Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mekanisme rancangan alat yang digunakan untuk membantu proses pengeringan padi serta mengetahui seberapa besar minat petani terhadap alat pengering padi tenaga surya berbasis IoT. Kegunaan penelitian ini memberi gambaran kepada masyarakat tentang keunggulan dan kelemahan rancangan alat pengering padi serta memberi informasi tentang ketepatan penggunaan sistem pada rancangan bahan pengering padi ini. Materi yang digunakan adalah masing-masing padi dengan kapasitas sekitar berisi 5 kwintal padi dengan mengunakan rancangan bangun menggunakan sistem IoT. Data primer menggunakan kuisioner kepada petani yang mempunyai lahan persawahan di kecamatan Megaluh dan Kecamatan Tembelang kabupaten Jombang masing-masing 10 petani. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Studi Kasus dan review artikel. Penelitian yang dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini ditabulasi dengan menggunakan analisa deskriptif dan diuji menggunakan analisa ragam dua arah pola tersarang. Hasil peneletian menunjukan bahwa proses pengeringan padi dengan menggunakan alat IoT berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kualitas panen, bobot panen, serta harga jual padi. Performans Rancangan alat dengan menggunakan system IoT lebih baik dibandingkan dengan proses pengeringan padi secara biasa maupun dengan bantuan alat pengering padi lainnya. Daya jual yang didapatkan lebih tinggi menggunakan alat berbasis IoT dari pada padi yang dikeringkan dengan bantuan sinar matahari atau manual. Kata Kunci : Petani Padi, Sistem IoT, Panel surya, Padi

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the box type potato storage aeration system in terms of changes in temperature and RH of the air during storage. Research on a box type aeration system for potato storage was carried out by measuring the temperature and RH of the incoming air, the temperature and the RH of the outgoing air during storage of potatoes for 21 days. In addition, calculating the heat of respiration, heat to increase the temperature of potatoes, heat to evaporate water and heat lost to the environment using a simple mathematical model approach. The results showed that the temperature and RH of the room and the incoming air flow tended to form a linear pattern, while the RH of the process room and the outgoing air flow tended to form a polynomial pattern. The temperature of the potato storage room was in the range of 24.07-25.70oC and the RH was in the range of 56.0-65.6%. The heat value of respiration varied between 261.42 - 311.88 k.Joule/kg potato tubers, because the storage temperature was 24.07-25.70oC. The heat generated by the respiration process used to evaporate water from the potato tubers to the environment is 6.01±0.3% on average, the average heat to raise the temperature of the potato tubers and the air temperature around the potato is 24.08±1, 3%, and the average heat loss to the environment with the flowing air is 59.89±3.4%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) evaluate the distribution of total N and the distribution of heavy metals Cu and Zn in paddy fields in the Cikijing River Irrigation Area, Rancaekek District, 2) the amount of total N and the distribution of heavy metals Cu and Zn in paddy fields in the Cikijing River Irrigation Area, Rancaekek District. The experiment was conducted in paddy fields contaminated with factory waste in the Cikijing River Watershed, Rancaekek District and followed with the analysis of the soil at the Laboratory of Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University. The experiment was conducted in February 2017 to November 2017. The determination of sample points is based on Homogeneous Soil Map Unit (SLH), which is made by overlay map on the map of soil types, slope maps and land use maps of research areas. The number of samples is 8, which is located on the 5 villages. The variables observed and measured in this study included total N and heavy metals Cu and Zn. The results showed that the total N in the research area was low and moderate, but at some location points there was a very low N content, while heavy metal Cu at several locations was above the quality standard and heavy metal Zn was above the quality standard.

Abstract

Mentha spicata L. or commonly known as spearmint is an herbaceous plant that has many benefits in this pandemic period, but land limitations that become a production problem can be overcome with the use of hydroponics wick system. This study aims to get the best combination treatment of AB Mix nutrients and planting media to the production of mint plant stems (Mentha spicata L.) in hydroponic wick systems. The research was conducted at the screen house of SMKN Pertanian Karawang, East Karawang Subdistrict, Karawang Regency in June to July 2021. The research method used is an experimental method with a randomized design group (RAK) of single factors consisting of 12 treatments with 3 repeats. The data is analyzed with a variety analysis and if the 5% F test shows a real different result, then continued with the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) test at the level of 5%. Paramater observed included plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), wet weight of plants (grams), and plant growth rate (cm/week). The results showed that there was a noticeable influence on the observation parameters of plant height aged 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 MST, the number of leaves aged 5 and 6 MST, wet weight of plants, wet weight of plants without roots and plant growth rate.

