Abstract

The study aims to find the total of minimum day that must be spent by CV Buah Segar*) in Purwokerto. CV Buah Segar is a company engaged in the field of fresh fruit agribusiness. In solving marketing problems, the company has seven persons who are the most reliable of the 28 employees to be sent to the seven cities of marketing. The company calculates the total of minimum day they could solve the marketing problems in seven cities which have decreased dramatically in total sales. This decrease will affect the expenditure of the company to incur. The results of the seven employees, whom were Joni, Dodi, Tomi, Andi, Iwan, Wibowo, Kuncoro, and Wahyu after assignment minimization method, required 119 days to 7 employees. So that, the average was 17 days for one employee.

Abstract

The impact of exchange rate and oil prices fluctuation on the stock market has been a subject of hot debate among researchers. This study examined the impact of both the exchange rate volatility and oil price volatility on stock market volatility in Nigeria, so as to guide policy formulation based on the fact that the nation’s economy was foreign induced and mono-cultured with heavy dependence on oil. EGARCH estimation techniques were employed to examine if either the volatility in exchange rate, oil price volatility or both experts on stock market volatility in Nigeria. The result shows that share price volatility is induced by both the exchange rate volatility and oil price volatility. Thus, it is recommended that policymakers should pursue policies that tend to stabilize the exchange rate regime on the one hand, and guarantee the net oil exporting position for the economy, that market practitioners should formulate portfolio strategies in such a way that volatility in both exchange rates and oil price will be factored in time when investment decisions are being made.

Abstract

This study investigates trade foreign exchange nexus in Nigeria. This study is also done with a view to detecting the kind of relationship that exists between the two and also to investigate their co-integration. Annual time series data for the period 1996 – 2010 was used for the study. The Vector Correction Model (VECM) approach was employed to determine both the short and long run relationships. Results showed that the series becomes stationary after second difference. The co – integration test reveals five co – integrating vectors in the model, implying that the variables have the same stochastic drift. The study concludes that a long-term relationship exists between foreign trade and exchange rates implying that foreign trade flows have a strong link with exchange rates in Nigeria.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine whether the environmental performance and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) mechanisms, such as managerial ownership, institutional ownership, the proportion of independent commissioners had effects of the audit committee on measured financial performance by using Return on Equity (ROE). This research population was manufacturing company listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange that participated in PROPER 2012/2013 and 2013/2014. Based on the multiple regression analysis, audit committee partially had a significant effect on financial performance, while the others did not. Meanwhile, the analysis result shows that environmental performance and all GCG mechanisms simultaneously have significant effects on financial performance.

Abstract

Clothing Konveksindo CV Gloria is a trading company engaged in the sale of products and clothing items. Therefore, the performance of employees is very important in achieving that goal. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of ability, effort, and support the company towards the employees performance CV Gloria Konveksindo Clothing. The method of analysis used in this study is descriptive, Pearson Regression, and Multiple Regression. Data obtained from the appraisal of employee performance by filling in the questionnaire that has been provided by using a Likert scale that is useful to know the degree of disagreement and agreement existing employees to the question on the questionnaire. The results achieved in this study were the ability of employees to work have an influence for 28.8% of employee performance, employee efforts in working to have the effect of 50.6% on employee performance, corporate support for work processes have the effect of 47.7% the performance of employees, while the ability of employees, employee efforts, and support the company has influence for 66.3% of the employees performance CV Gloria Konveksindo Clothing. With this capability expected of employees, employee efforts, and support the company serve as the main factor to improve employee performance.

Abstract

The development of communication technology and Internet-based information encourage the emergence of new changes in the marketing world. Customer-oriented makes it an effective medium for the activities of Word-of-Mouth (WOM). In this information era, Word-of-Mouth becomes credible resource in the community. To harness the power of electronic Word-of-Mouth (e-WOM), the company must first identify and understand effectively users of the web to spread their opinions. By using 60 respondents as a source of information and data collection, results of the study found various types of Foursquare users and various motivations that drive them. The first finding of this study revealed six types of Foursquare users, namely: The Gamers, The Existence, The Need Help, The Mayor, The Showoff, and the Angels. The second finding was the type of motivation that Foursquare users are distinguished by category Feature Involvement, Self Satisfaction, Seeking Advice, Economic Incentives, Self Enhancement, and Concern for Other Users. From this study, Self Satisfaction, Self Enhancement, and Concern for Other Users are the motivation type of Foursquare users that give positive contribution to the activities of e-WOM because the three types directly do some sort recommendations or promotions of the places they check-in. Furthermore, Feature Involvement, Seeking Advice, and Economic Incentives are the types that less provide positive contribution to the activities of e-WOM. Advice Seeking and Economic Incentives are the types that the most feel benefits of e-WOM activities through Foursquare. Feature Involvement is the type that does not contribute the most to the activities of e-WOM and do not feel the most benefits of e-WOM activities through Foursquare. This research is expected to help companies that use Foursquare to establish the right business strategy in encouraging e-WOM among Foursquare users.

Abstract

The banking sector of Yemen is under threat due to the lack of confidence and trust of the prospective clients that hindered economic development of the country. The study aimed to measure a moderating effect of transformational leadership on employees’ psychological empowerment and job satisfaction relationship so that attitudes of the Yemeni can be bumped towards banking. In this study, 160 employees were surveyed in different branches of four banks in Yemen. The data were analyzed in four stages namely, reliability and validity analysis, descriptive analysis, multivariate analysis, and hypotheses testing analysis. The study revealed a significant positive relationship between employees’ psychological empowerment and transformational leadership towards their job satisfaction level. If the policy makers consider the findings and undertake necessary measures, the Yemeni banking is expected to be accelerated which will contribute to the economy of the country.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the adoption plan of IAS 41 Agriculture as a part of IFRS Convergence in Indonesia by investigating the characteristics of biological assets and agriculture produce in public listed companies in Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). The methodology used in this study is qualitative approach by investigating financial statements of agricultural public listed companies for the year 2011. Thestudy shows that the biological assets recorded in the public listed companies range from consumable biological assets and bearer biological assets. It also shows that many bearer biological assets need more than one reporting period to be ready to produce other biological assets or agriculture produce to be harvest. According to IAS 41, these biological assets should be recorded using fair value model, however this model will not be appropriate. This findings lead to another questions what is the valuation appropriate for biological assets which have different characteristics.
