Abstract

One criticism to Learning of Islamic Culture History (SKI) in Madrasah / School is memorization (rote) stigma. This criticism is quite reasonable, because in practical terms Islam Cultural History as a subject is often taught in informative or just in rote. One fact is reflected in the allotment of instructional time in the curriculum of 1994, for example, only one lesson hour. Medium scope and sequence of material is very wide and deep. This article aims to eliminate the stigma by finding Learning Value of Cultural History of Islam in the grand design SKI Content Standards in the madrasa curriculum of 1994, 2004, 2006, 2008 (specially PAI and Arabic Madrasa) and 2013. In order to be found on the basis of their human values, namely Islam, as a religion, then traced to the values of Islam to the Islamic Cultural History Value and finally to the Value of Learning History Islamic Cultural embodied in four categories, namely material value, formal value, functional value, and essential values.

Abstract

Islam religion has been taught to the students since they are in junior high school, but the juvenile delinquency still often happens. Based on M. Amien Rais, social tawhid is needed to be solution of the problem above. Budi Mulia Dua Yogyakarta International Senior High School is one of many schools that is built by M. Amien Rais which has been doing the implementation of the social tauchid concept. Based on M. Amien Rais, social tawhid means a social dimension from tauhīdullāh (to a knowledge the oneness of God). The implementation of the social tawhid concept of M. Amien Rais in Budi Mulia Dua Yogyakarta International Senior High School could be seen from the arrangement of the perspective an the mission of the school. Then it is applied in extracurricular activity and is evaluated by meeting session. Some of the extracurriculars that apply the social tawhid mission are social volunteer, the distribution of Qurban’s meat, tithe institute and flea market.

Abstract

This study aimed to get an overview of the religious spirituality potential of Islamic Studies teacher in South Garut region, West Java Province. This research used survey method with questionnaires as the instrument for collecting primary data. Respondents in this research amounted to 130 Islamic Studies teachers in South Garut region, West Java Province. Based on result of this research, found that the description of religious spirituality potential of Islamic Studies teachers SouthGarut, West Java Provinceis generallyconsidered good. As for the details, as follows: (1) the belief dimensions in the excellent category, (2) the worship dimensions in good category, (3) the intellection dimensions in good category, (4) the moral dimensions in good categories. And (5) the physical dimension in good categories.

Abstract

Islam requires his people to be literate and educated people. Expected educated person in today’s global era will be increased, while those who are not educated will be reduced in accordance with present era. Islamic education guides students in their development, both physical and spiritual to form honorable personality and character. And will become moral beings in the future in accordance with the noble values of our nation. Islamic educational purposes according to the Qur’an include (1) describes the position of learners as human beings between God and responsibilities in this life, (2) explaining to do as social beings and responsibilities in order of social life, (3) explain the relationship of man the nature and duty to know the wisdom of creation by way of prosperity of the universe, (4) to explain its relationship with God as the creator of the universe.

Abstract

This study aims to assess parenting single parents in educating their children: parenting as what is given single parents in teaching religion to their children; what about the psychological impact of children treated as such. Subjects in this study were single parents whether caused due to divorce or death, as many as nine people consisting of three men and six women. The instrument of data collection using the questionnaire and observation sheet. Interviews were conducted to determine the type of parenting that given by single parents and observations conducted to observe the religious activities of children in following the activities of the landfill.The result showed that the majority (80%) of single parents using authoritarian parenting that emphasis on strict discipline without compromise, did not give a clear understanding in giving punishment to the child if the child makes a mistake, and often usea rough tone. The effect on children is that they often follow the activities of TPA (departing from the house to the landfill), but upon arrival at the landfill sometimes of them just playing around anyway (not the Koran), the children reasoned important he left home just for fun parents. They are not happy with the conditions at home because parents often scold even give physical punishment if they disobey his father or mother.

Abstract

This study aims to describe self-regulated learning of students at the same time examine the relationship between self-regulated learning with student motivation in choosing majors. Subjects in this study were students majoring in Arabic Education (PBA) Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching UIN Sunan Kalijaga both men and women as many as 100 people. Interviews and scale self-regulated learning is used as an instrument in data collection.The results show: first, self-regulated learning of students as a whole are in the medium category (62%) with the highest aspect is the aspect of self-motivation (average value 20.43). Secondly, there is a significant positive relationship between self-regulated learning and motivation in choosing majors (r = 0.876 and p = 0. 004).