Abstract

Bunga telang memiliki banyak khasiat salah satunya mengandung antosianin yang berfungsi sebagai antioksidan dan pigmen. Kelemahan pemanfaatan bunga telang pada pigmen antosianin bersifat kurang stabil. Antosianin lebih stabil dalam larutan asam dibandingkan larutan basa. Penambahan jeruk nipis yang kaya asam sitrat diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keasaman pH bunga telang (pH 5) karena jeruk nipis memiliki pH 2,48-2,5. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan jeruk nipis terhadap karakteristik minuman bunga telang dan menentukan penambahan jeruk nipis yang tepat untuk menghasilkan minuman bunga telang dengan karakteristik terbaik. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan penambahan jeruk nipis yang terdiri dari 6 level yaitu: 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan apabila perlakuan berpengaruh terhadap variabel yang diamati maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan jeruk nipis berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap pH, kadar vitamin C, total antosianin dan aktivitas antioksidan. Penambahan jeruk nipis 5% merupakan hasil terbaik dalam menghasilkan minuman bunga telang, dengan karakteristik pH 4,81, kadar vitamin C 5,47%, total antosianin 2,19 mg/g dan aktivitas antioksidan 45,60%. Penambahan asam sitrat berpotensi meningkatkan stabilitas antosianin dan antioksidan minuman bunga telang melalui penurunan pH, peningkatan total antosianin, peningkatan vitamin C dan peningkatan akitivitas antioksidan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi campuran maizena dan glukomanan dengan lama pengeringan serta interaksi keduanya terhadap karakteristik bioplastik serta menentukan konsentrasi campuran maizena-glukomanan dengan lama pengeringan yang terbaik. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Percobaan Faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi campuran maizena-glukomanan dari 4 taraf, yaitu 4%, 5%, 6%, dan 7% (b/b). Faktor kedua adalah lama pengadukan yang terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu 5,6,7, dan 8 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi campuran maizena-glukomanan dengan lama pengeringan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap kuat tarik, perpanjangan saat putus dan pengembangan tebal/swelling, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap biodegradasi. Interaksi antar perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap kuat tarik dan laju transmisi uap air. Konsentrasi asam stearat 6% dan lama pengeringan 6 jam menghasilkan karakteristik komposit bioplastik terbaik dengan nilai kuat tarik sebesar 22,82 MPa, perpanjangan saat putus sebesar 11,01 %, nilai elastisitas sebesar 353,50 MPa, nilai penyerapan air sebesar 87,98%, nilai laju transmisi uap air sebesar 1,42 g/m2.jam dan laju biodegradasi selama 7 hari. Hasil analisis gugus fungsi menunjukkan komposit bioplastik maizena glukomanan mengandung gugus hidroksil (O-H), karbonil (C=O), karboksil (C-O) dan hidrokarbon -(CH2)n.

Abstract

Sugarcane plantations have a role in the development of agriculture in Indonesia. Sugarcane plants needed by industry as raw materials for making sugar, which became nine staples. National sugar production has decreased productivity in terms of yield due to the process of delaying milling (down time). Milling delays of up to three days can decrease the quality of sugarcane juice as reviewed from the increase %brix, decreased pH, increase in sugar content reduction %brix and decrease HK. Design the magic machine sugar cane into a sugarcane harvesting machine tool with sugarcane juice output that aims to optimize the quality of sugarcane juice so that there is not fermentation process and inhibit the hydrolysis of sucrose caused by enzymatic reactions and microbiological activity. The method of design starts from the stage of drafting, identification of problems, solution, designing and prototype. The results of the Magic Machine Sugar Cane design are designed with a height of 1.85 meters and a width of 1.65 meters and a length of 3.75 meters consisting of diesel components, cutting blades, cane carriers, cane cutters, wheels, roll mills, filters, handles, frame body and equipped with a storage tube with the principle of maintaining the sugarcane juice temperature to 5oC. Magic Machine Sugar Cane effective in maintaining the quality of the sugarcane juice during the process of the cutting and transport system.

