Abstract

Multilevel Inverter (MLI) is a converter that converts DC power source into AC power source with voltage output more than 2 levels. The conventional 5-level Multilevel Inverter Topology that is developing today generally uses eight power switch components. In this paper, research Topology multilevel inverter 5 levels was conducted by reducing the power switch components into four pieces and assisted by two diode clamps and capacitor as voltage coupling. PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technique used to utilize multicarrier modulation. Simulation testing with MATLAB conducted has been verified with the results of hardware tests where the output voltage shows similarity of shape at the output voltage MLI 5 levels. The results and discussion of the proposed topology can provide economic benefits from the use of the number of power switch components (MOSFET) compared to conventional 5-level MLI topology.Keywords : Multilevel Inverter, PWM, 5 Level

Abstract

Solid waste or garbage is one of the problems that must be faced by the world's population so that life becomes more harmonious. Through a series of studies, a Garbage Collector Robot (GACOBOT) was created which is expected to help humans overcome this problem in terms of garbage collection. By adding a feature in the form of object recognition, the waste can be sorted by type so that it can be grouped and processed further. In this research, using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification method based on the feature extraction of the Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) as the main method. Researchers used 14 pieces of data as training data and 10 pieces of data as test data. From the results of the tests that have been carried out, it has been obtained a success rate of 100% that the system has succeeded in separating waste into 2 types, namely plastic bag waste and glass bottle waste.

Abstract

When firefighters extinguish a fire there are certain points that are difficult to pass, while the speed of extinguishing the fire is important. Therefore, the existence of a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) that can easily reach the area is very important to help the firefighters. Then the extinguisher used to extinguish must also be specially designed because the ability to carry the robot's UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is limited. The flying robot UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) design used is a multicopter robot. Multicopter which is designed to have 6 propellers. Specially designed extinguisher is also designed to be able to extinguish the fire efficiently with the designed multicopter. The extinguisher is designed in the form of an inverted umbrella with the fabric of the umbrella using a fire extinguisher or a fire-resistant cloth. With this system design, the robot UAV is very efficient to use to extinguish fire in the form of a multicopter. The extinguisher designed has succeeded 100% in extinguishing the fire with an average time of 5 seconds, while when using water the fire is extinguished in an average time of 37.5 seconds. Keywords : UAV, Robot, Fire fighting,Mmulticopter, Extinguisher.AbstrakPada saat petugas pemadam api melakukan pemadaman api  terdapat beberapa titik tertentu yang sulit dilalui, sedangkan kecepatan dalam pemadaman adalah yang penting. Oleh sebab itu adanya UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) yang dapat dengan mudah menjangkau daerah tersebut sangatlah penting untuk membantu para pemadam. Kemudian alat pemadam yang digunakan untuk memadamkan juga harus dirancang khusus karena kemampuan angkut UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) robot terbatas. Desain UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) robot terbang yang digunakan adalah berbentuk multicopter robot. Multicopter yang didesain memiliki 6 baling-baling. Kemudan alat pemadam yang dirancang juga dirancang khusus agar dapat memadamkan api dengan efisien dengan multicopter yang telah didesain. Alat pemadam yang dirancang berupa payung terbalik yang bagian kaiin payung menggunakan kain pemadam atau kain tahan api yang biasa digunakan untuk memadamkan api. Dengan desain sistem tersebut maka UAV robot sangat efisien digunakan untuk memadamkan api dalam bentuk multicopter. Alat pemadam yang dirancang telah berhasil 100% memadamkan api dengan rata-rata waktu 5 detik, sedangkan bila menggunakan air maka api padam dalam waktu rata-rata 37.5 detik.Kata Kunci : UAV, Robot, Pemadam kebakaran, Multicopter, Alat pemadam.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the effect of the presence of foreign particles on an equilateral arrangement of 3 phase gas insulated switchgear (GIS) insulation equipment. In this calculation, the electric field characteristics will be analyzed in 3-phase equilateral GIS by varying the location of the particles in the GIS tank. Particles are modeled to have a length of 5 mm and a thickness of 0.5 mm located in a 3 phase GIS equilateral arrangement with a tank diameter of 150 mm and a conductor diameter of 25 mm. The electric field calculations are reviewed at several points in the 3-phase equilateral GIS tank. The simulation and calculation of the electric field were calculated with FEM method software. The results of the calculations show that there are differences in the characteristics of the electric field between normal GIS and GIS where foreign particles are present. The difference in these characteristics can be seen in the magnitude of the electric field, and the ratio of eccentricity from some point of view. Keywords : gas insulated switchgear, equilateral, foreign particles, electric field, eccentricity ratioAbstrakPaper ini menganalisa tentang pengaruh keberadaan partikel asing pada peralatan hubung isolasi gas/ gas insulated switchgear (GIS) 3 fasa susunan equilateral. Pada perhitungan ini, akan dianalisa karakteristik medan listrik pada GIS equilateral 3 fasa dengan memvariasikan letak partikel dalam tangki GIS. Partikel dimodelkan memiliki panjang 5 mm dan ketipisan 0.5 mm terletak di dalam GIS 3 fasa susunan equilateral dengan diameter tangki 150 mm dan diameter konduktor 25 mm. Perhitungan medan listrik ditinjau pada beberapa titik dalam tangki GIS equilateral 3 fasa. Simulasi dan perhitungan medan listrik dilakukan dengan perangkat lunak menggunakan metode FEM. Hasil dari perhitungan menunjukkan adanya perbedaaan karakteristik medan listrik antara GIS normal dengan GIS yang terdapat partikel asing. Perbedaan karakteristik ini dapat dilihat pada besar medan listrik, dan rasio eksentrisitas pada beberapa titik tinjau keberadaan partikel. Kata Kunci : gas insulated switchgear,  equilateral, partikel asing, medan listrik, rasio eksentrisitas

