Abstract

The production process can run if the required production factor requirements have been met. Factors of production are inputs and are an absolute thing because the production process to produce a product requires a certain number of factors of production. The production process demands to be the ability to analyze and combine various factors of production to produce a certain number of products as efficiently as possible. The risk of agricultural production is greater than the risk of non-agriculture because agriculture is strongly influenced by nature such as weather, pests and diseases, temperature, drought, and flooding. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the production of rainfed lowland rice farming and to analyze the production risks of rainfed lowland rice farming. The research locations were chosen purposively, namely Pangkep Regency and Maros Regency. The total population of the study was 1,034 people, while the number of samples of farmers who were used as respondents was 100 people. To get the number of samples used the multi-stage cluster random sampling technique. The data analysis method used was multiple linear regression analysis and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that land area, number of seeds, amount of urea fertilizer, and amount of pesticides affected the production of rainfed lowland rice farming. The production risk of rainfed lowland rice farming in Maros and Pangkep regencies is risky. Maros Regency is greater than that Pangkep Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the purchasing decisions of coffee consumers at the coffee shop, to analyze the factors that influence consumer behavior in buying coffee at the coffee shop. This research was conducted using a survey method. The sampling method in this study was carried out using the Non-Probability Sampling method, namely convenience sampling. The analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis using PLS Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of the analysis show that of the five variables namely atmosphere, price, service quality, product quality, and environment, only the price variable influences the decision to buy coffee in a coffee shop with P-values of 0.013 (<0.05). Among the three variables, namely service quality, customer satisfaction and product quality, only customer satisfaction has an effect on consumer loyalty, with P-values of 0.000 (<0.05). Meanwhile, only the service quality variable has a significant effect on customer satisfaction with a P-value of 0.000 (<0.05).

Abstract

Cocoa is one of the important commodities in the plantation industry which is marketed in international trade, one form of international trade is export. Indonesia's cocoa export destination countries are Malaysia, America, India, China, the Netherlands, Germany, and Australia. Export activities are usually influenced by the country's economic conditions, so that the global crises in 1998, 2008, 2011, and 2020 are thought to have affected Indonesia's cocoa exports. This study uses a gravity model approach to examine the impact of the crisis on cocoa export value. The variables used in this study are the value of Indonesia's cocoa exports (EXVAL) and GDP per capita (GDPCAP), the exchange rate of the destination country's currency against the US dollar (ER), and economic distance as the dependent variable. (ECODIST) and crisis (CRISIS) as the independent variable. The emergency variable is used as a dummy variable. The results of the analysis of the gravity regression model show that all independent variables are significantly based on the t-test with the coefficient values of GDPCAP, ER, ECODIST, and CRISIS of 2.10, 2.28, –0.71, and 0.28 with an R2 value of 82%. . The crisis variable has a positive effect on the value of Indonesia's cocoa exports, so that the crisis does not weaken the development of Indonesia's cocoa exports.

Abstract

The price of buffalo in Mamasa Regency is determined by several unique physical criteria compared to other livestock. Each criterion has a different value when compared to one another, this is very closely related to the socio-cultural system of the Mamasa people. This study aims to describe the perceptions of traders and farmers on several price criteria for buffalo in Mamasa Regency, specifically performance criteria, skin and buffalo horn in price setting. The benefit of knowing this is that there is a quantitative and rational basis in the process of buying and selling buffalo, so that all parties can understand and transparancy. This research approach was mostly carried out quantitatively descriptively by assessing pairwise comparisons through questionnaires. The data was collected in Mamasa District, Mamasa Regency, West Sulawesi in June-July 2022. Based on the results of the data analysis, the highest criterion was buffalo performance, while the second and third respectively were buffalo skin and horn assessment. As for the comparison process, based on the criteria derived from the skin, the priority is skin color compared to hair swirls. Furthermore, the comparison of the horn derivative criteria that is more prioritized is the length of the horn compared to the type or shape of the horn.

Abstract

Agricultural development in Indonesia is very influential in increasing the selling value of production and business opportunities for farmers originating from several agricultural sub-sectors. One of them is the food crops and horticulture sub-sector. This condition motivates farmers to use land effectively in improving farming in a sustainable manner. The purpose of this research is to describe the motivation of watercress farmers in Popnam Village, TTU Regency. The data collection process uses a survey method of farmers first in order to find out the initial conditions. This study used a mix method approach, namely quantitative data were obtained using Likert scale measurements while qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews to explore intrinsic and extrinsic motivation data on farmers. The results of the study explain that intrinsic factor is in the high category with a percentage of 84%. Efforts to meet food needs, build a decent place to live, support each other and work together are very important in the development of farming. The safety and appreciation factors that farmers have strengthens their inner motivation for sustainable farming development. Furthermore, the extrinsic factor is in the high category with a percentage value of 82%. This is seen from the price, market reach, and technology which has a high category. Even though government policies are less effective in terms of attention to farmers, the relationship between farmers is quite close as a family unit in building economic solidarity.

Abstract

The cultivation of typical non-irrigated rice fields in the North Central Timor Regency has not been able to provide satisfactory performance for non-irrigated rice field farmers. This research was conducted to examine the factors that influence business behavior and their impact on the performance of non-irrigated lowland rice farming in the North Central Timor District. This study uses 100 samples. Samples were selected randomly using a simple random sampling method. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it shows that the characteristics of farmers do not affect entrepreneurial behavior. Characteristics of non-irrigated lowland rice farmers that do not affect entrepreneurial behavior are related to low farmer motivation. Many local farmers do business to continue the family business. Only a small portion of farmers aspire to entrepreneurship on this farm. On average, local farmers have high enough confidence in the success of their businesses. With a low level of motivation, and many farmers with a low level of education, all these factors do not affect entrepreneurial behavior. The business environment has a significant effect on entrepreneurial behavior. The coefficient of the business environment variable has a positive sign of 0.670 meaning that an increase in a more conducive business environment means that entrepreneurial behavior is increasing or good. The construct variable with the largest outer loading is the ease of obtaining production facilities. The average farmer's perception of the ease of production facilities is in the sufficient category. This means that not all farmers can access production inputs easily. For seeds, local farmers have been able to provide them independently.
