Abstract

Forest ecosystem supports almost all of  the needs of  human being through its contribution of  tangible and intangible values.  Currently, the intangible values have gained less attention than the tangible values that cause  underestimation of  the total value of  the forest conversion into other more tangibly profitable usages, and miss-management of  the forest. One of  the important intangible values is the hydrological value that has been hardly calculated until now.  This research the intangible values of  water for household, transportation, agriculture and fishing in Mendalam Sub Watershed, Kalimantan. The economic values calculated based on market prices, opportunity costs and consumer’s surplus methods. The results showed that based on the    opportunity cost method the economic values of  the hydrological services was about Rp 8,043,706,237.50 per year. Meanwhile, the economic values of  the hydrological services based on the consumer’s surplus method gave lower value than the former method, i.e. Rp 8,031,351,664.60 per year. This study showed that the economic value of  the hydrological services was very high, which has not been included in the calculation yet. However, without trees there would be no forest and all other values included water value would not exist. Consequently, current forest management should put forest ecosystem as important to consider.

Abstract

Airport is a vital subsystem in the air transport system which has an important and strategic role in smoothening air traffic, so that an airport must be designed to be always ready in all situations and conditions to serve airline flights securely, orderly, smoothly, and quickly. The frequent delay faced by Indonesian domestic scheduled airlines is not fully caused by internal factor of the companies. Instead, it can be caused by the airport factor. The problems faced by airports in Indonesia which have impacts on the performance of flight punctuality among other things are capacity, slot time, quality of flight navigation devices, accessibility, professionalism of airport and ATC human resources, infrastructure, facilities, equipment, and the human resources handling security and safety of flights in airport. This article recommends that an in-depth study should be carried out to map the interrelations between the airport factor in the flight delay related to facilities integration and the airport authority in the flight activities in Indonesia. Key Words: airport, factor, flight delay and issue of development

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of e-toll on the quality of service at Cililitan toll gate. The research method used descriptive verification with data analysis using simple linear regression. Primary data was obtained through direct survey to e-toll users at Cililitan toll gate, Jakarta, with a sample of 50 respondents. The result of the research shows that the use of e-toll has a positive and significant effect on the service quality of Cililitan toll gate, Jakarta. The limitation of this research is that the influence of e-toll usage is not only influenced by service quality but can be influenced by other factors. It is necessary to do further research related to those other factors by developing the study at other toll gate so that the standard of Automatic Gate Service (AGS) can be applied to toll services.

Abstract

Increasing mobility of human activities requires transportation modes to be more reliable. The technology offered by online transportation service providers is a new technology in the transportation service industry which can grow rapidly. The technology offered also changes the way consumers use transportation services. This phenomenon also has a major impact on the transportation industry and requires the government to immediately improve regulations on transportation services. Along with consumer behavior that is increasingly digital and more dependent on the internet for daily activities such as information retrieval, shopping, and business transactions, making business both local and foreign begin to present online application-based transportation. The purpose of this study is to analyze and determine the social challenges of transportation and the drivers’ growth in online application-based transportation in Indonesia and their influence on government policy. The population was all application users based on online transportation, and obtained as many as 240 respondents gave responses to the questionnaire. Data were collected by interviews, questionnaires and documentation studies, variables studied using a Likert scale. The questionnaire was first tested using validity and reliability testing, analyzed by SEM analysis. The results found in the hypothesis testing of this study are: simultaneously, the social challenges of transportation and the growth of online application-based transportation have a positive and significant influence on government policy. Partially, the online application-based transportation challenge variables in Indonesia have a significant influence on government policy variables, so that they have a positive and significant influence. Partially, the online application-based transportation growth variable has a significant influence on government policy variables, so it has a positive and significant influence. Based on the 11 Goodness of Fit (GOF) criteria models above, the research model has a fairly good model. This means that the measurement model obtained from the data is in accordance with the research hypothesis. This is because of the 11 criteria, there are 8 criteria that have been fulfilled.
