Abstract

Abstract

Gaps in the farming development have caused the damage to land because of erosion and sedimentation. Utilization of and on the river outskirts and a steep hill without conservation principle, has led to soil damage that is difficult to be restored again. The use of production facilities in the form of chemicals such as fertilizers, pest, diseases and weeds eradications, in the form of pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides are not appropriate, cause adverse side effect to the crops, farmers and environment. Similarly, use of eradications that pollute the waters around the plantation and it is harmful to humans, fish and livestock. Admission of environmental dimension, such as natural resources depletion and environmental degradation, in conventional GDP calculation requires modeling of Green GDP. In the modeling of Green GDP, natural resources depletion and degradation are subjects of numerous recounts. Time series data of 2006-2008 were used in analysis. Accroding to conventional GDP calculation from 2006-2008, there was declination of agricultural sector’s contribution in GDP . agricultural sector’s contribution in Jayapura regency based on 2006 was up to 40,16 percent, 37,97 ercent in 2007, and 35,8 percent in 2008. The degradation value of natural resources were much greater than their depletion value. However according to Green GDP calculation, agricultural sector’s contribution of 2006-2008 in Jayapura regency were in state of inclination. Based on GDP data of Jayapura regency, in 2006 the contribution inclined up to 181.791,46 milion Rupiah (45,43 percent), 153.495,13 milion Rupiah (34,98 percent) in 2007, and 176.664,89 milion Rupiah (36,96%) in 2008. Commitment to admit environmental dimensions as an important aspect in developmental planning is key to succesfull model of Green GDP and environmental plicy in general. DAS conservation, reforestation, and activism of those kind need to be promoted in order to reduce environmental degradation.

Abstract

The total factor productivity became an interesting concept in the measurement of productivity growth. Productivity is a ratio of output to input. The most common measurement of productivity is single factor productivity or partial productivity such as of land, labor, or capital.A total (factor) productivity is a productivity of all factors of production where the factors are aggregated. In cross-sectional studies this total productivity is a ratio of actual to potential output where the potential output is estimated from ther frontier production function. One of the methods to estimate this frontier function is by using linear programming technique. The total productivity does not always coincide with a single factor productivity of land (yield), that in the study area the larger farms tend to have higher total productivity than yield

Abstract

This study has the purpose to explain the meaning of business actors in the development of local food in West Lombok and explain the meaning of busines actors towards the involvement of primary and secondary stakeholders in the development of local food in West Lombok. This study used a qualitative method with phenomenological approach. Selection of a method purposive. Selection of informants using methods purposive ie businesses which process local food derived from terrestrial plant. The results showed that the meaning of efforts in the development of local food is positive as it can be an additional source of income for families, create jobs and expand social networks, but variations in the types of processed and flavor is still less diverse and less than optimal marketing. Primary and secondary stakeholders involved in the development of local food by providing assistance and motivation to constantly improve the quality and quantity of processed food products locally as well as marketing. But some stakeholders are not optimal involvement in the development of local food. The lack of optimization due to a lack of common ground between the businessmen and the stakeholders as well as between the stakeholders. Looking forward there are organizations that can coordinate and stakeholder businesses so that they can equate the views related to the development of local food and stakeholders can engage with the optimal local food  development becomes more leverage.

Abstract

Poverty and inequality have become challenges for most developing countries in the world. Large number of the poor are concentrated in the rural area, and mostly are farmer. The objectives of the study were to identify the poverty occurrence in the rural Bojonegoro and, to analyze the income inequality among them. This research was conducted in rural areas in Bojonegoro Regency, and there were 60 rural households interviewed. The FGT index (Headcount index, Poverty Gap index and Poverty Severity index) and the Criterions of BPS, World Bank, and Asian Development Bank were introduced to identify the poverty occurred in the rural area. Meanwhile, the Gini index and Lorentz curve were employed to measure the income inequality among those households. The result shows that the level of poverty in rural Bojonegoro considered to be quite high (based on the criterions of World Bank and Asian Development Bank), on the contrary, based on BPS criteria, the poverty level is fairly low. The ‘depth of poverty’ score measured by the FGT index is 0.05, meanwhile the ‘severity of poverty’ score is 0.02. Furthermore, the income is distributed unequally among the rural households showed by the Gini index of 0.459.
