Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Mesin
Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Mesin (JITM) diterbitkan oleh jurusan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Universitas Islam “45” (UNISMA) Bekasi. Jurnal ini sebagai jurnal berkala ilmiah yang memiliki tujuan untuk mempublikasikan pengembangan ilmu serta wawasan mengenai lingkup teknik mesin yang berfokus pada bidang energi baru terbarukan dan manufaktur. Publikasi yang diterbitkan oleh Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Mesin UNISMA Bekasi merupakan hasil penelitian para akademisi baik dari penelitian para dosen maupun penelitian kerjasama antara mahasiswa dan dosen, bahkan juga penelitian dari kalangan para praktisi industri yang bergerak di bidang teknik mesin. JITM ini dapat diakses secara full text dan open access oleh para pembaca sehingga para pembaca juga ikut turut membantu dalam peningkatan sitasi dari JITM. JITM dipublikasikan sebanyak 2 (dua) kali dalam 1 (satu) tahun yaitu pada bulan Februari dan Agustus. Lingkup JITM meliputi bidang energi baru terbarukan, dan manufaktur. Bidang energi baru terbarukan yang dibahas mengenai sistem dan alat teknologi konversi yang mampu mengkonversi sumber energi terbarukan seperti energi tenaga air, tenaga angin, tenaga surya, biomassa, dan lain-lain untuk dapat dimanfaatkan energinya ke bidang sektor yang lain. Bidang manufaktur yang dibahas meliputi bidang material, tribologi, dan lain-lain. Redaktur mengundang para penulis dan peneliti untuk mengirimkan artikel ilmiah maupun hasil penelitiannya ke JITM UNISMA Bekasi.

Peanut washers are useful for cleaning soil that sticks and can speed up the washing process inpeanut production. Peanut washers on the market have a fairly expensive price for small andmedium businesses so that it becomes a hindrance to have a peanut washing machine for smallentrepreneurs because it requires peanut washers at a cheap price by modifying used clotheswashing machines. In the modification of peanut skin washers to determine the optimalcleanliness of the use of the optimal number of brush variations from the results of washingpeanuts, use a GUI with image processing techniques looking for normalization of RGB valuesin Matlab Software. From image processing using RGB normalization value on matlab with freevariables using variations in the number of brushes 1, 2, and 3 pcs and 1 kg peanut-fixedvariables and 40 liters of water for 10 minutes to get the optimal use of 1 brush in experiment 2using 1 brush of 60% or 6 clean beans of 10 samples rather than 2 brushes and 3 brushesbecause on 2 and 3 brushes many nuts are stuck by the handle of the brush resulting from thevolume of water parallel to the brush angle so that it is not brushed.

The availability of energy resources in the world increasingly diminish. More scientist is questing other renewable resources. The solar air heater is a tool that used energy by absorbing solar radiation then convert into heat energy. The study tried to have some variations to the speed of the air flow rate with spin 2500 rpm, 3000 rpm and 3500 rpm and give vertical partitions to it.The aim of giving vertical partitions is to know the influence to the heat transfer rate and the efficiency value of it. The result of this study is the speed variations of the blower take effect to the heat transfer rate. This is shown from the study data for 5 days, the average value of the heat of the system at 3500 rpm rotation is 341.6 Watts, 3000 rpm rotation value 305.7 Watt, and 2500 rpm rotation value 249.3 Watt. The average value of efficiency at 3500 rpm is 49.60%, 3000 rpm rotation is 43.22% and at 2500 rpm the value is 37.33%. The highest system heat is 535.79 Watt with the highest delta input and output temperature of 49.7 ℃. While the highest heat absorber is 1280.15 Watt with the highest light intensity, which is 140100 Lux. With a variety of rotation speeds blower and vertical partitions, this tool is capable of producing the highest efficiency of 67.95%, and the lowest is 24.85%.

This research was conducted to find the ideal current and time used during the plating process, because in every industry the most frequent problems are the thickness that coats the material and the corrosion rate of the material that causes the material to become damaged or no good. This study uses SGD400 carbon steel and zinc as a coating. The research was carried out on a tank containing various kinds of chemical liquids and using electric current as conductivity for the coating media. Analysis using layer thickness measurement using vernier caliper measuring instrument and weight loss method. The results obtained from searching the current and the ideal time using a current of 900 A and a time of 60 minutes is 0.015 mm or 15 μm thick and the SST test (Salt Spray Test) at 72 hours No White Rust and 168 Hours No Red Rust. And good coating results can be seen in microstructure testing using keyence microscope media

Cooling is the best preservation method than others because the food that has been cooled will remain fresh and will not experience a change in taste, color and aroma, besides all the activities that cause decay will stop so that the cooled food will last longer. (Hartanto, 1984). With the proper cooling engine planning, it can help with spatial adjustments, adjustments to loading, estimation of the power to be used, and budget plans. That is what is commonly called the cooling load calculation. Calculation of cooling load needs to be carried out before planning. This is necessary because the magnitude of the pending load is very influential on the selection of the cooling engine so that the freezing point for preserving food can be accurate. Pendiginan burden is influenced by external and internal factors. With the experimental method, it is obtained the results of the external cooling load as the external cooling load is 11.6 kW, the inner cooling load is 138.8 kW and the performance work coefficient (COP) is 2.

Carburizing is a heat treatment process with the addition of carbon content to the metal surface. To obtain the microstructure and the desired properties of the metal can be obtained through the heating and cooling process at a certain temperature. To get a high hardness value after the carburization process of the workpiece, the quenching process is carried out, namely the rapid cooling process, so that the martensitic phase is obtained. AISI 4140 steel is one type of steel that is widely used in engine components such as piston pins. The piston pin is usually made of medium carbon steel AISI 4140. Based on its application this steel was developed with the aim of having mechanical properties especially hardness, strength and resistance to wear. This study tested the hardness of AISI 4140 steel before and after the solid carburizing process using 80% bamboo charcoal as carbon and 20% Barium Carbonate as a catalyst, with a holding time of 60, 90, and 120 minutes using oil quenching media. The results obtained showed an increase in the highest hardness value at the holding time of 120 minutes.