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the safety of Balinese local traditional water sources (beji) which are commonly used by people in lowland villages in Bali for their daily needs. In this work both chemical and biological aspects were studied, namely the mineral content, heavy metals, and the content of harmful bacteria (such as E. coli and coliforms, others, Shigella, Salmonella, and others) which might exist in the spring waters using with modified guidelines from SNI on drinking water. The research was conducted by collecting water samples from springs (beji) located in the lowlands of southern Bali. Chemical contamination measurement on heavy metal content was carried out using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and the dissolved particles was observed using UV-visible Spectroscopy. The spring water samples were then grown on specific media to identify the contaminating bacteria. Twenty nine samples of spring water from Klungkung, Gianyar, Denpasar, Badung, and Tabanan regencies were collected then the physical characteristics were measured. The chemical and biological contamination tests on the spring water samples were carried out and no samples were found to be chemically or biologically polluted, and the quality of the all spring waters was deemed acceptable in the SNI regarding drinking water.

Abstract

Bioplastic is one type of plastic that can be degraded naturally because it uses organic materials. This purpose of this study is to determine the effect and interaction of variations in the ratio of raw materials and concentration of reinforcing materials on the characteristics of the bioplastic composites of taro tuber starch (Colocasia esculenta) and carrageenan as well as to determine variations in the ratio of raw materials and concentrations of reinforcing materials in the manufacture of bioplastic composites of taro tuber starch (Colocasia esculenta) and carrageenan which produces the best bioplastic composites. This study used a Factorial Randomized Block design with two factors, namely the ratio of taro tuber starch: carrageenan which consisted of three levels, namely (25:75; 50:50; 75:25 g) and the concentration of cellulose acetate as a reinforcing agent which consisted of 3 the level of (1.67; 5; 8.33%) of polymeric materials. The treatments were grouped into 3 based on the time of making bioplastics, so that 27 experimental units were obtained. The observed variables were tensile strength, elongation at break, modulus young, swelling, biodegradation and functional groups using FTIR. The obtained data were analyzed for diversity and continued with the Honest Significant Difference test. The results showed that the interaction of variations in the ratio of raw materials and concentration of reinforcing materials had a very significant effect on tensile strength, elongation at break, modulus young and biodegradation but had no significant effected the swelling. The characteristics of bioplastic composites in the variation of the ratio of raw materials and concentration of reinforcing materials produced the best values, the tensile strength of 17.60 MPa, elongation at break of 14.91%, modulus young of 154.80 MPa, swelling of 7.52%, biodegradation for 6 – 8 days and contains hydrocarbon functional groups (-(CH2)n), alkenes (C – H), alkanes (C – H), phenols, alcohol monomers, hydrogen bonded alcohols (O – H).

Abstract

Biofoam merupakan salah satu produk bioplastik yang dikembangkan untuk mengurangi penggunaan plastik saat ini. Biofoam yang terbuat dari matriks utama dapat berasal dari bahan polimer alam yang dapat membentuk gel dan membentuk busa seperti sorbitol dan diisosianat (poliuretan). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbandingan sorbitol. dan TDI-80 pada karakteristik biokomposit busa pati jagung-glukomanan dan menentukan perlakuan terbaik. Rancangan percobaan ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Data dianalisis keragamannya dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil Tuckey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbandingan poliuretan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap densitas massa, kekerasan, pegas reflektif, tegangan putus, perpanjangan putus, ketahanan sobek dan kompresi konstan. Biokomposit busa pati jagung-glukomanan terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan rasio sorbitol 70:30 dan TDI-80 dengan nilai rata-rata densitas rata-rata 0,09 g/mL, kekerasan 6,14 kg, pegas reflektif 19,93%, tegangan putus 0,21 N/mm2, elongasi saat putus 6,53%, ketahanan sobek 0,15 N/cm3, Kompresi tetap pada 4,90% dan terdegradasi rata-rata 7,25 hari. Bioplastik yang dihasilkan pada penelitian ini telah memenuhi standar SNI 06-1004-1989 pada variabel uji kekerasan dan tekan serta standar ASTM 5998 pada variabel panjang degradasi.Kata kunci: biofoam, sorbitol, TDI-80, Maizena, glukomanan