Abstract

The main objective in the recruitment process in schools is getting human resources or educators (teacher) is appropriate for a particular position so that the person is able to work optimally and can survive in school for a long time. Implementation of recruitment is a very important task, crucial and requires a great responsibility. This is because the quality of human resources that will be used schools rely heavily on recruitment and selection procedures were carried out. Based on interviews and observations made, it can be analyzed that the implementation of teacher recruitment aims to get teachers who are professional and have the best qualifications. Recruitment of new teachers is not held every year since in accordance with the needs of the school if there are vacant positions then held recruiting new teachers to fill positions corresponding field. Before conducting the necessary preparation for the recruitment of new teachers, new teacher recruitment preparation should be done so through the recruitment of school can obtain a good teacher management in order to improve the quality of school-based education.

Abstract

This study was aimed to describe (1) character values of fairy tales, (2) the presentation of tales by the teacher, and (3) character values that affect daily life of the students. This was a naturalistic qualitative study. Data collection was done through observation, interviews, and documents. The results of this study show the following. (1) Character education that appears in fairy tales is religious values, honesty, discipline, hard working, creative, independence, curiosity, taking pleasure in reading, responsibility, tolerance, democracy, love of peace, communicativeness, awareness of environment and society. (2) The presentation of the fairy tale is by reading the fairy tales from a book, directly telling stories without props, and telling stories with props. The style of telling story with the sounds of figures, inserting chant in fairy tale, and ending by Al Quran, Hadis, or Arab proverb. (3) Character values that affect in dialy life of student are religious values, honest, discipline, hard working, independence, curiosity, responsibility, love of peace, communicativeness, awareness of environment and society.

Abstract

The problems of the present and future perspectives change IAIN Sunan Kalijaga be UIN will undoubtedly bring new problems, namely how to formulate the curriculum and implementation of education. In the global scale of the problem is always related to the issue of “ten educational issues of the future” as a result of changes in the field of science and technology, economic and demographic, social, cultural, and religious. By way of putting this issue will be developed research that questioned whether functionally-paedagogis UIN could produce improved inter-generational and intra-generational Muslim personality, the ability of science, technology and art, as well as spirited interpreneurship (skills for independent living).Religion and character education seems to be the cornerstone of this program of education and the learning process in UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Changes that occur in the real UIN Sunan Kalijaga is a change in the college of the Institute into a university. The changes are made to declare a new paradigm and conducted a study of the religious sciences and general sciences, ie interconnect integration paradigm. This paradigm requires the effort to dialoging openly and intensive educational development Qur’anic perspective, the program and the whole educational process between the study of Scripture (hadlarah an-nas), scholarly study (hadlarah al-ilm), and are concerned with the territory implementation, real praxis in reality and ethics (hadlarah al-falsafah).

Abstract

The study at (1) developing the software of computer-assisted instruction (CAI) of Eductional Science Cource as one of the alternatives of learning source and teaching media, useable to solve students learning problems, especially those of limited learning source, and to achieve student effectiveness, efficiency and interest and (2) revealing its feasibility to be implemented.The number of respondent involved in all phases of this study was 44 consisting of 2expert of non Educational Science course, 2 lecturers of Educational Science Cource, 3 individually learning students, 8 lecturers of small grup learning and 29 studentt of large group learning. The data collected in this study included the accuracy of the design and media, effectiveness of contents of teaching, effectiveness of teaching material and revies by 2 experts of non-Educational Science cource and 2 lecturers of Educatioal Science Cource, questionnaires for student and participant observation. The data ware analyzed using the descriptive qualitative technique.The findings showed that the software developed for the CAI of Educational Science Cource conform to the syllabi of Educational Science Cource and thereforce it could be used as teaching media. CAI is an effective strategy for teching objectives attainment; it is a strategy which is very efficient relative to the shortage instructors, time allocation, and learning resources. As part of teaching strategies, CAI is very attractive.