Time is a parameter that is very influential on the productivity and product quality from the nitriding process. This study aims to find out how much effect of the holding time in salt bath nitriding process to the nitride layer thickness and surface hardness of SUH35 material. This salt bath nitriding process used chemical salt with cyanide content (CNˉ) 1.5% - 4.5%, and cyanate content (CNOˉ) 28% - 32%. The workpiece used in this study is a cylindrical SUH35 material with diameter 5 mm. Temperature that used for salt bath nitriding process is 580 ° C with a variation of the holding time is 20 minutes, 25 minutes and 35 minutes. From this study, results of the data obtained are, with a holding time 20 minutes the average thickness of the nitride layer SUH35 material is 12.74 µm and the average surface hardness is 556.96 Hv. With a holding time 25 minutes the average thickness of the nitride layer SUH35 material is 16.07 µm and the average surface hardness is 792.18 Hv. With a holding time 35 minutes the average thickness of the nitride layer SUH35 material is 20.17 µm and the average surface hardness is 989.94 Hv.

Surface roughness of a product plays an important role, especially for materials such as SUS 304 steel which is now widely used in a variety of industrial needs. Determination of the turning parameters or the appropriate type of cooling fluids are very important to obtain the desired surface roughness. The aim of the study was to determine the ideal value of feeding (f) and the ideal type of cooling fluids in the turning process of SUS 304 steel. The feedrate parameters used were 0.11 mm/rev, 0.15 mm/rev, and 0.19 mm/rev, whereas the types of cooling fluids used are Fumio Lube Fumicool 794 soluble oil and Suncut 16S lubricant oil. Surface roughness results are obtained through testing using a surface roughness measuring instrument. From the predetermined parameters were obtained the smallest roughness value on the feedrate was 0.11 mm/rev using Suncut 16S lubricant oil with a result of 0.770 µm, while the largest roughness value on the feedrate was 0.19 mm/rev using Fumio Lube Fumicool 794 soluble oil with a result of 3.942µm.

Baja SUJ2 merupakan material standar internasional yang umum digunakan untuk pembuatan bearing. Ketahanan aus (wear resistance) sangat dipengaruhi oleh nilai kekerasan. Hardness yang baik dapat dicapai dengan cara memberikan perlakuan panas pada material tersebut melalui tahapan heating, quenching, lalu tempering. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui secara jelas laju keausan material baja SUJ2 yang diberikan perlakuan variasi temperatur tempering. Pada penelitian ini, material baja SUJ2 mendapatkan perlakuan tempering dengan variasi nilai temperatur sebesar 170 0C, 200 0C, 230 0C. Hasil pengujian dengan alat uji aus tipe Pin on Disk (ASTM G99) menunjukkan bahwa baja SUJ2 dengan perlakuan tempering 170 0C dan pembebanan alat uji aus sebesar 4,9 N memiliki ketahan aus paling baik yaitu 0,7228 mm3/menit, sedangkan material baja SUJ2 dengan perlakuan tempering 230 0C dan pembebanan alat uji aus sebesar 14,7 N memiliki ketahanan aus paling buruk yaitu 2,3098 mm3/menit.

Baja mempunyai peranan yang sangat penting dalam bidang industri maupun otomotif, sebagian besar bahan utamanya terbuat dari baja. Contohnya seperti roda gigi, roda gigi termasuk kedalam golongan baja karbon rendah. Baja ini dapat ditingkatkan lagi kekerasannya dengan cara dilakukan proses perlakuan panas dengan metode karburasi. Karburasi ialah proses penambahan unsur karbon yang tujuannya untuk menambah kandungan karbon agar bisa ditingkatkan lagi kekerasannya di area permukaan baja. Agar mendapatkan struktur mikro dan sifat baja yang diinginkan pada logam tersebut, dapat diperoleh melalui temperatur pada fasa austenite yang kemudian di dinginkan dengan pendinginan cepat sehingga dapat menghasilkan fasa martensite. Baja ST37 mempunyai karakteristik mudah dibentuk, ketangguhan dan keuletannya yang tinggi tetapi mempunyai kekerasannya yang rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai kekerasan baja ST37 sebelum dan sesudah proses karburasi padat yang menggunakan media arang batok kelapa sebagai penambah unsur karbon dan barium karbonat sebagai katalis, dengan waktu pemanasan masing-masing yaitu 850°C, 880°C, dan 930°C yang kemudian di quenching dengan media oli. Dan hasil kekerasan baja maksimum dicapai pada temperatur 930°C.

Enhancement human need for energy, especially fossil energy that is used in everyday life as fuel in industry and fuel that is used for personal use. Increased consumption of fossil fuels is not offset by the availability of natural resources, therefore alternative energy is needed to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. One alternative energy that has been found is electrolysis of water to produce HHO gas. This study aims to determine the production rate and efficiency of the HHO gas generator using a variety of NaOH, NaCl and KOH catalysts where each catalyst uses a mass fraction percentage of 4.76%. From the results of the research that has been done the results of NaOH catalyst have a flow rate of 2.203 ml / s and are the best catalyst compared to 1.24 ml / s NaCl catalyst and 1.859 ml / s KOH catalyst. Then for efficiency, KOH catalyst was obtained as the best catalyst with an efficiency of 8.76% compared with NaCl of 8.18% and NaOH of 7.82%
