Abstract

PT Schenker Petrolog Utama is one of the most prominent companies in Indonesia that handle service in domestic cargo delivery. In analyzing the problems in handling Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) especially for export documents, the author uses a tree analysis consisting of problem tree, target tree, and alternative tree. The first analysis is done in the process of handling export documents. After that, analysis on the root of problem in handling export documents by using questionnaires—it successfully identifies four problems: lack of human resources, poor communication among the employees in handling export documents, computer network system which is in problem, and slow response from the customer to confirm the export documents. Subsequently, analysis on the solutions or alternative actions for those problems in handling export documents.

Abstract

Human mobility has been started since time immemorial, the activities carried out by a variety of purposes, among others, to find food, looking for a better place to live, flee from the invasion of other people and so on. In the mobility often brings the goods or not carrying goods. Therefore diperluhkan tool as a means of transportation. This article describes how to build a partnership between government, business and society in the public transport sector. The method used is: a method literature. Aspects of efficiency resulting from the development of transport in order to increase total factor productivity, a major factor to determine the extent of the relationship between transport and the economy. This is the basis for determining whether an increase in the supply of transport can provide something that is meaningful to increased competition or increased economic growth, social and environmental sustainability. Problems funding needs huge investments for the development of the transport sector can be overcome if the funds were handed over to private sector development as an owner of capital, while the government as a component of regulators should be bold and assertive in policy-making that comes from the community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of operational management and service to customer satisfaction in the port of the archipelago Kendari. To collect the data, this study used a questionnaire method / inquiry tangible items of questions. This questionnaire distributed to companies who become customers Kendari port of the archipelago. The population in this study is the customer service users Nusantara Port Kendari. Testing the quality of the data using validity and reliability test and classical assumption. While the analysis model used in this study using multiple linear regression analysis, T test, F test, test the coefficient of determination. The results showed that: 1. In the individual variable operational management and service a significant effect on customer satisfaction in the port of the archipelago Kendari. T test results gained tcount accepted at significance level of 5%; 2. Taken together operational management and service variables significantly influence customer satisfaction in the port of the archipelago Kendari. F assay results received grades of F = 97.224 accepted at significance level of 5%; 3. The operational management of the dominant influence on customer satisfaction, compared to the variable service. T-test results for the variable gain tcount operational management (11.055) higher than the variable tcount services (9.913) at the 5% significance level.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the impactsof promotion and service quality on the student’s demand for online serviced taxi. Taxi online itself is a kind of application-based service in public transportation.In this research, the writer took randomly 379 students of Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Transportasi (STMT) Trisakti as respondents. The collected data then were processed and analysed by using statistical method, the multiple linear regression. The research result concluded that the promotion and the quality of service have significant and positive impactsfor the students to order the onlined servicing taxi.

Abstract

In Japan, the transportation system is the lifeblood of the country in order to ease the flow of people, goods, and information, supporting the achievement of optimum economic resources allocation.  To  that  end,  the  transportation  service  should  be  fairly  evenly  available  and affordable purchasing power. This is a literature study, whose main data sources are books, literature, records, and reports that have to do with the subject matter being solved. The results show that Japanese transportation system is very modern, comfortable, secure, punctual, and well-organized, as well as outstanding in service and responsible, so that people use public transport rather than private cars. Transportation in Japan as in other countries includes land, sea, and air transports. On land, there is a transport in the form of excellent trains and become a major transportation in Japan. In addition, there are also subway trains. To connect between islands, especially the four largest islands (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu) there are ferries as a means of crossing. Also available is a comprehensive international air service through two major airlines, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways, as well as foreign airlines based  on  the  operators  who  fly  all  over  the  world.  Transportation  in  Japan  is  generally accommodated by Japan Railway (JR), the state-owned company JR Bus, JR Train, and others.

Abstract

Through the ability of technology, facilities, infrastructures, and sufficient operational activities, business competition in air transport service is becoming tighter. All airlines are competing to be the best. As one of the most experienced companies, in fact, PT Garuda Indonesia has experienced hard times. By using qualitative and quantitative methods with Altman Z Score method, it is found that in the period of 2003-2007 PT Garuda Indonesia faced a very critical situation. Only in 2007, this company started to recover and improve.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the feasibility of Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train Transportation policy in realizing environmentally friendly transportation. The research uses qualitative methods, because it intends to get empirical facts, find deep meaning, observe, capture reality and examine the behavior of indifidu and group of research object. Instruments with interviews, focus group discussion, observation, and triangulation. Determination of Informant with purposive technique. Data analysis with emic, ethical approach and verstehen. The results of research: 1. Jakarta and Bandung as the first and third largest cities with very high economic potential, hence, the policy of the Government decided the construction of Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train infrastructure is appropriate. The fast train became the preferred form of modernization of mass transportation in building inter-city connectivity between provinces, and regional development. 2. The rapid railway development of Jakarta-Bandung is in the framework of moving large quantities of people or goods within a short time, creating optimal employment, creating the railway industry using local materials, and technology transfer. 3. With the substitution of the type of movement of conventional and highway-based racecars to fast trains with electric power, thereby reducing carbon emissions through emission reduction. Abstract

The aims of this research is to analyze the policy of sea transport in the realization of modern sea toll transportation and development. The research uses descriptive-qualitative. The result shows: 1) government’s policy regarding sea toll is to ship transport, guarantee the availability of goods, reduce disparity cost and ensure continuity service transport of goods to regional, remote, outermost and border; 2) sea transport development policy is to enhance the role of national shipping leet both domestic and export-import transportation by imposing cabotage principle; abolish unoficial charges in ports through improved coordination of all relevant institutions and the process of loading and unloading goods that meet international shipping standards and the implementation of the International Ship and Port Security; restructure shipping legislation and its implementation, as well as institutional sub-sector of sea transport in order to create conditions that will attract private investment in the construction of sea transportation infrastructure; 3) sea transportation policy is set to increase nasional development to transport people, goods and information. This policy functions as supporting system to achieve the optimum allocation of economic resources in order to provide equitable, and affordable purchasing power services.

Abstract

Transportation problem is a common problem in modern life. The impact of increasingly severe traffic congestion, for example, shows the transport problems are inevitable. However, when the problem is transformed into an ethical problem, it can be said that the ethos of the nation is in danger of experiencing a slump. Phenomenological method of research through language is used with the basis of the speech act theory of communication, after tracing automotive advertising published by newspaper in Jakarta (from March 2013 to March 2014), the result shows that Indonesian transportation latest ethical problem leads to a conspiracy carried out by the newspapers and the advertisers.

Abstract

The purpose of this reserach is to find the alternative policy that should be taken by the Medan City Government, describes the causes of traffic density and traffic congestion and to evaluate the implementation of the Medan City Government policy in facing the problems of transportation and traffic congestion of Medan City. The study was conducted at (a) the inner city corridor road: Jalan Mohd. Yamin and Jalan Balai Kota (b) outter corridor road: Jalan Yos Sudarso, Jalan Letda Sujono, Jalan Jamin Ginting, Jalan S.M. Raja, and Jalan Gatot Subroto (c) the outer ring road is Jalan Karya Jasa. Data collection from various sources and processed for analysis and evaluation using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The sample is taken by purposive way where the selected respondent has competence in reviewing policy to resolve traffic jam. Based on research results, the density and traffic congestion can be resolve with more effective transportation policy, consistent enforcement of rules by the policy implementers and public awareness to obey the rules of transportation policy that have been made.
