The Indonesian Journal of Occupational Safety and Health is an open access and scientific journal published by the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Airlangga, and supported by Indonesian Occupational Safety and Health Association (AHKKI) East Java Region, Indonesian Occupational Health Experts Association (PAKKI), and Indonesian Industrial Hygiene Association. The journal aims to publish original articles and review articles on recent developments related to occupational health and safety. Articles were published after a peer-review process with two reviewers and the editor. Since 2017, this journal is published regularly three times a year, in April, August and December. Since 2019, all articles have been published in English. This journal has been certified as a Scientific Journal by the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (RISTEKDIKTI) since October 3, 2022 valid through August 2026 (SINTA 2).

Abstract

ABSTRACT5R is a program to minimize or eliminate the danger by treating a workplace correctly. A good work and comfortable environment should be arranged so that workers can work without distractions. A good housekeeping will being held if the workers participate and obey all rules in the company not only just participate, but also contribute management of the company for 5R implementation. This study aims to analyze company’s policy dan participate of workers on sector production with 5R implementation in PT. Maritim Barito Perkasa Banjarmasin. This study used a cross-sectional design. Research on samples used 20 samples who are all of worker in sector production. The result of the research showed that 5R policy of PT. Maritim Barito Perkasa has not written. The knowledge level of workers were mostly understand about 5R implementation of PT. Maritim Barito Perkasa. And attitude that shown by workers about 5R implementation also good. Underliner of this research can be suggested to company is to make a written policy about 5R implementation. Forming audit team can be conducted every 3 month to help applying 5R implementation. 5R implementation must be supported from every side so that problem about 5R implementation can be realized maximally and continously.Keywords: worker’s participation, company policy, 5R implementation

Abstract

ABSTRACTProblems that arised when employees works at height are worker did not wear full body harness, lanyard did not hanged perfectly to handrail, did not works according to the procedure, and using unsafe scaffolding. Hazard identification and risk assessment used as prevention for accident when operating scaffolding. This study was an observational study with cross sectional design and analyzed descriptively. The design used for the study carried out by observing cause and effect within a period of time and space. Objects of this study were frame scaffolding and scaffolding PCH, while subjects of this study were SHE Officer, SHE supervisor, workers section structure, finishing, plumbing hydrant, and mechanical engineering. Results of hazard identification using JSA method founds 43 potential hazards originating from 4 different types of work in this project. The results of the risk assessment of 43 potential hazards have been found that 1 hazard have low risk, 40 hazards have moderate risk , and high risk hazard are 2. The dominant risk from the operation of the scaffolding was 40 potential hazards or 93% of the total potential hazards and high-risk hazard eventhough only 5% of all potential hazards remains a top priority and should be controlled soon to reduce the high and medium risk becomes low risk. The likelihood-based control is more possible to reduce risk level than severity-based control.Keywords: risk assessment, scaffolding operation

Abstract

Welding occurs much hazard especially toward welders eyestrain. The Objective of study was to analyzed relation between age and eyestrain and also weld luminous intensity and eyestrain at welders of PT. X in District of Gresik. Research was carried out by cross sectional and observational study. Subjects were 20 welders of PT. X in District of Gresik. Data collecting was carried out by interview, measurement instrument, and examination. The independent variables were age and weld luminous intensity, and the dependent variable was eyestrain. Spearman Test was used to correlate between age and eyestrain. Pearson Product Moment Test was used to correlate between weld luminous intensity and eyestrain. According to the results, there was significant correlation between age and eyestrain (p = 0,007). There are more eyestrains will be occurred in older age. Result also showed that there was significant correlation between weld luminous intensity and eyestrain (p = 0,023). High exposure of weld luminous intensity will occurs contrast so that eyes needs much effort to adapt it. Light of weld contain UV light, visible light, and infrared radiation. In conclusion, there was significant correlation between age and eyestrain. And also, there was significant correlation between weld luminous intensity and eyestrain. Welders must use face shield depend on types of welding and company should held eyes examination to welders routinely.Keywords: age, weld luminous intensity, eyestrain