Abstract

Power electronic devices are the main component of the solar power generation system. This study proposes a web-based monitoring system which presents power electronic performance parameter in a real-time across an internet connection. The investigation takes ACS712 and PZEM-004T for the power converter performance measuring and Arduino Mega 2560 with an ethernet shield for data acquisition and transmission. This paper describes the schematic design of the hardware and also explains the software work-flow and structure. The test and calibration on the sensor's voltage and current to standard digital multi-meter Tektronix DMM4050 show the sensor able to accurately read the converter performance parameter and meet the standard IEC-61724. The functionality test on the web-based information system indicates the designed user interface to present the power electronic performance parameter of the solar power generator.Keywords: Monitoring System, Power Electronics and Solar Power

Abstract

Most car parking lots in the country have not been fully automated and many of them serve temporal, manual parking needs. A fully automated car parking lot assures of flexibility, improved efficiency and minimisation of manual tasks. In this paper, use was made of Siemens Step 7 PLC and WinCC Flexible Advanced software to design a fully automated car parking lot. The number of parking spaces available, the parking space number and position, arrival and departure times of cars and the time spent at the parking space are provided by the design. Simulations of designed system using Simatic PLC SIM confirmed the fulfillment of the design criteria and reliability of the developed flowcharts. Remote operator monitoring and control of the car parking lot has been actualised. Simulation results on the parking of six cars for a time duration of 0.5 hr, 1 hr, 1.5 hrs, 2 hrs, 2.5 hrs and 3 hrs, respectively yielded a total amount of GH¢ 17.00. It stands to reason that hitherto existing manual car parking lots should be converted into the fully automated type using a PLC and an HMI workstation in order to bring orderliness and deserving responsibility to car parking in Ghana.

Abstract

Switching substations are usually supplied from one express feeder which can cause a low level of reliability due to disruption or outage on the express feeder. Also, the lack of power supply at the ends of the network causes voltage drops. One way to solve this problem is to reconfigure the network. In this study, testing was carried out on a distribution system in the Nagan Raya Regency, namely the distribution system of PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Jeuram originally had a radial system. Furthermore, the distribution system was reconfigured with the Krueng Isep hydroelectric power plant which was included in the PLN ULP Jeuram grid so that the system that was originally radial became a loop configuration. The method used in analyzing the network reconfiguration process is to use the ETAP 12.6 application. As a result, after reconfiguring the network the voltage increased from 19.2 kV to 20.7 kV, the highest increase was at the Beutong Substation which reached 1.5 kV and decreased power losses in the network with a total of 188.2 kW and 263.1 kVAR. Furthermore, before the network reconfiguration, ULP Jeuram SAIFI value was 22.25 times/customers and SAIDI values 1337.74 minutes/ customers. However, after reconfiguring the network, ULP Jeuram SAIFI value fell to 15.39 times/customers and SAIDI to 945.6 minutes/customers, resulting in an increase in system reliability by 70.69%.Keyword: Reconfiguration of network, distribution system, hydroelectric power plant, SAIDI, SAIFI

