyzed for variance and would be continued with the 5% BNJ test if there was a significant effect. The results showed that the best LOFs fermentation duration was 20 days was. it was shown the highest spinach plants 16.75 cm at 14 days after planting (DAP) and 55.38 cm at 23 DAP; the highest number of leaves was 28.88 at 14 DAP and 70.13 at 23 DAP; plant fresh weight 296.65 g; the dry weight 30.31 g. Keywords: Liquid Organic Fertilizer, tofu waste, gamal, spinach, fermentation time

Abstract

The agricultural sector is the leading sector in the economy of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in terms of its contribution to labor absorption. The large number of NTT people working in the agricultural sector indirectly shows that the economic development of the region also depends on contributions from the agricultural sector. The research aims to analyze the impact of the multiplier of superior commodities on the economy. The secondary data used in this study, namely the NTT Input-Output Table in 2020 obtained from the update of the NTT Input-Output Table in 2017 using the RAS method. The results showed that coffee commodities, livestock commodities, and poultry commodities and the results were categorized as superior commodities because they had a great impact on the formation of output as well as the welfare and absorption of labor in the NTT economy.Keywords: Commodities, Sector, Agriculture, Economy

Abstract

 African swine fever or also known as African Swine Fever (ASF) is a serious viral disease in domestic pigs and wild boars and is highly contagious which causes disease in pigs, generally characterized by high fever, hemorrhages, ataxia, and severe depression. African swine fever virus is a major threat to pig production as it has mortality rates approaching 100%. By early 2018, ASF had spread throughout China, Mongolia, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea. The disease is spread through direct contact with infected animals or their body fluids or indirectly through contaminated vehicles, equipment or food containing meat from infected pigs. Several risk factors have contributed to the introduction and transmission of the disease into farmers/countries including biosecurity practices, animal movements, and husbandry practices. The disease has caused huge direct and indirect economic losses around the world. Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of adding adsorbents and cultur bacteria in feces to characteristic of chicken excreta. For each treatment-replication, 150 g of fecal material were collected from the poultry farm and placed in beaker glass. The fecal sample was then treated with 8% activated nature zeolite, 8% carbon active, and 8% bacterial culture Effective Microorganism-4TM and covered with plastic wraps. The temperature and pH were measured after one hour of standing (0 d) and repeated at 48 h intervals for 8 days. Moisture content were measured after one hour of standing (0 d) and 192 hour after incubation. Results indicated that adsorbents with 8% activated nature zeolite, carbon active, and culture bacteria each can reduced the moisture content. The adsorbents had no significant effect on pH and temperature of fecal broilers.Key words:  Adsorbents, fecal material, moisture, pH, temperature

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of various concentrations of POC Bio-Inoculum Plus on the yield of “Rote” Shallots. The design used was a Randomized Block Design (RAK). The treatment tested was the concentration of POC Bio-Inoculum which consisted of 6 levels which were: without POC 0 ml/l water, 2.5 ml/l, 5 ml/l, 7.5 ml/l, 10 ml/l and 12.5 ml/l. Based on the observations that (1) The concentration of POC Bio-Inoculum Plus affected the number of tillers, number of tubers, plant wet weight, dry weight of shallots, (2) Treatment of POC Bio-Inoculum Plus concentration of 7.5 ml/l gave the best effect on the number of tubers per clump (8.55 bulbs), fresh weight of bulbs per clump (40.25 g), fresh weight of bulbs per plot (1.168 g), dry weight of bulbs per clump (38.45 g), and dry tubers per plot (903.25 g).Keywords: Shallots, Rote Cultivars, Concentration, POC Bio-Inoculum Plus

Abstract

The risk of agricultural production is greater than the risk of non-agriculture, because agriculture is strongly influenced by nature such as weather, pests and diseases. The research sample used the Slovin formula so that the number of samples was 44 tomato farmers. This study aims to determine the risk of tomato farming in the rainy season in Alimmebung Village, Alor Tengah Utara District, Alor Regency. The data obtained were analyzed using the formula of variance or standard deviation and the Coefficient of Variation. Tomato cultivation in Alimmebung Village is planted in two seasons, namely the dry season and the rainy season. In the rainy season there are many risks, one of which is the risk of income due to high soil moisture, causing pests and diseases to plants. Judging from the existing CV which is 0.03 then (0.5) so that tomato farmers in Alimmebung Village do not experience losses when planting tomatoes in the rainy season.Key Words : Tomato.Coefficient of Variation, Alimmebung

Abstract

 Santalum album L. is endemic plant and has economic valeu for East Nusa Tenggara. The Populatian is decreasing. And it must be done by taking the best seeds from the field. The research was conducted in Kupang Regency, for 6 months. The technigue used in this study was a factorial randomized block design with 3 replications. The first factor is groundwater absorption (CO); (C1); (C3); (C3); (C4) factor of both Alfisol and Vertisol soils. The results showed that two days of absorption (C2) on Vertisol soil and one day of absorption (C1) on Alfisol produced the best sandalwood in terms of hautorium number, plant height, stem diameter, leaf weight, compared to other nipples, it is recommended to use two days of absorption C2) on Vertisol soil and one day of absorption (C1) on Alfisol because the seeds are in polybag.Keywords: sandalwood, absorption, alfisol and vertisol soil

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of even distribution and the level of equity of clove farmers' income in Otvai Village, Northwest Alor District, based on the Gini Ratio. Collecting data using survey methods and questionnaires. The focus of the data is on mapping the total income and household income of clove farmers. Data were analyzed by income distribution analysis. The results showed that clove farmers in Otvai village spent a total cost of Rp. 925,939 per harvest, with a total revenue Rp. 5,327,727 per farmer from a total production of 115.71 kg. Thus, the income of each clove farmer reaches Rp. 4,401,788. Based on the mapping and distribution analysis, the income of clove farmers in Otvai village is classified as low evenness level (GC 0.5), where 40% of farm households have clove income < Rp. 1,320,536.Keywords: Evenness level, Clove, Otvai

Abstract

 To increase catfish productivity, the Directorate General of Aquaculture continues to innovate and develop technology that results in a more efficient catfish enlargement system. The purpose of this study is to find out the most efficient and economically feasible sangkuriang catfish enlargement system between biofloc and conventional systems. From the results of water quality measurements of temperatures of 25-27oC, pH 7, DO 1.2 – 2.2, FCR 0.9 and 1.1 are still in the good range. From the financial analysis of the biofloc system the value of RC-Ratio: 1.1 while the conventional system RC Ratio: 1.03. The harvest life of the biofloc system is 80 days and the conventional system is 100 days. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the enlargement of sangkuriang catfish using a biofloc system is more economical in terms of cost and time.  Keywords: catfish, biofloc, conventional, enlargement