Abstract

Industri migas merupakan industri yang tinggi modal, tinggi teknologi, serta tinggi resiko. Karena itu perlu program yang dapat memonitoring pekerja seperti HSE Passport. HSE Pasport adalah buku yang berisi orientasi, pelatihan, sertifikasi yang telah di diperoleh dan kondisi kesehatan dari pekerja. Dengan adanya HSE Passport, akan memudahkan atasan untuk menetapkan pekerja tersebut mampu bekerja dimana pun dan kapanpun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis implementasi HSE Passport di PT. Pertamina EP Prabumulih Field. Berdasarkan rancangan penelitian, penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif, ditinjau dari waktu termasuk penelitian cross sectional. Variabel penelitian adalah HSE Passpor dan ijin kerja. Populasi penelitian adalah pekerja dan pekarya di PT. Pertamina EP Prabumulih Field berjumlah 443 pekerja. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan incidental sampling sehingga jumlah sampel menjadi 42 pekerja. Hasil Implementasi HSE Passport di PT. Pertamina EP Prabumulih Field belum berjalan sepenuhnya. Pekerja belum memaham pentingnya HSE Passpor. Peraturan tentang HSE Passport belum dilaksanakan secara tegas. Apabila dijalankan sesuai dengan prosedur, akan membantu mengurangi resiko kecelakaan kerja. Saran untuk PT. Pertamina EP Prabumulih adalah perlu adanya pengaturan sanksi yang tegas apabila terjadi pelanggaran dan perlu diadakan evaluasi pemahaman HSE Passpor pada saat pelatihan mandatory.Kata kunci: implementasi HSE Passport, kecelakaan kerja

Abstract

ABSTRACTRevolution in the industry sector has been rapidly grown to fill up all the needs of the consumer products. One involves  supporting advanced machinery such as “Cutting, Skiving, Stitching, Emboss Logo, Roving, Punch Hole, Juki, BrushingEdge, Hammer Over Lapping and Two Molding”. In the factory production process, there are various types of high-risk activities, especially on line upper. The main of this research is to study the risk assessment on export companies line the upper part of the shoes export company using Job Safety Analysis. This research was conducted observational crosssectional design. Observations made to the hazards and control measures. Interviews were conducted to 12 employees. Variables in this research is production activity, hazard identification, risk assessment, risk control and residual risk. The results of hazard identification has been done, there are 91 known potential hazards, for risk assessment found 7 high risk and low risk 5. Machine classified as high risk on the risk assessment is roving machine, whereas low-risk is two molding machine. Control efforts on the upper line in accordance with the hierarchy of controlling a number of 91 controls, whereas for the residual risk still remains as much as 30 residual risk. Control has been applied quite well by pressing the consequences of hazards and risk management.Keywords: risk assessment, controlling, residual risk

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of eye’s health problems that can be experienced by batik artisans are eyestrain. There are many factors that can cause eyestrain, one of them is the intensity of the illumination. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the intensity of illumination with eyestrain on batik artisans. This type of research is descriptive observational study with cross sectional design. This research was conducted in nine home industry batik which is in the area of Kampung Batik Jetis Sidoarjo. Data obtained by direct measurement, observation, interviews, and see the monument which contains the history of the Jetis batik village. The results showed that the intensity of illumination in some Jetis batik home industry does not reach the standards of the majority of the UNEP (500 lux). The craftsmen who experience eyestrain or not, the amount is balance. Based on the results of the statistical test known that the value of Cramer’s V coefficient is 0.905, which means the intensity of illumination with eyestrain has a very strong relationship level. The conclusion is, the intensity of the light which majority does not reach the standards had a very strong relationship with eyestrain. It is recommended to improve workplace hygiene lighting installation (including lamps), perform color settings and decorations workplace, using natural light as much as possible, and perform eye exams to the eye doctor regularly. Especially if the batik artisan’s eyes look red, watery, and itchy and feeling frequent headaches.Keywords: intensity of illumination, eyestrain

Abstract

PT. (X), Surabaya is one of company that manages toll road or highway that implement the shift system of work. Shift work has the potential for job stress and other health problems. The purpose of this research was to identify descriptive the level of job stress between shift work at the toll collector in PT. (X), Surabaya. This research was an observational analytic study with cross sectional approach. 36 toll collector who work when the morning shift, afternoon, and evening at the toll gate x, toll gate y and toll gate z were chosen as sample by using Proportional Random Sampling method. The results showed when the shift I (morning) there were 15 respondents (41.7%) suffered mild job stress and 21 respondents (58.3%) suffered moderate job stress. At the shift II (evening) there were 12 respondents (33.3%) suffered mild stress of work and 24 respondents (66.7%) suffered moderate job stress, while at the shift III (evening) were 9 respondents (25%) suffered light work stress and 27 respondents (75%) suffered moderate job stress. Based on the research results, it can be concluded the level of job stress between of shift work on the toll collectors suffered mild and moderate stress. The greatest frequency of respondents suffered moderate job stress. Recommendation for the company is review the system of career development and maintaining training activities, while for workers is use the time to rest and regular exercise.Keywords: job stress, shift work, toll collector