Abstract

Currently, the supply of electrical energy is still not fulfilled in some areas due to the depletion of conventional energy sources and fossil energy. The ideal alternative energy is renewable energy that does not have the potential to run out such as solar energy, biomass and water. Senamat Ulu is a village in Bungo Regency that has the potential for biomass power generation because it has a lot of palm oil plantations covering an area of 3,917 hectares with an average production of 6,901 tons per year. Based on the coordinates of the center of the village, simulation Homer scored solar radiation of 4.43 kWh / m2/ day for Ulu Senamat area. The purpose of this research is to obtain the amount of biomass energy potential and the optimal model for the hybrid system of power generation in Senamat Ulu Village. From the results of the study, it was found that the potential for electrical power from the biomass power plant in Senamat Ulu was 6,113.65 kW consisting of 2,189.08 kW shells and 3,924.57 kW palm fiber. The most optimal generator model is simulation I in terms of the smallest NPC and COE economies, namely NPC $ 275,091 and COE $ 0.0768/kWh where Biomass is 49,946 kWh/year at a cost of $ 0.0271/kWh, PV 26,681 kWh/year with electricity price of $ 0.107/kWh, Micro hydro 156.025 kWh/year with electricity price of $ 0.00992/kWh, Storage Li-ion 8,643 kWh/year and converter 288,331 kWh/year and the time required to payback is 5.8 years.Keywords: Optimization, NPC, COE

Abstract

The mortality rate for pregnant women due to preeclampsia is still quite high in Indonesia in general and Bengkulu province in particular. There is no effective method to prevent preeclampsia, but early detection can help for proper treatment. Monitoring the condition of pregnancy is very important but the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented pregnant women to go to health facilities. Therefore, a pregnancy condition monitoring system was designed for early detection of preeclampsia using the android-based Certainty Factor method. The system designed consists of a blood pressure measuring device and an expert system. The device uses an MPX5500 pressure sensor, highpass Butterworth filter and an Arduino connected to an android smartphone via Bluetooth. The expert system will diagnose that pregnant women are at risk of preeclampsia or hypertension in pregnancy without the risk of preeclampsia. The blood pressure measuring  device works with an average difference to the aneroid sphygmomanometer of 7.05 mmHg with an error of 6.24% at systolic pressure and 10.15 mmHg with an error of 13.13% at diastolic pressure. The result of expert system diagnosis has an accuracy of 91.45%. Belum ada metoda yang efektif untuk mencegah terjadinya preeklampsia, tetapi deteksi dini dapat menolong untuk penanganan dan pengobatan yang cepat dan tepat. Monitoring kondisi kehamilan sangat penting, tetapi pandemi COVID-19 menyebabkan ibu hamil tidak dianjurkan untuk ke fasilitas kesehatan. Oleh karena itu dirancang sistem monitoring kondisi kehamilan untuk deteksi dini preeklampsia menggunakan metoda Certainty Factor berbasis Android. Sistem ini terdiri dari alat ukur tekanan darah dan sistem pakar. Alat ukur tensimeter menggunakan sensor tekanan MPX5500, filter high pass butteworth dan mikrokontroller Arduino terhubung ke smartphone android melalui Bluetooth. Sistem pakar akan mendiagnosa ibu hamil beresiko preklampsia atau hipertensi dalam kehamilan tanpa resiko preklamsia. Alat ukur tekanan darah yang dirancang untuk mendukung sistem, bekerja dengan rata-rata selisih terhadap pengukuran tensimeter aneroid sebesar 7,05 mmHg dengan galat 6,24 % pada tekanan sistolik dan 10,15 mmHg dengan galat 13,13 % pada tekanan diastolik. Hasil diagnosa sistem pakar memiliki akurasi sebesar 91,45 %. Abstract

Road marking is a sign located above the road surface that combines either a line or a symbol and provides information as visual guidance to road users. One example of road marking is the stop line behind the zebra crossing. Many violations of pedestrian rights are committed by motorized vehicles, especially because vehicles do not stop behind the stop line. This paper proposes a system to detect this type of traffic violation using the template matching method. This method is a technique in digital image processing to find small parts of the image that match the image template, so it can detect whether there is a traffic violation or not. This system uses the appropriate template images for each dataset (morning, afternoon, and evening). The system produces accuracy performances for the morning and afternoon dataset of about 100% and 78% respectively, and for the evening dataset is 70%. So, the overall average accuracy rate is 83%. The main factor affecting the overall accuracy performance is the inability to automatically extract the best template for the dataset from the morning and evening datasets.