Abstract

 Work to make the shoes is a job that has a risk of harm. Equipment used in the production process such as electric heating machine / fire (oven), glue, nails and a hammer. raw materials made of fabrics, synthetic leather or plastic materials. For the gluing process uses two types of glue that glue Brands Pro ARdico yellow, white glue and glue LK brand PU-Weber, DS-DNS Bond 818. Of the various equipment and materials used, the chemicals in the manufacturing process of shoes is one of the dangers presented high. The use of chemicals can damage the health of the craftsmen shoes one of them contained in the use of glue. The general objective of this study was to analyze the level of risks to health from exposure to benzene in shoe craftsman worker. This study is an observational study conducted in the shoe industry craftsmen village Tambak Oso Wilangon Surabaya. Meanwhile, in terms of time, the type of approach used in this study is cross-sectional design of the study design using risk analysis paradigm by taking one of the other, its components, namely a risk assessment / risk assessment. The concentration of benzene measured has a value of at least 0:04 mg / m3 and a maximum of 7.44 mg / m3. The calculation result obtained RQ RQ ≤ 1 of 8 people (40%) and RQ> 1 as many as 13 people (60%) and the calculation of the ECR obtained all workers with ECR value> 10-5 as many as 20 people (100%). The conclusion from this study is there risk to workers' health effects Noncarcinogenic and all employees at risk for health effects carcinogenic.Keywords: Risk, glue, gasoline, Benzene, RQ, ECR

Abstract

PT. Star Queen Indonesia merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang vehicle manufacture. Banyaknya pesanan menyebabkan stres kerja yang dirasakan oleh pekerja tidaklah kecil, sehingga pekerja dapat mengalamai kelelahan. Selain stres kerja, iklim kerja juga dapat mengakibatkan kelelahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan iklim kerja dan stres kerja dengan kelelahan kerja. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Alat yang digunakan untuk mengukur Indeks Suhu Bola Basah (ISBB) adalah Heat Stress Meter Quest Temp 36, stres kerja menggunakan kuesioner manajemen stres, dan kelelahan kerja menggunakan kuesioner Industrial Fatigue Research Comittee (IFRC). Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pekerja area workshop PT. Star Queen Indonesia sebanyak 15 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai ISBB yang melebihi NAB yang ditentukan meliputi area workshop bagian pemotongan dan perakitan, sedangkan stres kerja yang banyak dirasakan tergolong sedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji chi-square dengan nilai α = 0,05 (5%) dengan hasil menunjukkan ada hubungan antara iklim kerja dengan kelelahan kerja (Sig. 2-tailed = 0,001) dan ada hubungan antara stres kerja dengan kelelahan kerja (Sig. 2-tailed = 0,000). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa adanya hubungan iklim kerja dengan kelelahan kerja dan adanya hubungan stres kerja dengan kelelahan kerja.

Abstract

Work fatigue is a subjective feeling followed by declining of efficiency and desire to work. Fatigue can also result in work accident which affect directly to productivity. The purpose of this research was know the relation between subjektive fatigue and labor’s productivity at packaging division of chip factory, CV Sumber Barokah. This study was a descriptive study with cross sectional design. Samples were taken with a total sampling principle that all workers from packaging division who totaled 27 people. The variables were years of working life, nutritional status and subjektive fatigue and labor’s productivity. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively using Contingency Coeffisient. The results showed that the most of the respondents were 1-2 years of working life, had better nutritional status. The result of fatigue measurement used the checklist which indicated that respondents medium fatigue caused work hours and breaktime is not accordance with provision of labour laws. Respondents can package the chip based on target. The results showed existence between fatigue with labor’s productivity. The association values were 0,798 susceptible values from 0.50 to 0.75 which means a moderate level of relationship. The conclusion shows the relation between fatigue with labor’s productivity. My suggestion for the corporation is performing work hours and break time in accordance with provision of labour laws number 13 of 2003.Keywords: subjektive fatigue, labor’s productivity
